Hi! If you're still looking to write something on this blog, I want to request an X reader fic. I have so many request ideas but right now I'll request this one for tonight. I wanna know how Macaque would react and would treat the reader if they had shadow magic/umbrakinesis like him (but uses it in a way that's similar to Raven and Pitch Black from ROTG)

I'm not sure what version of Raven you mean, but I'm only familiar with the Titans series version of her. So, if that's okay, I'll combine both hers and Pitch Black's.

I honestly think that Macaque would be confused at first with what type of abilities you have. If you're on MK and the team's side his only focus is finding a way to weaken them. If you aren't he'd be interested to see if you'd be able to defeat Monkey King, wanting you on his side.

When he notices your abilities are shadow related and not illusions or creature summoning, his interest would be fully peaked. Now actively trying to get you on his side.

After a while of this pushing he realises that you don't have full control of your powers, they have a mind of their own represented through the creatures you made. The creatures in question resemble normal animals, the main difference being the black dust-looking substance they were made from.

If you told him about the voices you experience, a sort of force that made you lose control when you expressed too much emotion, Macaque would wonder if this was a curse, something you trained and lost control over, or if this was what you dealt with from birth.

The animals were typically friendly and under your control, but whenever in training when he pushed you a little too far, the creatures you created as an escape became something you wanted to escape from. Violent and trying to kill everything in it's path.

He's tried his best to put up the comforting mentor act when they become too much, to help you overcome this. But whatever those things are made from, whatever the other you is made from inside of that mirror, you can't separate from it.

Macaque seems to be a calming prescene to the things you made, he suspected it was the shadow powers he held and the fact he was a demon. This idea only grows after you tell him of your origins, being the child of not only A demon but THE demon.

Macaque would usually make shadow clones to watch over your creations, making sure they weren't causing any unnecessary harm that would ruin his plans. And just because it's a pain to clean everything up.

Honestly, Macaque would grow to enjoy the fact another person has some type of shadow magic like him, it creates a sense of relatability. Even if he is using you at first.

Your powers would come into play when he attempted to sympathise with you, trying to paint a narrative that his abilities worked like yours. They were their own being and used him. And it probably worked, Macaque's sob story becoming a method of making you feel more passionate during training. If you felt bad for him, you'd be more willing to 'help' him overcome his goals to 'improve' his control over the shadow.

No matter your age, given the fact you're a human, you'll always be younger than him. If you're a child or teenager, he won't go too far with his training, he may be a demon but he's not a monster.

Due to the fact you seem to genuinely be afraid and have episodes because of your powers, after a while of the manipulation and lies, Macaque begins to feel guilt. He begins to care for you.

Macaque views the strange voices you hear, the ones that control you and force you do bad things, the monsters in the mirrors, the dark shadow of yourself that appears every time you get angry, as the voices he hears. He doesn't have some strange shadow creature from the underworld inside of him, but it can feel that way sometimes.

His fake sympathy turns to real sympathy, and depending on how you treat him, Macaque would genuinely form a connection, you might to. If you do, he'd convince you to make both of your attempts to take revenge on Monkey King as a full time 'job' of sorts.

You both become a mentor and apprentice type deal, he helps you calm down and have a control over your emotions, and in return, you're the friend he lost so long ago.

Macaque trains with you really often, but the second he feels you straining too hard or he senses discomfort, he stops. Both not wanting you to lose control and not wanting you to dislike him. It's the first time in years he's felt somebody understands him, losing you would mean losing everything.

Overall, I imagine it'd be a hot mess at first, but with conversations and time, it could be a great platonic or romantic relationship!

Social interactions were never really your forte.

Macaque would tease you sometimes about your shyness but he never pushed you outside your comfort zone.

Your days were mostly filled with staying in at your home or the dojo and talking to Macaque when he wasn't busy.

Despite your shyness, you were always affectionate and soft with him.

Always feeling better after a few sweets he would perk back up into his normal jerk self.

Hours passed before he woke up very confused as to where he was and why he was covered in bandages.

“You're welcome.”

Sitting on the chair next to the couch he was laying on not looking up from the book in your hands.

“Because unlike you I care when someone is hurting.”

Once again, you were in the same situation that had happened yesterday. And the day before. Honestly, it was becoming more of a nuisance as time passed. You would go to school as you always did, get your work done, but the thing that bothered you wasn’t the amount of pages that your teacher wanted you to read—it was a group of girls who always seemed to catch you off guard at lunch or when everyone was leaving for the day.

Such was life for you right now.

