LOVING ROCKET

Rochelle (Rocket)
Jane (Janie)
Makoto

Rochelle Dean - 21 years old. Her girlfriend is kiiinda obsessed with her, sort of keeping her prisoner/hostage. She wants out, see 'good ol' hearted Janie' as her way out. Makes Janie believe that she needs to be saved and that she's in love with her.

Jane Sanchez - 27 years old. Ex-Military (Dishonorable discharge) and now bodyguard for Rochelle Dean, girlfriend of Makoto Beaufort (Boss Lady). Makoto falls for Jane, Jane is falling for Rochelle and Rochelle wants fucking OUT.

Makoto Beaufort - 32 years old. Fell in love with someone's daughter who was not in love with her. She's dangerous, a lil neurotic and incredibly aggressive. Falls in lusttt with Janie and since she has an obsessive personality, it drives her over the edge.

So this is not a complete story, more of characters that I centered a story around. I just know that Janie dies, killed by Rocket and at the end it's just Makoto and her pointing guns at each other with their fingers on the trigger. (That's it, that's how it ends! DRAMA!)

Is there a story where the Love Triangle (it's an Arrow let's be real) turns into polyamory? Like is that a thing? It needs to be a thing. If its not a thing we should make it a thing

Okay but imagine-

Person B and Person C are fighting over the love of person A-right? Person A likes them both, doesn't want to choose-seems typical right? This is the main conflict-right?

But then- B is noticing the cute way C scrunches their nose when they think and C thinks it's cute that B used to want to be a singer or something.

A, B, and C are hanging out and then B is like "oh shit" and C is like "oh shit" and A is all like "so now I don't have to choose?" and then they figure out how to relationship.

The sequel is them dealing with prejudice while they figure out how a poly relationship can work.

Just a thought

Disclaimer: This writing is a work of fiction, and no disrespect is meant for those mentioned herein.

A/N: ⚠️ Important ⚠️ Class, gather round -- we have some things to discuss. I'm not angry, just... disappointed. *dramatic music*

First off, I want to address something with asks: as I've stated before, there's no certain amount of time that any one request will take me. Sometimes I'm more inspired by one than others, and sometimes I legitimately lack the time or brainpower to write a piece that holds true to my standards.

Please, refrain from messaging me multiple times about a request. Once is fine, especially if it's been awhile since you first asked, but I'm doing my best to give you starving fans the content you wish to see, and that takes time.

To those of you who continue to be patient with me: I sincerely appreciate it.

Secondly, I hope you enjoy this. ♡ Happy Reading ♡

PS ~ Anon, I still love you. Now enjoy this fic or you're grounded.

"Thank you," you politely say to your driver, handing him some money before stepping out of the sleek black car and onto the sidewalk. The bottoms of your shoes crunch lightly as they come in contact with the concrete, steadily announcing your course towards the performance hall.

You let out a breath as you stand in the elevator, alone with your thoughts in the small space as it ascends.

Your hands nervously palm the fresh bouquets of flowers you purchased on your way here -- the girls just finished a comeback stage, so you've decided to surprise them and show your love. You spent time picking out a personalized batch for each of them, making sure to mix their favorite colors and types, but you went even further for Rosé: you hand picked a larger, special array, choosing them based on their meaning and how much you think she'll appreciate them. Over the years, you've made sure to note her favorite ones; that came in handy tonight, and the florist assisting you definitely appreciated your attention to detail.

Too chicken to go to her first, you decide to bring the other girls their gifts now and save Rosie for last. All of them are unwinding independently in their dressing rooms right now, enjoying some much needed alone time before coming back together later to celebrate.

"Jisoo-yah!" You sing-song, rapping lightly on the door. It's slightly ajar, but you still knock out of respect for her privacy.

In an instant, the door swings open to reveal a very happy unnie. "Y/N! I've missed you!" She nearly shouts, pulling you in for an eager hug. A surprised noise leaves her lips as her hands come in contact with the bundle behind your back, crinkling the plastic slightly in her excited state.

"I got you a present," you say, smiling softly. Jisoo can feel the way your cheeks raise up, brushing against the skin of her neck as your head rests there, and her heart melts. After pulling out of the embrace, she wiggles her eyebrows at you.

"Well? Let me see!" You do as she asks with a chuckle, pulling her bunch out of the hold of the rubber band that's keeping them all together. "I got your favorite." You grin, sticking them out for her to see. Her eyes widen at the sight, and she's touched by the kind gesture. Flowers aren't particularly unique in terms of what companies and fans send them, but seeing the effort you put in makes it incredibly special. She couldn't be happier.

"Y/N, you're the best." She presses a small kiss to your cheek as a thank you, and invites you in right after. Jisoo considers you to be one of the closest friends she has, so being apart hasn't been easy on her. You're the only person she's okay with venting and crying in front of, and she's been needing that lately. Sensing this, you pull a chair up to her vanity and let her fill you in on all the mayhem you missed out on during your time away, holding her hand for reassurance. When she gets a little frustrated, you rub her back gently, telling her to take her time.

Jisoo is beyond thankful for you, and that becomes more and more apparent the closer you two get. Times like these hold a special place in her heart and remind her of why she loves you so much. You truly are a great friend to have, and there's no one she'd rather have in her corner.

----

"Incoming! 3...2...1…" You call out, standing in front of Lisa's door, ready to knock it down and barge in. The greeting is an inside joke between the two of you, though neither of you know where its origins lie.

"Yah! Hold on!" She shouts, nearly tripping and falling from how quick she rushes to the door. You laugh at the sounds of chaos coming from inside, wincing slightly when a thud rings out. Hair slightly disheveled, she opens the door with a huff. "This had better be good, because I almost died."

Wordlessly, you reveal her present and smirk as the halfhearted scowl on her face disappears completely, giving way to a dopey grin. "You remembered?" She asks quietly, running her fingers over the petals of her all-time favorite flower. The fact that she sounds so shocked makes you sad -- not many people take enough time to notice the little things. They'd rather focus on profiting off of the girls' talents than actually caring enough to get to know them.

"Of course I did, Lisa. You're one of my best friends; how could I forget?" The maknae pulls you in for a meaningful hug, allowing the gesture to tell you all the things she doesn't know how to express. She's not always the best with her words, but she makes up for it with her actions.

"I really love you, dork. You know that?" She asks as she pulls away, ruffling your hair lightly. She cracks that smile that seems to make the world stop, and you just shake your head.

"You'd better. Your flowers were the most expensive!" You tease, dodging her when she reaches out to grab you for that one.

"Get back here!" She shouts, chasing you down the hall like a 5 year old, planning to get her revenge.

---

"Jendeukie, open up!" You squeal, pounding on her door while throwing a look over your shoulder. Lisa is dangerously close, ready to tackle you as she continues charging down the hall.

"Y/N?!" She exclaims from the other side of the door, clearly not expecting you to be here.

"Hurry!" You can hear footsteps eagerly rushing towards the door, and just as she opens it, disaster strikes.

Lisa's arms wrap around your waist, pushing you forward and right into Jennie. The three of you fall into her dressing room in a messy heap, limbs splayed in various positions as you yell together on the way down. You manage to keep the flowers out of harm's way, thankfully, and your arm remains stuck out just in case Lisa tries anything else.

"Hello to you, too, Y/N." Jennie groans with a chuckle, the words coming out a little strained from all the weight on her. Lisa stands first, pulling you up right after, and you turn to help your best friend up as well.

"I sure know how to make an entrance, huh?" Your lopsided grin makes Jennie weak in the knees, much like it has ever since she met you all those years ago, and she has to fight to contain the blush that rises to her cheeks. After bantering with Lisa for a few more moments you eventually push her out of the room, shoo-ing her back to her own in order to give yourself some one-on-one time with Jennie.

You stick your tongue out at the maknae one final time before shutting the door and turning around, finding a very soft looking Jennie peering back at you. Her cheeks are pulled back in her signature gummy smile, and the fluffy sleeves of her Chanel sweater engulf her small hands as she cradles her face in them.

Perhaps, if circumstances were different, you'd be hopelessly pining for this 5'4" angel instead of Rosé. Love knows no logic, though, and you're stuck chasing after a certain Australian beauty that never seems capable of giving you the time of day.

"I missed you," she pouts, pursing her lips adorably as she steps forward to wrap her arms around your shoulders. You pull her in and pick her up with a spin, smiling into her neck when she giggles in your ear.

"Well, I'm here now. And luckily for you…." you start, allowing for some anticipation to build, "I come bearing gifts. Well, a gift. Singular." Jennie chuckles at your rambling -- it's one of the traits she finds most endearing about you, and she always hates it when people cut you down for it. It's adorable in every way.

"Oh?" She asks, intrigued as she raises an eyebrow -- she's keeping the act up for you, of course, too fond of the cute smile on your face to tell you that she already knows what it is. You hand over the flowers with a little jig, too excited by how happy she looks to contain yourself.

"They're beautiful, Y/N." She stops herself from adding a, "just like you," to the end of the phrase, wishing she was able to say things like that. You deserve to be reminded of how special you are everyday, and she knows her bandmate fails to do so.

"So, what've you been up to?" You amble over to the couch that's tucked away in the corner of her dressing room, plopping down onto the cushions with a small bounce. Rosé's flowers lay beside you, and Jennie eyes them.

"Same old, same old," she says, finally looking back at you with a tiny grin. "Practice for the comeback has kept us really busy lately, and somebody hasn't been there to tell us jokes at 3AM and keep us going." She playfully rolls her eyes, pretending to be annoyed.

"My most sincere apologies," you hold a hand over your heart in mock regret, bowing your head with closed eyes. "On the bright side, though, I'm back in town for next month or two. I finished the business deals we had to handle abroad, so now I'm all yours."

She knows you didn't mean hers, but that doesn't stop her from pretending.

A happy noise of approval slips past her lips, and she claps excitedly. The sight reminds you of some of the childhood videos she's shown you, the two looking eerily similar to one another. No matter what may happen in her life, Jennie will most certainly remain that innocent young girl at heart, getting scared by everything that moves and loving with her all. She's an amazing person to know, and part of you feels sorry for everyone who'll never get the privilege of knowing her personally -- after all, everyone deserves a Jennie Kim in their lives.

"Are you celebrating with us later?" She asks from in front of her mirror, now brushing her hair to busy herself. She runs the risk of making her feelings too obvious if she doesn't keep herself occupied.

"I was planning to, yes. But that might depend on Rosé." You inform with a nervous chuckle, an anxious smile playing on your lips. When you look up and find her brows furrowed, you elaborate.

"I'm gonna try to ask her out today when I bring her these flowers." You lightly chew your bottom lip out of habit, rubbing your hands together. The mere thought of such a task is daunting, especially with your not-so-perfect track record when it comes to her. You still try to cling to what little hope you have squirreled away in your heart, wishing with all your power that your sweet present will convince Rosé to at least give you a chance.

Distracted by your thoughts, you don't notice the way that Jennie's face falls. Her heart is breaking in silence, splintering into pieces far too small to put back together. She knew this day would come eventually, given that you're a determined person and head over heels for Rosé, but that doesn't mean she was prepared to find out like this. The lovesick glimmer in your eye hurts Jennie even more, knowing that you're probably imagining what it would be like for her to say yes to you. This whole time, Rosé has been stringing you along -- giving you just enough hope to keep coming back to her, using your devoted acts of kindness selfishly -- and Jennie would do anything to make you see that. You don't deserve what she puts you through.

"...Earth to Jennie!"

The brunette snaps back to reality and clears her throat, attempting to gather her thoughts again.

"Sorry, just got lost there for a second." She says, looking back into your eyes after a moment. A curious look plays in them, and she can practically see you debating on whether or not to question her further. She lets out a quiet sigh of relief when you accept her answer, choosing instead to smile at her.

"It's alright. But what's not alright, is that I've been sitting here for 5 minutes and you haven't come over to cuddle me. I mean seriously, a girl's gone for forever and her best friend doesn't bombard her with love?" You shake your head with an amused smile, throwing your hands in the air.

Oh, the things she would do to change that title.

Successfully suppressing the pang of longing that runs through her, Jennie quips back, "A month and a half is hardly forever, Y/N."

"It felt like it, though. I missed seeing you."

She finds you pouting, your arms folded across your chest like a toddler, and her heart melts. Any amount of time without you is too long for Jennie's liking, and she's happy to know you missed her as well.

"Fine, I guess I can spare some cuddles." She pretends to be put out as she approaches you, really playing the part by huffing and looking uninterested. Inside, though, she's celebrating. She can't wait to hold you close again, even if it may lead to her hurting herself with the what-ifs and scenarios that play in her mind.

"Yay!" You shout, pulling her into your lap before laying your head on her shoulder. Her heart beats rapidly at the proximity, and she prays to every higher power in existence that you don't notice it.

She relaxes after a moment, releasing the tension from her muscles as she sinks into your embrace. It's warm and comforting, and she never wants you to let go. Her head rests on top of yours, and she's content just running her hands through your hair, feeling your calm breaths against her skin.

She's so in love it hurts.

-----

This'll convince her, you whisper to yourself, attempting to sound confident -- key word: attempting. If there's one thing you know about Rosé, it's that she loves to be difficult with you. You caught feelings for her years ago when you were first introduced to each other at a company event, and ever since then you've done nice things for her nonstop, hoping that she'd fall for you with time. The longer you wait, though, the more discouraged you get. Regardless, those times that she appreciates your efforts make up for all the rest, and you'd gladly take 100 instances of the "bad" in order to have even just one of the "good".

After taking a deep breath, you knock on the door a couple times.

A sigh can be heard, sounding like a complete 180 from the reactions of the other girls. The subsequent footsteps are heavy -- like she's dragging her feet, not even wanting to get up in the first place -- and they work to dishearten you a bit. Nevertheless, you imagine how happy she'll be when she sees the surprise, and a small smile makes its ways onto your lips. All you want to do is brighten her day, if only for a moment.

An indifferent expression rests on her face when she first opens the door, likely expecting someone else to be standing in your place. Not much changes when she realizes it's you, though a sliver of a smile does quirk up at the corner of her lips.

