I’ll have to revisit this when I make it to Goodneighbour - having never really met Hancock, I can’t judge how in character he is. In the meantime I can absolutely vouch for the writing and dialogue! The texture of the mayor and Lizzy as characters is incredibly rich - you can feel the hidden edges of their experience, personality, and trauma tug at the fabric of the narrative. Goodneighbour is the perfect place for the Sole Survivor to lose direction, giving in to the hopelessness the harsh realities the post-war wasteland can inspire - and Hancock is the perfect person to recognize it. https://archiveofourown.org/works/26792851
