under some random circumstances, the karasuno team take a trip to home depot

In the heat of the moment, Ukai rages and accidentally breaks a piece of furniture on school property. He’s urgent to fix it otherwise, he’s in deep shit. But it’s after school and- the boys can’t be left unsupervised. And then Ukai gets thinking. He turns to the boys with a shit eating grin. “Alright boys! Looks like we’ll be taking a trip!”

Ukai is too busy frantically searching for the missing parts in order to repair what has been broken to even notice what the boys were up to.

Daichi’s having a blast. This is definitely his element. In fact he probably took a course involving construction.

Which is why Daichi is the only person who knows why today’s practice really lead to a trip to a home improvement store.

Ukai figures he’d put Daichi’s knowledge to use. Definitely bribed him.

Though, Daichi doesn’t mind.

Takeda had no idea of any of their whereabouts. He’s convinced practice is moving smoothly on his day off.

There’s no way Ukai could tell Takeda. There was a big chance Takeda would snitch.

Tsukishima has tricked people into thinking he’s employed there.

Not on purpose exactly but- after hearing him muttering to himself about which appliances were more cost effective, the customers urged for more helpful advice.

There had been a huge crowd swarming around him asking him for assistance or input and now he regrets ever opening his mouth

Kageyama and Hinata are in the paint aisle.

They’re collecting as many sample cards as possible.

They’re actually discussing which colour is more beneficial to society.

This is definitely the most civil they’ve ever been.

Hinata: “No dude this blue is better.”

Kageyama: “That blue is a pussy and so are you.”

Hinata: “What the hell dude- you don’t have to be so v-vulgar!”

By the end of the trip they come back to school with four stacks of different variations of the same damn colour.

They’re still debating which shade is superior.

Yachi is in the gardening section. The part where it’s casted off from the rest of the store and kept outside.

She likes to admire all the plants and embrace the earthly smell.

Yamaguchi is in the light aisle. It’s calming and it’s alienated from the overwhelming crowd Tsukishima was forced into.

He didn’t like how many people were around Tsukishima.

But hey- that’s a pretty chandelier.

And even though he’s stuck in a retail store, the view of lights shining down onto and around him is so serene.

And finally it feels like the spotlight is on him.

He’ll close his eyes and imagine he’s elsewhere.

And then he feels a gentle tap.

It’s familiar. And it’s Tsukishima’s

Tsukishima explains how he cunningly strategized his way out of the sea of desperate customers.

He’ll make Yamaguchi laugh as he rambles on about how individually stupid they were.

And in that moment it seemed the lights were brighter.

Asahi has a trouble saying no.

He also has trouble watching old people attempting to lift such heavy equipment on their own.

So he’s helping each and every one of them. Sometimes carrying machinery or heavy planks of wood.

Plus, It’s all worth it when old women call him the “handsome boy with a big ol’ heart”

Five of them even offered to set him up with their grand daughters

Then there’s Sugawara

If he’s being quite honest, he found it a little entertaining to pick a bone with so many snobbish karen’s.

Sugawara finds himself arguing with almost every middle aged woman who thinks they know best.

He’s been kicked out for causing so many scenes

So he’s sitting out in the store front.

In front of the hot dog stand with two of them in his hands. [my home depot has a hot dog stand so just go with it]

Although he’s not mad.

That is until he was faced with an angry manager coming his way.

Kiyoko’s in the car. She cannot tolerate any of their bullshit but still agreed to ride along.

She’s listening to the music intently until she sees Sugawara sitting off by himself out front to which she joins him for a bite.

Ennoshita seems to be the only one who cares about their whereabouts.

He has his phone open on snapchat as he attempts to relocate the boys using snapchat maps.

Unfortunately for him, snap maps wasn’t that at all distinctive when it came to precise locations.

Eventually he regroups all of the boys except for Tanaka and Nishinoya who seem to still be on the move.

Little did he know, they weren’t in the store to begin with.

They had been kicked out of the store long ago for making a mess out of the christmas display and moved onto better things.

No...no... fuck the christmas blowups.

Because they now had two flatbed trolleys and an entire parking lot to themselves.

I’ll let your imagine run free for that one.

Upon finally leaving, Kageyama’s a little disappointed to find out there was a hotdog stand this whole time and a little more so in himself for not being able to sense it.

But never fear, for Sugawara left him a ketchup packet.

How kind.

Knowing Kageyama, he’d accept it with gratitude and consume it entirely.

💬 kuroppiii ─ “ i decided to write it as a oneshot ! ah hah hah this took a while but we ’re not going to talk about that .. ”

    kōshi glanced down to where your hands were interlocked. bright orange bands were wrapped around your wrists and the sight of them shot excitement through his system. ever since you two planned to have an entire day enjoying fun rides together, he was looking forward to it nonstop. walking to and from school, passing trains morphed into rollercoasters and the distant sound of neighborhood children playing around turned into the joyful noises of a carousel. after all the days of waiting, he almost couldn’t believe it was finally the day.

    suddenly he was strongly tugged forward, which snapped him out of reminiscing and forced him to quickly regain his balance. he refocused his gaze from the wristbands up to where you were in front of him. in the current moment there were no textbooks, no exams, no classmates–just each other. your own excitement was almost surging off of you and it enticed him to blindly follow your lead. he was only able to see the back of your head as you led him through the crowds of the park, but he could clearly picture the cute smile that was definitely on your face–the smile he was absolutely head-over-heels for.

