Some More Photos Of The Underlying Armature And How I Built It Up For The Platybelodon Sculpt. I Think

Some more photos of the underlying armature and how i built it up for the platybelodon sculpt. I think i will keep making basic skulls for my sculpts as it gives a rather natural look imo, also it satisfoes my need for playing with and kearning better anatomyđź‘€ one tuak is deliberatley shorter than the other to portray use and wear from a life of fighting. I'm always fascinated by battle scarred bull elephants. If you want to see more pictures of tge finished sculpture, check out my previous post! #miniature #artistofinstagram #artistoninstagram #paleoartist #sculptor #art #artist #paleoart #platybelodon #sculpture #supersculpey #armature #maquette #toy #elephant #animalart #sciart #dinosaurart #poboscidea #toymaker #prehistoric #prehistoriccreature #gompothere #creaturedesigner #creaturedesign #fossilfriday https://www.instagram.com/p/BwJwcSHlafe/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=53ak37gp4w0b

A Teensy Bit Late For #fossilfriday In My Own Timezone But It's Not Too Late For Some Of You! Here's

A teensy bit late for #fossilfriday in my own timezone but it's not too late for some of you! Here's a part of my collection of actual fossils; some from where i grew up here in Buskerud, Norway, and some are from the Jurassic Coast, England. First up, there's the two ammonites...or bivalvs?...or..mollusks.. that i found while on a fossil trip when in 2007, from the Jurassic Coast, which is a famously fossil rich coastline in England, UK. The rest of the fossils are from Norway, where the majority of fossils you can find are mollusks of various forms, and some trace fossils of early sea creatures. The largest fossil found here I believe was a 0.3 - 1 meter long eurypterid, or seascorpion as they're known as (tho icthyosaurs, plesiosaurs, and a pliosaur dubbed "predator x" and other Jurassic marine life has been found on the Norweian governed part of Svalbard). These mollusks i excavated myself as a child from rocks right outside my yard with a regular hammer or other rocks. Some i could just poke right out of the rock. I don't have that much info on these things cause i haven't really looked into these things in the likes of 12 years🤷‍♂️ #fossil #fossils #mollusks #invertebrates #tgif #amateurpaleontologist #jurassiccoast #norwegianpaleontoligy https://www.instagram.com/p/B5wKYT3lGSA/?igshid=1x6jrwy8v2nah

In 2013 I built a life-size model of Thecodontosaurus for the Bristol Dinosaur Project. Here is how it was built, part 8 of 9.

This mount at the Royal Belgian Institute of Natural Sciences brilliantly demonstrates how puny Velociraptor is in direct comparison to Tyrannosaurus
