i froze for a moment at her question, quickly retracing every step i have taken up until now. there should be no way she knows of what i've done to those who caused her so much pain and anguish, enough of it that she scarred her beautiful fucking body over it. but i remained calm, cool, collected -- it was what i was best at. i had to be given my position, my profession. i couldn't be so easily swayed. so easily read. no, that wasn't an option for someone like me; a lawyer and killer.