    “ah!” he panics, suddenly realizing the direction you two were going in was the wrong one, “w-wait! y/n, the ferris wheel is this way–”

    kōshi can’t help but laugh at your eagerness and he points in the opposite direction behind him. the sound of his laugh immediately makes you stop and you turn around, slightly confused. kōshi’s laugh was almost like a spell that never failed to put you under a trance. it’s addictive, it’s lovely, and it’s contagious. you end up finding yourself joining him, laughing at your small mistake too. it’s so strange, you think in the back of your mind, the effect he has over you.

    but then without a moment’s waste you start running in the new direction, bringing you along behind him, of course. you can see it in the distance, the big wheel with its colorful seats against the blue sky, and your anticipation is barely even containable. kōshi understands your persistence, he feels it too, but of course his responsible side jumps out after you almost ran right into a stranger. 

    once you quickly apologize to the individual and they leave insisting ‘it’s alright’, you feel a pull at your hand. before you know it, your back hits against kōshi’s chest. you feel his arms wrap around you and heat starts rising to your face. your first instinct is to check if the crowds of people passing by are staring at the two of you, but when they continue moving along to their own amusement park whereabouts, you realize you’re alone on this one. You look up at kōshi and... he’s giggling.

    “kōshi! What are you doing? The line might get too long!” you complain. you make up your concern about the line to hide the fact he’s still making you flustered, even after the many months you have been dating. before your face can grow too pink, you try twisting your way out of his arms but he only laughs more, hugging tighter.

    “i know you’re excited sweetheart, but if you waste all your energy now you’ll end up falling asleep on me too soon. then it’ll just turn into a waste of our money, right?” he said.

    thinking about it, he had a point–but you can’t help but be excited! you haven’t been to this big of an amusement park in a while, you two took time to plan for it, and (little did you know) similarly to kōshi, you haven’t been able to keep it off your mind since you planned it. but you also knew better, and that if you didn’t calm yourself down at least a little bit, kōshi had the patience to stand there with you in his arms and wait for you to ease up. so you stopped squirming with a sigh. you took a moment to breathe before smiling up at him once again.

    “are we going to be careful and not to run into other people now?”

    “...yes.”

    “okay, good!” he finally sets you free and he rejoins your hands together like they were before.

    you two made your way to the ferris wheel holding hands but this time walking side-by-side. he happily listened to you as you rambled on about all the things you were excited to do together throughout the rest of the day until you reached the ferris wheel line. thankfully, the line wasn’t long after all. as you approached the front of the line, kōshi slinged an arm around your shoulders.

    “i hope we get an orange seat,” he says beside you. you chuckle as his head is tilted back, admiring the grand scale of the ride standing in front of you.

    “how school spirited,” you tease. he turns his face to yours feigning offense, and his arm tightens around you.

    “of course!” he dramatically gasps, catching onto your playful tone.

    you both break out into giggles before he looks back at the turning wheel in anticipation. your eyes drift to the ground, a smile still remnant on your lips. what a dork, you think to yourself. but you can’t deny you love him for that silly side, or that it makes your heart race at the thought you’re special enough in his eyes to see that part of him as often as you did. just thinking about it, you were worried he could hear the beating in your chest with it feeling so loud, and with him being so close.

    “green?” kōshi sighs now that you two are at the front of the line. the vibrant green seat waits in front of you, still swaying a little due to the wheel’s abrupt stop, “i’m starting to think i want my money back already.”

    you couldn’t help but scoff, “stop whining you big baby.”

    “your big baby?”

    “i don’t mind taking the next seat, kōshi.”

    “okay, okay!” he surrenders and you two share a laugh. he tugs you gently using the arm he has around you, and the simple gesture sets loose butterflies in your stomach. his laugh lingers in your mind as you two sit down and a worker slings the safety belt across your laps. as kōshi’s voice bounces around your brain, you truly can’t believe this boy just lives in your head rent free all the time. how unforgivable.

    the wheel starts to rotate again, periodically stopping to accommodate new passengers. once you two are both out of sight from the park-goers underneath you, kōshi slips his arm around your waist. he couldn’t help it, he always needs you close, almost like your touch is his lifeline. 

    you both look around in comfortable silence at the shops and rides and people slowly shrinking as your shared seat soars further up. your mind drifts to the conversation during the planning stage of this date, where it was agreed you both were going to take a round on the ferris wheel first, to evaluate which rides you wanted to spend the day on from a bird’s eye view.

    “but don’t dates usually end on the ferris wheel? so I can kiss you at the top and be all romantic like that?” you asked. you were only half-joking about the latter end of your remark.

    “exactly, but that’s why we should go while it’s still bright outside,” kōshi explained, “it won’t be very enjoyable if all the seats are filled with kissing couples. i wouldn’t even be able to see your pretty face in the dark, either!”

    “well aren’t you just such the smooth-talker, lover-boy?”

    when the memory ends, you look ahead to see you’re almost at the top of the wheel. you can almost see the whole park clearly, but the people in the seat in front of you are blocking the way.

    “do you see anything you want to go on yet?” kōshi asks you, and you can hear the screams from a nearby dropper ride as you face him.

    “not yet,” you huff, “i can’t see past the people in front of us... you know, i just realized we could’ve picked up a map at the entrance like normal people.”

    “i know...” he admits, “but I think this is cuter. it’s like going in blindly– it’s like a surprise, y/n! isn't that exciting?”

    you roll your eyes while he turns to look out on his side of the seat and points, “see, there’s this log flume ride I saw over there. do you think you’ll like that?”

    when he leans back to let you have a better view of the attraction, the seat starts to rock. Instinctively you grab onto him, “kōshi!”

    “a-ah, sorry sweetheart!” 

    he looks down at you, and you look up at him. your eyes look panicked, and, feeling a little bad, he runs a hand up and down your arm to try and soothe you, “did I scare you?–”

    Yes–

    “–are you alright?”

