In the first season of Dragons Rising, Kai says to Wyldfyre "you remind me of me" and I didn't really think too much about it, since I wasn't very fond of Wyldfyre.
But now that I watched part 1 of season 2.. I actually see it! she reminds me so much of pre season 8 Kai and I literally love it so much😂

SPOILERS FOR DRAGONS RISING SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS
- how did the merge even happen? it's something to do with those source dragons but what specifically? is there 16 source dragons for the 16 realms?
- what specifically are all the realms? WHAT ABOUT THE CURSED REALM???
- how did all of the realms merge but there are still monsters in the mergequakes? did not ALL of each realm merge with ninjago? or are they just being transported from something else?
- LLOYDS VISIONS. WHAT DO THEY MEAN. also taking power from the source dragon literally knocked lloyd out for days, what other repercussions is that going to have?
- what are jay and cole up to?
- HOW DID ZANE END UP THERE? HOW DID HE TURN OFF?
- elemental powers- are there a set in every realm?? or does wyldfire also just have fire? her fire is different than kai's in color but is there actually a difference? also does sora actually have elemental powers?
- what makes riya so special as a dragon or is he just suffering from important side character syndrome
- is wu dead? (god i hope so) is he just a ghost?
- when is the next season supposed to come out
Genuinely this hadn't really hit me until now. It hurts so much to think how lonely he must have been and how horrible that time must have been for all of them (except zane who was basically asleep that whole time) but also I kinda want to watch 3 seasons of everyone's life in those years.

The fact that Lloyd was basically house bound for YEARS to keep the merge quakes at bay. It would kinda explain why he doesn’t seem to really know what’s going on with new ninjago at all
I can’t imagine how lonely he was going from one big happy family in a monastery to being the only one there— it would also explain why he spent so much time meditating near wu’s portrait and why he couldn’t handle the crowd
OR why people didn’t recognize him at the carnival, he has really been away from society so much so that people thought he was missing
He’s also changed so much people don’t recognize him anymore
The sibling dynamics for Kai and Nya and the full RGB trio are absolutely immaculate! Peak vibes! Probably the best in the entire series!

Ohhhh this is legit. Lloyd never talking about himself but when he does, he says concerning things very casually and then moves on.

Okay but I can’t help but think that Lloyd would actively avoid talking about himself. Like, he is Master Brickwall.
Occasionally, he’ll say something about himself that’ll make his students realize he’s deeply traumatized and then not elaborate on it.
Eg.) “I knew the last wind master. I like you better.”
Care to tell the class why you dislike the previous Wind Master? Care to get therapy for that?
Or maybe it goes something more this:
“I completely understand what it’s like to have a complicated relationship with your parents. My dad almost killed me once.”
A thunderbolt of shock ricocheted through Sora. If she were on the brink of crying about five seconds ago, she definitely wasn’t now.

If I'm pleasantly surprised by any specific thing about Dragons Rising, it's that it FINALLY made me like Kai again. This is the first time I've liked him in a LOOONG time.
If they can do that for Kai, god above what they could do for Jay holy shit if they can avoid sidelining others for Jaya plot, AND make Jay actually funny, and make his jokes IN-character, I may faint.
