My thoughts about Mass Effect 1 with a first time playthrough. (no spoilers tho this thread will contain spoilers as it is about stuff i'm doing in my playthrough and the big important missions)

I don't really know how to do threads so imma just wing it. I've been enjoying this game so far. some stuff has been annoying like the stupid flying gun turret things. I feel like the game also doesn't balance very well and with stuff not fully told to the player is annoying. for instance. the Mission on Ferros, you need to find out what Seran is after, its a mind controlling plant, and you can try and beat the place without killing innocents. I went for this path and ran out of concussion grenades. turns out, you could melee them... NOBODY SAID THIS But I did look online for how I could do it cause if i was expected to subdue 16 people spread out people with 5 grenades, that's just bullshit. but I'm past that now and doing a bunch of side missions. will try to keep this updated as i play. Also I got a glitch where I broke my arms while dealing with a cult. that was also funny. quick update: I will also just quickly add i am using 2 mods i consider to be essential to improving this game and thats an infinite sprint mod and a screen shake remover mod. Because the sprint lasts about 3 seconds before you're winded and the screen shake is vomit inducing another quick update: I FUCKING HATE THE DIALOGUE OPTIONS DON'T FULLY GO WITH WITH WHATS PRESENTED! FOR EXAMPLE! Guy: i don't think my dad would like, he doesn't like spectres (spectres is a short version of elite task force kinda thing that operate outside the law) me: *clicks the "too bad" option* my character: damn, your dad sounds like a dick. me: THATS NOT WHAT I CLICKED!

My thoughts about Mass Effect 1 with a first time playthrough. (no spoilers tho this thread will contain spoilers as it is about stuff i'm doing in my playthrough and the big important missions) Pt2

So the controls for driving are still wired to me. just strange as it feels like a mix between halos warthog controls and every other simple car games controls. it keep messing up when driving around with it. combat is kinda simple at this point since i have the few abilities i like, the 2 companions i like, and the guns for each mission. and while the AI is pretty stupid, that doesn't stop me from sending them in a room of bad guys, closing the door behind them, waiting for them to die, revive them from outside the room, let them die again, and then panicking when the door opens and i die seconds later, 20% of the time it works 100% ,but other times i charge in with my team and try to coordinate attacks and movements with them. i also now have all of the characters. and after doing some research i found out something that's kinda icky personally speaking. there is an alien race called the Asari, they are the blue alien women. the Asari companion you get is 106, that is and i quote from the game "considered a child" and doing some research online, Asari live roughly to 1000 years old. they start puberty around 50-60 and are, technically speaking, a teen/young adult until they are 350 (give or take) which is when they are considered to be a full adult. thats all fine... except for the fact that she's a romanceable option, and just like that, the icky feel.

but yeah. i'm still greatly enjoying this game... also almost every human besides the player (unless they choose to be) is racist against any aliens. buts very nice to say "shut up, stop being a twat" and they will immediately shut up and start being cool with it, its nice.

My thoughts about Mass Effect 1 with a first time playthrough. (no spoilers tho this thread will contain spoilers as it is about stuff i'm doing in my playthrough and the big important missions) part 3

so at the time of writing this. I have finished Mass effect 1 and i bloody loved it. there were things that could have been done better such as the combat, it just got a bit samey same same once i got the best guns money could buy, and i finally worked out how to put stuff in the quick slots which was great, amped up combat a bit. As for the last missions of the game. i let an alien queen re-populate their race, i had reason to believe they wouldn't pose a problem if i did so. but during the missions of Noveria, i had to look stuff up alot becasue it wasn't clear at all. and the problem i had with the dialogue not lining up with what was written and what was spoken was even more annoying. (i also got 1 more mod just to give my vechile infinite boost due to how empty alot of the planet were) on Viremire (what i consider the second to last planet you should do) where i almost lost one of my favorite characters which thankfully didn't happen. and then i had to make a choice. did i let the alien racist die, or the ass kisser die. you think this would be an easy choice... but the only reason i struggled with this choice is because i didn't like either of them and i didn't know which option would result in the death of the one i didn't like. ended up making the choice i wanted (of the racist dying) and then it was time for the final battle. the final battle was.... not that great... it was more annoying then anything because of 1 of my 3 powers worked, he kept shooting rockets, and was jsut overall, not a section i liked. getting to the boss fight was really damn cool. and then the final boss fight was also just kinda bleh. i sat in one spot and just unloaded into him whenever he stopped moving. but overall, i loved the game and i'm very excited for Mass effect 2

