Been quiet recently because I've been working on a new fic. If you like the Thick of It I think you'll like it.
Malcolm Tucker knows how dangerous a scandal can be. You don't get to the top in British politics without making a few enemies, who would leap at the chance to bring him down with the right story.
He just never expected that scandal to come from his wife.

Guys, I'm rewatching The Thick of It, and normally when I watch it I'm going all gooey-eyed over Malcolm, but can we just... can we talk about Jamie for a minute here?
So the first time you see him he just looks short, which makes no sense as Paul Higgins is actually 5'11. Peter Capaldi is around 6' and Chris Addison is 6'2, so maybe he just looks smaller by comparison, or possibly because he rarely stops actually moving when he's stood up so it's hard to properly see.
Anyway, this short, fluffy headed little guy turns up with these ridiculous big blue puppy dog eyes and a cheeky grin that looks like it belongs on a bloody schoolboy, and the next thing you know he just explodes out of nowhere with this insane amount of energy and rage that, frankly someone should be calling a therapist for because clearly this boy is holding on to some feelings, and then before you know it he's back to that mischievous little look on his face and tbh I think I need help.

My writers creativity is telling me to start the next chapter with a cold open of a sex scene. My repressed, embarrassed little brain is screaming no. What do I do?
One is my husband, the other is the feral little puppy who occasionally sleeps at the end of our bed.

Just had a fic prompt in my head where the OC comes home from shopping or something and Malcolm's standing in the hallway like "your feral bloody puppy is at it again." And it's just Jamie sitting on the living room floor grinning.
Me: I can't choose

Malcolm and Jamie are soft as hell off duty and you will not convince me otherwise.
Like, you ever see a kid in a toy shop after their parents took them to McDonalds, and they're all hyped up on sugar and excitement? That's Jamie, all the time at home.
He will force Malcolm to watch Dirty Dancing or Roman Holiday just to piss him off, forget and get really into it.
He will try cooking but cause complete chaos in the kitchen in the process, until Malcolm has to literally pick him up and move him out of the way so he can take over.
He will burrow under the duvet and refuse to come out when Malcolm tries to wake him up in the morning.
He will fall asleep halfway through a film he insisted on watching, without exception.
He will attempt to eat his own body weight in chocolate when he's had a bad day, until Malcolm pulls it out of his hands and makes him go to bed.

Just love them. Want to marry both of them. It would either be the most dysfunctional, toxic mess the holy state of matrimony has ever seen, or the sweetest, most sickeningly romantic thing ever. No in-between.
