And now I understood things that I didn't understand before..

On to my theory-

Tikki suggested that Marinette should take as many miraculous as possible. If she actually would've done that, who do you think she would have approached with the miraculous first?

Unlucky 13 Au (Miracle Box Headcannon/Redesign)

Okay, im just gonna say it. There are too many miraculouses (miraculi?) in Canon. Some of them even have the same powers! Like the Tiger was what? Invisibility?? The Fox is illusions and lies! It could make someone invisible. Which makes the tiger feel irrelevant. So I've changed some of the powers around so none of them overlap in abilities. As well as some of the jewelry designs themselves, having both of the villian jewels be brouches is sooo lazy imo.

In This au is There's only ONE Miracle Box, and only 13 Miraculi. Six Yin, six Yang, and one netural Gray one. Matching yin and yang pairs should not be worn together by a single host because this much power in one body could not only be extremely dangerous to the individual, but also to the whole world itself.

Here is a list of them in order of strongest to weakest.

The Ladybug and Black Cat Miraculous are unchanged. Granting the hosts of the kwami Tikki and Plagg power over the universal concepts of Creation and destruction respectively. Yin and Yang. You already know this.

The Rat Miraculous grants the host of the Kwami Mullo power over Math, more specifically Equilibrium, or balance if you will, it doesn't have a pair because Math balances itself out.

i headcannon that marinette photographic/phonetic memory, and that the Rat Miraculous is the math miraculous that was mentioned in the comics that one time, and that if an incompatible person were to try and use it they would at BEST develop a severe case of split personality disorder/ or schizophrenia, and at WORST their brain would- just- melt out of their ears.

The Horse(yin) and Rabbit(yang) Miraculous Grant the host of the Kwami Kalhki and Jaade power over the universal concepts Space and Time. if one person used both at the same time itd prolly break the space-time continuum.

(also- the rabbit miraculous is resposible for inspiring the Magical girl genre, long story short there was a time travel akuma and marinette doesnt wanna talk about how she got stuck in feudal Japan okay. but yeah. jade rabbit, Jaade rabbit, cant believe they named the moon after a Kwami)

The Hound(yin) and Fox(yang) Miraculous Grant The host power over the Universal concepts of Truth, or detection and Lies or illusions. (Trixx and Collee think that humans have too many words that mean the same thing) (the hound is still a chocker necklace btw, my art isn't exactly to scale)

In this headcanon, the Hound miraculous is also MIA missing from the box, because if they had it they could just use it to detect where tf the other missing miraculi are, and then we wouldnt have a plot. its somewhere in the US but marinette dont know that yet. (maybe they find it durring the new york special, since those other miraculi dont exist. maybe spiderman/the avengers/the batfam helps ladybug retrieve it, depends on the writer i guess.)

The Snake(yin) and Tiger(yang) Miraculous Grant the hosts of the Kwami of Sass and Roaar power over the Universal concepts of Foresight and Instinct(or impulsivity) While the snake is still a bracelet, the tiger in this au is a pair of brass knuckles because what more impulsive than punching someone?

The Bee(yin) and Peafowl(yang) Miraculous Grant the host of the Kwami Pollen and Duusuu power over the universal concepts of Subjegations/control and Emotions(and elements! Like each emotion is tied to an element so if a person is feeling anger, Mayera can give them fire powers, or she can fight with fire powers herself, sadness is water, joy is wind, fear is ice, calm is earth, love is ???)

also the peafowl jewel is one of those fancy Japanese hair stick things, that Japanese people put in there hair buns, you know what I'm talking about, I just can't remember the word. (yo- future echo here- i looked it up, there is NO WORD they are legitimitly called "japanese hair sticks" google it if u wanna know what im talking about)

The Turtle and Butterfly Miraculous grant the host of the Kwami Waayz and Nooro power over the universal concepts of Defence/Protection/Stability and Dreams/Ambitions/offense.

So my explanation for what hawkmoth is doing is.. like.. he's taking advantage of people's despair at whatever hopeless situation their currently in and lulling them into a sleepy/hypnotized state where they have no inabitions/filters/selfcontrol, to get them to agree to help him get the Bug&Cat. Which is why he couldn't get Marinette when she was chanting solutions to her problem because she refuses to ever believe anything is hopeless/impossible, Refuses to let her guard down, Refuses to FALL ALSEEP. And it's why he couldn't akumatize Chloe because she's to stubborn/naive to believe that a situation is so hopeless that she can't get out of or do anything about it, weather that be with her money or her whining.

(I made what the box looks like, fuck that horrendous baby-looking-toy from canon, that shits ugly af.) Also u can see some of the kwami redesigns on the edge, if I didn't draw a kwami it means they look like their canon counterpart. It's kinda hard to tell but Kalhki is supposed to be a unicorn. (SPACE UNICORN!!)
