i also think it's worth mentioning that the show really hammers home that, despite some more mature themes in the show, all of the lead characters are just teenagers

charles and edwin are dead BOY detectives, not just dead detectives. they are assigned to the night nurse, who looks for missing CHILDREN. edwin wears his school uniform. niko and crystal are asked why they aren't in school multiple times. edwin having his first kiss is a major plot point.