also, you think people would have different ways of being hacked. but everyone uses the same system. haha

also a funny glitch where 2 of my guys just lost all their color and shaders. haha this was just from a glitch, not a mod.

My thoughts about Mass Effect 2 with a first time playthrough. (no spoilers tho this thread will contain spoilers as it is about stuff i'm doing in my playthrough and the big important missions)

So this one is already off to a rocky start. as i'm using mods to better enhance my experiance, just trying to get a unofficial bug patch fix was already a challenge, I'm downloading everything from Nexus athe Unofficial community patch is 4 gbs big, it was a very slow download. every time i tried to download with the mod manager, it just crashed and broke at 2 gb's. too bad i couldn't just download 1 half and then the other half. thats not how mods work. following that, just getting used to how the game handles was also strange, i will admit i'm using an omni-key seperator mod which makes it so that instead of the space bar doing multiple actions, i can set each action its own key. onto the actual game, the story set up is nicely and we get a look into how things are different. (MAJOR SPOILERS COMING UP NOW) you die... and then you are brought back to life over 2 years of surgery by Cerberus. an organization from he first game that showed up for one mission and then fucked off. (END OF MAJOR SPOILER HERE) the game has 2 new hacking mini games which is a breath of fresh air as 1 is a memory game(i think this becomes easier the more you fail at it so there's no punishment for failing, which is alright) and the other is a match the image kinda game (however, the way its explained is extremely bad) there are also now some quicktime events to do depending on if you're a paragon (goodie) or a Renagade (baddie) and.... its never clear what they are going to do so probably best to get a quicksave before talking to anyone just in case. combat feels a bit more sluggish then the first game and kinda hard to see things. This game is alot more action heavy then the first one. i'm not exactly complaining about that but i did really like the first games handling of the RPG elements it had. i am still at the start of the game so i'll try and let ya know how that all goes tho.

Also i am using 8 mods at this time, the community patch (becasue it fixes alot of bugs and restores things, and corrects lighting in certain scenes), infinite sprint (because walking is too slow), screen shake remover (not as bad as ME1 but still bad enough), easy resource gathering (because i don't wanna have to grind all the shit), and weapon and armor stats (becasue thats easier then trying to work out things with words (or maybe they were actually there and i just missed it)) and a few others just to make my time a bit better. all in all, I'm very excited for this game, if only my wisdom teeth pain was gone so i could actually fucking enjoy the game now.

My thoughts about Mass Effect 2 with a first time playthrough. (no spoilers tho this thread will contain spoilers as it is about stuff i'm doing in my playthrough and the big important missions) pt 2

