Fanfiction writers (Scriptor fictus) are intelligent animals who need plenty of enrichment as well as encouragement! If they're stuck in poor conditions (e.g. have studies, work, have to actually write to have something written) then they require the proper enrichment to engage in more healthy behaviours, like writing. Remember, due to poor breeding and socialisation, over half of all fanfic writers suffer from low self confidence and executive dysfunction so take care of them!
Give your fanfic writers proper care. Fanfiction writers are a life long commitment.

My fics now have tags of their names. How Many Angels has both hma as well as how many angels. I have mme midnight and madame midnight for my nom de plume.
Spam me. Do it! Consume me! I put my things into the world to feed the mutual fans and in turn their shared joy fuels me. For as an artist and author I subsist on the energy of the observer and the hungrier they are for that which I create, the more life is breathed back into me making every second spent worth more than they cost.
You know when someone goes through your blog on a mass like-spree for a fandom? I love those like, 19 notifications in a row. it’s like “Ah, I see you’re well into a fixation. God bless.”

Commenting fanfiction is the easiest thing in the world once you start doing it.
The 1:10 ratio sounds terrible for multi chapter fics... Subscribers can't leave more kudos, but they'll increase the hits at every update

Another AO3 thing I’m curious about, how do yall decide if something is good enough to read? Usually I follow a rule of 1 kudos for every 10 hits. One because it’s easy math and two it’s yet to fail me. Thoughts? Do you just go for it and pray it’s good?
