It took me 5 days but I finally finished Jenny's review
I find it completely fascinating how one person can spend four hours putting all of my thoughts and feelings about disney into actual words. She not only justified my already declining opinion of the company, but also expanded my knowledge of the complete buffoonery that is happening over there.
There was so much to unpack and while I think the cost vs quality difference is the main thing, I agree with other people that those little fire closets of shame should have been looked at a little more closely? maybe? aren't there standards for that sort of thing? Idk it both amuses and concerns me everytime I think of five people trying to fit in that little porta potty sized room while the building burns down around them. It's probably a good thing the attraction closed down before there was any real emergency to be dealt with.
She's 100% right about galaxy's edge; the one time I went to disney the best thing I got out of it was some cool Batu photos and a stuffed porg (he wears a santa hat). That was pretty much it.
I would absolutely read a fanfic about Amethia Tope and Skippy, they deserved better. Skippy with the little water dish was the highpoint of the video - which just goes to show how bad the rest of her experience actually was (props to the cast member tho that was adorable).
My overall final thoughts consist of nothing but the singular question "does disney have any idea what's going on?"
ok so im atheist but i cannot tell you the money i would pay to see that ripoff easter play church make an easter play out of stex given the amount of religious references in that show. like it's practically asking to be a mid-budget easter church play.
the image of rusty the goddamn steam engine being crucified on the train cross for everyone's train sins by greaseball and friends is absolutely comical to me. my ideal post-crucifixion lament would probably be a rewrite of be a pump, or call me rusty, obviously rerwritten to be from like, pearl perspective. but most crucifixion laments are parodies of pop songs so if not any stex songs, i would say like see you again, dancing on my own, or someone like you. light at the end of the tunnel has to be the final post-ressurection song no question though, i won't take anything more than that.
i'm imagining the preacher who's in every play shows up as poppa, and then after the play does the post-performance easter sermon in full train getup, and in the church seats there's just sprinkles of train people amongst the crowd eating the jesus bread.

jenny nicholson gets no credit at all for her vampire diaries video changing the face of video essays and spawning a thousand copycats who didnt get that what made hers good was that it was cogent analysis and an efficient series summary without just describing the events of every episode (something mike’s mic has gotten significantly more credit for inventing despite imo vv much falling into that pitfall) but the thing i remember her for most was people on tumblr trying to cancel her for liking reylo

i do think loads of people who worked on the star wars hotel trying to prove Jenny Nicholson wrong is so funny. like the hotel is dead but for some reason they're acting like this review that came out after the hotel SHUT DOWN will single handily ruin everyone involved lives
