Okay but like, this might be shocking for a Nuts and Dolts shipper to say, but I don't think that infodump Penny dropped in V8C3 about Petal Burst was JUST because it was Ruby's Semblance (although that definitely helped), but because the topic ALSO happened to be something she'd be interested in anyway.
It being Ruby's Semblance just QUADRUPLED her interest in the subject.
Whether that topic was molecular physics or Semblances in general is another question, but the idea of Penny just having that power-point ready for gushing about Ruby's Semblance while also having an entire folder on a computer filled with notes she's taken on either "the properties of molecules" or "neat Semblances I saw" is just...

Honestly this is super adorable yeah aha, and I know during V9 this was an illusion saying that, but the fact that she said Ruby "meant the world to her" confirms to me that she was probably really focused on her in general, no matter if it's in a friendly or romantic way. Ruby's been an important person for her since the start and idk, when I like people I also like to know stuff about them too aha. I think it's pretty cute she knows Ruby so well she figured out before her how her Semblance works really. Idk if she improvised this presentation or if she had it ready, but either way, she's really good to explain when it comes to Ruby-
