Ok y'all. I’m mad about how the fandom has been treating Sarah at the moment with the whole camp kiss thing. So people are comparing it to Kyle having a six month affair which, luckily, some people are calling them out for but no-one is comparing it to the thing it should actually be compared to. Let’s go over the series of events.

Sarah has a boyfriend

She meets Aubrey

Aubrey doesn’t know she has a boyfriend (as far as we know)

Sarah accidentally sends out romantic vibes

Aubrey acts on them with a kiss

Sarah shuts it down

Sarah tells her boyfriend the truth

Ok. Now let’s go over Sarah and Jordan’s interactions in the first episode.

Sarah has a boyfriend

She meets Jordan

Jordan doesn’t know she has a boyfriend

Sarah accidentally sends out romantic vibes

Jordan acts on them with a kiss

Sarah shuts it down

Sarah’s boyfriend finds out and immediately beats the snot out of Jordan

Pretty similar, right? Yet no-one seems to have an issue with that situation. The only differences I can see are that either y'all would be fine if Aubrey was the mc, y'all don’t like queer women or y'all think that getting the snot beat out of you makes up for kissing someone who’s taken.

I don’t know what this was meant to be, I’m just annoyed at this fandom’s weird double standards with Sarah

Am I the only one who was getting 'reign of supermen' vibes from this episode? Like we got the whole no superman thing and now we have Steel and two different Superboys. Are we gonna get a cyborg next? Probably not.

I don't know if it's intentional but I just think it's kinda cool how the classic comic elements are showing up.

We should all appreciate the pilot of Superman and Lois more, it's just so stupid and that's what makes it great.

Like Jordan's introduction where he's arguing with his dad while beating up video game Superman. It's so heavy handed and the dramatic irony is exploding. "Superman's boring. I'm Raiden." This show can do many things (many involving questionable fashion choices) but subtly is not one of them and I think that's glorious.

When the boys find out Clark is Superman and Jordan just gets in his face and shouts *chef's kiss*

It feels like they gave Alex Garfin a lot of direction in that scene and they just let Jordan Elsass do whatever he wanted and it's great. He's litterally quaking. This man looks like he has two brain cells and they're both just blue screening.

Clark: *is Superman*

Jordan: >:(

Jonathan: D:

Alex Garfin also gets to display his fabulous repertoire of serial killer faces™ it's a choice and a hilarious one at that.

"it's just like driving a car. If the car were indestructible and had giant death lasers as headlights."

Jon, stressed, scared, betrayed, on the verge of tears: "just leave us alone" * swaggers away*

"Is that how you're going today? Looks like someone got the punch-me-in-the-face-memo."

"And what I should dress like you? Like some sort of human participation trophy?"

"No but you could watch, like, a howtobasic on style"

The vulcan salute is best flirting tactic. 🖖

Sarah's whole motivation for befriending Jordan over Jonathan in the beginning was that she worked out he was some form of physically or mentally ill and she was like "mood"

Honestly, valid reasoning.

In the trailer Jon seems waaay too gleeful when he tells people the world is about to end. Also, why is he at school?

Seems like we might have a case of stolen (or merged) identity on our hands.

Whoever did the costume design for the bizzaro world needs a raise. The costumes all have such a vibe to them but are at the same time are just so awful. The pazzaz. The drama. The emo kilt. Perfection.

Look at this hoodie

Look At This Hoodie

This is not a normal hoodie. This is the hoodie someone who usually dresses like this would wear.

Look At This Hoodie
Look At This Hoodie

What's with the random little leather bits? Why does the pocket open up at the top like a kangaroo pouch?

Seems a bit bizzare to me.

Also when he says "Gotta keep your precious secrets so we can live a normal life" he sounds super stiff. Jordan Elsass is a pretty decent actor but you know who isn't? Jon-El. Last episode he kept failing to hide reactions and to look sincere at the appropriate time so it would make sense if he was black hoodie Jon.

Plus the line, itself, wouldn't make sense for Jon Kent. He doesn't have anyone specific to tell. It would make more sense coming from Jordan than Jon Kent.

Jon-El might say it cause he's salty that the Kents (especially Jon) actually did get to live a relatively normal life without all the celebrity pressure. Also, again, cause he's a bad actor and can't hide his reactions well.