"Hiya Rosie," you greet sweetly, unable to contain how wide your smile grows at seeing her again. She makes you feel like a giddy school girl, and you can't decide if you love it or hate it.

"What's up?" She asks, more out of common courtesy than anything else. Her body leans against the doorframe, her left arm resting behind the door. She didn't throw it open or invite you in like the other girls, so that tells you that she probably doesn't want visitors.

When you take too long to answer, she asks dryly, "Are you just gonna stare at me?" Her voice is laced with a slight undertone of annoyance -- one that makes you shrink down a bit. You can practically hear how exhausted she is, and part of you feels bad for disturbing her with your presence.

"N-no, sorry." You curse yourself for looking like a fool. "I got you something that I think you'll enjoy." Her eyebrows raise slightly and you can tell she's intrigued, even if she may try to deny it.

"Here." You declare, nervously fixing the plastic as you hold the bundle in front of you. You want it to look perfect for her.

"I, uh, hand picked it."

"Thank you, it's lovely." She says politely, taking them from you and bringing them up to her nose. She admires the gentle, pleasant scent of them, and smiles appreciatively at you.

You blush under her gaze, slightly tripping over your words as you respond, "Of course, I'm glad you like it."

Now, the part you dread: when the conversation dwindles down, threatening to end entirely unless you step up to keep it going.

"Well, how've you been?" You cringe at the overused question, but you're willing to employ it in order to hear her sweet voice for a little longer.

"Look, Y/N, I really appreciate the gift and all, and I'm really happy to see you again, but I don't feel like talking right now. I just want to enjoy myself for a little bit." Her denial makes you scrunch your face up, embarrassed beyond belief as her words sink in. You should've known that flowers wouldn't suffice. Perhaps that last line stung the most -- you try not to read too far into it, but the idea that she doesn't enjoy herself when talking to you nags at your heart.

"Yeah, yeah. For sure." You scratch the back of your neck, awkwardly taking a step away from her door and back into the hallway.

"I'll see you at the get together later though, right?" You ask, kicking yourself when you realize how hopeful you sounded. You have to get better at hiding it.

"Sure," she nods, sending you a smile and little wave before saying goodbye and shutting the door.

Well, that was a bust. Damn. Back to the drawing board, it is -- though your ego will need a few hours to recover.

---

"Lisa, I swear to god, if you come near me with that I'll punt you across this room."

Your very serious, totally-not-exaggerated warning evidently worked against you, because the maknae soon raises her head to look at you, grinning like a maniac. Frosting from the cake she just messily cut into covers her hands, looking threatening as she wiggles them at you.

"I mean in!" You shout as a last resort, slowly backing away. You accidently bump into Jennie in the process, but you fail to realize that it was part of the plan all along: she and Lisa are in cahoots. When the maknae lunges, swiftly striding across the room towards you, you attempt to move out of her path and get somewhere safer. Steady hands on your waist keep you anchored in place, though, and you try to fight them.

"Jennie?! Let me go, she's right there!" You squeal, trying to pry her fingers off of your hips one by one. She merely laughs, whispering a sorry into your ear right before Lisa's hands run across your cheeks and neck. You squirm, leaning further back against Jennie to evade the younger girl as she does her worst.

Now, practically having a face mask of frosting, you step away from the girls and glare at them.

"Bullies, I tell you." You say to Jisoo, groaning when she busts out laughing. It doesn't take a genius to know that you look a mess, and you'd probably laugh at yourself if the roles were reversed. The others soon join in, and a chorus of belly laughs fill the air around you.

"Go ahead, laugh it up," you tell the girls, nodding your head, "Just wait til I get my revenge. I'm coming for you, Manoban." You point a finger at her as you exit the room, grinning when you hear the oooo's that they let out at your threat, and you make your way to the bathroom at the end of the long hallway before you.

On your way back, you hear Rosé's voice filtering in from one of the lounge rooms that branch off of the main corridor. Intrigued, you stop walking and listen in.

Big mistake.

Your ears perk up when you hear your name roll off her tongue, though her subsequent sentences crush your spirits.

"...I know, right? She's honestly so annoying. Like earlier, I was finally getting cozy after our performance and then she just showed up."

Too shocked to leave now, you stay where you are and try not to let her words hurt you too much. She listens to the person on the other end of the line, laughing at something they said. That sound -- one you’ve grown to love more than anything else in the world -- is turning into something you hate. It feels like she's laughing at you; which, in hindsight, she probably is.

"Exactly! She had flowers for me, as if I don't get those almost everyday already, and I guess she really thought that that would win me over. It was sweet but, c'mon, you know?"

Every insecurity you have is nagging at you, and you can't stop the few tears that roll down your cheeks at her brutal honesty. She's really hurting your feelings, and you can't help but want to call her out for it. So, you do just that: you step into the open room, one that lacks an actual door, and say, "Next time you wanna talk shit about someone, maybe you should make sure they're not around to hear it."

Her smile falters slightly, and she spins around to face you. A hint of guilt plays on her features, but you're sure it's only because she got caught -- she definitely meant everything she said.

"Y/N--"

You don't stick around to listen to what she has to say. Her change of behavior surprised you, and you can't trust that she's even sorry for it.

Your pace quickens as you hear her voice become clearer -- she's in the doorway now, calling after you, but you don't even turn around. The salt of your tears greets your tongue, and you're once again reminded to wipe your face as you rush down the hall, rounding a couple corners and darting past countless doors on your way. You just want to get out of this place and be alone.

A new voice slows your strides as it greets your ears, feeling like a security blanket in its gentleness. It's Jennie. "Y/N? Why are you crying?" She came to look for you when you took too long to return from the bathroom.

You're far too embarrassed to look at her, so you simply sniffle and raise a hand up in her direction. "Don't worry about me, Jen. It's not important."

"Hey, yes it is. You're upset and that matters." She steps towards you, saying the words that you had no idea you needed to hear so badly. Your heart aches, still shocked by the fact that Rosé would say such things about you. You thought you were friends, if nothing else, and yet that's never felt further from the truth than it does right now.

When you don't move away, Jennie takes that as a sign to bring you into her arms, cradling your head against her chest. The kind act hurts your heart more for some reason, and you want to pull away. Jennie senses this and decides to rub soothing circles on your back, her warm embrace comforting you as she says, "I don't know what happened, Y/N, but I'm right here. We don't have to talk about it if you don't want to, either, but please don't leave like this. I hate to see you upset."

Something about the way she's holding you, so close and tenderly, is comforting beyond belief and you can't find the desire to leave anymore.

"Can we at least go to your dressing room? I don't want everyone to see me like this."

"Of course, sweetheart. Come on."

Sweet phrases of reassurance are whispered to you as she leads you away, keeping you safe from prying eyes the entire time. Jisoo appears in the doorway of the party room, raising a concerned brow when she sees the two of you approaching. Jennie shakes her head at the unnie before she can utter a word, giving her a silent answer as she uses her eyes to communicate what's happening. Jisoo eventually understands, and she offers a sympathetic nod when you pass by.

-------

7 Months Later

"Hey Jennie, do you think you can go answer the door? I'd do it myself, but…" Jisoo trails off, glancing down at the bowl of partially mixed dough that sits in front of her on the counter. Her hands continue to knead the mixture as she looks up at the younger girl, subtly sighing in relief when she agrees.

There's more than one reason behind having Jennie be the one to answer it.

The brunette grabs a pen as she pads her way over to the door, ready to sign for a delivery package -- that's usually the only thing they get at the dorm, considering guests are discouraged for the most part. Screw YG and their rules.

Being a bit clumsy, Jennie accidently knocks her phone out of her own hand as she opens the door, muttering out a quiet “shit” as she bends down to retrieve it. Her eyes trail over to the stylish boots that set just a few feet away, and her breath hitches.

"Hi baby." You greet with that healing smile that she's missed so much, peering down at her with a look in your eye that makes her heart trip and stumble over itself.

"Y/N!" She shrieks, jumping up from the ground and right into your arms.

"Uumph--" you let out in surprise, making sure to catch her and prevent her from falling. Ever since you two began dating a few months ago, leaving has become harder and harder. Jennie is beyond thrilled to have you back again, and she tries not to think about the next business trip you'll have to take. It's a methodical rhythm -- a month or two abroad and the same amount back home, then you're left to repeat the cycle over and over. Both of you hate it, and you'd much rather spend all your time with her instead. After all, ever since the incident with Rosé all that time ago, Jennie has steadily worked her way into your heart and become someone you can't live without. You were close before, but you've reached a new level now -- and that's about the only thing you can thank Rosé for. By hurting you and showing you how little she cared, she effectively pushed you right into Jennie's waiting arms.

"I'm so happy you're home." She says with a sigh, truly grateful to have you in her arms again. You wrap your arms tighter around her waist and sway a little bit, both of you content with just holding each other for a while longer. The weather outside is dazzlingly perfect; signs of summer apparent in everything around you. Birds chirp their looping songs as they fly through the air, feeling the sun's gentle heat on their wings all the while.

You move your head enough to be level with hers, bringing her in for a long-overdue kiss. She smiles into it, cupping your cheek with one of her hands as she languidly moves to deepen it.

Rosé should've stayed in her room. She should've ignored her stomach's incessant grumbling for a snack; but she didn't.

She gave in, and now she's stuck, rooted in place as she watches Jennie kiss you, the one that got away. It's like watching a train wreck: she can't look away, and part of her psyche knows she deserves this. The apple in her hands is the only thing working to distract her, and she grips it tightly within her clutch to comfort herself. You look good -- so good -- and Rosé doesn't know whether to be happy or not. She knows she didn't treat you right -- then or ever -- but for some selfish reason that she doesn't dare give voice to, she wants you to still be hurting. She wants you to be suffering like she is now, crying into your pillowcase at night when she crosses your mind. She wants you to miss the good times, though there may not have been enough of them, and she wants you to want her again.

You've turned the tables on her, and she doesn't know how to cope.

She realized what she had once it was gone -- once you were gone, too busy falling in love with Jennie to pay her any mind anymore. She misses how devoted you were to her and how much care you put into everything you did; she misses the consistency that you offered; she misses every sweet thing you ever did for her. Hell, she even misses hearing you ramble and seeing you blush when all she did was smile at you.

But you're gone now, destined to be with her member when all she wants is another chance. She'll never get it, certainly not after everything she's put you through, and she resents herself for treating you so badly. All you ever did was care, and she was too self-centered to give a crap.

She deserves this. She deserves to see you happy with Jennie, happy in a way she could never make you. For you, she deserves to hurt; to silently cry in her room when she hears the two of you on call, laughing about whatever new thing you experienced that day. Because it wasn't just the one instance of pain she inflicted on you; it wasn't just that one night at the performance hall -- it was a steady build up of rejection and half-assed excuses, and even she can't blame you for getting tired of it. She wishes she hadn't been so stupid to deny you.

What's worse is that she's actually fallen for you now; she imagines what could've been, what would've been, had she given you an honest chance. She's never tried to deny how gorgeous you are -- that's a given -- but now you're bruisingly beautiful, shining with the happiness that Jennie's worked hard to instill in you again. Shining with the love you hold for that 5'4" angel.

Maybe, if circumstances were different, you'd be in Rosé's arms right now. Perhaps in another life.

---

"Do you want to come in? Jisoo's working on some dessert for the lunch we just made. We can heat you up a plate in the meantime…" Jennie trails off, hoping to persuade you. She knows it's risky, considering the tension that feels almost tangible anytime the three of you are together, but she doesn't want to let you go so soon.

"I don't know…" The uncertainty in your voice is clear, and Jennie watches as a slight grimace crosses your features when you look past her and into the dorm. Luckily Rosé had already found the will power to move to the dining room, so you're spared from seeing her just yet.

"If things get weird or uncomfy we'll leave, okay? I promise." She says, knowing she's convinced you once you give her a little nod.

"Okay. But I'm only doing this because I missed Jisoo's cooking." A playful glint shimmers in your eye as you quirk your head to the side, teasing her.

"Hey!" She groans, pushing your shoulder as the two of you walk down the little concrete path that leads to the front door. "I'm kidding! I missed Lisa's jokes, too."

You laugh at the gasp she lets out, and you make sure to turn around and press a kiss to her temple to stop her from pouting.

--

"So, Y/N, where did you go this time?" Jisoo asks, leaning against the marble island of the kitchen as she pops a piece of tanghulu in her mouth. The crack of the sugary coating pulls your attention away from Rosé, where it had momentarily been -- she looks awful. Bags rest underneath her eyes, her normally vibrant features crestfallen now as her gaze scans across the food on her plate.

You look at Jisoo as you answer her. "The states. We worked with some local companies and small businesses to get more promotional material out in front of people. It's actually pretty amazing, guys -- you're blowing up over there. They love you." The girls smile at your words, feeling a sense of accomplishment swell within themselves. Back when they were trainees they never imagined that they'd end up this far, and yet here they are, seeing their dreams come true, day after day.

You're just happy to be along for the ride. It's not easy by any means -- people often crack under the pressure and get discouraged by the hustle and bustle of everything that such a major operation entails -- but you've never been more thankful for a position in your life.

"As they should," Lisa smirks, looking self-assured with the little cocky motion she does. You almost choke on the piece of food you just stuffed in your mouth, laughing at how ridiculous she looks.

After successfully not dying, you look at her and shake your head. "Lisa, what is wrong with you?" She puts on her infamous meme face, pretending to be shocked by your question, and you cackle again. The sound makes Rosé jealous; she wishes she were the one making you laugh like that.

Another hour or so passes with the 5 of you just relaxing and snacking together at the table, taking turns trading stories and jokes in the meantime. After finishing your dessert and complimenting the unnie's cooking skills, you make your way towards the kitchen with a groan of, "I'm so full" thrown over your shoulder.

You begin washing the dishes, finding it only fitting seeing as they spent all that time preparing such a good meal. It's the least you can do. A smile tugs at your cheeks when you hear the door open, followed by light footfalls against the hardwood. Jennie.

