So I have no doubt a lot of people come to my account for Rwby stuff because for some reason y'all are brain dead enough to like my garbage. And while I do enjoy this fandom it has been very nice to write fanfics for it my main focus for like Ruby related stuff is mainly going to be the rewrite of Rwby. Plus I want to post more of my original stuff and also want to Branch off into other topics that I like such as Celeste, hollow Knight, and maybe even inscryption again if I feel like it

hell maybe even little nightmares cuz I've been playing the games.

But the main question is will I still continue posting rwby fanfics?

Yes.. but also no

Now what do I mean? Well I mainly mean that I'm not going to write them anymore unless I am specifically asked to do one in which I will try to fulfill to the best of my ability.

... Ok let me explain something that hopefully makes sense.

The woman of Rwby have very little characterization to the point they get overshadowed by the male characters (example: jaune). Crwby/Rt cannot write women, but they also just can't write. Team Rwby in the series has made baffling decision after baffling decision, such as.

Lying to ironwood despite him being trustworthy as seen multiple times before.

Acting as if ozma is suddenly the worst person in existence because he hid the fact Salem probably can't be killed. While yes that is very questionable that doesn't change the fact he did care for beacon and every other academy. He specifically made sure the students could actually be students instead of foot soldiers.

The entire thing with Salem being revealed to the people and the fact she's immortal.

Yet despite these actions they are treated as heros. Which normally makes sense but in context.. makes them really shitty.

Rt can't write. That's just a fact. Im sorry some people don't wanna believe that but the fact is Rwby has failed as a series because rt can't write, and especially cant write women.

Ironwood at the start is a man with his heart in the right place but is hasty with his decisions. The actions he later makes that people would dub as out of character. Is when he when he finds out he's been lied too.

As for Jaune... Look I've made multiple discussions on why I like jaune as a character. But to sum it up. He's a inoffensive character. Most offensive thing about him was his crush on Weiss and him lying about transcripts. Thats about it.

Now I'm done trying to defend myself. If you got a complaint tell me! Whether in chat or by using anything else besides anonymous asks.

No obviously and I can't exactly blame you especially now since Rwby is extremely hard to watch now since rt decided to pull it from YouTube and well.. you can only watch it on Crunchyroll if it's even on there anymore.

I would recommend watching the series for yourself if your ever able to. Word of mouth is decent but it also has bias.

(saw your confession on rwby confess) i think the current problem with critics and fans is that *both* sides that go to war (NOT the critics and fans who are minding their business and only occasionally engage, shoutout to them, i love you all) either made their side their whole personality and/or they're actively trying to one-up/destroy the other. you can't post anything without them NOT reading, rather already crafting a response in their mind to counter your point, even if they didn't even read what your point is. it's a really uncomfortable situation because anything you do will put you in this or either side and you cannot get the whole fan experience. i've honestly been afraid of posting knightshade not because i dislike bees (I'm rather indifferent to them) but because i'm afraid of people thinking i hate bees and that it's cheating art and the whole nine yards (saw it happen to many blacksun, dragonslayer and knightshade art). i made ONE joke and people already painted me as a critic and a hater. ONE.

also, while some critics bring very valid points and give excellent food for thought, the majority that goes into forums and twitter usually repeat the same points that have been analysed to death. like, in reality there's always something new to criticize about rwby, but no, in forums it's always the same stuff. it feels like they're fishing for praise or engagement instead of actually posting their thoughts.

Ah my friend I see you've come with good intentions, welcome and I shall speak of my obsession care for Jaune.

To begin

1) I relate to jaune heavily due to me seeing a tinge (well more of a lot) of self hatred in him and i myself struggle with my own confidence.. also i like him because he wasn't ashamed of wearing a dress and he was a man of his word. I respect that.

2) I mean.. yang exists and she's my favorite character. I only speak of jaune because he is a lot easier to discuss.. somehow.

3) god I have tons, let's see there's martial arc's, Dragonslayer, knightshade, arculus rift, knightfall, and a lot of other jaune ships.. except jaunes harem

I unfortunately haven't seen a lot of gay jaune ships which.. god thats sad. You see a bunch of people shipping the female characters with other female characters but no MLM.. that just sucks.