     No, you think, I am not “alright”, not when you’re looking at me like that, kōshi–

    “yeah. yeah, i’m... fine.”

     you lied. Because of course you can’t say what you just thought out loud. but it was only a little lie, you reason with yourself. you feel the seat jerk, and the sky is shifting behind kōshi. he breaks out of his concerned gaze as he points out, “hey, we’re reaching the top now!”

     redirecting your attention forward, the people in front of you move down. slowly, a panoramic view of the entire park is revealed to the both of you. a subtle gasp escaped your lips as you straightened in your seat to admire the picturesque sight. kōshi feels his heart swell at your adorableness as he admires the side of your amazed face. it’s only the beginning of your date yet he can see you’re already so happy, and that makes him happy. he doesn’t think when he leans in and kisses your smiling cheek. however, he doesn’t immediately pull back, he keeps his head in place. he begins to speak, and you let yourself lean into the hum of his voice.

    “like what you see? hm, cutie?” he asks, yet knowing the answer perfectly well solely by the look on your face. you can feel him smile wide against your skin when you excitedly nod your head. you feel like you’re going to have a heart attack.

    a flash of purple catches the your eye and you quickly tap kōshi’s shoulder, “oooh kōshi, look! can we go on that one?”

    “which one, sweetheart?” he lifts his head to try and spot what you were pointing at.

    “the rollercoaster with the double loop! can we, please?” you ask with pleading eyes.

    “of course we can!” he replies, bringing you closer to him on the seat happily.

     you spend the rest of the way down pointing at other roller coasters and attractions you could still catch glimpses of, all followed by “let’s go on that one”’s and “that looks fun”’s. not until you were off the ferris wheel and heading towards the purple roller coaster you first agreed on riding, did you realize:

    “wait– kōshi! you stole my move!” you gasp, “you planned that, didn’t you?”

     still holding onto your hand, kōshi gives you a puzzled look, “...what move?”

    “kissing at the top of the ferris wheel!”

     after realizing you were right, he just laughs before tugging your sulky self along to the next ride.

،   そ   ✧   の後    🌱 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗻 ... 

    “that was awesome! i felt like I was going to faint!” you gush while you and kōshi stumble out onto the amusement park path.

    “i think that was my favorite, and that’s only been the first one we’ve been on!” he says in agreement. while he lists his favorite parts of the ride, your eyes drift up to notice how messily his grey hair is sticking up in all sorts of directions.

   you giggle, “kōshi, your hair!”

    “my hair?” he asks back, self-consciously trying to press the mess down. he doesn’t have a mirror to go by so he ends up missing all the messy spots of interest. you shake your head as your hands reach up to smooth out the soft strands yourself. but to your surprise, he then reaches out to do the same thing to you.

    “did you think yours isn't any worse?” 

    you both giggle like children as you get each other’s hair under control. you take notice to how intensely your heart was beating by the time you both pull away and kōshi grips your hand in his. 

    “let’s go on another one!” he quickly says.

     you jump a little where you stand, “you know it!”

    as kōshi leads you to a blue roller coaster nearby, you feel like fainting all over again.

،   そ   ✧   の後    🌱 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗻 ... 

     after four roller coasters, two rounds on a dropper, and feeling damp from a run-through of the log flume, both you and kōshi were starting to feel hungry. you bring this up to kōshi and checking the time, he’s shocked he was so late to getting you two lunch.

    “it’s okay, kōshi, really! i was having so much fun with you, i didn’t even notice. plus, we’re here getting food, that’s all that matters to me right now!” you insisted while you stood in the line for fries.

    “but I can’t believe i almost starved my baby!” he hugged you and apologetically placed a kiss on your forehead, “i’m sorry, please forgive me–”

    once again, you worry that people will notice you two being affectionate. but then you are reminded that everyone’s still occupied with their own amusement park whereabouts, giving you no excuse to try and escape kōshi’s cute antics.

   you sigh, “i’ve already forgiven you three times while in this line alone, kōshi–”

    eventually, you each retrieved your sodas and fries, picking up bags of fluffy blue and pink cotton candy a few stalls down. kōshi takes it upon himself to hold both of the bags while you still finish your fries and drinks. as you walk and eat you look around and notice how it’s getting darker. you feel a bit sad as it dawns on you that you and kōshi’s date was coming to an end. you can’t help but wonder if you could’ve done more, or if you could’ve tried out other attractions. did kōshi enjoy it as much as you did? did the date meet up to his expectations?–

   you hadn’t even noticed you spaced off until you’re snapped out of it by a french fry poking at the side of your mouth.

    “k-kōshi? What are you doing?” you question, jerking back to shift your gaze back and forth between your boyfriend’s face and the fry he had extended out to you.

    “you looked a bit out of it, and you weren’t eating your fries so... i wanted to feed you! i cannot have my baby starving!” he firmly vows. on the outside, you pretend you can’t take his lovey-dovey remark. on the inside, you’re questioning what you must’ve done in your past life to be able to score such a sweet boy in this one. he goes to move the fry again and this time you accept it. it’s the same exact kind of fries you had in your own cup, but it just felt better knowing it was shared from kōshi. you are so very whipped, you concluded, feeling a blush creep onto your face much to your dismay.

    you reach into your own cup and grab a fry, bringing it up in front of his face. he’s taken aback for a moment, not expecting you to return the favor, but soon enough he accepts your fry as well. the edges of his eyes crinkle as he smiles while he chews. curse you kōshi, for being so cute, you think.

    discarding the empty cups when passing by a trashcan, kōshi hands you your bag of cotton candy and you both excitedly rip your bags at the same time. plucking a tuft of the spun sugar in your fingertips, you place it on your tongue and feel it sweetly dissolve. this action repeats until there is no longer any cotton candy, and the bag clings to your hands as you try and shake it off into a trash can.

    “my hands are sticky,” you mumble to yourself. 