Warm arms snake around your waist as she hugs you from behind, resting her cheek against your back. Your brows furrow when you notice an unusual thing -- either Jennie grew a few inches in the last 5 minutes, or someone else is holding you. Their cheek reaches a place Jennie isn't tall enough to, and it all hits you.

It's Rosé.

You go to shut the water off and step away, but the sounds of her quiet sniffles give you pause. "Please don't." She whispers into your shirt, bunching the material up within her fingers against your stomach. A pang of sadness pulls against your heart strings, the long forgotten feeling reignited by the waver in her voice. "Rosé," you start with a sigh, ready to launch into the practiced speech of how happy you are with Jennie now and how you've moved on. She tugs at your shirt, slowly turning you around, and you can't find it in yourself to break her heart even further in this moment. Her eyes are filled with what tears have yet to stream down her face, brimming with the salty liquid you hate to see.

Even after everything, you can't stand to see her cry.

So, perhaps stupidly, you allow her to lean forward and rest her head against your chest; you let her fall into your arms, sinking into the embrace she never intended to miss so much.

It was innocent. Completely, utterly innocent, but Rosé couldn't stop herself -- not when you were there again, right in front of her, looking so good it hurt. She wrapped her arms around your neck, pushing her lips against yours in a kiss you weren't prepared for at all. Her mouth moved quickly against yours, knowing you'd be shoving her away at any moment. But she was okay with being selfish again -- she needed you then, and you allowed her to keep kissing you until you realized what was happening.

As you go to stumble away and put distance between the two of you, the door once again opens; only this time, it's actually Jennie. Her eyes immediately dart between the two of you as she notices how Rosie's hands are still holding you close, both of your lips swollen from the kiss. All at once you realize how the situation must look, and you begin panicking. You knew this was a bad idea from the start.

"Jennie, no. I promise this isn't what you think." You shake your head, finally freeing yourself of Rosé's grip as you take a couple steps towards your girlfriend. She takes an equal amount back, scoffing lightly at the memory of the scene she just witnessed.

"Yeah, okay," she says, sounding anything but convinced as she makes her way towards the door. You go after her, but she holds a hand up -- after knowing her for so long, you've learned that that signal means to give her some time alone. Both of you know you'll go after her again later, but she needs some time right now. As she leaves the dorm, the heavy sound of the door shutting is the only noise that cuts through the palpable tension.

"How could you do that?" You ask, voice small, not even turning around to look at Rosé. You doubt that she's even sorry.

She isn't sorry. At least, not for kissing you. It felt good to have you like that, and she doesn't regret it. However, from what angle of your face your side profile offers to her, she can see how upset you are. That's what makes her feel the slightest bit guilty for her timing.

"I spent so much time trying to get you to notice me, and now you choose to do that? You're unbelievable, Roseanne-- I'm finally happy, and what, you want to ruin that?” She takes the blows as they come, staying quiet. “If you've ever cared about me at all then you'll stay away." You set your jaw, willing the tears to go away. You've wasted too many on her, and you'll be damned to look weak right now.

"Y/N, I-"

"No. Don't apologize when we both know you don't mean it. You've always been selfish, Rosé." You bite back, not caring if the words cut her down like her old ones always used to do to you. Earlier, before her little stunt, you were starting to feel sorry for her; clearly though, that was yet another mistake on your part.

You leave without another word, praying that she doesn't further complicate the situation by following after you. Jennie is the only thing on your mind as you hop in your car, having an idea of where she might be.

--

"Jennie, no. I promise this isn't what you think."

Your worried voice replays in her mind for the millionth time, further tormenting her. She's been cheated on before, so that phrase isn't a new thing to her.

She was always afraid this would happen. She used to lay awake at night, overthinking as usual, wondering when the beautiful thing the two of you created would ultimately come crashing down. It was too good to be true, and she curses herself for foolishly believing any different.

The better part of an hour passes by as she sits on the park bench, reminiscing on all the memories you've made here. The idea of ending things with you and starting over with someone else sinks in, and she hates the feeling. She only wants you -- she's only ever wanted you -- and the thought that things could really be over now hurts her more than she cares to admit.

Your eyes scan across the park, ghosting over the playground equipment until they zero in on her, sitting near the fountain that you shared your first kiss. Such a sap, you smile bittersweetly.

You ruffle through the plastic bag that sits in the passenger's seat, moving the receipt out of the way so that you can pick up what you're really after. Returning your hands to the steering wheel, you grip it while giving yourself a little pep talk before exiting the car. You press a kiss to the present in your hand for good luck, hoping this encounter will go well.

Water spouts from the top of the fountain, the sound growing louder the closer you get to Jennie. Her back is turned to you, and for that you're thankful -- you're not quite prepared to see how she'll be looking at you. Now just a few feet away, you say, "Marry me."

You’ll do whatever it takes to show her how crazy you are about her.

Her head whips around, completely taken aback by your proposal. She thinks that there's no way you're serious, but when she looks down to find her favorite flavor of ring pop in your hand, her eyes widen. You're sick of wasting time, and seeing that she hasn't yelled at you or turned you away yet, you take advantage of the situation.

"Marry me, Jennie," you repeat, taking small, careful steps towards her until you're right next to the bench. "She kissed me, but I tried to push her away. I told her that you're the only one for me."

She blinks, taking in your words as she notices you nervously toy with the plastic wrapper of the candy. She knows you're telling the truth; you're a terrible liar, and you wouldn't be here right now if you didn't want her back. If you wanted to choose Rosé over her, you had the perfect opportunity to do so back at the dorm.

But you don't; you want Jennie, and now you're standing in the middle of your favorite park, proposing with a piece of candy to prove that to her. The things you do for love.

"It just scared me, Y/N. Seeing her wrapped around you like that--"

"I know, baby. I know. But I promise I didn't want it, and it meant nothing to me. I'm so in love with you, Jennie Kim."

She smiles at the dopey grin on your face, seeing how smitten you are.

"Okay," she answers back, yet again looking at your hands.

"Is that a yes?" You ask, slowly beginning to tear open the wrapper.

"Yes, dummy. I'll marry you." She declares, nodding her head with a laugh at how slow you are sometimes.

"Yay!" You shout, stepping forward to pick her up in your arms. You set her back down with a smile, slipping the ring onto her finger as your heart soars.

Jennie kisses you, letting the action convey all the emotions she's been through in the past few hours. "I love you." She sighs, resting her forehead against yours.

"I'd surely hope so, jagi," you smirk against her lips, giggling at the squeal she lets out when you playfully pinch her side. Her kisses are replacing all traces of Rosé, and she's comforted by the fact that you'll so adamantly choose her, everyday.

With a smile, Jennie realizes something: never again will she be forced to dream of having you in another life -- her wishes came true, and now she'll have you in this one, always.

- Three Months Ago -

Seoul Fair

The entirety of Seoul and its inhabitants fell silent as you tossed one final, plastic ring towards the sea of bottles in front of you. With bated breath, you watched as it sailed through the air.

One side of it hit first, causing it to flop back and forth while fate decided what to do with it.

After a tense few seconds, it circled around the corner bottle’s rim and sunk down over the neck of it with a satisfying clink.

The crowd that had formed around you erupted with cheers and applause in an instant. You spun around in a rush, raising your arms into the air in celebration.

One person in particular caught your eye, with the soft smile that was on her face and the look of adoration that shined in her dark eyes. A few strands of her fluffy hair were blowing in the wind, caught by its currents.

Siyeon. Precisely the woman you were trying to win a prize for.

She opened her arms as you closed the short distance that stood between the two of you, catching you with ease as you leapt into them. She spun you around victoriously, sharing her cute little laugh with the world and warming your heart in the process.

She kissed your cheek before setting you back down on the ground, and you tugged her over to the booth so she could choose her prize.

Per her instruction, the worker used a hook and retrieved a wolf plushie from the top rack. She took it and you both thanked him before leaving.

“When did you get so good at that game, jagi?” Her arm looped with yours as she began to toy with the wolf’s ears. The neon lights of the attractions around you washed over the park, causing the plushie’s beady eyes to shine as they peered up at her.

“Beginner’s luck,” you shrugged, still smiling. “I’m glad you like it.”

“Like it?” She stopped in her tracks, making you do the same.

“I love it. Best gift ever,” she complimented, and leaned over to kiss your lips. You laughed against her as she pulled you in again and wound her arms around your middle, holding you close in her warm embrace.

She shivered when your hands pushed open her flannel jacket and made contact with her exposed midriff, caressing her skin. Your fingers looped in the waistband of her jeans, pulling her flush against your body as her lips moved against yours. She simply couldn’t get enough of you; you were too perfect for words.

Just a little ways away, Yoohyeon watched the two of you with a scowl. The line that she was waiting in was stagnant and apparently incapable of any movement whatsoever, much to her annoyance. Her sudden change in attitude became apparent to both Jiu and Dami – who were standing in front of her – when she let out a light scoff into the night air.

Just a few minutes prior, she was as bubbly and smiley as ever; but when she spotted you together, her mood soured immediately. She felt sick to her stomach, and the sinking of her heart only made things worse.

She couldn’t have you, no matter how much she was dying to. What a cruel fate.

Ever since Siyeon had introduced you to all of the girls a few months ago, Yoohyeon had been grappling with her blossoming feelings for you. Everything about you drew her in, from your sweet smile that was always capable of cheering her up to your sense of humor that matched hers perfectly. As you became a bigger part of all of their lives, she found it more and more difficult to deny the way that you made her feel.

It wasn’t hard for all of them to grow fond of you, with how much Siyeon gushed about you and how frequently you were invited over to the dorm. Just recently they had begun to bring you on little trips and outings such as this, certain that you would find a way to make them even more special somehow. And you always did.

But as much as Yoohyeon loved your presence, a part of her loathed it. Holiday dinners and movie nights in particular were some of the most destructive occasions for her resolve, because they meant that you were in her proximity for hours on end, looking radiant without even trying. The subtle touch of your hand was enough to make her heart speed up, and anytime she made you laugh or smile it was like the world stopped spinning for a moment. Her clumsiness was always countered by your vigilance, with you often swooping in to save her at the last second before she could trip over nothing or knock something over.

In so many ways, you complimented her better than anyone else ever had before. It made her wonder that if circumstances were different, perhaps you could’ve found the same love in your heart for her that she had for you. Maybe, if she had been the first to meet you instead of Siyeon, you would’ve been winning prizes for her now, at the fair, and waiting in the world’s slowest ferris wheel line by her side.

Ah, surely that was just wishful thinking. At least, that’s what she told herself.

“Look, unnie,” Siyeon beamed, holding the wolf up to Jiu as the two of you made your way over.

The eldest gave Yoohyeon another concerned once-over before regarding Siyeon with a pleased smile. Her free arm was still wrapped around your waist, and the sight made Yoohyeon turn away again.

“Woah, Y/N,” Jiu breathed, full of amazement. “I heard that game is totally rigged. How did you beat it?”

You grinned shyly when they all looked at you again, patiently waiting on your answer. With how intrigued they were, it was like you held the key to the universe.

“I had a good reason to win,” you said, bumping your shoulder into Siyeon’s. She blushed and used the plushie to cover her face, making everyone laugh.

“Yah, you’re such a flirt,” she groaned. “You know we’re already dating, right? You don’t have to win me over all the time.”

Dami noticed the subtle way that Yoohyeon twisted the top of her sneaker into the dirt at that, swiping it back and forth.

“And miss out on making you blush?” You quirked a brow like she was crazy. “Never.”

She muttered a quiet “Omo,” into the air before playfully rolling her eyes in response.

“Do you guys wanna join us?” Jiu asked, tilting her head to the side with a smile of gentle encouragement.

You looked at Siyeon, silently debating for a moment. Yoohyeon’s sad frame caught your eye when you returned your gaze to Jiu, leaning against the metal bars of the barrier.

“Of course. We’d love to.”

Though you didn’t see it, Yoohyeon shut her eyes in response. Why did you have to say yes? Out of every possible ride and booth here, you had to choose this one next? Her luck must’ve run out and turned negative somehow.

Siyeon helped you duck your way under the bars before doing so herself, officially joining the rest of them in line. You passed the remaining wait time by discussing your plan for tackling the remainder of the park before it closed for the night. There was only about an hour or so left before you had to leave, and you wanted to make the most of it by hitting up the rides that had the biggest reputations. Both Jiu and Dami liked your scheme, and so they decided then that they wanted to tag along with the two of you for it.

“What about you, Yoohyeon? Wanna come with?” You asked, concerned by her lack of a response thus far. She hadn’t joined into the conversation really and it upset you to see her so unlike herself. You missed her happy-go-lucky attitude.

When she felt you approach her side and innocently take her hand, she glanced over at you.

Why did you have to be so beautiful?

The smile on your lips knocked away any ill-feelings she had; every ounce of annoyance she had stored up melted away at the sight of you. Her defenses came tumbling down, just the same as her reservations.

“Sure,” she said, though she wanted to kick herself for being swayed so easily.

“Good.” You squeezed her hand with both of your own, showing your sincerity. “It wouldn’t be as fun without you.”

Siyeon put her chin on the younger girl’s shoulder and loosely wrapped her arms around her, giving her a back hug. Yoohyeon smiled, half-forced and half-genuine for a multitude of reasons.

She always did her best to refrain from taking her frustrations at the situation out on Siyeon, because at the end of the day it wasn’t her fault. When it comes to love, no one holds the reins; and precisely because no one can be blamed, the pain is a million times worse. She couldn’t find it in her heart to hate her member even though she wanted to; it would’ve made life far easier, and she could’ve distanced herself accordingly to attain some relief. But she was stuck in limbo – an odd and complicated area between love and jealousy – with no way out in sight.

So she grinned and bore it, allowing the two of you to show her some affection. Caught between love and loyalty, she struggled. Who knew that two of the people she cared about most in the world could leave her feeling such a way?