Thoughts on Jaune x OC ships? After he kept his memories from the Ever After and stayed canonically 29-39, it ruined any ship with his peers for me, so I made an OC, but I'm a bit worried it's cringe...

I mean. He got de-aged but alright. (And it's not like most of the jaune ships became questionable considering most of the cast and side characters are consenting adults and it's not like they aren't allowed to date someone who's older since they, you know aren't children anymore.)

But I feel like answering the rest of your ask instead of getting on my soap box and glazing most jaune ships.

I'm rather neutral. They can be good but you also would want to make sure there's more to their character. But id say for your idea, go for it. Aslong as they aren't boring and a piece of cardboard (cough cough pyrrha cough cough) people aren't gonna have any real problems.. as long as they aren't fuckin stupid and understand an opinion.

So overall. Meh.

(i'm research anon) thank you for your answers! in fact, jaune is quite prominent in mlm content, and shipped with every guy available. it's just that it's easier to find fanfics than fanart. please support them by going through the m/m tag on AO3!

i'm doing research because the majority of male fans i know identify heavily with jaune while it's very rare to find male fans identifying with any other guy (with the exception of roman). that's super interesting to me because people identify easily with the girls, but not the guys. why is that? i wonder.

I think the reason why so many male fans identify with jaune is because he's easy to understand. He's not a blank slate unlike a good chunk of my fellow Rwde posters may say but that's just me giving my bias. (Opinions are opinions we can all be wrong except me I'm better than you all-)

That and.. well we don't have a lot of permanent male characters. Qrow is.. Qrow is Qrow he has people who relate to him but it's for a specific demographic.

Ren is kinda relatable. But he has a lot more specifics to him.

And Ozpin.. people can sympathize with him but no one can really relate to him. (Have you been alive for fucking centuries all because the god said "your wife is being a bitch so it's your fault as well, fix it"? No? Well no shit!)

As to answer your question.. look I don't watch frwby because I have a problem with the fact it's supposed to "fix" the show. The series is riddled with problems but it just feels kinda disingenuous to the show itself (and that means something because I criticize the shit out of this show).

But I can assure you this isn't trying to fix the show. If anything I'm just trying to stick close to cannon while also making certain changes I personally think work (or in the case of Adam, pure "fuck you I do what I want" energy.)

But to make it apparent, I criticize this show (or try to, considering I have as many braincells as times I've gotten laid.. aka zero) but the rewrite is more about showing how much i care about this show... And also to piss off literally every person in this fandom.

Rewrites don't have to be strictly "fixing" this show. Just showing respect and love for this show, while also trying to address this shows problems in a productive way. If you want to prove something. Put your money where your mouth is and DO IT.

as a fellow jaune enthusiast, the reason i like him (and im confident in saying for other peeps as well) is simply hes an underdog. its a classic character, everyone loves an underdog is the saying. while early beacons writing had some hiccups (like not knowing aura, thats only festering with time) hes simple and sweet, hard to go wrong with this type of character. He wants to do the right thing, wants to improve, hes nice, and a dork. Plus his falsifying of transcripts actually does a lot to inject some extra spice of moral flexibility to an otherwise classic archetype. not only that, but with him not being cut out for this, and still being determined enough to try and chase their dream, gives him a solid foundation to work on. extra bits that arent huge but still relevant, his large family not wanting him to go this path further adds fuel to his determination

and the fact that hes got 7 sisters is comedy gold. I live for the fics where hunters are super specialized badasses, but the tradeaway is they are kinda terrible at just about everything else. its a nice counterbalance to him not knowing how to hunter like the others who presumably have been training for years. Ergo, here comes Jaune to save the day, he may not be able to kill a grimm but damn that boy can work a grill, do taxes and dance

I consider this a very mild take, but a good one. Jaune is definitely an underdog, and people can find that to be a character they root for.

However ofcourse Rwby is about team Rwby and unfortunately people aren't exactly here for the white boy. But that doesn't change the fact people still root for him.
