It’s so fucked up and a shame that there’s this overarching narrative in the hegemonic culture of the United States which sees areas of Africa (especiallyWest African cultures) as “underdeveloped” in order to continue justifying the centuries old colonial rule and oppression. Meanwhile, here in Alabama, one of the poorest countries has a hookworm epidemic that our state government doesn’t care about because of the racism that circles back to all of these systemic issues that colonialism has created.

This is such a great reminder for those of us who pursue our creativity. All along the way, there are ups and downs emotionally, peaks and valleys productively, and moments in between where you feel alignment and off track.

Creativity and ingenuity is innate to us, even in this capitalist hellhole, they’ll be around long after this paradigm of human history.

Caranthir Headcannons

Here is a mix of some of my favourite hc I’ve seen both from others and some if my own (please feel free to add credit where due - I am really sorry but can’t find the original posts to credit hcs that aren’t mine) for Caranthir; I’ve seen this done a few different ways, and I hope this works!

Favourite HC I Found:

Caranthir is very sensitive to (everything) light - especially the super special light the elves originally get, and began his descent into textile-madness after exploring ways to help block out the light

I love this - and personally, though of course elves are different, kind of jump off that to also take him as being either on the spectrum, or spectrum-adjacent, and having his interest in fabric be a way for him to help himself with the sensory issues that can be sooo annoying.

Romantic HC:

He does get married, likely in a more human sense than elves (or a mix of both). I personally think he would have kids, (I know some ship him with Haleth - I don’t particularly mind either way) and the kids and wife would have stayed in his lands, and although it does break my heart, most/all were slain when his lands were destroyed

Craft HC:

Kind of already mentioned, but he would be the textile child (as a textile lover as well, I am likely slightly biased) and would be really good at mixing different fabrics and styles from different species etc

Family HC:

Middle child. Need I say more?

I think he’d feel too much responsibility for the twins and Curi (though of course Feanor would be very involved with Curi, and Mae would be very hands-on with the twins too). I think he would work a lot with Curi though, to help match pieces of jewellery with clothes (esp when making gifts for family)

Extra HC:

I can’t remember who I saw this from - but he wears a LOT of rings. One for each family member, one for himself/his success, his wedding band (though I would like to take the original hc and have his wedding band be his father’s band). I think he probably would never tell his brothers what the rings are for (unless very drunk) and would either have the rings made for him based off of his brothers, get then somehow from his brothers, or some mix. And he has one made for him by Celebrimbor - one of the first things he makes for someone else!

I think gideon's tits are so big that kremy can fit his whole snout into the gap between them. and when the world feels like a cold and harsh place and the ectotherm blues sets in he'll just bury his whole face in there until life seems a bit kinder

Hi okay so I have a lot to say here and normally for ask responses that are really long, I would do a read more because I don't want to clog up my follower's dashboards but in light of the content of my response, I'm going to skip the read more because I want people who follow me to understand the way I am going to run my blog and what I will and will not tolerate, as well as a couple of things to understand about me.

First and foremost - thank you for enjoying my work. Readers are incredibly important to this website and those of us who write, so thanks for spending your time on things I've written. Additionally, thank you for taking a second to tell me that you appreciate my work.

This is where my gratitude is going to end. Please understand I know you aren't trying to be hateful, but here is why this entire ask is an issue.

I am bisexual. As in, I like other genders, including my own. I identify as queer, and that is something very new and scary to me and something I have been embracing since 2022, and struggling when coming out to people who have always known me as straight. So while you may not realize that "I like your fics but queer fics makes me uncomfortable" is internalized homophobia, it is. I will address the "assumes sexuality" in a second, but I want to reemphasize that if you read my bio, you can literally see that I'm queer and deduce that going out of your way to tell me that queer content makes you uncomfortable is incredibly hurtful to me - to the effect that writing this response has me in tears.

We are free to curate the spaces that make us comfortable. You are WELL within your right not to read mem x mem content. But please do not go out of your way to tell me you specifically aren't reading my queer content or intend not to. It makes me feel weird, it makes me feel like it's because you don't like members of the gay community (WHICH I AM A PART OF!!!), and it just... costs nothing to skip those in silence, you know?

Now onto your reasoning. Because it "assumes sexuality". This is an inherently heteronormative statement. Assuming that heterosexual relationships are the default, the norm, or the standard alienates the millions of people across the globe who are not straight. It places us in another category of "not normal", and gives people permission to treat us as less than.

When people say things like "assumes sexuality" it is literally ONLY EVER IN REGARD TO QUEER RELATIONSHIPS. The same argument has to be applied to heterosexual relationships if we're going to use this rhetoric. So we can assume they're whatever we want and it's fine but only if they're in male-female relationships?

It's cherry-picking, and it's damaging and hurtful.

I beg you to consider what bothers you about queer media, whether it is a learned behavior, and if you can unlearn it. Members of the queer community have to fight for spaces every single day, and this blog is NOT one I will allow to have taken away from me.

At the end of the day, read what you want. I have a feeling that this ask was not AT ALL meant to warrant this response or to make me feel some type of way, which is why I really want you to consider how telling people that queer media makes you uncomfortable sounds, presents, and makes those people feel.

everyone praising dave filoni needs to retake a look at the clone wars lmfao. compare the movie actors to the “stylization” of the clone wars - they get rid of hayden’s nose for a ‘button’ one, they do not know how to animate people of color, they whitewash the characters of color (both by making them white and also not letting them have the features we usually do), they gave the two primary villains (sidious and dooku, as well as the bankers from that one arc) exaggeratedly hooked noses that the original actors do not have (to that extent). outside of the movies as reference, they have barriss as the one who blows up the temple, they were lazy with their design for satine and the mandalorians (you know. the people who were meant to decanonize the fetts. they took it so lightly.), and the few human characters of color we see are more often than not killed off. these are all mostly design choices alone, not even really getting into how they downplay slavery and so, so many other weird writing choices with clashing themes to other episodes.