The ride attendant motioned you forward as the line surged one final time, and you were ushered onto the next available cart. It was large enough to fit all five of you, thankfully, and you ended up sitting between Siyeon and Yoohyeon. Jiu and Dami took the other side, sitting on either end of the bench there to more evenly distribute their shared weight.

Yoohyeon did her best to ignore your hand on her thigh, holding it tightly as the cart was taken higher and higher into the sky. It was warm and tempting against the chill that seeped in, both from the atmosphere around you and the metal seat that you were sat on. Should she have trained herself to be any less cynical, it might have given her some kind of foolish hope. When you shifted closer and settled against her side, briefly shutting your eyes when you neared the top of the wheel, she might’ve taken it as a sign of something more than what it was: innocent affection.

But as she caught a glimpse of the jacket wrapped around your shoulders – Siyeon’s, she quickly deduced – her senses were returned to her in full.

Siyeon was busy snapping pictures of the view for the two of you to look back on later; just the same as you, she loved aerial views like this. The flashing lights of the fair swirled and pulsated in different rhythms, all vying for the attention of passersby. Shouts of joy rang out, both from children and adults alike, and the comforting scents of different fair foods floated up on the breeze.

Yoohyeon tracked your line of sight to the city lights that shined from a little ways away – a different kind of hustle and bustle existing over there than the one you were centered in. Every beautiful thing around you was just that – beautiful – but the longer she looked at you, she realized none of it could compare.

Your smile had taken on a new kind of thrill – in the last few seconds it had learned a new way of beaming that reduced her to nothing but a bumbling fool. The joy on your face was contagious, and as she caught herself staring she registered that she was grinning back.

She was totally, utterly, and irrevocably in love with you. Head over heels in every sense of the phrase, though even it didn’t do justice to what she felt for you. It was a dangerous game that her heart and mind were playing, toying with one another with no regard for how it ruined her.

But she took your hand during a lapse in judgement and intertwined your fingers, allowing her thumb to caress your skin. It offered comfort when you peered over the side of the cart at the ground and immediately straightened up, regretting your decision.

She simply admired you, close but so far, wearing her poorly-guarded heart on her sleeve. She knew she couldn’t have you in the ways she truly wanted, and she knew she’d have to make peace with that in time.

But for now, she was okay with settling for this.

For the curl of your fingers around hers, and the nervous laughter you shared whenever the cart swayed a little. For the sweet way your voice uttered her name as you called for her attentioned and pointed out things you wanted her to see throughout the park below.

It might not have been capable of feeding her delusions forever, but in that moment it would suffice.

It was glorious torture, all at once; and she couldn’t say she wanted it to end.

- Present Day -

As it went, fate had an odd way of panning out with time.

The members were gathered around Siyeon’s bedroom door, sharing hushed whispers of what plan of action they wanted to take. Yoohyeon was in the mix, too, although she was doing more listening than she was contributing to the conversation.

Her back was leaned against the hallway wall, and at the mention of your name she only pressed against it harder. The rigid surface remained steady, compensating for the weakness she felt.

“It’s been hours, unnie,” Gahyeon said, fixing her eyes on an uncharacteristically quiet Sua.

The second oldest tensed her jaw and nodded, acknowledging her. “I know, but I have no idea what to do. I’ve never seen her like this, guys.”

Jiu sighed and rubbed her forehead. Yoohyeon could only imagine the stress that she felt day in and day out by simply being their leader. It had to be exhausting.

“Have any of you heard from Y/N? Maybe she knows.”

Dami made a noise of contestation. “I think whatever it is that has Siyeon down right now has everything to do with Y/N.”

“She mentioned something about it to me this morning during breakfast, before she locked herself away,” Handong uttered. Everyone looked to her, awaiting her explanation. “It wasn’t much, but my guess is that they’re taking a break or something.”

Yoohyeon hated the piece of herself that rejoiced at that. She felt completely selfish.

“Seriously?”

“I wonder why…”

“There’s no way, they were so good together.”

“It must just be a misunderstanding.”

The girls all spoke over each other, simply sharing their disbelief.

A framed picture came into Yoohyeon’s view as she looked away, feeling ashamed. It was one of the three of you, smiling and happy on a trip you took with all of them to a national park some time ago. You went during the change in seasons, when the cherry trees were blossoming and offering their petals to the world. In fact, Jiu had managed to snap the picture just as some had landed in your hair; both Yoohyeon and Siyeon stood at your side, attempting to get them out for you.

It was a beautiful picture – a wonderful memory, even – yet it made Yoohyeon frown regardless. If that really was the case – if you had broken up – then both of them would be left heartbroken and neither one could do a thing about it.

It was one thing for Yoohyeon to suffer alone if it meant that at least Siyeon could be happy with you. But now? No, that didn’t sit right with her. She had grown used to the heartache, and she knew she could handle it; Siyeon didn’t deserve to feel it, too.

“Why don’t I go see how Y/N’s doing while you guys try to get through to Siyeon? She might tell me what happened and we can get both sides of the story that way.”

The girls all looked at her, silently weighing the pros and cons of the suggestion. Jiu, ever observant, was acutely aware of the feelings that the younger girl harbored for you; she knew it would be upsetting for her to confront you in such a way, and especially over a topic like this. But something shined in Yoohyeon’s eyes, and she knew she was determined to make things right in any way she could.

“I think that would be good. Do you have her number?”

Yoohyeon nodded. You’d given it to her on your second visit to the dorm, when you’d lost your phone and needed to call it in order to locate it. Even now, she could remember the way you jumped around together in celebration once you’d found it buried beneath the couch cushions.

“If she’s in the same state as Siyeon I doubt she’ll want to leave her apartment,” Dami said.

“I’ll just put something comfortable on then. Maybe she’ll let me come over.”

“I’m sure she will,” Sua agreed.

Yoohyeon fished her phone out of her pocket and held it up at them, wiggling it in the air to dismiss herself. She padded off to her room and scrolled until she found your contact, hitting the call button just as the latch of her door clicked into place behind her.

It rang a few times, and each second that passed by felt like a small eternity. She paced lightly as her fingers toyed with the sweater paw that her sleeve made.

“Hello?”

“Y/N!” She said a little too enthusiastically. She cleared her throat, correcting herself. “Y/N,” she repeated, a great deal calmer. “How have you been?”

“Not the best,” you answered truthfully. “You?”

“I’ve been better.”

“How’s Siyeon doing?” The hopefulness in your voice was obvious.

“Not the best,” she echoed, using your own words.

The line went silent for a few seconds in response, and was only broken by the subsequent sniffle you let out. She could tell you tried to conceal it, but she heard it regardless and it broke her heart.

“Can I come over? I want to see you.”

You sniffled again, not fully trusting your voice to keep from wobbling. “If you’re okay with seeing me as a mess, then sure.”

Her shoulders relaxed some. She was afraid you were going to reject the idea outright.

“Text me your address. I’ll leave soon, okay?”

“Alright,” you spoke gently into the phone, cradling it against your cheek. Its screen was cool against your heated skin, and the sensation made you grateful that she had called you.

You hung up after a shared word of goodbye and headed to the bathroom, wanting to look somewhat decent for her arrival. The hoodie, shorts, and bags underneath your eyes could stay, but your hair needed to be tamed and your nose needed to be blown. All the crying you’d been doing as of late had turned you into a wreck, plain and simply.

- Your Apartment -

A gentle series of knocks came a little while later, letting you know she’d arrived.

Yoohyeon fidgeted in the small hallway in front of your door while she waited and busied herself by studying the dim hanging light that resided in the center of its ceiling. Her nerves were running high for some reason, and she couldn’t seem to calm them down.

You opened the door shortly after, revealing yourself in all of your… glory.

Her features pulled together in sadness as she regarded you and stepped inside. You shut the door behind her and were prepared to launch into the speech you had been rehearsing, but she spared you from giving it.

Her arms wrapped around you instead in a silent embrace, pulling you in until your body was pressed to hers. She didn’t care that you looked messy, or that you would dirty up her shirt; she simply offered herself to you and allowed you to find comfort in something other than your pillow for once. Her hands caressed your back as you began to cry again, painting her shoulder with the heavy droplets. They each held a little bit of your sadness and frustration; the more you cried, the lighter you felt.

She backed up until she reached the couch, and she quickly sat down and pulled you along with her. Your legs stretched across her lap and you settled your head in the crook of her neck, letting yourself go.

You had no idea why you felt okay enough to be so vulnerable in front of her; normally, you don’t cry in front of people. You’ve found over the years that your emotions are better dealt with in the safety and security of your bedroom or the shower, where prying eyes and ears don’t have the chance to listen in and question you about it later on.

It was unlike you in every way to openly sob in front of another person – even Siyeon herself had only seen you cry maybe once or twice, and neither of those occasions were of this caliber.

But something in the way Yoohyeon held you let you know everything would be alright. The occasional kisses that she left against your temple and the mindless way her fingers played with your hair calmed you down, giving you an avenue to ground yourself with. She even shed a few tears of her own, having been affected by how pitiful you were in her arms. If there was one thing she hated in this world, it was to see you cry.

Once your body began to relax against hers and your sobs turned to occasional sniffles, she knew you were making progress. You lifted your head and she cupped your cheeks, wiping away the remaining tears that streaked their paths downward with the pads of her thumbs.

“Only tell me about it if you’re comfortable and ready to, okay? I’ll stay right here regardless.”

You nodded and remained that way, shutting your eyes; she continued to cradle your face and hold you like you were the most precious thing in the entire universe. Your lips and cheeks were a bit puffy and your eyes were red, but your wet lashes looked full as they shimmered in the light of the room. You had that post-cry glow – one of the only positives in the situation at all.

When your breathing reached normalcy again, you moved a little out of her hold and allowed your back to lean against the arm of the couch behind you, taking advantage of its support; your legs still remained across her lap, however. Her hands fell to them, and her fingertips traced patterns against your skin while you found the courage to finally share what had happened.

“We broke up last night.”

She nodded, intending to give you the floor and let you do the talking.

“Things had been weird for a few weeks, and so we discussed them, but… I-I don’t really know where it all went wrong. We had always been fine before, but something about this one seemed really final.”

“Was it about anything in particular?”

You shook your head. “Not really? Just…” you let out a deep breath, “...I feel like we’d been growing apart for a little while, and then I guess it all just piled up. But even then, I don’t want us to throw away everything we’ve been through together, you know? We’ve been with each other for a while now.”

“I get that, Y/N/N.” She pushed the nagging in her heart aside. “Do you think she feels the same?”

Your shoulders lifted and fell in a heartbroken shrug, and another few tears dripped down your cheeks. “I don’t know. Probably not, after the last talk we had about it.”

She put a hand over yours on your lap, squeezing it tenderly in support.

“I wish it could’ve been a big blow out fight so I could start hating her and get past it. But she was reasonable and calm,” your breath hitched a few times, like babies do when they’re settling down, “...neither of us were harsh to each other, and yet somehow I still feel awful.”

“If it’s any consolation, she isn’t doing much better. Since breakfast she’s been locked in her room and not speaking to anyone. Not even Sua.”

A sigh left your lips at that information. “What do you think we should do?”

She took a little while to consider it, genuinely pondering. “Maybe just give it some time? Things like this always hurt the most when it’s all fresh and new. If you take a few days to think about it all and see how you feel then, maybe you’ll have a better grasp on what to do moving forward.”

“You’re right, Yooh. Thank you.”

“Of course; it’s what I’m here for.”

You wiped the remaining tears on your cheeks again and swallowed thickly, completely and utterly worn out. Truthfully, you’d expected to have run out of tears by the time she arrived; clearly that wasn’t the case by any means.

“Have you eaten today?”

You shook your head, prepared for an earful. Instead, she simply stood up and stuck her hand out, pulling you up as well. “Then let me make you something.”

She led the way into your kitchen, and when she spotted the island inside, she ushered you over to it. She pulled one of the high top chairs out for you and scooted it in once you were settled before heading to the sink to wash her hands.

“Any requests?”

“Y/FavFood/N, please.”

She smiled and rinsed the suds from her hands with the hot water that streamed from the faucet. “Alright, Y/N, but you have to promise to stay in here in case I start a fire. The last time I made that, our kitchen almost exploded.”

You laughed at that, surprised that her clumsiness had ever been that extreme. Surely it had to be a world record of some kind.

“I promise,” you said with a smile.

For a shining, wonderful moment, the heartbreak that you were going through became second on the list of things taking up space in your mind. It obviously didn’t go away completely, but the sadness was eclipsed by a certain 5’6” beauty that stood in front of your open refrigerator, scanning the shelves for all of the ingredients she needed.

The midday sunlight that streamed into the room offered a nice glow to everything, coating it in warmth. Her hair flowed elegantly in soft waves, and it caught the golden rays in various ways as she moved about. Her silhouette cut through the light gracefully, casting a shadow that was nearly capable of rivaling her real-life beauty.

You’d always thought she was incredibly attractive, though you never planned to act on it in any way. It was just a simple, undeniable fact of life. She was divine, and you didn’t mind being her admirer for once.

As she worked, you eyed her unabashedly. She caught you a few times and hid behind whatever utensil happened to be in her hand or threw a stray ingredient at you to convince you to stop, but it had the opposite effect. Without even trying, she drew you in. This woman, so sweet and gentle, waltzed into your life again when you needed someone more than anything. She was waiting without judgment, prepared to comfort you at your lowest without seeking a reward to show for it. Her kindness spoke volumes, and it wasn’t lost on you in the slightest.

How you would repay her, you weren’t sure. But you knew then that you could count on her no matter what, and that was huge.

—-------

In line with Yoohyeon’s advice, you allowed a week to pass before you met up with Siyeon to discuss things again. She came to your apartment and sat down with you, respectful in every possible way. It was odd to greet her with a short hug instead of a kiss like you were used to, but you managed. The atmosphere was still a bit tense – a little charged – as unfinished business hung in the air between you, but you both handled it like adults and did what you could to dispel it.

Tears were shed and you comforted one another like always. No matter what, you both hated to see each other so upset.

