Yeah that checks out
Herbivorous dinos x your birth month!
Lost Serenade
A pair of brachiosaurids sing songs forever lost in time.
Tried to paint everything before I added lines later. Very fun piece, I'll surely try this more often.
Long Neck
Brachio sunset~
Today's random portfolio artwork is "Wrong Place Wrong Time," which shows the moment of death for one of two Sauroposeidon. This was my first ever Zbrush sculpture illustration (2012).
Gertie propaganda;
Gertie is the first dinosaur in animated film!
In fact, she was in one of the earliest animated films, period!
She’s smart enough to do tricks, but don’t push her too hard or tease her, or she might toss you in a lake…
The film was originally used in Windor McCay’s vaudeville act, in which he would interact with Gertie in front of a live audience.
Gertie is literally one of the foundational films in both animation history and dinosaur media - vote for the O.G. (Original Gertie)! 🦕

The biggest boys of them all, the Giraffatitan!
LOOK what came in the mail today!!!! It's so COOOOL!!
Im doing some digital painting experiments so here have some giraffatitans
Also with the heard scene idk if its too accurate because i know sauropods don’t have singular babies like a elephant would but i feel theres a chance the baby sauropods join their mothers heard after hatching? Or maybe its like tortoises where the hatchlings just hide in the underbush untill they grow bigger
A needle felt amargasaurus!!
Im still getting used to sculpting/felting sauropods so its tails a little wack but i still love them! Also it was such a pain photographing this guy, hes bigger than the felt i was setting him against
Also ill be back to posting more regularly soon since its summer break from uni in a week (so soon im not used to these american summer holiday lengths lol)
A collection of various unreferenced dinosaurs.
These were some of my more popular Dinovembers from Instagram and the bird app.
A herd of dreadnoughtus taking a stroll.
I apologize for the lack of streams recently! Starting Ochem + Physics + a new job at the same time might not have been my finest plan. I'm finally getting some sense of a regular schedule, so hopefully, weekend nights will be free enough for me to stream again!
Paleopathology is such a cool field! One of my favorite examples is Dolly, a sauropod who had a respiratory infection severe enough to cause lesions on some of its vertebrae.
The pattern of the lesions is super interesting, and a really neat example of the similarities between sauropod and bird respiratory systems!
Do we have any records of fossil dinosaurs afflicted with illnesses? I guess fossils wouldn't really make it easy to preserve dinos that died from proto-flu, but what about stuff like cancers or malformations?
We do actually! Paleopathology is a whole field and there are tons of specimens that showcase signs of illnesses and injuries! It's really cool actually. there are so many examples that I can't even find the one I wanted to share as a prime one (it was an ornithopod that had a whole cancer study done, can't find it anywhere)
but infections were common and there's tons of studies about the signs of those in fossils as well!