    “well then here’s a wipe,” kōshi imitates your whining with a chuckle, pulling out two packet from his pants pocket–one for you and one for himself. 

   lightly glaring at his imitation of you, you stubbornly accept the wipe, “why do you have to be so prepared all the time?”

    kōshi only smiles down at you as he uses his wipe, watching you rubbing away the melted sugar on your hands with a cute pout on your lips in concentration. the sight tugged a fond smile at the edges of his mouth and he can’t stop himself from bending down and touching your lips with his.

    your body froze at the sudden action, but soon you relaxed into his warmth. it was a simple way he had always shown his affection to you, but it can’t seem to ever get old. he held the kiss there for a while longer, before finally pulling away. feeling the absence of touch on your lips, you find yourself slightly leaning forward as he leans back, chasing after him. you eventually need to shake yourself out of your own daze to playfully nudge at kōshi’s side.

   “what was that for?” you softly tease, still clutching your used wipe even though there was trashcan right beside you. it was the only thing grounding you and keeping you from freaking out.

    “you looked too cute, i couldn’t help it–” he stops to lick at his lips, “–and you taste sweet, by the way.”

   “WELL OF COURSE I DO, WE JUST GOT FINISHED EATING–”

    kōshi bursts out laughing and half-heartedly tries to shush you from making too big of a scene among the other park-goers. like always, he manages to calm you down, but that doesn’t mean your face is any less flushed. with the wipes now discarded your hands meet each other like a natural instinct and you start to absent-mindedly stroll around the park.

   “are you still in the mood for a ride?” kōshi asks you.

   “yeah,” you nod, “what did you have in mind?”

    it seems he hadn’t thought it through that far yet because you see him glancing around the area now that you’ve asked. currently, you were both in the children’s area, filled with small and easy-going attractions. kōshi stifles a laugh beside you.

   “how do you feel about the spinning teacups ride over there?”

    you scoff, “we just ate, are you trying to get me to throw up?”

    this time he actually laughs, “am not! hmm... well, what about bumper c–”

   “don’t even finish that question, sugawara,” you cut him short, jokingly using his last name, “you really want to see me ruin this lovely date we’re on, don’t you?”

   “fine, then pick out something you like, sweetheart. anything is fine with me!”

    He pulls you closer to his side by your waist as you continue to walk and leaves loving kisses on the top of your head while he waits for you to spot a ride that peaks your interest.

   “you suddenly can’t get all sappy on me like this after you just tried to sabotage our date!” you complain through giggles, trying to push him away but only resulting in him hugging you closer to him. in the process, your eyes lay on a nearby blur of colors and flashing lights. you take a moment to pause your attempts of fighting back so your eyes can adjust. they focus in and you’re met with a carousel. kōshi is still in the process of trying to smother you, but you can clearly see and hear the happy children that disappear and re-appear to the cutesy jingle emitting from the ride while the horses rotate around the circular platform.

   “kōshi, let’s go on that.” he immediately stops and glances over his shoulder to where you were staring.

   “the carousel?” he asks and you nod excitedly. he smiles, recalling how often he was thinking about the exact same ride before your date, “you’re too cute.”

  “yeah, yeah– c’mon, let’s get in line!” you wave off his cheesy remark before dragging him to the ride’s outer gates.

   after not too long of a wait, the worker checks your orange wristbands at the front of the line and you’re let in.

  “do you want a seat, or a horse?” kōshi asks as you walk along the platform. 

  “is that even a question? let’s get horses!” you say. kōshi happily obliges and follows you onto the platform once you find a horse you like. 

    he steps onto the platform first, extending a hand out to help you up with him. taking his hand, you felt similar to the dozens of little kids around you doing the same with their parents or guardians. it was a silly situation you two were in, third year high schoolers taking a round on a carousel meant for children. but as kōshi holds onto your sides and guides you onto the fake horse before getting on the other next to you, it doesn’t seem to matter at all.

    “my horse is cooler than yours,” you tease, pretending to pet it’s fake blue mane.

    kōshi laughs, “hey! that’s no way to thank the person who helped you onto it in the first place, is it?”

    “not when mine is exceptionally better than yours. it’s even got a cute little tiara! you can’t tell me that’s not cool, kōshi.”

    “yeah? well mine has golden reigns. it doesn’t need to be ‘cool’ when it’s classy–” kōshi is interrupted by the ride’s buzzer suddenly blaring. you both stopped your little argument when you felt the gears of the ride shift, and the area around you began moving slowly. the chime you heard earlier was more detailed, and the lights were brighter now that they were right in front of your eyes. 

  you looked beside you to see kōshi. the different colors danced over him, and the lights reflected in his eyes and made them twinkle. his hair was lightly being pushed back by the rushing wind passing by you on the ride. your horses feigned “galloping” as they were risen up and down, but you found your gaze following kōshi’s face whether you had to tilt your head up and down. you couldn’t keep your eyes off of him. he was stunning.

  his hand comes off of the pole that connected his horse with the carousel’s gears overhead. eyes glancing somewhere in front of the two of you, his hand waves. you already knew it was some kid in front of you, kōshi always loved kids. it was one of the reasons you felt so soft for him.

  he suddenly turns to look at you, catching you staring. it feels like your heart is about to shut down. you can see his pretty eyes widen in surprise for a short second, before he flashes you a smile, because words aren’t needed in the moment. they say eye’s can say a thousand words, so does that mean he was able to read the words in yours? ones of adoration, of love.

  “i think i might love him a little too much,” you think to yourself. but before you can realize you had said that thought out loud, in a voice barely audible for kōshi to catch onto, he raises a brow.

  “‘him’? y/n, who’s this ‘him’?” he asks with a nervous chuckle. his question is lighthearted but you can hear its undertone of concern, which pulls at your heartstrings.