Amicably, you agreed to remain broken up and see what the future held. It was obvious that you still loved one another deeply and cared just as much as you had when you first fell. But times were changing, and life was beginning to take you in different directions; no matter how sad or disappointing it was, it was simply growing pains. Neither of you were to blame, and you found some solace in the fact that you hadn’t cheated or done anything rash to hurt one another in such a way.

Your friendship didn’t have to end by any means, and you made a promise to stay in touch. Neither of you believed you’d get over the other anytime soon – at least not fully, anyway – but you knew this was the best decision you could make for the both of you. Watching the relationship unravel any further would’ve only ended worse and caused more harm than good; you saw no real point in dragging it out when you could end on a relatively positive note instead.

So, that day, you shared one final goodbye kiss and left it at that. Whether it was merely the end of this chapter for your love story or the entire book, you’d find out in time.

- Four Months Later -

When you entered your apartment after a morning of grocery shopping, you were surprised to find Yoohyeon sprawled out across your couch. Her limbs were haphazardly strewn about, and all of her focus was zeroed in on the phone in her hands. She was playing a game, you quickly realized, by the fast movement of her fingers and the look of concentration on her face.

As you latched the door behind yourself and locked it, the screen lit up red, washing her face in the color of defeat.

She groaned loudly and sat up before locking her phone and tossing it to the other end of the couch like a toddler. Sometimes she was really a sore loser.

“How was shopping?”

She stood up and stretched, and you did your best not to stare too hard when her shirt rose up enough to expose her midriff. The lines of her abs were clear, begging to be admired. But you averted your gaze before she could catch you.

“Fine. Pretty uneventful, really.”

She wordlessly took some of the bags from your hands and followed you into the kitchen, padding her way in with sock-clad feet. As you began to unpack everything and put it in its rightful place, she helped.

“How long have you been here?” You asked over your shoulder, bent at the waist as you placed some vegetables in the produce bin of the refrigerator.

Yoohyeon’s eyes raked over your backside, starting at the flexing muscles of your shoulders and flitting all the way down to your calves. Just as much as she’d fallen for your personality and mind, she’d fallen for your body as well. You were gorgeous to her in every capacity. Just the sight of you made her want to–

“Earth to Yoohyeon!”

She jumped, putting a hand over her heart.

“U-uh sorry! What did you ask?”

Her hand raised to the back of her neck as she scratched it, beyond embarrassed. She continued to hand you groceries as you reached out for them.

“I asked how long you’ve been here.”

“About an hour. The girls are out doing their own things and I knew you wouldn’t be gone too long, so I decided to come here and hang out with you.”

“You didn’t have anything better to do?” You quirked a brow, standing up straight and shutting the fridge.

“I always want to spend time with you, Y/N. That is one of my better things to do.”

“Yah,” you felt the beginnings of blush bloom on your cheeks as warmth spread to them, “...stop it with the smooth talk.”

She smiled so widely that her eyes formed into crescents in an instant. Knowing that she had such an effect on you never failed to put her in a better mood.

“No can do,” she shrugged, approaching you with open arms. She wrapped them around your neck and sighed into your hair when she felt yours wind around her waist, pulling her close. Her breath on your neck caused goosebumps to appear, and it took all the self restraint you had to keep from shivering.

The power she had gained over you in a matter of months was astounding, if you did say so yourself.

Following your breakup with Siyeon, Yoohyeon had established herself as a constant in your life that you could count on for just about anything.

Late night runs to the convenience store when you were having a bad week? She would be outside of your place with the car running before you could even hang up the phone.

You needed to unwind when work got you down? She was at your door with all of her favorite co-op video games, and all of your favorite snacks. If that didn’t cheer you up, she was always down to go for a walk in the park or watch TV shows or movies to take your mind off of things.

You were sick? She would run to the store at any hour and pick up every medicine you needed and every snack she knew you’d appreciate. Once she made it to your apartment, she wouldn’t leave until she witnessed you drink plenty of water and eat some of her home-made soup. (Even then, if you asked her to stay longer with you, she would agree in a heartbeat).

The more you got to know her, the more you began to fall. In the beginning, you did everything you could to prevent it, seeing as how both of you were still close with Siyeon. It felt slimy, in a way, to pull something like that with your breakup still relatively new. And, truth be told, you still weren’t completely over her. You were a lot further along than from where you started, but some progress still remained to be made. Siyeon’s quirks and mannerisms stuck with you, some becoming little habits of your own that you had picked up during your time together. The little things still reminded you of her from time to time, but you tried not to get too hung up on them.

From what you heard, she was on track to getting over you and seemed to be handling things well, too. It pleased you to hear that; more than anything, you wanted her to be happy. She deserved nothing less; and if you couldn’t be the person to give that to her, you wanted her to find the one that could.

Maybe you could be just as lucky, too, someday.

Yoohyeon’s phone rang, and she let go of you to go retrieve it from your living room. You watched her head out with a small smile, feeling content.

*ring ring*

“Hello?”

“Hey, Yooh,” Jiu chimed on the other end. “Are you still at Y/N’s house?”

She reentered the kitchen and sat down at one of the island chairs, meeting eyes with you across the room.

“Mhm.”

“Oooooo,” she teased.

“Unnie, what do you want?” Yoohyeon deadpanned. She was unamused.

Jiu pouted, tutting into the phone. “Ask Y/N if she wants to come over for a movie tonight. Sua and I are gonna make some food, too.”

She relayed the question, and you drew in a deep breath. You hadn’t visited the dorm again since things ended with Siyeon, so there was a high chance that it could be awkward. The last thing you wanted to do was ruin everyone’s night by making them walk on eggshells.

“I think it’ll be fun,” she added, smiling at you. “I’d love it if you’d come along.”

How could you deny her?

“Alright fine, you’ve convinced me.”

Both Yoohyeon and Jiu rejoiced at your decision, and once the eldest shared the message with the other girls you heard Sua screaming in the background victoriously. You laughed and shook your head, incredulous as to how her lungs and vocal chords were capable of projecting her voice so loudly. She never ceased to amaze you.

Yoohyeon said a couple more things into the phone before hanging up and turning to face you.

“They want us over there by six o’clock,” she informed. “Does that work for you?”

You nodded, leaning against the counter. You crossed your fingers, hoping for the best for the night ahead.

—---

- Dreamcatcher Dorm -

Yoohyeon snuck a glance at her phone. “5:55,” it read, before she pocketed it again. Not bad.

She opened her jacket for you as the two of you waited outside, and you slid your arms around her, reveling in the heat that she provided. It held the chilly air at bay and gave you an excuse to be close to her, leaving you with no reason to complain. She enjoyed the simplicity of the moment as well, far more than she probably should’ve. She was getting ahead of herself, like she always used to do before. But that was easy to do when you were brushing your hands across her exposed skin and holding her like it meant something deeper. Getting lost in her fantasies had always been easy when it came to you.

Gahyeon and Handong were the first to greet you when the door was flung open, nearly coming off its hinges. The youngest smiled eagerly and pulled you inside, loudly informing the rest of them that you’d arrived. Sua had clearly been teaching her her tricks.

She hugged you tightly, and you reciprocated. Once she released you and allowed you to inhale some much-needed oxygen again, you brought Handong in for a much softer embrace. Although you had gotten the least amount of time to bond with the two of them, they still treated you like an old friend and acted as if they’d known you for years; connecting with them just came naturally. It made you happy to know that they wanted you there and enjoyed your presence so much.

Dami appeared in the hallway as you conversed with the two of them, briefly catching up and finding out how they’d been after all your time apart. When you noticed her, a sincere smile made its way to her lips and she hugged you as well. She was pleased that you were doing well, and the sight of Yoohyeon behind you – watching you with a smile of adoration – only made her happier.

Knowing that the two of you had been so upset and down in the dumps before really bothered her, and so seeing that you had managed to help each other out of that place warmed her heart.

She led you to the kitchen – more accurately, the war zone – where you were greeted by the very messy sight of Jiu and Sua. They were covered in food, condiments, and…. some things that you couldn’t quite place, but you wiped the grimace from your face and smiled at them. Jiu waved a spatula at you in lieu of her hand, making you giggle. But when you looked to Sua, your grin faded a little; she had a dangerous look in her eye, and you half expected her to splash you with an ingredient or two.

Instead she rounded the corner of the counter with her arms outstretched, making grabby hands at you despite the batter that they were covered in. You slowly backed away as she came closer and closer, but when she began to run, so did you.

Only, a problem arose. Your body collided with something on the second stride, stopping you in your tracks.

Well, someone, more precisely. It was none other than Siyeon.

Sua looked between the rest of the girls with an awkward expression as she crept back behind the counter to hide, just in case things ended up going south in the wake of your impromptu reunion.

Siyeon was dressed in a cozy sweater and matching pair of sweatpants, looking undeniably adorable as her dark hair fell across her shoulders in a gentle wave. She wore slippers as well, and you noticed with a smile that they were the ones you’d bought her for her birthday.

“Hey, Y/N/N,” she said softly, leaning in to press a kiss to your cheek and hug you. You sunk into the strong embrace of her arms, beyond happy to have reached a place again where this was acceptable. She still gave such great hugs; no matter what, the softness of her touch would always be something you loved.

“Hello to you, too,” you responded, squeezing her a little tighter before letting go completely.

Though you were none the wiser, Yoohyeon was leant against the hallway wall as she watched the two of you catch up, trading jokes and conversation like it was nothing.

The rest of the girls had gone back to talking or were leaving to do their own thing by then, but she stayed, unable to take her eyes off of you. She was transfixed, more or less, and for more reasons than one. Jealousy had begun to bubble up within her, returning like it always did before. Dami noticed her sudden change in mood and put two and two together; finally, she understood.

Like the good friend that she is, she decided to distract her from the scene playing out in front of her. She slid her hands across her shoulders and guided her away, mentioning that no one could decide on what movie to watch and that they could use her help with choosing.

Yoohyeon glanced at you before leaving, but you didn’t return the gesture. You were too busy smiling at whatever an animated Siyeon had just said. With a sigh, she relented and padded alongside Dami a little defeatedly.

- The Kitchen -

When your time with Siyeon began to wind down and she decided to kick back in the living room with the others, you opted to lend a helping hand to Jiu and Sua. They were doing dishes and wiping the counter down, respectively.

When you approached the two of them, they greeted you with a smile again, now able to properly hug you since their aprons were off and their clothes were cleaned off. Jiu rubbed your back in a motherly sort of way, and it brought you more comfort than you even realized you needed at the time.

Sua too was gentle for once, and you grinned against her shoulder at her calm embrace. Her hold on you was strong, allowing you to sink further into to.

It lasted for all of about three seconds, though.

“No!” She screamed suddenly, right next to your ear.

You winced and pulled away, bringing your hands up to guard it in case she decided to surprise you again.

“What?!”

“The cake!” She whined, pointing behind you. She stomped like a frustrated child.

You turned around and Jiu peeked around your side to see what she was so upset about. An unopened box of cake mix stood behind a few plates and bowls of the side dishes that they had prepared, almost completely hidden from view. They must’ve overlooked it in the chaos of all the other cooking they’d been doing.

Jiu sighed, clearly tired. Cooking for the lot of them in general was exhausting, and she felt every possible side effect. But cooking with Sua… well, she deserved some sort of compensation for that. At least an award or something.

“I can make it,” you offered. “You guys can go rest. I’ll have it in the oven in no time.”

Their eyes lit up at that, like two kids on Christmas morning. Your offer was better than five hundred presents under the tree to them in that moment.

“You mean it?”

“Of course.”

You motioned to the living room with your head, encouraging them to take a break. Sua pinched your cheek as a thank you and Jiu informed you of where the ingredients that you would need were located. The eldest only stopped talking once Sua managed to pull her through the doorway and convince her to relax for once in her life.

You shook your head, amused and now alone.

You could already hear the girls running around and laughing with one another from the next room over, only separated by a wall. It brought you peace, in an odd way, even though you weren’t a part of whatever fun they were having. They brought the dorm to life whenever they were all together.

Their happiness was simply contagious, you concluded, as you made your way over to the cabinets and began to gather all of the ingredients you needed. You filled your arms and returned to the counter before making a second trip for the refrigerated components. Once all of them were splayed out in front of you and you’d retrieved the necessary utensils, you pulled your hair back and approached the sink to wash your hands.

A passing couple caught your eye through the window that resided above it, walking their dog together, all bundled up and close to each other. One of them took their phone out to snap some pictures of the sweet moment as you dried your hands off and grabbed one of the unused aprons to tie around yourself.

The three of them looked so… right together. They each complimented each other in some way, whether it be hair color, aesthetic, or even their amount of clumsiness. The puppy in particular was especially uncoordinated – with the way his big paws trod and stumbled over one another in his excited discovery of the land around him – but his two humans were right there beside him to catch him anytime he fell and get him back on track.

It was endearing, really, and it caused a feeling of wistfulness to tug at the strings of your heart, plucking them without minding the dissonant twinge that resounded as a result.

You wanted something like they had. Maybe you’d get it someday.

Alas, the task at hand returned to your mind, beckoning you back down to Earth. When did you start getting so daydreamy all the time?

You shook your head as you approached the counter again, checking through all of the ingredients one last time. With a quick tuck of your sleeves, you got to work.

-

In the living room, Dami was playing with the ends of Yoohyeon’s hair as she rested her head in her lap. The rapper peered down at her best friend, sensing the disappointment that she was trying so hard to hide. The years they’d shared together made her a certified Yoohyeon expert, though, and she saw through her poorly-crafted mask time and time again.

She poked her cheek, gaining her attention.

“Why don’t you go see how she’s doing?” She suggested, cocking her head to the side, towards the kitchen. The rest of the girls were having their own conversations, so she didn’t have to worry about being too secretive.

Yoohyeon’s shoulders raised and fell noncommittally. She didn’t even bother to reply with words. Your previous interaction with Siyeon was still at the forefront of her mind, and it discouraged her in a major way. The two of you shared so much history and looked so good together that she questioned if she even stood a chance at all, no matter if you were single or not. There was always a possibility that you’d end up with her member again – especially considering the way you two hit it off and picked back up on good terms immediately – and that fact was beginning to wear her courage down.