You felt confident in the outfit you wore that day. You were happy with your identity as a girl, but boyish clothes were just more comfortable in general sometimes. Besides, who would pass up real pockets on their pants? 

But of course, these girls were relentless. They spread rumors about you, rumors that stung when they eventually found their way back to your ears. 

Little did you know, they had reached another set of ears as well.

“Where are you going, y/n? Off to be a little crybaby?” One of the bullies sneered as she led the group. The bell had rung, it was just a matter of getting off of school grounds and heading over to Macaque’s dojo to relax and maybe get his help with homework. “Leave me alone. I didn’t even do anything!” You called over your shoulder. They laughed. You held on tighter to your backpack’s straps. 

“Look how pathetic she is! Maybe she should man up, since she’s so insistent on being a boy!”

“Shut up! Go away!” You stopped and turned on your heel to shout at them. They were laughing again. You felt hopeless against them. 

But suddenly, they stopped, gasping and looking behind you. 

“Do we have a problem?” Macaque’s voice signaled your perfect way out. 

“Uh, no, we were just—“

“Leaving. Leaving is the word you’re looking for. Now get out of here, before I send you idiots to the shadow realm.” He interrupted her, and with a wave of his hand, the group took off running the other way. You sighed in relief.

“Thanks, Mac.” You turned toward him. He ruffled your hair.

“You alright? They didn’t hurt you, did they?” 

“No, I’m fine.”

“Good. Remember, dress how you want, act how you want. Above all else, take down your enemies.” He advised, putting a hand on your shoulder and beginning to walk with you the rest of the way to his dojo.

“Hang on, I can’t just beat them up, I’ll get expelled!” 

“Oh, right. Well, since I’m not a student, just call on me, and I’ll take care of ‘em.” 

“Macaque!”

“Kidding, kidding. C’mon, I bought some noodles from Pigsy’s that we can eat.”

Tonight was your night. You were dressed to the nines, with your hair and makeup done and by the gods, you were on a mission. Tonight was karaoke night with the gang, which included Sandy, MK, Mei, and as extra supervision, Macaque.

You’d had your eyes on the dark haired monkey ever since he started showing up on a consistent basis. You two had some common interests and he admired your spunk, opting to playfully flirt with you often. You rarely flirted back efficiently, however his reaction was always a laugh or tripping, so you honestly had no idea if he understood that you were being genuine.

So your goal was to pick your favorite love song and sing it just for him, and hope that those six ears would actually listen rather than just hear.

You and the others entered the place and found Sandy and Macaque, who had gone in to reserve your spot. First, you all ordered some stuff to eat and drink, before you started picking out the songs you’d be singing. Macaque insisted he’d just be on the sidelines tonight, since he’d already been using his voice doing his shadow plays earlier in the day. So MK and Mei went first, and you all had a good time as they sang their hearts out. Sandy and MK did a joke entry of “I’ll Make A Man Out of You”, which they did great with. Then it was your turn.

To say you were nervous going up to the microphone was an understatement. But the music began and you gulped as you cast your gaze at the screen for now.

You finished with a smile on your face, feeling proud of yourself as you put the microphone back and took a little bow. Your friends all applauded you, save for Macaque, who was still wide eyed and staring ahead. Your confidence faltered…did he not like it? Oh gods, what if he didn’t like you that way?

You took your seat a little further away from him and kept to yourself, even though the others complimented you on your singing abilities.

At the end of the night, you told your friends you’d just walk home. They were hesitant, but said that you should text the group chat once you got home safely. When you agreed, you left, and let yourself go. How could you have tried confessing your feelings like that? You should’ve just been direct with him, he would have understood better.

You were so distracted that you didn’t notice your shadow morphing and moving out of tune with your movements. It waited for when you stopped at a corner to check your directions before Macaque popped out.

“Hey there. Thought you might want some company.” He tapped your shoulder, making you jump.

“Don’t scare me like that! What if I tried to hit you?” You caught your breath. He laughed.

“I’m sure it’d be a nice effort. But you wouldn’t hit little old me, would you?”

You rolled your eyes at him and kept walking, but slower. Your heart was racing—he went out of his way to walk with you?

“That was quite a show you put on back there, huh? I didn’t know you could sing that well.” He complimented. You blushed.

“Thanks. I did my best to impress.”

“It paid off, if you ask me,” he took one of your hands gently with his own, and you felt how cold his hands were compared to yours. “I can always appreciate some good showmanship. Especially from a pretty sight like you.”

“Takes a good showman to know one, huh?” You winked at him and were absolutely delighted in the way he almost tripped over his own feet.

“What else I took notice of,” he cleared his throat to change the subject. “Was the song you chose.”

