Martin tries not to pay much attention to anomalies. That will be better for everyone. He does not want problems and certainly - death. He knows that his place of work is not the safest, but he needs money, especially with his mother's gradually deteriorating condition. He just has to clean the complex and be careful.
The object, whose code number he, to be honest, did not remember, but prefers to call the Gaze, due to his constant observation, is different from the others. Martin knows how stupid and clichéd this is, but as he cleaning in the cage of the Gaze, he feels a strange calmness, as if the weight of being alone is gone for a moment. He heard that Gaze can talk, but he is silent and that suits Martin, he is not picky. They spend Martin's cleaning time in quiet company, and although Gaze continues to stare at him unblinkingly, Martin finds this look almost..gentle?
As time goes on, Martin grows more accustomed to the Gaze and becomes more convinced of its humanity, especially when he finally speaks to him.
