Siege. An organization of government elitists that held unimaginable power. They cleaned up political messes, made people disappear while the cops looked the other way, and worst of all.. they gave people like you a “second chance.”
That was the term they used to coerce you into accepting your fate. Being a nobody with no emotional connections made you an easy target. First they track you down and erase your identity, then it’s off to a training facility that made marine boot camp look like a dream.
In lighter terms you were a field agent of sorts but everyone in the facility knew the truth. They were training you all to be mercenaries.
Less than fifteen seconds to disarm bombs and only ten to assemble an automatic rifle. You were a dog of the government, that was your only purpose. Don’t ask, don’t stop, and don’t miss. Those were the rules of Siege.
“Who’s the target?” you inquired.
A few seconds of scattered typing and Seungmin was quick to respond, “Seo Changbin, right hand of SK9 . Objective is to infiltrate and eliminate.”

She looks to you with a triumphant look on her face as she practically yells with the door still closing, “I got an A on my fucking paper!” The door slams shut as she does a weird and awkward dance.
“Good job. I knew you could do it,” you congratulate, saving your work on your computer.
Ari kicks her backpack with no care in the world as to what she has inside. “Let’s celebrate,” she extolls, pulling off her hoodie and tossing it on her bed.
You turn your body to the left where she stands, picking up her backpack and putting it on her bed. “Celebrate?”

It has always been so difficult for you to express how disconnected you feel with your own life. Through months and months of therapy you’ve received, none of the diagnoses ever seemed to make perfect sense. Often times when you describe your hurdle, of seeming to be awakened one day into a stage of your life then continuing on as you do not recall anything of your childhood: how you grew up, the people you’ve met, and the tiniest details of your being, they have always tried to pin it down to some psychosis. You even took a few CT-scans to prove that there were no dysfunctional parts in your brain, and some suggested you had amnesia of some sort - but none of them could tell how it came about.
This mystery of a life you have been living has been going on for a year, and in each moment of confusion you never truly understood who you were and how you became this shell of a person. There was a never ending quest of you trying to find out why you felt so out of place.