You gave a hum in response, prompting him to continue.

“Listen. I was definitely apprehensive around you at first. But since we’ve gotten to know each other, I’ve been…happier. More than how I’ve felt the past few years.”

You matched his walking pace and let him keep talking. It seemed that he had a tangled ball of string in his head that he was trying to work out with each sentence, and you could faintly see the other end of it.

“It’s been hard for you to trust anyone. I understand that.” You stopped at a corner, waiting for the crosswalk sign to change.

“Right, exactly. You get me. But now, I trust you. I’d fight for you, I’d write for you. At the end of the day, I know that if you asked me to do it, I would give everything up for you.”

“Are you sure this walk home isn’t to sober you up?” You joked. You two continued on, merely a block away from your home by now. He kept running his hands through his hair.

“I really like you, okay?! I’m usually really good at words, you know that, but for some reason when I look at you, it's just—“ he put his hands over his face as you two came to a halt. He took hold of your hands, and it was a blessing and a curse to him that he found himself falling apart over you as a person. You, who took the time out of your own schedule to get to know him and in turn share things about yourself.

“I want to be with you. I love you, y/n, and I hope you can forgive at least some of my stupidity for not seeing the signs sooner.”

You couldn’t help it, but maybe it was the look in his eyes like he was a stray cat in need of a flea bath and plenty of food, that made you want to hold his face in your hands. He instantly shut up and tensed.

“I love you too, Mac. And for your sake, I’ll let some of your stupidity slide.”

Could I request macaque, Mk, and wukong( separate) x chubby nonbinary reader. Like the reader has issues with eating infront of people. They just feel like they need to eat less than everyone else and should hold back on the food. And it progresses where they don't eat out with anyone and isolate themselves to avoid what they deem as judgement.

MK, Wukong, and Macaque x GN!Chubby!Reader Romantic Headcanons

!! WARNING! HEAVY CONTENT AHEAD! MENTIONS OF EATING DISORDERS/DISCOMFORT! IF YOU ARE NOT IN A GOOD STATE OF MIND PLEASE MOVE ALONG TO A DIFFERENT POST! THANK YOU FOR BEING RESPONSIBLE ONLINE :) !!

MK- concerned lad :( I hc that his favorite thing to do when hanging out with people he cares about is having some good food for good company. So when you turn the noodles down, when you don’t even partake in your favorite snacks that he bought for you–he feels bad and worries a lot. However he hates the idea of pushing your boundaries so it probably takes him a while to even ask about it. He tells you that while he can’t force you to eat anything he is worried about your health. He loves you the way you are, he would hate to see you destroy yourself by not eating. In an effort to help he offers to maybe hang out just in his apartment more often so you don’t feel so watched and he will definitely turn around if it makes you feel better. He also amps up his complimenting game and focuses on you as a person rather than just your physical qualities. 

Macaque - he’s upset, not at you, but at the reality that he can’t do more to help you. He loves you and how sweet you are to him, how could you treat yourself badly? He shows you some professional resources like therapy, since he knows that he himself isn’t exactly cut out to solve this problem. He also makes an effort to indulge you in the foods you really like to hopefully encourage you to partake, even if it means he has to face away from you or that you two end up eating in his dojo rather than a restaurant. He always reassures you that he thinks you’re perfect and that he would never judge you for something like this. Macaque will also become more physically clingy so be prepared for that. He may also write some poetry for you ;)

Wukong - feels terrible!! That’s his s/o!!! And he has to help!! Obviously, he gives you some time to see if you’ll come to him about the issue on your own. However if you don’t he’s inclined as your boyfriend to express his concerns for you and ask what steps you’d like to take and which steps you want him there for. He’ll do his best to make you feel comfortable with food and eating, especially around other people. May start off small like eating in his hut and gradually expand to a place like Pigsy’s–either way he will not throw you into the deep end. He gives you a lot of encouragement, even for “small” steps. To him, seeing you make any progress at all is a victory and he makes sure you know that regardless of how you look, he’s proud of you and he loves you unconditionally.

How about a one shot (or at least headcanon if that's not possible) with Sun wukong (Macaque too if you want) with a s/o who's a sassy nerd who could pick a fight (physical or verbal) with God if you get on their nerves and fiercely protective of loved ones...even if they might not win.

S/o could've said something like this at some point "No, I don't care how powerful or immortal they are, either you talk to your friend or I talk to them. No one steals my mooncakes."

Optional but s/o could have a past of being bullied for some angst but that's your choice.