If at any point this season Jonathan Kent makes a comment on how Jon-El dresses, I think we, as a collective all need to remember that this is the outfit he decided to wear for his first day at a new school and that he has no room to talk.

Whatsoever.

I can't believe they found a third alternate universe!

For a good chunk of the episode I was convinced the Jon we were watching was Jon-El in discuise. I was just grasping at straws but, like, it would explain Jon's ragging on Clark about the secret of he was just trying to mess with his alternate self's life to make it either easier for him, once they merge or if he ruined things for Jonathan so he would be less likely to fight the merge cause he had no normal life left, to return to anyway.

Jon reading the letter also seemed like a hint that he was bizzaro. He could have worked out from context clues that Sarah was important but since there was no Sarah in his world he was trying to get more information both to possibly use her as a weakness against Jordan and to make it look like he knew what was actually going on in regular Jon's life.

Jon-El could have pulled it off too. Maybe. He has superspeed and it's not like he's under constant surveillance or anything. He could almost be in two places at once.

I was just waiting the whole episode for a flash to some random basement or something, to see Jonathan tied up, just like Lana.

It would've been a good plot twist, too.

How could anyone hate Jon-El?

He's just sad

How Could Anyone Hate Jon-El?

And dramatic

How Could Anyone Hate Jon-El?

The best of both worlds. How can you not love him?

(also he's a fifteen year old with obvious long running parental issues who is being manipulated by a crazy cult lady who's using him to do her dirty work. obviously he's done bad stuff but he should at least be allowed to try to make up for it)

Honestly, at this point I feel that if one of the Kent twins has a mental illness, it sure as hell isn't Jordan.

Like the writers forgot about his anxiety almost immediately and completely pretended that he's neurotypical. Even if his superpowers help him with confidence and stuff in the long run, it just feels impossible that at least for the first few weeks/months they wouldn't have any negative impacts at all. Like that can't be good for anxiety, especially when added onto the fact that they're moving house and school and stuff.

Then you have Jonathan who is 100% spiralling. Get this boy a therapist, stat. It feels like the show just doesn't want to acknowledge this but he most definitely is not coping with, like, anything.

Sarah Cushing has got more development in this aspect from, like, two episodes than both of the boys, combined for the entire season.

I hope they do eventually touch on the mental health aspect of the twins because it should be represented and destigmatised, plus it also just seems really unrealistic.

Like, no. Don't try to pretend these are actual children playing these fourteen/fifteen year olds. You're using adult actors, no one's criticising you for it. Just own up to it.

I'm only halfway through the episode but I have thoughts!

When your child tells you 'Everyone hates me. I'll never be able to do the thing I love again. I have no future.' the correct response is not. 'that's not true. Anyways... I'm going to go talk to your brother now.'

Seriously Clark. What even is that. You were doing so well.

Also the look Jon got in his eyes when Clark said that Jon-El could be redeemed just makes it look like he's considering merging cause both Jons could earn forgiveness so it wouldn't screw up his life anymore than it already is.

And finally, Lana, that is no way to talk to a child. You're being so mean. I get if you don't want him to hang out with your daughter but it's because of situational issues not because of him. Talk to him like a mature adult. He's fifteen and has got so many issues. Don't be such a jerk.

Jonathan Kent is a clone.

More specifically, Superman and Lois's Jonathan Kent is actually an adaptation of Conner Kent. (Jordan is also the Jon adaptation)

There are two versions of Jon that match the two comic versions of Kon.

The fruity, celebrity, daddy issues one who for at least some time is aligned with the villain.

Jonathan Kent Is A Clone.
Jonathan Kent Is A Clone.

And the more down to earth one who also has daddy issues who tries to combat them with performance enhancing drugs. Who dresses bland af (affectionate).

Jonathan Kent Is A Clone.
Jonathan Kent Is A Clone.

It is possible that Jon's football throwing skills could be enhanced by tactile telekinesis and it would add reasoning to Clark's favouritism towards Jordan because Kon always has a rough relationship with Clark. He may be being unconsciously biased against him.

It would also be an extra factor for why Lois and Clark were so sure Jon was the one with powers because he was specifically designed and lab grown for that reason.