“Go,” Dami simply said. If she didn’t give her a little push, she’d never do it on her own.

She sighed heavily – a bit comically, even – but sat up regardless. Even if she couldn’t be brave when she faced you, it was impossible for her to deny that she wanted to see you.

Dami sent her an encouraging smile as she went, and once she was out the door Jiu caught her eye from across the room. She was perched on the couch opposite her, aware of what just went down between the two of them. She took a deep breath and released it, sending a prayer out to the universe that things would end well.

Or, at the very least, without a fight. Or fire. Or a structural collapse of the dorm.

(Un)surprisingly, with the combined efforts of all seven of the girls, two of those outcomes had already happened on multiple occasions. Jiu really hoped your encounter with Yoohyeon wouldn’t result in the third. She’d managed to narrowly avoid it thus far, and she planned to keep that going for as long as humanly possible.

When the door creaked open slowly, allowing a flood of light to enter your peripheral, you glanced up. A soft looking Yoohyeon came into focus as she emerged from the living room.

“Hi,” she said, voice altered by the small smile that crept onto her face when she saw you in your apron.

After sliding the cake onto the oven rack and shutting its door, you uprighted yourself.

“I was wondering if you’d ever show up.”

“Did somebody miss me?” She teased.

“Mhm,” you nodded. “I always do.”

You were casually leant against the countertop as she approached, eyeing the cake.

Along the sides of the bowls and utensils that you had prepared the batter in, remnants of the ingredients were visible. The bag of flour was standing tall next to them, as well as the sugar and baking soda.

“Did you guys decide on what movie to watch?”

She nodded, taking one last glance around the kitchen before returning her gaze to you. “We haven’t started it yet, though. Once the cake is done we’ll dig into everything and turn it on.”

Your eyes fell briefly to the numerous dishes of food further down on the counter that were just waiting to be eaten. Their containers were all insulated and covered well, preserving their steam and heat to prevent them from turning cold anytime soon.

“You look really cute like this,” Yoohyeon blurted out of the blue, like a secret she couldn’t contain anymore.

Taken aback, you regarded her with a surprised smile. “You think so?”

“The whole look,” she affirmed, motioning up and down your body. “Messy apron and all.”

A terrible, centuries-old, forsaken idea came to mind at the utterance of her words.

“Mmm,” you hummed, nodding to yourself as you pushed your body away from the counter and took a few steps closer to her. Her eyes widened a little as she became flustered, and she felt the fleeting urge to take a half-step back in response to your approach.

Something about the look in your eye worried her.

“If I can manage to pull off looking messy, then I’m sure you could, too.”

Your finger inconspicuously dipped into the cup of icing that you had prepared just before she entered the room. Its rich, chocolatey color coated it completely.

“What do you mean?” Her subsequent chuckle bordered on nervousness.

“Just this,” you said nonchalantly, as you casually brought your hand up to her cheek and ran your finger down it, past her jawline and down across her neck.

Her mouth fell open and she squealed, tightly closing her eyes. You couldn’t help but laugh at the sight.

The icing shimmered as she shifted away from you, now pouting.

“You’re mean.”

“Just making us even.”

“You call this even?!”

You nodded, unfazed by her whining. Your nonchalance drove her crazy, both in the best and worst possible ways. If only she could wipe that stupid smirk off your face…

“I don’t think so,” she mumbled, striding around you and towards the flour. She cupped her hands and filled them with the white powder, ready to strike.

But you caught on immediately and spun around to face her, knowing you could dodge her incoming act of retaliation if you had a clear view. You rounded the other corner of the kitchen island so that it stood in between you, giving you something to hide behind.

“Nuh-uh, Y/N. Get over here and take it like a woman.”

Your head shook. “I’m not so easy, Yooh. You’ll have to catch me yourself.”

She groaned and emptied her hands, dusting them off with an annoyed pout. “You’re no fun,” she complained, before crossing her arms.

She was giving up that easy? Huh…

You approached her cautiously, closing the distance between you as you returned to your original spot in front of the oven.

When you were within arms reach and she hadn’t made a surprise dash for one of the other ingredients to attack you with, you relaxed some.

Her sulking frame settled next to you in front of the oven, watching it work its magic. She gently laid her head on your shoulder, inadvertently making you tense a little bit. You didn’t dare move or breathe too hard, just in case it caused her to pull away. Having her so close was comforting, all cozy and relaxed here at the dorm.

Even if she was subtly wiping the chocolate from her cheek onto your sweater.

“You know, Y/N, I’ve been doing a lot of thinking lately.”

“Yeah?” You asked. “About what?”

“You, mostly.”

Your heart skipped a beat.

“And about how gullible you are.”

Your brows furrowed as you turned to her, confused as to what she meant.

But she was smart, and far faster than you ever knew she could be. She reached into her pocket and retrieved the handful of flour that she had deposited there, and in a second it was cascading over the top of your head in a powdery, hazy wave.

She must’ve hidden it in there when you had your back turned before.

You coughed and fanned it away, blindly reaching out for her. Her maniacal laughter filled the air around you.

She evaded your hands, dodging left and right as she hastily dipped two of her fingers into the mixing bowl behind you and gathered up some of the leftover cake batter onto them.

By then, you had cleared your eyes of the flour and caught her in the act. Before she could get you again, you grabbed her wrist and pushed her flush up against the counter, pinning her there with your hips.

She froze, immediately blushing at the intimate contact.

Oh… oh. So it was like that.

The playfulness of the moment quickly dissipated, shifting into something far less innocent as her giggles died down.

Her heart was racing – evident in the sporadic thumping you felt at her wrist’s pulse point. A mix of emotions all competed with one another inside of her, but the lust in her dark eyes slowly faded in, eclipsing the rest.

She searched your face for some sort of confirmation – some sign that you were just as affected as she was – and she found it in the way that you bit your lip. Your gaze was set on her mouth, admiring the fullness of her lips and the beautiful curves of them. It was achingly close to yours – just a breath away. You moved in a little closer, wanting to test the waters, but were still too afraid to make the next move.

So she made it for you.

Her free hand tangled itself in the material of your apron and tugged on it, closing what little distance was left between you. Her lips were soft and tasted of her favorite vanilla balm as they met yours halfway, pressing to them with a sense of urgency.

You could be caught at any moment if someone decided to walk in. But, strangely, that didn’t faze her. The only thing on her mind was you.

When you didn’t pull away, her body relaxed against yours. Your hold on her wrist loosened some when she deepened the kiss by tilting her head to the side and opening her mouth a little more.

She let both of her hands fall to your hips, which they gripped rather possessively. You whimpered at the feeling of her nails digging into them. An eagerness laid just beneath the surface of her somewhat calm demeanor, and it took every bit of power she had to keep things tame.

Everything she’d been waiting on was finally happening; she never wanted the moment to end.

You slipped your hand underneath the front of her shirt and allowed it to trace the lines of her toned stomach, caressing them in admiration. A shuttered sigh left her mouth in between kisses in response, and her knees grew weak.

You’d lost count of how many times you’d wanted to have her like this over the past few months. She was lost in you, completely and utterly, with how she trembled both in want and nervousness. Never in her entire life had she been so high-strung for someone. Her body hummed for you, encouraged by each and every one of your touches, no matter how small. They simply unraveled her.

She was vulnerable, there in your arms, basked in both the dying sunlight that filtered in through the window and the warm light of the oven that cast against your tangled legs. Hope blossomed in her chest like a poisonous flower, equal parts terrifying and beautiful.

But, all too quickly, a set of not-so-distant shouts and footsteps from the living room rang out.

It was Siyeon and Gahyeon, apparently playing some type of Guess Who game to pass the time.

The sound caught you off guard and snapped you back to reality. You pulled away at once, blushing at your own indiscretion.

Your eyes met Yoohyeon’s briefly before you averted your gaze and took a couple of steps away from her. Perhaps that interruption was a sign for you to stop while you still had the chance.

Her pupils were blown wide, and her lips were kiss-bitten and red – a little swollen. She swallowed thickly, looking dazed; her chest rose at a quicker rate than before, showcasing just how much you affected her.

“I, uh… I’m gonna get some fresh air,” you mumbled, before quickly turning to leave.

Still reeling and attempting to recover, she simply nodded and let you go.

Her palms made contact with the cool surface of the counter once you had exited the dorm and shut the front door behind yourself. Her lips were tingling, and she couldn’t help but smile as she pressed them together.

She couldn’t believe the two of you had just done that.

-

Outside, you paced for a few seconds in order to calm down. Your flushed skin thanked you, reveling in the slightly chilly breeze that soon rolled in.

You couldn’t believe the two of you had just done that.

You wondered, for a genuine second, when you had become clinically insane. Surely if you were to visit a doctor they’d have come to that conclusion.

How had you allowed yourself to get so carried away in the dorm, of all places? With your ex so close, and capable of walking in at any moment? And with Yoohyeon? Her own member?! Your head spun at your own stupidity.

The last thing you wanted to do was put your mending relationship with Siyeon back on the rocks with a stunt like that. You had to be more careful.

But why – why – did kissing Yoohyeon feel so right? It came naturally, like you were always meant to do it. You ebbed and flowed together, pushing and pulling, offering the perfect amount of chase and release.

Your connection with her was entirely different than what you had shared with Siyeon. It was new territory, full of promise just waiting to be discovered, while what you shared with Siyeon was familiar and safe.

It was a battle between routine comfort and the branching of comfort zones. Siyeon offered consistency and predictability – two things you valued most. But Yoohyeon promised a chance at adventure; with her, nothing was certain yet.

It was a love story already written versus an entirely new book, opened to its first, clean page.

If you chose to pursue something with Yoohyeon, you would have to forge your own way together, learning the ins and outs of each other – what made you tick. You’d have to start from scratch and put your trust in her, just the same as you’d done with Siyeon before. You’d have to be unafraid of being hurt again, or at the very least be brave in the face of that fear.

You’d have to entrust your poorly-mended heart to a woman capable of both healing it completely, and breaking it ten times over.

A groan slipped past your lips as you buried your face in your hands and sat down on the edge of the sidewalk. What a predicament you were in.

When you failed to return after a few minutes, Yoohyeon began to overthink the situation and worry about you. Her mind ran wild, and she knew the only way to quiet it was to just talk to you about it.

She grabbed her coat and slipped her boots on at the front door before heading out.

You were sitting on the sidewalk and toying with the pebbles that rested near your feet in an attempt to distract yourself. She took a seat beside you without a word, and you were grateful for that. You had no idea where to even begin.

Something warm wrapped around your shoulders and back, and as she tugged the sides of it further around you, you realized it was her jacket. What had you done to deserve her?

Her hands came to rest in her lap, and you gently reached over to hold them. She interlocked her fingers with yours and placed her free hand on top, bringing you comfort. Her thumb softly rubbed the top of your wrist.

She was always so patient with you, no matter what. She held you like no one else and regarded you with far more adoration than you probably deserved; but day in and day out, she chose that. She chose you.

Above everything else – beyond any hidden desires of her heart or selfish vies for personal gain – she wanted you to be happy and cared for. Truly, she loved you more than words could explain.

“I want this, too,” you said quietly, gazing out across the street in front of you. “I want to try,” you affirmed, and turned to look at her. “But I just need some more time. Being back here after all this time and seeing her again has me a little scattered.”

A pensive expression of contemplation befell her features as she took the news in and processed it. She didn’t bother to rush. Instead, she took her time and tried to put herself in your shoes to better understand you.

After a moment, she nodded and squeezed your hand.

“I’ll wait however long you need me to, Y/N.”

You released a breath of relief that you didn’t even know you had been holding in.

“You’re worth every second,” she added simply, and smiled at you.

God, that smile. You were convinced it could end wars with just how pure it was.

When she turned shy under your gaze and tilted her head down, you noticed a bit of chocolate icing still remained on her cheek. You leaned in and pressed your lips to it, kissing just beside one of her small dimples.

She blushed heavily when you uprighted yourself and swiped your tongue across your lips, tasting it.

The action was simple, but you used it as a means of insuring the promise you were making. With time, she’d have full access to you with every single flaw and messy string attached. But in the meantime, slow and steady would surely win the race. You wanted to do things right.

You lifted the side of her jacket and motioned her closer so that the two of you could share it. When she scooted up next to you and settled against your side, you wrapped it around her and pulled it shut, holding the cold atmosphere around you at bay. Her head found its way to your shoulder, right where it belonged, and you rested yours atop it.

“Thank you,” you uttered softly, so as to not disturb the peace you’d created together.

“For what?”

“Everything.”

Love triangles

I think love triangles are the best love trope hands down. Like I love reading it (hunger games, clockwork angel, inheritance games).

Jesus, and I thought season 2 was bad!

Seriously though, I am very lucky that I might skip season 3 altogether and I’m definitely ignoring season 4. I’m happy to live purely in my season 1 nostalgia days, thank you very much! 🥰🥰

i really loved season four of the umbrella academy. my favorite part was when lila didn’t cheat on diego and five didn’t just give up on everything he did to protect his family. or maybe the part where ben didn’t turn into a monster. or maybe the part where they didn’t all die at the end

bizarre love triangle, truly.

jealous of a man i never liked as anything more than a casual acquaintance.

but i liked him. his music. shared glances from across the room at a party.

its odd that all my friends are dating each other.

pairing up in some way.

i don’t mind being alone. but that doesn't mean i’m not jealous of others for experiencing that type of intimacy i work so hard to find.

Bakugou / Kirishima x reader

_______________________________________________

Here You were.

At the Gates to U.A.

You still couldnt believe that you were here.

It was like a dream come true.

Who could think that you out of all people could get in at U.A.

Well not your ex that was sure.

You shook your head at the thought.

Why would you care about his Opinion plus he was in the past.

Though you couldnt shake the thought that he might be here to, He had been dead set on going to U.A And with a Quirk like his he had a great chance.

You felt someone tap your shoulder.

You turned around to see a green haired man that you seen many times before.

"Modoriya?" You asked.