  “it’s you! i– um–” you felt your body warm up, stammering over your words like a little kid, like the ones who were enjoying the ride around you. dear god this boy is making you malfunction. “i was just thinking... about you– i didn’t mean– did I say that–?”

  kōshi laughs, cutting you off of your worried rambling, “you did, out loud. but, i’m glad you weren’t talking about someone else! i was almost worried for a second there, y/n!”

  a bashful and lopsided smile is all you can muster as you feel the ride slow down to a gradual stop. you can hear the buzzer, signaling it was safe to leave the carousel for the next group of people in line. you sigh and suddenly you can breathe again, slumping down slightly to catch your breath and calm down your heartbeat.

 then you feel two hands lightly grip your sides and discover kōshi is trying to help you off the fake horse. the simple gesture steals your breath away yet again.

    the amusement park is much darker now. to compensate, every ride sparkled with flashy lights, inviting visitors in even if some of them were tired at the current hour. cutesy lampposts actually served their function, even when during the daytime they come off as nothing but environmental pieces. there’s a breeze coming in through the pathways that tickles at your exposed skin.

    kōshi’s hand, however, seems to warm up your entire body from simply just holding your hand. he swings it gently between the two of you while the amusement park’s exit is waiting for you... wherever it is. thanks to the lack of the amusement park’s map, you’ve been aimlessly looking for the exit for a while.

    you weren’t completely complaining, since this just meant your little date would be extended a tad bit longer, and kōshi was still by your side, which is something you’d never complain about. admittedly, your steps did feel heavier as you went on, following by kōshi’s lead (which was a total reverse of how your date had begun). it became more and more difficult to keep your eyelids open and to keep up with him. 

    “another dead end, huh?” kōshi muttered under his breath. when he looks back at you, you can make out his knitted brows in the dim lighting of a nearby restroom. this is before your eyes involuntarily start fluttering in an effort to stay awake, that is. noticing this, kōshi takes a step closer to you and cups your cheek with an apologetic look.

    “tired?” he asks you. when you can barely nod your head as an answer, he steps in front of you and ducks down, “go ahead, hop on sweetheart.”

    you hesitate for a moment, a voice somehow still conscious in the back of your mind worrying that by continuing you might tire out kōshi even more from carrying you around. but before you can mingle together a string of words to protest, you catch a glimpse of kōshi’s face. it’s so comforting–inviting, even.

    sighing, you give in and climb onto his back. you wrap your arms around him loosely and you rest your head on his shoulder. his arms automatically hook under your legs and he straightens, feeling you relaxing against him. the warmth you two give each other makes your hearts flutter and you’re thankful what was missing before in the chilly night has been found.

    soon, kōshi starts walking again, seemingly carrying you with ease as he hums an innocent tune. in this moment you remember how dedicated he is to karasuno’s volleyball club, and you start to take notice of his athletic physique against you. you can feel yourself start to blush through the haze of your fatigue. 

    were kōshi’s back muscles always this firm? is he using a different cologne? did he always smell this good? why is your boyfriend so perfect? how dare he look and smell and treat you so perfect?

    these thoughts were interrupted by a soft yawn that escaped you, and you find yourself nuzzling your face into kōshi’s neck. you hope this conveys how grateful you are for him after your sudden realizations since words that are promising enough to be spoken aren’t willing to formulate in your brain, even if he wasn’t aware you were currently thinking these things in the first place.

    kōshi turns his head and places a kiss again your temple while your eyes finally remain closed. he glances down, seeing your orange wristbands were now scrunched up, and the brightness of their pigment had been rubbed off, leaving patchy white blotches that passing lampposts painted to be a calm yellow.

   and finally, for the first time that day, your heart remained calm at the love kōshi gave you, beating steadily as your breathing evened out and you were lulled to sleep by his voice alone.

You go to Niiyama Girls’ High a team that is very well known on the female side of volleyball.

You used to be a player in your first two years of high school but you got a knee injury and couldn’t properly recover so the team had you become their manager so you wouldn’t leave. The Karasuno third years already knew you and the second years had heard of you but the first years have no clue on who you even are.

When you meet them it’s actually right before the Spring Tournament and you wanted to wish your dear brother some good luck. You made quite the first impression to them when you tackled Daichi from behind and sent you both flying to the ground with a large thud. The other two third years greeted you, let it be known that Suga has a crush on you and you know it; you think it’s adorable. You happily greet the team and explain who you are

“Yeah your killjoy of a captain is my twin brother! I’m the manager for Niiyama!”

Tanaka and Nishinoya can fucking feel your chaotic vibe just by the introduction you gave because you were sitting on the small of your brother’s back and not getting up. Suga and Daichi prayed to Asahi for the three of you to never cause chaos but he could tell that was already down the drain. Daichi kind of flung you off of him and toward Suga, don’t ask me how but that man has magic. While everyone watched in horror that Tanka and Nishinoya had a new chaos partner and Daichi cuts you off when the topic of glitter bomb making is brought up (You’re an expert chaos master). Ennoshita can feel a headache coming and is yelling a loud “NO” when glitter bombs are brought up, the other two quiet second years are quietly cackling while recording this mess “Killjoy-in-training and the gossip queens, got it.”

Yamaguchi is kind of scared of you but you have respect for not being scared of Daichi’s wrath. You think he’s adorable and when you meet up with the team in the future you always make sure to look out for the boy. Tsukishima sees you as another simpleton and calls you as such but you wave it off and comment that he’s saltier than McDonald’s fries. You two have a salt round and Kinoshita and Narita are just vibing while Daichi is wonder where he went wrong in life. The team is surprised by how chaotic you are compared to your brother

Hinata thinks you’re awesome and asks what you know about volleyball. You explain you were a former setter who had to quit due to a knee injury (Oikawa who?) Kageyama is wary of you because you kind of remind him of Oikawa but you’re just chaotic?You have two setters who have crushes on you. Yachi is low key terrified of you and your chaos that she hides behind Kiyoko. It breaks your heart that she’s terrified but you know your a bit chaotic

