i hope you guys know defending disabled people's right to exist in public also involves defending disabled people's right to exist in public in ways that others might perceive as annoying, unpleasant, uncomfortable, and inconvenient at times. a blatant example is the "slow walker" thing. someone with tourette's syndrome who has issues with verbally ticcing is likely going to have trouble staying quiet in a public space where they're expected to be. autistic children (and some adults) getting triggered into meltdowns due to an overstimulating environment. people with hearing problems having their phone on speaker while on a phone call. a wheelchair user taking up part of the road/sidewalk/aisle. people with autism, adhd, hearing problems, or other things that affect volume control having loud conversations. someone audibly talking to themselves, which can be attributed to many things. motor tics. dyskinesia. ataxia. pseudobalbar effect. the list goes on. some of thus may even be potentially triggering for your own issues if you're someone who's also mentally and/or physically disabled, but if you're well aware of how you can't help your response to it, you should be equally aware of how others can't help themselves either. people who aren't able to be disabled quietly and conveniently don't deserve to be punished or met with anger (or turned into a spectacle) for not deciding to shut themselves away.
🛑‼️ Stop ‼️
Hello, I am Doaa and I am reaching out to you with a heavy heart on behalf of my family, the Jad Al Haq family of twenty-three members, including 11 children, who are trapped in the devastating situation in Gaza. They are urgently seeking evacuation to Egypt after enduring more than 270 days of displacement and hardship. I seek to help them urgently and provide them with the minimum requirements. ▩ I am now in Egypt with my child, who has been autistic for about three and a half months. I was displaced and was able to escape the scourge of war after my displacement to Rafah, and today I find myself in a situation that I never expected. The conflict in Gaza has left my family in desperate need of help. This war has taken their livelihoods, their factories and their livelihoods as they struggle to survive. See as we were a happy family
I never imagined that my loved ones would be caught in the crossfire of a conflict they were not part of. My father, the owner of a clothing sewing factory, had only one dream – to educate and take care of his family. My brothers have children. The idea that their innocence has been marred by the horrors of war is too heavy a burden to bear.
My father, who is 65 years old, suffers from multiple diseases and diabetes, and suffered a stroke after his factory and family home were destroyed, faces the harsh reality of conflict. The trauma inflicted on the eleven children and my nieces tears at my heart, and I am haunted by fear for their safety and well-being. ↪ To give you a glimpse into their daily struggle, they wake up to a relentless battle for survival after surviving deadly nights. For more than 200 days, they have been cooking on firewood due to the scarcity of cooking gas. The entire region lacks fuel for cars, making transportation almost impossible. Basic necessities, including medicines, are scarce, even for those with the means to purchase them. Humanitarian aid has barely reached areas in Khan Yunis that have not yet reached my family.
But I find myself in a very embarrassing situation. I have to go back and ask for help and rescue. You are my only hope. My joy is not complete, as my family lives behind me in the Gaza Strip. I promised myself that I would do my best to convey their suffering and save them, even if it cost me death. My beloved family is the most precious thing in my existence, and I am very sad that they are still in the northern Gaza Strip, where they see all kinds of death
I'm ashamed to ask you to help me save my life. It was my wise way to save my child and get out of Gaza If someone donates 50 kroner it will make a difference for us and help us because we need more. I don't want to lose my family, you are my only hope I love you because you were the source of my trust. I love you because you are truly wonderful. You are our hope always and forever. You also helped me save my family, the most precious thing in existence. I feel so embarrassed but I have rubbed salt in my wound and I have no one to save it but you My family is calling you and asking for your help my family is big . I have six sisters and four sisters-in-law, and the number of children in my family is 11, and they are in dire need of rescue and safety.
Your generosity will directly help save my family from death and rebuild our lives. Every donation, no matter the size, makes a big difference. i genuinely hate how people have to sit and write a post that stands out while boosting a fundraiser because most people won't bat an eye at the misery and inhumane conditions Palestinians are living in.
i see people making art and telling others to use it because fundraisers with art are generally reblogged more often. i see people using colored text in order to make the post more eye catching.
palestinians on instagram are using popular audios and stitch trending reels at the beginning to make the world pay attention to them. imagine having to make something look entertaining in order to survive.
they are living under constant threat of israeli airstrikes, bombing, scarcity of food and disease. many have lost a lot in the past few months.
palestinians on tumblr are posting their pictures and the horrible conditions in which they are living. they travel long distances for internet connection only to be called a scammer by some privileged ass who cannot locate gaza on a map.
here are some verified gfms. please share the linked posts. it's the bare minimum we can do from the comforts of our home.

🫂Family needs financial help in Gaza! Mother suffers from cancer🫂

Dear compassionate souls,
I write to you today with a plea that weighs heavily upon my heart. My name is Saed, a lawyer and musician from Gaza—a region tragically engulfed in the relentless flames of conflict. Amidst the chaos, my family has become ensnared, facing imminent danger and desperation beyond words.
The journey began innocently enough as I embarked on a trip to Egypt to stand by my beloved mother during her grueling battle with cancer, a fight that commenced back in 2020. Little did I know, this journey would unfold into a lifeline for my family as the scourge of war descended upon our homeland.

On December 3, 2023, our family home was mercilessly destroyed, further exacerbating our already dire situation. Trapped within the war-torn confines of Gaza, my father Akram (71 years old), sister Wajd (21 years old), and brother Mahmoud (33 years old) found themselves clinging to survival amidst the rubble of our once cherished home. The harrowing ordeal of narrowly escaping the bombing left them seeking refuge in a shelter in the northern reaches of the Gaza Strip.
After

Before

During these tumultuous circumstances, we face a severe lack of funding. As I mentioned previously, I am currently residing in another country to support my mother, whose cancer treatment requires additional procedures not covered by the Palestinian Ministry of Health.
Your support in this critical hour is more than a mere act of kindness; it is a beacon of hope amidst the darkness of despair. Each contribution, no matter how small, serves as a lifeline, offering the promise of safety and the prospect of a brighter tomorrow.
With deep gratitude and unwavering hope, I extend my sincerest appreciation to you for your generosity, compassion, and unwavering solidarity in our shared humanity.
In solidarity and gratitude,
Saed
