Danny wakes up, strapped into a rollercoaster train car with a bunch of other civilians, in a dilapidated amusement park, with an insane clown laughing through the speakers.
He can see that the track is entirely broken, and that it will send them straight to the ground.
Danny knows he won't die.
Danny knows the civilians in the train car with him will.
So he slowly freezes the wheels until the car stops, a mere four feet from the edge, allowing the icy tendrils to snake down the support struts and reinforce them. His eyes are letting out a faint blue glow, his hands frosted over, and he isn't so much focusing on keeping the ice stable as he is focusing on getting it into the gears and ensuring that the train car can't be knocked off the track.
Now the civilians are feverishly whispering words of encouragement to him, to keep it up, while the local vigilante family fights the Joker.
Why, oh why, did he think that going on vacation in Gotham was a good idea?

flashcards
flashcards are a study tool that aids in memorization. they typically consist of a card bearing information on both sides, with a question or definition on one side and the answer or term on the other. flashcards can be used for various subjects, such as vocabulary, historical dates or formulae, and are effective because they involve active learning through self-testing and spaced repetition. they can be created physically with paper and pen or digitally using software.
here are some tips to create flashcards that are effective and engaging:
phrase your flashcards as questions: instead of simply writing a term or concept, phrase it as a question. this encourages active recall, which is more effective for memory retention.
use the specification: refer to your exam boards specification or past exam papers to ensure your flashcards cover the necessary material and help with exam technique.
one idea, one flashcard: keep your flashcards simple. each should contain one question and one answer. this makes it easier for your brain to process and remember the information.
engaging questions: write questions that are interesting and thought-provoking. avoid one-word answers; instead, aim for answers that make you think about the topic in depth.
regular review: use your flashcards regularly and shuff them often to avoid simply memorizing the order. spaced repetition is the key to long-term retention.
personally, i don't enjoy using flashcards so i'd like to add that everyone is very different and we all learn and enjoy various things. what works for someone online may not work for you. you just have to try and find out.
i hope you find the post helpful.

+ flashcard tips

Watched about an episode and a half with eng/kor subs before sitting down and using Language Learning Netflix plug in to make quick Quizlet flashcards.
make and review flashcards in chunks, so there is never a burdensome pile to review (that is why the flashcards are "quick" they are temporary, only to be reviewed while immersed in the context.)
add grammar cards from TTMIK list
always study ENG >> KOR
check difficult words for chinese etymology for context before going back to memorize. seems to help for some reason.

2024.04.05 Hour 12 đžđȘ - Coffee Break Swedish

Good to do some basic listening. Reading/watching etc works but its better to spring forward in ability with beginner content FIRST if I want to make faster speaking/interpersonal usage progress.
đ°đ· this practice is making me rethink my korean practice. decided i should instead finish all my korean textbooks FIRST (black set, purple book, dankook book, tiger korean)
Swedish +1.5hr
Coffee Break Swedish is great beginner-level audio content. its easily accessible both bc its a podcast and because there's english to guide you and speaking practice built in.
I would like to chat more with my boyfriend rather than just learning to understand Kalle Anka.

did not make and will not make any (temporary) flashcards for this content because the audio lesson comes with both listening and speaking/memory practice. flashcards not needed.

i made a post on how to effectively use sticky notes, so i figured that i should probably do the same for flashcards since theyâre such an essential aspect to studying! thus, if you ever find the need to use that stack of note cards sitting on the side of your desk, hereâs some great info to get you started!
different uses and formats
question/answer; one side holds the question and the other has the answer in a short, summary-type format
term/definition; one side has the term and the other its definition, often with some key information to go along with it
mini formula sheet; either by topic, per unit, or for the entire course, flashcards are a good tool for keeping formulas and equations
mindmaps; generally on larger flashcards, but work great
can also be used as a color coding key when taking/revising notes
great for quick to-do lists, especially if you donât use a bullet journal or donât have space in your bullet journal and want to break down tasks
try this great alternative to flashcards if you just donât like the standard format/system!

remember this!
flashcards are small and can get all over the place, so use a key-ring, rubber band, paper clip, storage box, little plastic bag, or anything really, to keep them together and neat
number each card when using a set, that way you know the order or at least how many you have in case you lose one
try to color code info! it helps your mind locate and remember specific things
even color code the actual flashcards with little sticky notes!
add pictures and visuals as well
use bullet points to keep info short and concise, thereâs not much room for long sentences!
whenever writing on note cards, be sure to use as many symbols and abbreviations as you can to save space