You wish them all luck and to their surprise and Daichi’s displeasure you gave Suga a kiss on the cheek; “If you guys make it to nationals I’ll buy you guys food and Suga, I’ll take you out on a date”. Poor boy nearly faints. Daichi hates how much of a mess you can cause but he loves you to pieces, your his twin sister and the oldest two out of the rest of your family. The team still can’t wrap their head around you being their captain’s twin sister but they can all agree that Suga and you need to properly confess. They cried when you and the third years graduated

#2 Koshi Sugawara || xFutakuchi

You go to Date Tech and was Mai’s best friend. Unlike Daichi no one actually knows your related

You don’t even hide it either but you just don’t interact much when it comes to school but ya’ll will chat at home. You two are called the chaos twins by your parents rather often which is strange because no one expects Suga to be too chaotic He’s a mom

Your team has their suspicions about you and Karasuno’s silver haired setter being related but they never acted on it. You were their manager that would beat their ass when needed and blackmail Futakuchi without hesitation, in fact the teams didn’t find out officially until the Interhigh Prelims when Aone pointed out Asahi for the team. Suga easily spotted you and made a motion to get your player to back off, however, your petty because your brother told your parents about the Date Tech prank you pulled on him, so you didn’t move to interfere. Moniwa did move to defuse your Ace Blocker

“Sugawara-chan! Why didn’t you stop him?”

“Koshi was a bitch and I’m fucking petty.”

“Hey!” *cue laughter*

Karasuno was pretty shocked that you were Suga’s twin but at the same time they could see it. You two didn’t look a lot alike; you took after your father while he took more after your mother. Tsukishima thought you were a bit of an ass and you were T H R I V I N G. You were an ass and you knew it That’s why Futakuchi liked you so much

While you tell your boys to go off you greet your brother’s team. Tsukishima called you an ass—straight up too like no hesitation. You thanked him? You gained his respect. Daichi was wary of you because you were his best friend’s twin and you didn’t act like each other overly much. Asahi thought you were a terrifying creature that could sick dogs on him which you would never do but it gave you something to think about for Futakuchi. Kiyoko liked you because why not? You were an interesting person who dealt with their team accordingly

The second years were varying degrees of respect but Nishinoya was a bit hostile toward you. You damn well knew he was dating the Jesus lookin Ace and gave a knowing look toward your brother.Kageyama saw you as a challenger and asked if you’ve ever played volleyball, you knew the basics but you tended to do archery on the side thank you. Hinata and Yamaguchi were kind of terrified of you but respected you a lot. The true friend you made in a matter of minutes was Tsukishima who you have in your phone as: SALTY FRY 🍟

“Good luck, truly. Get past the first round, I can’t wait to see the outcome of our match, but no hard feelings right Koshi?”

“Of course”

You were upset when your team lost, it was your last year as their manager and they never made it to nationals. You were however happy that your brother did well even if you were a petty shit who glitter bombed his room with the help of Futakuchi. The next year when your team made it to nationals you actually cried and Suga was there to help you celebrate. However once you two start dating people all bets are off and the world is going to hell

You go to Date Tech which in itself is amusing at times

You were there for him when he got shut down by your team but you would never apologize for your team’s victory. You had social anxiety and were a nervous mess half the time which just made Date Tech protective of you. You were their little anxiety filled manager that happened to have a brother who was the ace of a rival team, no big. Everyone on Karasuno knew who you were since you had to drop off your brother’s lunch during your free period with Moniwa coming with you

It was just before the Prelims and when the third and second years saw the Date Tech captain and one of their managers? PANICKING FIRST YEARS. Of course they calmed down when they realized it was just you and an emotional support person. They all thought you were precious and for once in your life you saw Moniwa be protective of you went Hinata and Tanaka came rushing forward. Nishinoya didn’t join because you were his boyfriend’s twin and he knew you had just as much if not more anxiety than your brother. Suga thought you were adorable and found it funny how Moniwa of all people was suddenly protective of you

Yamaguchi was your new best friend (Yachi later on) and you two were just anxiety buddies. You were pretty overwhelmed when Tanaka and Hinata ran up to you with the ginger asking who you were. The yelp you gave out was high and loud while you jumped to hide behind Moniwa. Asahi had to explain that you were his twin sibling . You had yet another team that would protect you like a lifeline like holy shit. You were a bean and needed to be protected

You’re like your brother and are so chaotic that you aren’t a manager your the hype man. Hana loves you and all but you and Terushima drive her nuts, the fact that your dating? SAVE HER. Runa is kind of scared of you but she learns to relax around you pretty quickly. The team loves you but they never realize your brother in Nishinoya Yuu. You have the same last name?

“Babe how are you like super smart but super dumb at the same time?”

Tanaka is the first one to meet you because he’s Nishinoya’s best friend. The three of you are a chaos trio and your poor mother is regretting life choices. When Terushima joins you guys it’s more chaotic even if they are a bit wary

“Bro, how does the piercing even feel?”

The two boys complain about you and Terushima all the time and how their constantly just wheeling your dates. Nishinoya was more wary because your twins and Terushima was known as a bit of a playboy, this is especially clear when your brother’s team met yours a bit before their match. Supposedly Terushima was flirting with Kiyoko and he did so later on. You smacked him upside the head and told him to apologize (he did) and then talked to your brother’s team. Tanaka rushed up and hugged you before yelling at Terushima:

You’re short and these people are trees next to you; your team is just laughing. You greet Asahi as you were well aware of your brother’s boyfriend. The two of you tried not to keep secrets. The team see you as the more collected one of you and Nishinoya, they aren’t wrong of course. Chaos is your middle name but you know when you have to bring your friends back in. Hinata thinks your cool and Kageyama is indifferent alongside Tsukishima. Kiyoko likes you and is surprised that you let your boyfriend flirt randomly until you bring up the fact that you’d flirt with her too. Daichi and Suga find you and your brother to be a lot alike while Ennoshita is just crying, this poor boy. Yachi just kind of stares at you in shock and wonder because you’re so confident