He looked nervous and quite tense.

"The one and only" He answered with a nervous smile.

Modoriya had gone to the same middle school as you and you became good friends after you and your ex broke up.

"What are you doing here?" Quick Regret hit you after you asked.

What a stupid question.

"Probably the same reason as you"

He said honestly not seeming very nervous anymore.

The two of you talked while walking to Your first class

at U.A.

While walking you noticed you two walked the same direction.

But to be honest you didnt know were all the schools classes was placed anyways.

You saw your class and was amazed by the gaint door.

Did You have a gaint in your class?

You both stopped at the door with the words 1A on it.

"Wait Your in class 1A to?" You asked confused.

He nooded and turned back to face the door.

"Well atleast i know someone in this class" You joked.

He agreed.

You two just stood there infront of the door a while.

"Are we gonna go in?" you asked as you turned your head to him.

He looked over to you and realized you two had stood there for a while.

"O-oh yeah right sorry, lets go" he said and oppend the door.

A lot of face's was in that room, And to be honest you knew none of them... except for the spikey blonde brat that was arguing with a blue haired guy.

It seemed like Modoriya had seen him to cause his face was white.

"Kacchan.." He whispered.

after flipping of the blue haired guy he turned his head towards the door that had been oppend.

His eyes widen a bit.

Seriously Quirkless deku and The stupid blonde how the heck did they even get in he thought to himself.

Your eyes met his and you got atcually scared for a second when his eyes turned dark, a sign of hatred.

But what you didnt know was that the glare was for fucking deku who stood way to close to you.

Sure you were his ex but he never stopped loving you get just knew she couldnt get in the way for his cerear no matter how much he loved her, He had to be the best the number 1#.

Your thoughts ran wild.

Why was he here, well that was a simple question he always wanted to go here, how did he end up in the same class as you, did he haft to be in the same class as you?, could you avoid him all 3 years?, Would he mabye Talk to you again?, Will he bully me like deku?, how can i escape this situation!?

But something made your thoughts stop and that was when people had gathered around you guys to introduce themselves.

Names coming from every corner.

You seemed to get your eyes stuck on a red head.

You didnt exactly remember what he just said his name was but something like kirishima.

A hand waved infront of your face which got you to stop staring.

it was a blonde guy but with a streak of black in it which seemed to look like a lightning bolt?

You didnt really know if it was natural or dyed but who cares.

You felt weird for just staring at him so you thought it might be a good time to introduce yourself to.

"Hi Im Y/N L/N but please call me N/N" ( And if you dont have a nickname thats cool to just think that they call you Y/N okay )

"Hi Y/N" The red head said with a tiny bit of blush om his cheeks.

You gave him a small smile with a wave.

Then someone made their way towards you and pushed people aside.

He pushed all the people aside and stood infront of you.

His aura itself made you shiver.

He wasnt the same loving boyfriend that you had, No He was like he was with every single person, Cruel and mean..

modoriya grabbed your arm just in case.

He looked at modoriya and then back at you.

He grabbed your other arm pulling you outside the classroom and modoriya lost his grip on you.

Not wanting to anger The blonde male more he stayed put.

" What the fuck do you think your doing here!? "

He spat at you now being in the hallway and away from people.

" First of all, Let Go Of My Arm" You stated as you ripped your arm from his grip.

He looked at you angry.

"And secondly, The same reason Your here! To be a hero."

You said as if it was the most obvious thing in the world.

He scoffed.

" Im not here to be just a hero dumbass, im here to be the number 1# Hero "

You crossed your arms over your chest.

" Yeah no shit, You made that very clear when you broke up with me"

You said with confidence Not caring how angry he looked.

He mumbled something under his breath and Walked back to class leaving you in the hallway.

You let out a breath you didnt know you were holding.

after some seconds to get yourself back together you went back to class.

people still talking.

You went to sit down at a desk in the middle row.

You werent in the mood to talk now atleast not after that, Did you really think that you were that useless, So Useless that it was a surprise that you got in or so useless that he got mad?

What the fuck happened to all the late night at your place cuddled up watching a movie in your room, He would never pay any attention to the movie he just hd you while dozing of to sleep.

The movie was probably an excuse so he could hold you without being "Mushy" as he calls it.

He would tell you over and over again that he loves you and you told him you loved him back.

Your heart was torn into peices and then put in a molding machine when he told you he was breaking up with you, It hurt even more when you got to know why he did it to.

He was after fame...

You werent in his future plans..

He told you he had to focus on his cerear and that he cant have you weighing him down from becoming #1 Hero.

You were in his house because he wanted to "Talk"

That obviously didnt go so well though..

You looked at him in horror of his choice, You asked him if what you two had was nothing for him? Were you really just weighing him down?

He just looked at you with an unreadable face.

You looked at him straight in the eyes and told him and i qoute : I really did love you...

tbh that broke his heart to.

he really did love you to but he had to do this right?

it was the right thing to do!

wasnt it...?

Thinking about it hurt, You wanted to throw the desk at the wall but you didnt have the power to do so right now.

looking down at the desk, Hair hiding your face from others.

You heard footsteps closing in then a voice you remembered.

"Hey Y/n right?" you looked up to see kirishima standing infront of your desk.

"Uh yeah Hi" You said with a small blush on your face.

He looked like he was thinking before asking

"Wanna be friends?"

You were a little surprised by his question..

Friends?

Well you were more then happy just surprised that you found someone that wanted to be your friend so fast.

He looked hesitant when you didnt answer and was about to say something when you spoke.

"Of course-" You were cut of by a black haired man in a yellow sleeping bag who you got to know was your homeroom teacher.

~TIME SKIP~

You have gone to U.A about a Month.

Everyone was so nice and welcoming.

You had become friends with most of the people.

There was a girl named Mina that you of course love, Her personality was amazing and she always had Energy to do something and that made others want to do something to.

she didnt know about your past, no one knew.

she said you were her bestie and you kinda felt that bond to.

It felt nice to have a friend like her and most of the other girls were the same.

Your close'st friends were hanta sero, Mina ashido, Denki kaminari, kirishima Eijiro, mezo shoji, kayoka jiro, tokoyami/dark Shadow and Momo yayaorosu.

Mina had invited you to a group hang with a couple of friends and you were more then happy to agree.

What you knew it would be some of your classmates at denki's dorm, which you didn't mind at all tbh you loved denki's dorm you would definitely have it as a number 1 place if it wasnt for jiro's and kirishima's dorms.

Which for you was 1 & 2 spot so denki's dorm had 3rd spot.

______________________________________________

Walking down hallway with mina you finally got to denki's drom.

A couple of people were already there like sero, momo, jiro, tsu, deku and denki obviously.

You wonderd if kirishima would be here.

Mina hasnt said anything special about him

But she did know about that little thing you had for him.

Since she was your best friend after all.

You said you hello to the group and say down beside mina by the bed side.

"Dont worry, He will be here. He's just buying some snacks" Mina told you.

Probably because she saw how you were scanning the room.

You nodded and started talking about all kinds of things with the people of the group.

You and jiro has been talking about some band you wanted to see together.

It had became really popular this year and jiros

Dad had been given 3 free tickets after he drove the lead singer home after his car broke down once.

You didnt exactly remember the name of the band but jiro often plays their songs and its a pretty good band to be honest.

Mina doesnt really like that kind of music she's more for a "softer" kind, atleast thats what she says.

"Ey kiri my man you got the soda i asked for?"

Kaminari asked.

Then a voice you didnt think you would hear here out of all places.

"Shut up dunce face, and heres your god damn soda" bakugou grunted and threw the soda at him.

"Got it!" He responded.

You met bakugous dark crimson pierced äeyes, you had

yet not gotten used to the hatred they carried towards you.

"Be careful to open that kaminari! Its been shaked." Modoriya said trying to get kaminari to put the soda down with the help of Momo.

Bakugou just sat down on the chair on the other side of the room where he could be far away from you.

Minute's pass and mina got a great idea or it was a great idea to her.

"Lets play truth or dare!" She exclaimss

Everyone looks her direction.

"No way!" Bakugou answers.

Now the eyes are on him instead.

"Oh come on! Try and have some fun for once bro." Kirishima try's to convince him, but you knew kirishima would playing so you were a 100% going to.

Though you knew how mina could get when it was about truth or dare...it was scary how dark she would go sometimes.

Everyone sat in a Circle on the ground..well except for bakugou he remained his spot on the chair.

You were stated between tsu and Momo and across from kirishima.

Mina sat between tsu and sero, then there was

Denki and bakugou on the chair and then jiro and deku sat beside Momo.

"So Whos first?" Mina said excitement in her voice.

You looked around as a voice was heard, it was modoriya.

" Uhm i can start " modoriya said queitly.

"Okay!" Truth or dare!" Mina cheered.

Modoriya looked nervous while thinking wisely.

"Truth?" He stated with a raised eyebrow.

Mina Thought for a second with her fingers om her chin.

It was like a light bold popped up over her head when she got an idea.

She turned back to modoriya with a grin.

"is it true that you like ochaco?" She asked clearly already knowing the answer.

His nervous look was taken over by a shocked one.

"Hah!? Where did you hear that!?" He asked while his nervousness was slowly returning.

"Oh come on mina, what a bad question its obvious that he does" Denki stated with his head leaning towards Minas way and a smile.

And now the poor boy was shocked again.

"Is it that obvious?" He asked quietly his head tilting donwards.

"It Is, sorry man" Sero answers him.

"I dont think she has a clue Though" You try to

Cheer him up.

"Soo moving on" Mina said.

she turned to look at the person next to modoriya.

"Momo Your turn!" Mina said.

___________________________________________

As you take your first steps out of the airport you hear people calling your name.

You had been living with your mother and just got back to japan.

a short male with long blonde hair leads the group off boys you known since you were a kid your way.

You smile when you see them….its been so long since you saw them…your friends.

The small blonde greets you with a smile he had ran before the others when his eyes had landed on you.

“Hi, Mikey..”

Your smile grows, your finally back..

The other males of the group approach and You look at them one after another.

A tall blonde with both sides of his head shaved and a dragon tattoo on his temple.

His hair is tied back into a braid, last time you saw him it was a tiny ponytail.

Hes draken.

The man beside him has long black silky hair, That cant be the same black short hair he had once could it?

His iconic smirk is on display and his fangs are showing.

He leans against the wall that we are standing by and he stares at you with his beautiful eyes.

He has lots of necklaces and even one you gave him back in the day.

His shirt is from a band you two used to love together, you even went to one of their concerts when they came to tokyo.

It's baji.

Then a male that is on drakens other side has lilac hair and eyes.

His hair is very short and almost a tiny bit buzzed.

The sun shines on his erring that he only has on one ear.

The guy who helped you when you accidentally fuck up your clothes, he fixes them for you.

Poor mitsuya, He spent so much time on those clothes.

Then of course your close friends, The hairballs Nahoya and souya.

But..?

Who's this guy with yellow flabby hair?

She raises her glasses to set them on top of her head.

The guy looks nervous and Confused.

beside him is another short dude who also has dirty blonde hair but with a darker color under his hair.

Baji takes her glasses, putting them on himself, surprising her in the process.

“Why are you only greeting Mikey, Eh? How rude of you.”

She chuckles and puts her hand on her waist.

“I'm not going to greet you when you steal my glasses, dude.”

Draken sighs at how they are behaving.

"Ah, come on Y/N/N. We all know you have three pairs more in your bag.”

The way Mikey says it makes it sound like he knows everything about you.

Mitsuya laughs a little with a kind smile.

Baji Snickers at that and Puts his arm around your shoulder to steady himself on you.

The guy with yellow hair accidentally speaks

“Y/N/N…?”

Everyone looks at him.

She Smiles as he panics because everyone is looking at him.

"That's just a stupid nickname Mikey gave me, My name is Y/N. Who are you?”

“Ah! That's takemitchy! My new friend!”

The Takemitchy or whatever his name was smiles nervously.

She Leans back a little into the arm that baji still has around her neck.

Looking over at the other guy beside ´Takemitchy´ Who looks unbothered.

“You must be Chifuyu, am I right? Baji sent a picture of you when we were discussing friends.”

Chifuyu Gets a little surprised and holds back a smile to look cool.

He gave a quick nod and crossed his arms.

“Well, I'm exhausted. You guys came here on your bikes or did you walk?”

Baji pushes off her shoulder to stand straight.

He grabs one of her bags and carries it behind his back over his shoulder.

he grabs another, throwing it over to Draken who catches it.

“Hey careful there's important stu-”

“We came on the bikes stupid, so we gotta split your bags.”

He walks over to the bikes.

“Smiley, take the bag I'm carrying. She's riding with me.”

Y/N throws her hands up.

“Hell yeah!”

The boy called takemitchy turns to chifuyu with a confused face

Chifuyu runs up to baji by the bikes.

“But, Then who am I riding with? I dont have one yet and I came here with you?”

Baji looks at him and shrugs then hands Nahoya the bag he's carrying.

He doesn't really look like he cares like he usually looks like.

In the end he ended up on the back of souyas bike with an annoyed face.

Takemitchi is very confused by this situation.

Naoto said nothing about a girl named Y/N.

This Woman was a mystery…

He didn't want to be weird and ask questions though…

He was even more confused when he noticed that they were at Mikey's house..?

“Uhm…Mikey? Why are we at your house?”

Takemitchi said with a confused stare.

He looks over at baji who's helping Y/N off his bike.

“Oh, well Y/N is gonna stay at my house until Her dad gets back from work.”

Mikey smiles as he parks his bike.

The twins wave their goodbyes and leave, leaving The seven alone.

The place Y/N’s things inside mikey's room and then Takemichi makes up the courage to finally ask.

“who uhm..? Who are you now again?”

Y/N looks over at him with her small smile.

“Y/N”

She gives a simple answer and he feels embarrassed for making the question seem like that amd when he hears Mitsuyas and bajis small laughs.

Mitsuya pats Takemichis shoulder and sits down beside him.

“Y/N is an old friend, she moved to Another country with her mom some years ago. That's why we met her at the airport.”

