About Me
Hi, I go by Blakesley online. I'm a 29 year old female trainer who specializes in Dark types, and is trying to apply to become a gym leader in my local region, since a lot of our gym leaders are retiring.
Here's a makeshift trainer card I used because I don't feel comfortable posting my real trainer card with my real name on it online. I'll probably edit this with an actual picture, later.
I majored in Dark Type studies in Pokemon Academy, and raised ALMOST every dark type at least once. (Dark Types only make up 8% of currently discovered Pokemon). I also do occasional field research for professors to make a little extra dough.
Let me introduce my main team I'm applying for the gym leader position with.
Pokemon
Kain is my starter (misspelled it on the ID). No, I'm not from Alola, but my Mom grew up there, so she was able to pull some strings and get me and my sister Alolan starters as gifts once each of us were old enough to start training Pokemon. It was tough choosing between Litten and Popplio. It was funny seeing my Dad's reaction when he saw what Cain evolved into. He just thought he was gonna be a bigger cat!
Kyoshi was the hardest to get fully evolved. Like, frick, her evolution item is extremely rare to the point you can only get it in a few regions, plus she had to beat a bunch of other Bisharp while holding it. Like, holy crap. She's strong, though, and definitely worth the effort.
Mikey is a good boy. He likes belly rubs and is friendly with most other Pokemon. He did have some trouble with Camonte since both Mabosstiffs and Honchkrows are highly territorial. There's a local Meowth that gets on his nerves, but he gets along with my Mom's Alolan Meowths and Purrloin we recently adopted.
Wrath, despite no longer being an Impidimp, is still a prankster (not the ability prankster) and likes to mess with me. Being part fairy type makes him excellent for dealing with fighting type users.
Ghidorah is strong af. Enough said. She's a bit of a glutton. I kinda miss when she was a Deino, sometimes.
I technically had Camonte before becoming a trainer, I just wasn't able to formally catch him until after I started my journey. Camonte is the one I have to keep my eye on the most. Even if a Honchkrow has a trainer, they will often take control of a flock of Murkrow and essentially establish a crime syndicate. I have had to return so many Pokeballs and wallets ever since I evolved him. Still love him to death, though.
I have other Pokemon, too, including a Blissey, and Alolan Muk that might get used on my team if I qualify to run my own gym (to deal with the pesky fairies), a Crobat, and a ton of others that would take forever to list.

My oc is my self insert.
I use a fan made region called Illona that's a combination of Illinois, Arkansas, and a few other surrounding states. There is going to be a lot of Fanon and fan characters applied.
I probably won't do Fakemon, though. If I do, they'll probably just be regional forms to make things easier.
I may or may not attempt to create a Pokemon fan game with these concepts. No promises, though, since I've never made a game before.
I WILL NOT POST CHARITY LINKS YOU SUBMIT. I don't care if you claim you've been verified, I don't trust anyone. I've almost fallen for scams from people who were supposedly verified before, so I'm not going to trust some online user to tell me who's legit and who isn't. I apologize to those of you who are actually legitimate, but I can't take the risk. There are other users and websites who will gladly help you.
Today I had to turn over a Master Ball to Officer Jenny after finding Camonte trying to convince our neighbor to give him food for it
1) Where did he even GET a Master Ball?!
2) I'm baffled he tried to trade it for SNACKS. Like, he understands the bare basics of how money works. I know because he not only typically has some Murkrow go after wallets, but he once managed to sell a Water Stone! I still don't know how he managed to communicate with the buyer.
But then when he gets something REALLY valuable...he wants an ice cream sandwich. Buddy. Pal. YOU'RE THE "BIG BOSS" POKEMON! Use your brainnnn.
Update: Officer Jenny called. Apparently there was a Magikarp in that Masterball.
Apparently Camonte was trying to trade the Magikarp rather than an empty Master Ball. It makes more sense, now. He probably took the Masterball, realized it was occupied, and figured the most he could get for a Magikarp was a snack.
Maybe he's getting TOO smart.
I need to go back to sleep, now.

Things to know before getting a Murkrow or evolving it into a Honchkrow
Murkrow
MAKE SURE IT ISN'T ALREADY PART OF A HONCHKROW'S FLOCK! Wild Honchkrow are rare, but this is still a problem. Honchkrow will still consider caught Murkrow their underlings, and will give it orders. This can include orders to steal from you. There are two legal solutions to this problem. Either go through the lengthy process of convincing the Honchkrow to give the Murkrow its blessing to leave the flock...or catch the Honchkrow.
Murkrow are social creatures that can grow very friendly towards you, but this means it needs socialization, whether it be from you or other Pokemon. These are flock Pokemon.
The "hat" isn't removable. Stop trying
If you plan on evolving it into a Honchkrow
Make sure it's learned any moves from its previous evolution you want it to know before evolving.
MAKE SURE YOU GROW VERY CLOSE TO IT BEFORE EVOLVING IT! It is the "Big Boss" Pokemon for a reason! Honchkrow-led flocks tend to be organized nearly identically to that of the mafia. You need to increase it's friendship levels and gain it's respect to ensure it doesn't see you as an underling in its flock. Unfortunately, I'm pretty sure Camonte sees me as either his "Underboss" or "Consigliere" as he still tries to order me around. Jokes on him, I don't know what he's telling me to do.
Keep an eye on it. It will likely form a flock with local Murkrow, whether those Murkrow be wild or have trainers.
IT WILL TRY TO COMMIT CRIME. Honchkrow have been known to do everything from simple stealing to full on racketeering. They can learn the basic concept of how money works due to their high intelligence. There was even a case of a Honchkrow having an illegal casino after watching some humans run one. It was crazy.
Be suspicious of gifts brought to you.

Overall, personally I wouldn't trade Camonte for anything. Honchkrows have a lot of personality, and protect their "flock."

My Pokemon is practically already in a costume.
If I want to match him, I'll just get a mobster costume, lol
Since its that time of month where Halloween costumes are starting to go up for sale and people are probably starting to plan theirs, I have a small message.
Please do not force your pokemon into a costume if they show they're uncomfortable with it. Having matching costumes is a cute concept, but if your 'mon gives you signals that it doesn't like wearing clothing or accessories (behavior such as trying to force the costume off, destroying it, hissing/growling/swatting etc) please respect their boundaries and opt for something like a festive themed collar, pokeball stickers, bandanas, or other themed versions of things they're comfortable with already.
Having some spooky fun should be fun for both you and your pokemon, not just for you.
As much as I hate the stigma against dark types...I can see why Honchkrows are popular with evil team bosses.
These dudes literally run the Pokemon equivalent of a Crime Syndicate. Even ones with trainers will sometimes sneak behind their backs to do their thing.
I've mentioned Camonte's bullcrap shenanigans before... especially the MASTER BALL INCIDENT.
Luckily they also are pretty dang loyal.
I wish they'd always be, but a Fedora is rarely a valid option.

Although I play gen4 mostly, this is the first time I beat Diamond ever~

I originally made this file to hunt Murkrow in Eternal Forest (that as you can see, I got in the second phase after Budew), then I decided to finish the playthrough as I've never done it before. I hunted some other teammates, a Chimchar with masuda method and Elekid with PokéRadar, but I was lazy to make a full shiny team, so I grabbed a Lumineon (that I've also never used before) and kept my starter Grotle.