So, in playing this, i have made multiple discoveries. 1. a gameplay feature is that is an enemies has shields, they are immune to biotic abilites, which i would really like because it forces me to do more then spam the same abilites and have a varied team... notice how i said would like it? the reason i don't completely like this is because the friendly ai is dumb.... not dumb as in "ooo its a bit dodgey" more dumb in the sense of, they will get stuck behind doors, unable to open them for themselves, or just stand in the way and not actually shoot. but I'm taking the good with the bad. 2. there are autistic people in this game, yaaaaay! this actually makes me pretty happy as i am autistic myself, so its nice to see a small bit of representation, just like Sandal from Dragon Age with his loving father. Also I do not like being unable to tell what is DLC and what isn't without just looking it up. on the plus side, it doesn't seem to matter what order i play the missions and DLC in. everywhere I've looked more or less says "do it however you want, its kinda its own disconnected story" which sucks, but makes sense Something i forgot to mention in the first part of this thing is that the way you look actually kinda impacts your character, which is fine. but if i want my face showing fully, i lose out on having a health or damage bonus. which kinda sucks but is fair. since the bonuses are very small. like 5% 3% 10% which is fine. buts its also just annoying. but an upside over that is the team you get. in ME1, all the characters were just kinda the same. they don't trust other species that much, they fucking get over it, yadda yadda yadda, we're all hero's. all of them were kinda the same good buy... Except Wrex, i liked Wrex. in this second one. everyone is vastly different. you have people that are loyal to a fault, people are just there because money, and people that want answers. and i love it. feels more alive strangely So... i went to the citadel finally (big alien and human hub world thing) and due to my actions in the first game which i won't get into as i already have spoiled a few things. the Citadel has covered up about the major threat from the first game and cleaned it from the history... okay, fair, that happens. but in this Citadel i can buy a model ship of the big bad that attacked in the first game... through a gift shop... i know its just a small collectible but still, if it was off the citadel, that would have made sense. also, one of the people i picked up in my crew of this game, called Jack... is a very well known criminal... and hopefully my Shepard's romantic partner. i also like bringing them with me on alot of shooty missions and missions without shooty things. its also kinda funny when i walk through a well populated area and people go "Shepard? the commander Shepard?... i thought she was dead? Its a ghost from the past" or something while Jack is on the side just "sup" XD also the mod count is now like 11-12... just to make things like romance more clear, and also unlocking every paragon (goodie) and Renegade (meanie) option. because while I'm nice to most npc's, there are some you just need to tell to fuck off, but due to how the game is, you can't do that. so i modded it so that you can. also, at this point, i'm loving how the 2 companions can work with me, something that happens alot and feels so cool every time is i'll use shockwave to send someone up to knock them down and then someone on my team will snipe them out the air. and sometimes Jack hits the shockwave and i snipe them. just soo god damn cool!

My thoughts and Opinions on Mass effect 3 first playthrough. (No spoilers please, but this will contain spoilers as it is my experiance)

So. first of all, i know its been a while. but I've been busy with life guff annoyingly. i did start this game after finishing ME2, however... i was influenced a bit to not like this game by nerdcubed as i heard he didn't like this game. which is fair. that's his opinion. so that didn't help. When I played it, i quickly understood why he didn't like it and how all the joy of it was sucked away (and also all the combat was completely trivial) so i took a long ass break from the game. tried it again. this time, i saw that there were difficulty options. Which I'm going to blame the game for never prompting this. i know there are games that don't prompt you at all about difficulty but 95% of games i play do prompt this. so i didn't look for it in the first place. after finally being granted full freedom, i quickly got a mod to just have unlimited fuel because I like that. i do love the new feature of you can only scan a few times before the reapers come for ya. its not hard to outrun them, but its given me a few clench moments of running away. Something the game added which i like and dislike is the weapon weight system. now how it works is that you can only carry a certain weight of items with you through missions. the more weight you have means the less you can use your powers and for a Vanguard, that sucks. but i get why this was done as it adds more strategic thinking and planning involved. but i don't like the weight of some weapons. like, personally, i like running with only 3 weapons. A pistol, and AR, and a Sniper. but snipers are far too heavy to be worth it. so i kinda breeze through at close to mid range. i would be much happier with full choice. i would be fine countering this with what i stated before. but the problem there is that its never clear what kinda environment or enemies I'm facing so i can't properly plan ahead. and i can always rely on my AI teammates either. a small feature i do very much like is that while walking around on the citadel. you can find some people arguing about how best to help the war effort or who is more in the wrong but listening in on the conversation and choosing to interject. for example, you can find this couple arguing about how to best help the war. 1 is saying that they should join the military and take up arms, talking about their friends getting out their weapons that were mainly jsut for show. the other is unsure about the idea. I chose to support the unsure one and Shepard suggested that they could volunteer at medical areas to help there. and they were both down for that. it rewards the player with a small boost in numbers too. its a little thing but i very much like that. also, after trying to dodge DLC spoilers and trying to work out what order I'm supposed to do everything in. i now have all but the citadel dlc spoiled for me (except the ending) so if you're looking to do them and play this game. just do it any order as the dlc was built to be played mid campaign it seems. but the DLC missions are Eden Prime, Dr. Bryson's lab on the citadel, and some other place i haven't unlocked but i know its at the citadel. too.