Takemichi nods slowly, finally understanding the situation.

That explains why Mikey got so happy when they met her earlier.

Though..? if it was years ago they met her, why did they act so chill like that?

Well Mikey did act chill the first time they met too so maybe it's not that weird.

Baji grabs his phone and scrolls through his camera roll.

He grins and shows Takemichi and Chifuyu an old picture of Y/N.

“That's Y/N the last time we saw her.”

He chuckles with his classic grin.

She had A very ruined and messy braid instead of let out hair.

She had red scars and Looked beat up, But still made a funny face for the picture.

Baji scrolls again and shows a video of her dancing in what Takemichi and chifuyu guesses is her room.

Its a very Fast song and it sounds like Rock.

Baji was the one filming but then Mitsuya goes over with a soda and baji gives him the camera and joins her.

Their headbanging and laughing lots.

“Don't show that! It's embarrassing!”

Y/N Says and tries to grab bajis phone but he laughs and holds it out of her reach.

His other hand holds on her shoulder to hold her off.

“No way! its hilarious!”

He laughs.

Draken shakes his head in disappointment and chifuyu gets ahold of his phone.

“But wait? that looks nothing like her though..? and why is she so beat up in the first picture?”

Y/N who is still tackling with baji looks up.

“I mean how would you know that you picked up the right girl?”

Chifuyu continuous but Y/N Cuts him off as she sits up straight.

“Which girl would willingly go with some random guy who looks like they're in a gang?”

Now Chifuyu got embarrassed slightly.

“but..? What about the scars on your face?”

Baji whos now laying on the ground, leaning his face against his hand and his elbow on the ground speaks up.

“Shes one of tomans founders with us. Actually The reason Draken hates Fighting with women is cause He accidently pushed Y/N too hard once and She fell over onto the road in tokyo. I was there too.”

Chifuyu and Takemichi were surprised at that.

“Wait? i thought that it was because he respect them a lot and cause he promised emm-”

“Promised what?”

Emma cuts him off as she walks into Mikey's room with tea.

“Oh! I thought I heard your voice Y/N. I missed you!”

She puts down the tea drag Y/N with her to the real house.

______________________________________

Mitsuya Holds his tea and looks at baji.

“Baji, you seemed to act like you see her every day when you met her earlier? What's it been? 3 years? Do you still-”

Baji cuts him off and his grin falls.

“No. No i don't."

Mitsuya nods and Draken stands up.

“Im going to go check on those two, ill be back.”

He then walks out of the garage that is called mikey's room towards the main building.

Mikey then says.

“Y/N doesn't know about kazutora right? Should we tell her? I Mean since Y’know..?”

Mitsuya Sighs a bit, A takes a deep breath and smiles.

“Let's let her be happy for a little while longer, yeah?”

Takemichi leans forward, steadying his elbows on his knees. Who's kazutora now again?

“Kazutora is coming out soon anyways.”

Baji announced still not smiling.

“Still, Y/Ns gonna freak out if she knows hes been locked in without her knowing.”

Mitsuya nods slowly and sips the tea. Mikey did have a point.

"I still suggest we let her be happy. Atleast for a small bit. And if Kazutora is comming out soon then its all Okay right? Plus If she asks why we never told her we could just say she never asked."

Takemitchi tilts his head, and chifuyu copies his movements. Chifuyu had heard from baji about Kazutora before but both males wondered what Y/N had to do with him?

"Who is Kazutora and what does Y/N have to do with him?"

Takemitchi finally asked as his chin rested in his hands. He was so confused about this situation.

"Kazutora is an old founder of toman and a dear friend of ours. Y/N and him was a couple before she moved and they never broke up. Kazutora did something horrible after she left though..and now he's in juvie. He gets out this year though.."

Mitsuya explains setting the tea down softly. Takemichi looks at Mitsuya as he talks and nods.

"What did Kazutora do?"

Mitusya looks at Mikey as if asking if he can tell or not...Mikey looks up at Takemichi.

"He killed someone. Someone very dear to me."

Takemichi's eyes widen and so does Chifuyus. Did Y/N know about this? Probably not..?

"Of course he was very affected by Marias move and really missed her. What he did cannot be blamed on sadness but I believe it was a part of it."

Mitsuya smiles a little as he talks to make the tension lift. Takemichi nods again. Y/N used to be a member off Toman...Tomans only girl too. If Y/N now is back that means she will be a part again right?

"Hey..? Now that Y/N is back does that mean she will join toman again..?"

They all look at him. Baji nods and Mikey shrugs.

"It's her choice, of course."

Y/N's Dad got off work pretty quickly And Baji Drove her over. Miley and takemichi followed along for fun and Takemichi's jaw almost dropped.

Y/N had a mansion..!? Her house was huge...Was she rich? Damn.

"Thanks for dropping me off guys, I'll see you tommorow?"

Baji grins and Mikey nods.

"Yeah! Baji can pick you up tommorow and we can Hang out."

She smiles brightly at that.

"Okay! It's been a while since I saw the shrine too."

Baji ruffles her hair and chuckles.

"You can come along to the next toman meeting if you Want."

She looks at him surprised But really happy.

"Really!?"

Baji nods and She squeals and jumps a little.

"Thanks! Gotta go now, I'll see you guys tommorow yeah?"

The three guys nodded and waves her goodbye. Takemichi then taps Mikeys shoulder.

"Is she like...Rich?"

Mikey laughs and baji snickers. Mikey looks back at him from his shoulder.

"Yeah? She is, so?"

Takemitchi quickly became defensive.

"N-nothing! I was just surprised.."

Kazutoras pov:

I got realized a week ago. I've set my plan to end mikey into game. I'm now a part of valhalla...

I'm walking down the alley to see Draken in the big tunnel. What could he possible need to tell me? Probably not to go against Mikey. But that's to late.

"Draken."

I say and my earring jingles with my every step. Draken looks at me with the same face as always.

"Kazutora."

Draken takes a breath before continuing.

"Kazutora, If your planing to go against Mikey then-"

I cut him off with a slight chuckles and I smile.

"Im not planing anything. I'm doing it."

Drakens game darkens and he looks to the side. His braid sways with the wind.

"Y/N is back."

That's all he said, and my smile drops as I hear those words. Is she back? Y/N... He must be lying. I dont believe him and now my mood is ruined. Draken then continues.

"Would you really try to kill him when the woman you love is in town..? How would she see you?"

I bit the inside of my cheek and I feel my anger boiling.

"Shut up..."

A turn to leave and draken calls after me.

"Mikey would give you another chance if you would take it."

I ignore him and continue walking. Was Y/N actually back? No way. Don't fall for his tricks Kazutora. I say to myself.

"Goddammit.."

I walk back to the place I hang out, I dont really own the place. It's abandoned enough for me to stay in.

Back to normal:

You had been hanging out with The guys for about a week now.

You knew Kazutora was missing, but you didn't ask...You didn't want to pry or anything.

Then baji started distancing himself from mikey and the others.

He still hung out with you but not the others..?

You were hanging out with baji in your room, simply listening to music and just vibing.

Talking about everything and anything.

"Hey baji?"

You say and look at him, he's sitting on the end of your bed with a soft smile. You smile back and bajis heart flutters.

"Mhm yeah?"

He answers and pets your dog who's also laying on your bed.

"Whats happening between you and the guys?"

You tits your head and he looks down at the dog.

"Its complicated. I'm switching gang to valhalla. But its all good. Kazutora is on that side so why can't I?"

Your eyes widen slightly and Your head is straight again. Did he just say Kazutora? Finally someone talks about him...but wait what? Hes in another gang..? Since when?

"Wait kazu is in another gang..? Since when?"

Baji sighs, he doesnt want to be the one who tell you all this. You can feel your heart beating faster.

What had happend to Kazutora..? Sure he never tried to contact you like the others but you didnt think anything had happend.

Baji started to explain everything for you, Word after word gave you another shock. Kazutora had been in juvie? No matter how much you asked baji didnt tell you why. Your heart pounded so loud...This was a really big shock...

"He just got our and now he's in a gang called valhalla."

Baji said calmly as he pets your dog, not meeting your gaze, it was desperate...Of course you still love Kazutora...Why wouldnt you be? Its not like You ever lost those feelings.

"Wait so...Your leaving toman to be in a gang with Kazutora cause he did something and just got out of juvie? Why cant he just join toman again?"

You were confused. This made no sense.

"Thats somewhat on the right track. Kazutora chose not to join toman again...Some stuff happend, alright? Stop asking so much. The less you know the better it is."

You feel the bed shift as Baji gets of the bed. He didnt want to tell you too much, he didn't want this to affect you in anyway possible...He looks back at you.

"Im going, see you."

You scramble to get off the bed too. Your dog reacting with a jolt and looks around confused since it was so cuddled up.

"What? Why?"

Grabs his bag and carrying it over his shoulder.

"Gotta get home, before my mom gets mad. You know ill never hear the end of it otherwise."

You nod slowly and understand his point. Then you remember something and hurries over to your desk. You open a drawer and dig around in it. You got what you searched for and held it up.

"Whats that?"

Baji says, He didnt mean for it to come out like he was annoyed. He was never annoyed with you.

"A necklace, duh."

You walk up to him and hands it to him. He feels the cold metal of the necklace against his warm palm.

"Give this to kazu will you?"

He frowns but nods, how annoying. It's a necklace with a symbol on it for good luck... He puts it in his pocket and gives you a small wave then leaves.

You really hope Kazutora gets your gift...Does he even know your back? Probably not.

___________________________________________

Baji,s pov:

I held the necklace in my hand as I sit on my bed in my room.

Im annoyed. Im irritated. Why does she still love him...And not me..? Of course im happy for their love but im not.. I wanna burn the necklace...what if I just...dont give it to him?

He probably wont believe that its from her. Goddammit...Why is it so complicated to give him something from her?

I let out a long sigh and close my hand around the necklace. I lay down and and stare up at my ceiling.

What's wrong with me?

The next day I meet up with Kazutora again. I have to do this...Kazutora smiles as he sees me.

"Bajii"

I grin to hide my emotions and A small nod as a 'wassup'

"Yo, Kazutora."

Kazutora chuckles and we lean on the railing. Then I remember the necklace....Shit..I take a breath and reach down in my pocket. I hold it out and push it against his chest.

"Here."

Kazutora's eyes widen and he tilts his head.

"You got me a necklace?"

He asks confused, He didnt look very fond of it.

"What? No, Its from Y/n. Not me."

I freeze when I see Kazutora Grabs it and throws it as far as he can. The necklace is gone..just like that? I'm shocked as fuck but I hide it behind a bored face.

"Hm, guess you didn't like it."

I try to act calm and like I dont care when I actually do. Kazutora turns his head to me and I can see in his eyes that he's annoyed.

"Y/n isn't back. Stop trying to make it seem that way. It's annoying."

Now it's my turn to tilts my head and raise my eyebrow.

"What?"

Kazutora looks in the direction he threw the Necklace. How he wanted to believe that you were back, he truly did. But not once in three years did he receive a letter or anything. She just moved...and that was betrayal to him.

"She's not here. she's not coming back either."

I have to hold back a laugh at that. What is this nonsense he's talking about.

"Whatever you say, man."

Your pov again:

Your walking down the street when you see the two boys you seen with your friends when they picked you up from the airport.

You walk over to them, The boy you remember as chifuyu has bruises and lots of bandages. The other guy who you remember as 'takemitchy' looked shaken up and he has bruised knuckles.

Well by this you got the wrong idea...

"Hey! Takemitchy was it? The hell did you do to him?"

Takemitchy turns to see you with An umbrella, it's raining a bit. He got Confused and looks around.

"Y/n?"

Chifuyu asks also confused.

"Why do you both look confused? Did you hit chifuyu Eh?"

Now your getting irritated, who beats up their own friends? Chifuyu then understands and starts laughing.

"You thought Takemitchy beat me up?"

Takemitchys eyes widen and he starts to understand.

"Nah this guy can't beat up anyone, well except this tire that's supposed to be a swing not a punching bag."

Chifuyu clears, He leans back a bit and Takemitchy looks offended then embarrassed.

"Wait so...? Who beat you up?"

Chifuyu looks off to the side, Clearly unsure about telling you.

"Baji-kun did."

Takemitchy says with ease. Chifuyu refuses to look at them. You don't really believe that. From your view they seemed kinda close.

"No way. I thought baji and you were close..? Why would he-"

Chifuyu cut you off, He looks at you and smiles.

"Dont worry, baji San only did it cause he needed to get in to Valhalla. He didnt mean it, plus I believe he has a plan."

You tilt your head to the side, What the actual fuck are they talking about? Baji had a plan? Plan for what? What's going on?

"A plan for what? What plan? Did I miss something?"

This was all so confusing. What was chifuyu talking about? And why did baji even go into the rival gang? Its not like him...

Takemitchi looks just as awkward and confused as you. He didnt really know what Chifuyu was talking about but he knew mikey said he would kill him if he didnt get baji back (He obviously wouldnt)

"Well..."

Chifuyu and takemitchi shared a stare. If Chifuyu was gonna explain this he would have to explain it in a way that didnt give Takemitchi off as a timeleeper.

What if he just said that kisaki gave him bad vibes? Would that pass? This was giving him a headache, and not only from getting beat up earlier.

"I think baji did it to go against kisaki. Kisaki is giving off a bad vibe and-"

He tried to make it sound like a good enough reason while still not giving away to much info. You werent supposed to be in this mess. Now that the two think about it, they shouldnt have told you at all. But you cut off their train of thoughts.

"Are you sure? Because baji told me it was cause Kazutora was back in town. Baji and kazu were very close back then. So its not a surprise."

You shrug, not finding the situation that bad. Sure, it's a little weird, but not that bad. Baji was acting protective of the information about why and other things. But he had the right to have his secrets. Chifuyu nods, feeling confident.

"Im sure! Me and takemitchi can talk to him before the war"

He didn't even think that he just gave you free info. The war between valhalla and toman...? Why would he change teams just a while before the war?

"War...?"
