So I finally fulfilled my dreams of watching Cats 2019,, impossibly cursed,, but it has sparked an intense obsession with the stage musical 👀

Cats the Musical
I've loved the musical for a while. I love the songs and choreography. My favorite cat being Tugger.
These are the most recent art. I have an old book filled with Cats drawings but it'll take quite a bit of art dumps to share it lol.

I found the old sketchbook and...there was less than I expected lol. A good chunk was making different family trees for the cats and playing around with my genderbent versions of Tugger and Misto lol (Mostly Tugger).
This joke came from the "Shine bright like a corn" from the revivals videos in What's New Pussycat. Last picture has my genderbent Tugger peeking out lol. They're butter for 1981, Mustard for 1982, Mac and Cheese for 1998, and of course corn for 2016.

So, at one point I did watch the movie. (My college had a thing where you could watch certain movies for free on an official website if you were a student) Originally to hate watch but I did in the end kinda enjoy it. Was Misto less sassy...yes. was Bustopher gross...yes. But! I loved Cassandra. For the Musical Tugger is my favorite, but Cassandra is my favorite in the movie. When she eventually got cat nipped I felt so bad for her. I also like to think that her and Demeter are together since they're always close to each other. And I also headcannon that Deut adopted both Cassandra and Munkustrap. I also have this whole theory about Cassandra, Grizabella, the windmill girls and Macavity 's girls.
My theory is pretty much based on a poster of the windmill girls. Since Cassandra shows so much hostility, I thought that her and Grizabella were close...until something happened. Looking at Macavity's girls, they kinda look like Cassandra. The windmill girl poster has a moon and 4(can't remember on the top of my head) girls dancing. The moon represents Grizabella while the girls dancing were Cassandra's sisters. Because of what Grizabella (and probably Bombularina too) did, Cassandra lost her family and now has issues with trust. How can she be sure Victoria won't betray them like Grizabella? What is she loses her family once again? It's why she is so fierce and protective. It's why she didn't necessarily attack Bomba when Macavity's girls started to circle her. They're still her sisters and she doesn't want to hurt them.
Somehow everyone in my friend circle decided that Mistoffelees, Rum Tum Tugger, and Victoria are in a love triangle. Our cast had a marriage ceremony for Misty and RumTum. Gay cats for the win!!!
did Cats (2019) cut the gay wizard cat with no lines who shoots lightning bolts from his fingers and explodes?