The show also has no qualms changing characters' names. The biggest example is how Natalie is called Natasha in the comics but also Ally originally being called Rudy ('cause she's basically confirmed to be Parasite now, right?) It wouldn't be too much of a stretch to change Kon to Jon. After all, despite how confusing it is, it's still only a one letter change.

As for how this would actually play out in canon. We don't know how much S&L is actually related to Supergirl but it seems like it is a different continuity, considering their blatant refusal to even make a passing reference to the Arrowverse, but we can assume that the characters might make somewhat similar decisions and things might play out similar because they seem like quite similar alternate universes, if anything.

If, like in the Arrowverse, Lois and Clark went to have their baby on Argo, once they found out they were having a kid because that seems like the safest option then, as far as we know, that would leave earth with no superhero.

This would also leave a perfect opportunity for Lex Luthor to create his own superman with no opposition. Enter project Kr.

When Lois, Clark and their son, Jon, arrive back on earth business goes back to usual until one day Clark busts Luthor for project Kr and he finds a baby who is, genetically, basically his son.

Since the family was off the grid (off the planet) for almost the entire pregnancy, they would be able to pass the baby off as their actual son's twin brother because they wouldn't have told anyone they were having one kid, past the stage that they should have known if they were having twins.

The rest, as they say, is history.

Now for a few flaws to this theory and their rebuttals.

1 We saw Lois get pregnant with twins. - All the flashback scenes we saw pre-the twins already being born were taken directly out of Clark's mind in the "A Brief Reminiscence Inbetween Cataclysmic Events" we don't actually know how the little mind reader devices work but we do know that the "memories" do not always play out exactly as they happened, as seen when Lois is going through Jordan's memories. It is also possible that what we play out is Clark's imaginings of his and Lois' cover story.

Why wouldn't they tell the boys in the pilot? - I think this can mostly be explained along with why they kept the Superman secret for so long. Clark didn't want to tell the boys until it was necessary and while the alien thing was basically unavoidable, it is very easy to see Clark reason to himself that practically, they're both half Kryptonian, it doesn't really matter where they came from. It would be another massive reveal after the alien thing so he might not want to dump it all on them at one time. Especially considering their reactions. This would only make the secret harder to spill each passing day because the boys would, justifiably, be mad about why they were still keeping massive secrets from them.

Thank you for coming to my ted talk.

Tldr: s&l Jon = comics Kon.

Kids Have Steel Costumes. It's So Cute. I'm Glad The Writers (or Costume/set Designers) Put In This Detail

Kids have Steel costumes. It's so cute. I'm glad the writers (or costume/set designers) put in this detail to show that he's actually being appreciated just like Clark is.

But also all these images look too idyllic to be come straight from the last episode so it feels like we're going to have one of four options

There's a time skip at the end of the episode

It's a flashback to the three month time skip at the beginning or the season

It's some mind game/hallucination similar to the beginning of 1x11

This is just chronologically close to everything else and the writers ignore how many issues people would have after having to deal with Ally's plan

I don't actually know what came of it but I remember at the beginning of the season there were a bunch of articles that Wouter Tyler Hoechlin as saying that it was his last season because his contract was ending or something.

What if Clark getting depowered is the writers' way of believably killing him off.

Any future seasons could have either Jon or Jordan (or both) working their way up to taking the Superman mantle just like comic Jon.

Urban dictionary definitions are always fun

Urban Dictionary Definitions Are Always Fun

But also... This will be me if Jonathan, John Henry, Jon El or Natalie end up dead or very heavily implied to not be important in the next season.

(Jordan too, but we all know that isn't going to happen)

Honestly I don't really care what they do with them as long as it isn't total character assassination and they get plots with satisfying conclusions (looking at you whoever writes Jons' storylines)

Jon-El at the least should get the start of a redemption arc or the start of a villainous downward spiral by the end of the season.

Jonathan should get his feelings properly acknowledged and his parents working to make it up to him (or the start of a villainous downward spiral)

John just needs to be not dead/greviously injured

And Natalie deserves to have a bunch of plot surrounding her getting into the hero scene (and a girlfriend. She deserves a girlfriend <3)

I'm along for whatever dumpster fire of a story this show decides to write (because I have a problem and have latched onto and hyperfixated on this show for just about a year) but I would at least like for it to be good, thank you very much!