#5 Ryunosuke Tanaka || xEnnoshita

Your whole family went to Karasuno except for you; you went to Shiratorizawa . You weren’t all that chaotic like your brother was but you were much more focused

You had originally been going their on a sports scholarship for swim, butterfly specifically, it’s pretty normal for butterfly swimmers to get their shoulders messed up to the point of needing a surgery to continue. That’s what happened to you. It was a really a slap in the face to the point of “is this what I want to do for the rest of my life?” You had to talk with your family about it, in the end you all agreed it wasn’t worth it

Shiratorizawa let you stay though you were no longer there on a sports scholarship but you had to help out the sports teams, you agreed and ended up applying to be the manager for the volleyball team at the beginning of your second year. The team was a bit surprised to have one of top butterfly swimmers in the country as their manager but you didn’t care. You and Tendo were chaos buddies but never mentioned anything about it

You were pretty responsible and actually met Ennoshita first on accident. You had a project due for history but since the school library was shit —and Shirabu is a bitch for not letting you borrow his book— you went to the local library. You two got along rather well and he even helped you with your project and you bought the two of you dinner before he walked you back to Shiratorizawa. Was it a date? No. Yes

You met the rest of the second years when they were stoping by the house and you needed to pick up something you left there, Tanaka dragged you into his room and show you off to his friends. They all found you to be rather attractive and were surprised when they found out you were twins

“YOU’RE TANAKA’S TWIN?”

“YOU’RE MY BROTHER’S TEAMMATE?”

“How do you two know each other?”

They would later drag you to team bonding and everyone is pretty surprised you’re Tanaka’s twin. They’re more surprised when your still in your manager uniform which was just a Shiratorizawa tracksuit with the volleyball jacket rather than your old swimming jacket. Everyone is trying to set you an Ennoshita up (they didn’t know you had basically been dating since day one). When you re-meet before the war between your schools you wish them luck; You even kissed Ennoshita on the cheek. Tendo and Goshiki shrieked

You were upset when your boys lost but you were so proud of your brother and boyfriend that no one could tell if the tears were happiness or sadness. Your team comforted you before telling you to go celebrate with your brother. You did and you told them you were proud of them though your pride was now wounded

“Next year, you boys won’t stand a chance against my team”

#6 Chikara Ennoshita || xWatari

You go to Seijoh and that in itself is chaos

You and Ennoshita are a lot alike but you do have different interests and a large difference when it came to admirers; Ennoshita wasn’t all that popular with the guys or the gals but you? You were often dubbed the Royal of Seijoh and had been called that since your first year. A lot of people tried to get you to go out with them but you would often ignore them or politely decline which truly fueled a fire under your admirers. They thought you were playing hard to get. Since you were really popular a lot of people could figure out you were related however it never reached Karasuno, you also didn’t get bullied by Oikawa’s fangirl’s because of you school social standings

The first time you met your brother’s team was during the practice match that Oikawa set up. While Ennoshita knew you were the manager he knew you were also rather timely, not long after arrival he noticed you weren’t there and decided to act. He told Daichi he had to ask Seijoh’s coach a question before leaving without another word, the rest of the team was confused. Why was ENNOSHITA going over to Seijoh? Why did they all recognize him?

“Excuse me? But could anyone tell me where (Y/N) is? I’m pretty sure they’re your manager unless you idiot managed to get them to quit.”

“They are at a doctor’s appointment with Oikawa,” Watari replied. “They want to make sure they hears the results so they’ll be deciding if he’s playing if they get here in time.”

Ennoshita had nodded his thanks and returned back to his team. He trusted the libero since you would talk about the boy often so he was very aware of your crush on him

“Why did you go over there Ennoshita-senpai?”

“My twin is their manager and is late, I was just curious.”

“TWIN?!”

“Yeah?”

When they saw you they were rather shocked because you’re stunning. Tanaka actually wonders how you’re related to Ennoshita which causes the other second year to hit him upside the head. Kageyama is wary because of you team and his past but he finds you to be really nice, he loves you like a younger brother when you smack Oikawa upside the head without a second thought. Hinata thought you were pretty cool. Yamaguchi thought you were a bit intimidating with the amount of confidence you held. Tsukishima is pretty indifferent but he finds you to be a rather interesting person.

Kiyoko respects you so much; the boys at Seijoh could give Karasuno a run for their money, she just knows it. Suga and Daichi both adopt you: you’re their kid now and they will go to court against Iwa and Oikawa. You’re in just so you and Watari can be like Romeo and Juliet without the death. Unless it’s Oikawa’s. Watari laughed when you brought it up and agreed. It took you both a solid five minutes to realize what you said. It doesn’t matter which team was on your side they were cackling at you two. Ennoshita had video recorded it and was definitely going to show it at the next family reunion to embarrass you. When you did realize what had been said your faces were RED and everyone was surprised because Seijoh’s Royal finally found their match. You love your teams but sometimes your brother and Oikawa really fucking test you

#9 Tobio Kageyama || xIwaizumi (I skipped Narita and Kinoshita due to space😭)

You go to Seijoh, you see you’re the actual brains of the two of you and he’s the bronze.

You two are so different that no one has any idea who you are. You see, you actually went to middle school in Tokyo since your parents divorced and Miwa took you with her. Now, you’re back in Miyagi and ready to stay for your brother, even if you go to different schools.

I won’t lie, you’re a simp for Iwa but who can blame you? He likes you too but since your two years younger than him and he’s getting ready to graduate neither of you make a move. Seijoh gets really tired of you two dancing around each other and will lock you both in a closet if they have too, they don’t hesitate. It’s kind of scary. No one finds out about your heritage until the practice match and it’s hilarious to see the team’s face. Not only are you the smarter of the two of you you’re the more outgoing and friendly of the two. While Seijoh knew of your feelings for Iwaizumi they couldn’t help but stare when a wide smile broke out onto your face when you saw your annoying fucker of a twin brother(they didn’t know he was your brother yet). You just ran over to Karasuno and tackled Kageyama to the ground laughing when he groans at the impact of the floor, you protected his head from concussion but he was still annoyed. You saw him this morning? Why the hell are you giddy?

