Consider the following, Illia at a party in Atlas when she spots some of her old "friends" and flashes them a big old shiny toothed grin to flex on them, also we find out Neon was one of those friends who chose to keep her own Faunus nature a secret and even joined in mocking Ilia.
AU where Illia ‘s parents never died she kept up the charade and eventually became friends with Weiss even following her to Beacon but because of the irregularities on her documents Glynda decides to phone all the students former schools and while Ilia passes Jaune is found out and Ilia ends up on team PINR(Pioneer) with Pyrrha Ren and Nora,
During the forest exam Ilia feels bad because both of Weiss’s first picks for partner got taken by each other, when she and Pyrrha bump into each other,
Later when Ilia thinks Weiss was killed she looses it and changes colors in front of her teammates, they all decide to keep her secret for her,
To kill the Death Stalker Ilia uses her whip to grab Nora’s hammer so she can swing Ilia who is holding Pyrrha’s hand and then throws Pyrrha at it she embeds her Spear in it’s face, after which Ilia does the same thing to Nora who throws Ren at it who uses his Aura to drive the spear through it’s whole body,
When the teams see Cardin bullying Velvet and comment on how it must be hard being a Faunus, Ilia agrees and is clearly upset, do to not wanting to blow her secret, So Nora jumps up and tells Cardin to pick on someone his own size, he then Points out Nora is actually smaller than Velvet, which causes her to pause admit he’s right, then flying spear his ass anyway,
Ilia: Your going down princess!
Weiss: Gods i hope so.
Ilia: wat
Weiss: wat
Weiss&Ilia: (Useless gay silence)
(Ilia is walking down the Streets of Atlas to meet up with team RWBY)
Neon:...Ilia?!
Ilia (Turning to see who said her name): Umm yes?
Neon: I-It’s me, umm Neon...
Ilia: Oh...umm h-hey there, umm i see you got some good dental work done heheheheh... Neon I’m...
Neon (Neon cutting her off and eyes beginning to well up): I AM SO SORRY! I was a coward and i was so scared they would find out!
Ilia (in her head after notice Neon’s tail): oh...
Neon (Now outright crying): And You needed Me to be your friend more than ever and i just went along with everyone else and i am just so sorry for what i did, and i promise i will never hide while another faunus is being hurt like that! please forgive m...
Ilia (Interrupting her with a hug): Neon! it’s OK, we were kids, I was scared too, and i lashed out, and then just kept lashing out more and more because i was scared i wouldn’t be anyone anymore without that fear and anger, but you, look at you! strutting around head held high wearing your faunus pride in a atlas academy uniform, making a real difference, the same difference i wish i could have made.
Neon (Hugging back and now crying because a fellow faunus didn’t mock or belittle her for wanting to pursue her education in her homeland): Thank you so much,
Ilia: So Velvet huh? they call you that because of the sweet smooth accent of yours?
Velvet: No it’s because it’s ma name.
Ilia: (Frustrated gay silence)

Weiss (Offstage applauding her friend): It was the obvious pick, i mean her only real competition for being a team leader was me, and since i’m on a different team it was a sure thing!
Ruby: Then why were you sweating and looking so nervous?
Weiss: Because your cape is crooked! now straighten it out, it will look bad when i’m formally made team leader if my team is in such a state!
(Jaune with Oscar sitting on his shoulders applauds and waves to the group)
(Pyrrha Smiles blushes and sheepishly waves back,)
(Lie Winks at him and gives him a finger gun,)
(Both notice the other’s flirting and lock eyes the first salvos have been fired, the war the blond himbo is on,)

Emerald: Nah you need a heart to pump blood, so if i stole it you would be dead, also organ theft takes allot of up front investment and prep, i mean you can’t just fence some kidneys at a pawn shop, you have to have a buyer lined up and quick transit for the organs to avoid them becoming unusable.

Prismatic Ponytails Coffee Shop AU, but Weiss is the Barista after running away from her family and Ilia is the customer pretending to be rich to fit in with the other students at the local university,
(Ilia and Weiss staring each other down having failed repeatedly to top each other, then turning to stare as the door opens, then grinning)

Rough Idea
Summer Rose Court Ilia as an alternate main character idea,
If the player completely refuses to go with Glynda as Ruby, Tai will finally tell Goodwitch to just stop and go get the real Heir,
We are then switched to playing Ilia who lives with the Faunus in the forests, Glynda shows up Along with Yang who is being sent to join the court, and they eventually manage to Talk Ilia into becoming Queen,
Over the course of the game we learn the dark truth of Ilia’s origins, her father is Ruby’s uncle, who was the original Heir, how ever after his mother learned he had not only been abusing faunus women for years but actively killing his own children to cover up for this, she murders him in a brutal display of power, and begins searching for any of her surviving grandchildren whom she decalres her Heirs, but dies before she can find the one survivor as her mom and had secreted her away,
the queen dies and Ruby’s parents take the throne, realizing after learning about this, Ruby’s parents send Qrow to find and kill the remaining child, Ilia, so she can never pose a threat to them or Ruby, Qrow succeeds in killing Ilia’s parents(Mom and Adopted father) but her Chameleon powers allow her to hide and she escapes into the wilds and is taken in by the Faunus there,
As a MC Ilia is more controlling and aggressive than Ruby, Crescent likes her more right out of the gates, But she’s also got some more rocky relationships like the ones with Ozpin and Glynda,
Her main character arc is learning to live her life, and not have her parent’s death define her so completely,
the public perceives her as a puppet or figure head,
Ilia won’t romance Jaune and, her version of the Nora romance is more about Her trying to push Ren out before accepting that she loves Nora enough to share her with him, Her romances have BDSM vibes, which Ilia uses as a way to make people feel safe and content,
Ilia’s interaction with Qrow in the finale is used to parallel Luna Fracta, Crescent will point out if Ilia’s choices match or if they are separate, I.E. she was able to pity the monstrous Fracta despite her ebing far more guilty of murders than Qrow ect,
