Dude I just had a realisation that Joe could parallel Billy perfectly with these intrusive thoughts and feelings. They both supress them but unlike Billy, who later vents them out through his creations, Joe has nobody to talk or share it to so eventually the feelings spill out onto other people. While Billy gets to keep his pretty image with lies, Joe’s is completely destroyed by honesty. But don’t be mislead this isn’t honesty they chose, it’s honesty he was forced into. The only one who gets to choose to be honest is Billy with his robots. But robots aren’t real people, so was he ever honest in the first place?
There’s this headcanon that Ebigeso made that Incredible Principal is shy to show his face which is why he wears a mask. But I find that silly because why would you code your own robot to feel insecre? Usually you program fear to prevent something bad like death or murder. But then I remembered this is Billy, and one justification I though of was that he probably fucks with his robots to vent out his own issues… Like when you self-insert onto your OCs so taht you have someone to relate to. I think the only time it gets really screwed up is in BBEG:11YL when Gaming Computer is programmed to genuinely feel heartbreak, like… Billy, what’s your damage 😭 tf happened in 11 years.
OMG THIS I feel like billy just represses soooo much of himself because he's scared of being weak or an embarrassment. He wants to look his best at absolutely all times and he's incredibly stoic and cold hearted as a result.
It's the exact same thing when Billy sees Mira draw really concerning things (cough cough self termination) but Mira brushes it off. Like. I don't think you are ok actually????
Billy definitely expresses himself through his craft, I bet he makes desktop buddies that cry and get angry. That's he bad he's feeling at the moment 😭😔

Hear me out: All the robots that Billy makes are aro-ace.
“But what about Billy’s Girlfriend?” that robot is also aro-ace, being Bily’s Girlfriend is only a title to her, and the role is something that was programmed into her. Loving Billy is practically her job, and such could be used as meta-commentary in the narrative, to show how Billy’s constant controlling of others reduces love and passion — for people and hobby — into a marketed tool for social status.
Billy probably also doesn’t want to burden his robots with those kinds of fragile feelings, as far as he knows, romance makes it more difficult to make difficult decisions. Also, his robots are made for the purpose of social and service work, so the only love they need is compassion from respect; and friendliness from platonic love. I imagine he also probably programmed them to feel familial love later on once he realised he was getting really attatched to them, and also once they started working as part-time caretakers for his son.
