Bird-watching Makes Life Feel More Tranquil and Peaceful
I am currently at work right now and I couldn’t help but think about bird-watching. What got me interested in the hobby. When I started writing haiku poetry, I always bought bird seeds to put on my fire escape. I always had 2 Mourning Doves visit my window every morning, so I thought it would be a kind gesture to feed them nutritious dove seeds. Out of curiosity I looked up their species and was fascinated by their behavior and lifestyle. Eventually my bowl of bird seeds attracted other species of birds. I was so excited to see the vibrant blue feathers of a Blue Jay, and hear the metallic noise of a Northern Cardinal (I was so confused by the noise that I wrote a haiku poem about the bird lol). I started to do research to learn more about the birds that I saw.
When my grandmother was discharged from the hospital I had to take care of her for some time. When she recovered I would visit her house 3 days out of the week to make her breakfast. She lives in an area with plenty of trees and greenery that I always saw various species of birds when I walked to her house. The personality of birds and their behaviors are so funny. My favorites are the European Starling with their beautiful green sheen that shines under the sunlight, and the American Robin who jumps around and never walks.
Along with writing Haiku, bird-watching gives me motivation to go outside and enjoy nature. To enjoy and appreciate life. It’s very peaceful and calming to see birds live their lives worry-free. I always think of the Bible passage where Jesus says that birds don’t worry about food or shelter, yet God always provides them. It makes me have a more peaceful way of thinking. To not worry about what goes on in the world or how my life should be. The best and only thing I can do is live my life in the now as best I can.

if you don't have a fever then you definitely aren't even mildly sick, right? well that's the view in my family. physical health obviously trumps mental health which is a hush hush issue and funnily enough the last time i mentioned, yeah first time ever by the way, that i attempted suicide thrice, yeah you heard me right thrice, i was told that movies did that to my brain. but its ok. its always ok. it doesn't matter if i am shattering into pieces because there always a worthless one in the family who just can't seem to get anything right, even perfection has flaws apparently. i sit wondering what it would have been like to be loved by a family but i suppose i will always just keep on wondering about it. family is linked with blood but what do u do when you start hating them so much that you wanna keep jabbing a knife into his throat until he bleeds out? what do u do, huh? well i keep telling myself that it's all gonna be ok no matter how bleak it all seems. may be it's gonna be ok someday. just may be.
so instead of doing homework, i decide to make a keep calm poster for my favorite podcast ever, the Nerdist podcast! I did two, and couldn't decide which i liked better, so here are both for you to enjoy.