“TOBIO-NII! YOU DIDN’T CHICKEN OUT!”

“NO I DIDN’T! GET OFF OF ME (Y/N)!”

The gym was so silent at that and Kageyama had to fling you off of him and the two of you started play fighting and yelling. You had a smile on your face because you loved to rile your brother up but it also helped him take his mind off the game and become less nervous. Karasuno was less surprised than Seijoh because you never mentioned being the King’s sibling? Karasuno at least knew Kageyama had two siblings and they knew one attended Seijoh but they had been expecting someone that was as cold as he was.

You and Hinata get along so well, he’s your new best friend and everyone can feel the innocent chaos radiating off of you. Tsukishima is your second love because anyone who has no problem teasing your brother without any true malice is great. Yamaguchi is startled by your outward behavior but likes you a lot, you’re just so goddamn chipper. The second years think your magical because holy shit Kageyama is smiling so purely? Seijoh is shocked too. The third years kind of adopt you and Kiyoko and you swap numbers so you can contact each other.

When Seijoh manages to whisk you away your fellow first years looked so surprised like the rest of the team. They asked you why you never brought up being the king’s twin but you just shrugged and said you rather be known for you than your brother. The teams are really protective of you and bets are often made between the teams that concern you, in the Interhigh Kageyama made a deal that whichever team won was the team you’d go to school with (you’d have to transfer to Karasuno), since you like both schools you agreed. Seijoh won and Iwa actually swooped you up and kissed you, as upset as Kageyama was he couldn’t fault how happy you were and he was glad you stayed with Seijoh, even if you weren’t with him.

#10 Shoyo Hinata || xShirabu

You go to Shiratorizawa and you’re their ball of sunshine and innocence alongside Goshiki.

Everyone knows you’re related, have you seen your hair? You are much smarter than Hinata and can even be considered a genius by some, that is actually how you met Shirabu. Like Shirabu you didn’t get a scholarship to attended Shiratorizawa so you had to take and pass their entrance exam and since you were one of the few that did you had Shirabu as your guide. You have a lot of energy and stamina like your brother but you don’t have to take the long bike travel like your brother does because you have dorms, but when you do bike you still have energy afterwards.

When you met Karasuno for the first time it was right before the big game and you could tell your brother was nervous so you did the logical thing and tackled him in a hug. It wasn’t hard for anyone to figure out who you were because of your hair but they were still surprised that the shrimp had a smart and good-looking twin. They all liked you and thought you were awesome but when they won that game they were so ecstatic, they looked over at you but they realized you weren’t smiling happily like them, you were crying. They had completely forgot that you were the Shiratorizawa manager until they saw you hugging Shirabu while sobbing at you team’s loss. Hinata was glad you lived in the dorms because you had looked so depressed at the loss that it killed him.

When they saw you again it was when you were on a date with Shirabu in a much happier mood. You both greeted the team and you waved at them with the one not being held by your lovely boyfriend. Poor Hinata was yelling incoherently at the sight of his twin dating the salty setter, they were all surprised. A salty bastard with the definition of sunshine was surprising but none of them argued but they all threatened the future captain not to hurt you. Shirabu was grumbling because he had already heard it from the rest of Shiratorizawa.

“We won’t lose to you next year!”

#11 Kei Tsukishima || xAkaashi

You go to Fukurodani due to your parents being divorced and only seeing each other during holidays.

You meet at the Tokyo summer camp and were proud that your brother had learned to make some friends beyond Yamaguchi who is excited to see you again. You’re brother knew you went to a private school in Tokyo and even had a boyfriend but he hadn’t been expecting you to be one of the three managers from Fukurodani Academy. He had stood their gaping at you in shock that most everyone thought he had fallen for you based on your looks alone but Yamaguchi was quietly laughing at the scene while amusement played in your eyes.

“Hey Tsuki!”

You nearly laughed your ass off, “hey Yams!”

“YOU HAVE A TWIN?”

Tsukishima is actually pretty protective of you and is counting on Akaashi to get you away from his idiot teammates but they both fail, no matter how hard they try because you have to meet them in the end that’s the point of this post damnit. The team likes you a lot and Hinata loves how you’re not mean to him and Kageyama loves the advice you give him about his sets. You’ve been adopted but Tokyo would never let you go so you just help them out and exchange numbers. They love you no matter what and will invite you to hang out with them when they know you’re in town. You make Tsukishima so much happier when your around because you’re two halves of a whole

#12 Tadashi Yamaguchi || xKunimi

You go to Seijoh but you’re extremely quiet so no one notices you’re there

Kunimi has class with you and asked you to become their manager and so you were, no regrets most of the time. Oikawa tries to flirt with you but you hide behind Kunimi who is silently laughing at the offended look on his captain’s face. Seijoh would die for you and I’m not being dramatic they would die for you and thought they knew a lot about you. They didn’t know you and Yamaguchi were related because they’ve never heard of the boy. You don’t really talk about it unless asked because you don’t go off sharing information about your private life.

When the practice match comes around you quietly go over and hug your twin who hugs you back; ya’ll are soft twins. When parted Tsukishima will give you a head pat while Yamaguchi introduces you to his team. You’re so shy and quiet that they all want to protect you, Kageyama does too but he’s wary. It is clear enough to him that you’re involved with Kunimi but you aren’t hostile to him but give him a small comforting smile before taking your brother to be introduced yo your team. Seijoh finds the two of you to be an adorable pair of siblings and is careful in greeting your brother because they don’t want to face your wrath.

“Good luck Dashi! You too Tsuki!”