My thoughts and Opinions on Mass effect 3 first playthrough. (No spoilers please, but this will contain spoilers as it is my experiance) pt2

Okay. so. i got 2 new mods at this time, one to make the normandy fly much faster when going around in space which is good and bad. its good becasue traveling is much faster, and dodging reapers is easier. but this leads into the bad as it makes reapers too easy to dodge to the point where its just kinda trivial but removing the mod is out the question as its glacially slow to move around. anyway, onto the game. after being given full freedom, i wwent to eden prime as it was a dlc mission and it was reccomended to do very early and i'm glad i did as i got a cool dlc companion. following that, i went to Pavalen to help the Turians and met up with the man, the myth, the legend, Garrus. i was so happy to see him once again and kicking ass like he always does. we also saved the leader of the turians who requested a meeting with the Krogen. my assistant found fake transmissions and i got to meet up with Jack again which was great (for those that don't know, i romanced Jack in ME2) and it was great to see what she became. From there, i went back to the Citadel for a bunch of side content but got 3 big mercenary groups on my side of the war. from there, i went to go pick up the Krogen leader and saw it was none other then my main man fucking Wrex. in exchange for helping the Turians, Wrex wanted the genophage to end. i was all for it, got the Salarian to shut up and accept the terms and conditions. then had to save the only surviving Krogen female that was immune to the genophage from Cerberus. from there, Wrex asked me to go check in with one of his squads where upon we saw the second best Krogen ever, Grunt, who rose to the ranks of having his own platoon. I was asked to help him deal with Rachni. in the first game, i chose to help the Rachni instead of killing them. by the end of the mission, we saw the the Rachni had been over taken by the Reapers and i was given a choice. sacrifice the krogan for the queen or leave the queen to die but save the krogan. this was a difficult choice for me. but a choice had to be made. i saved the krogan. that was a hard choice but felt like the right one.

On Belok's animals relationships.

It is important to remember that we consider every living being to be born from the same earth we are, and to be revived as another living being when their time comes.

Therefore, our view of the world as a whole, is that of a permanent living cycle, where everyone and everything is due to become one and the other.

We treat the animals as we treat everyone, sentient or not. At the difference that if one is not born belok, we do not ask of them the same rules that we do to ourselves. Therefore, they will not receive the same punishments, if any.

In regards to the animals that live at our sides, we have a few.

Horses, for labour, mobility, general farm work mostly.

Cats, for their help with monitoring our storage as to not let the mouse and such eat all our food.

Sheep, for their wool.

Dogs, to help the shepherds, and guard.

The animals that we keep with us are well fed and cared for by the whole community. We make sure they are healthy, and that their work is not too much on them.

We value them as we value one another, despite their lesser sentience in this lifetime.

We usually do not keep other animals though, mostly to limit our need for ressources, but also because we do not have the need for what they could provide.

It is not uncommon however that younger Beloks ask to keep a wounded animal at our sides, a request that we usually will grant, if the conditions are good.

Some communities prefer cows over horses, but I think it's more due to the animals available.

I personally think horses are better in pretty much every regard, especially knowing that we do not take the cow's milk. Though I could see the attract for farmers that would sell that milk.