Probably freaking out laughing when he sees you giving attitude to whoever you feel like

every once in a while he might play into it specifically to see how far you'll go

he'll back you up in some arguments but sometimes he's the one trying to hold you back

that being said, who's gonna hold you back when he's just eaten some of the mooncakes you specifically told him not to eat??

he may be immortal a million times over but he is a dead man walking

there's just so much danger in your eyes when you open up the box to see it empty, he teleports away as fast as he can while he still has his limbs attached

he gets you like a bunch more just in case :D

Macaque

he never ever fails to match your energy

with the nonexistent self-preservation he has, he'll be right there with you if you decide to pick a fight with god(or whatever celestial being or demon you happen to want to argue with)

he likes to push your buttons sometimes since he thinks it keeps things interesting

this can lead to him disappearing into the shadows before you can beat his ass

on that fateful day you were out getting some snacks for your weekly movie night you had with him and he was at the house already

he was hungry, okay?? too hungry to read the little sticky note on top of the mooncakes that CLEARLY stated "Y/N'S MOONCAKES. DO NOT TOUCH UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES"

as soon as he realized his mistake he rushed out to get you more, but you got home before he did

How about a prompt (one shot or head canon, your choice) for wukong and Macaque with a S/O (platonic) who is an introverted pacifist (most of the time) but if provoked can show a display of power rivaling the monkey king.

SWK and Macaque x Introverted but scary!GN!reader (Platonic Headcanons!)

SWK - At first he's like "aw sweet person who likes hanging out with me :)" and he's absolutely adoring how nice you are. He's convinced you can do no wrong! But then you get provoked and it's a whole different story. He sees your abilities and he can't help but be a bit intimidated. He hesitates to ask you about it. If you talk to him about it first, he'll be more calm and probably more openly curious. But if he has to come to you, he'll be a little more cautious. He doesn't want another Macaque situation in any capacity, so he treats you as well as he's able to....he still thinks you're fun to be around though!

Macaque - he likes hanging out with you! You just get it. He's introverted too, but even on days where he's a little low on energy he's happy to make some time for you. He likes enjoying some quiet time with you, reading or listening to music. He's generally much nicer to you than others since he feels you two understand each other. When he has an opportunity to see what you're like when provoked, he can't help being a little fearful. After all he thought you were relatively harmless. This new side is a bit intriguing to him, but he knows now to keep himself in your good graces.

➨ Let's be real here. Macaque has never been in a relationship before. Probably a fling or two with someone in the past, but didn't have enough experience to understand deep connection romantically.

➨ So he's just as new and awkward as you are. But he doesn't want you to know that. He'd hide his awkwardness and nervousness behind his charismatic charm in the beginning of your relationship.

➨ I feel like Macaque would most likely have tons of boundaries for you to respect until he allows it to be surpassed. Since you know, his previous strongest relationship ended so badly, he doesn't want to talk about how bad it affected him.

➨ So go soft on him. He's trying his best to be there for you, but he does want to be respected for his privacy. Wait until he's ready.

➨ I headcanon that Macaque is more touch starved than Wukong. Don't get me wrong, Wukong is touch starved for sure, but I believe he's been surrounded by adoring fans as they see him as the ‘hero’, and no one really pays attention to Macaque.

➨ Macaque is definitely an introvert, but does consider taking you out for dates somewhere in Megapolis or somewhere isolated for the both of you to not get interrupted. I think he preferably wants to either cuddle or Netflix and chill at his dojo or your place.

➨ I'd assume as you and Macaque got to hang out with each other and understand your likes and dislikes, he would be able to do things to make you blush, smile or laugh; whether it's a little joke or a thoughtful gift.

➨ Macaque loves being intimate with you. Like, once he gets comfortable being physical, he'd start cuddling or pulling you close by the waist as he gently holds you.

➨ He won't say it out loud, but he will let you know that he adores you when you give him the same kind of treatment he does for you. Like if you were to seek the security of his arms as you casually on the couch, cuddling. Just you know that he internally cherishes that moment forever. Or if you shower him with kisses, Macaque will absolutely melt from the affection.

➨ I wouldn't say that he is extremely possessive over you (as much as most people seem to headcanon) I'd believe he entrusts you with defending yourself, but whenever things get too serious, then he steps in and protects you.

These were the default pet names in the beginning before he got creative, like referring to you as cutie, babycakes, sugar, doll, and his personal favourite: ✨sugarplum✨ (I'm bad with coming up with nicknames)

➨ Judging from his liking to shadow plays and performing in general, I'd headcanon that he observes the romantic aspects to the play, and tries testing them on you to see which one you would like or not.

➨ While observing these plays, he developed his romantic language as he learned new compliments and picked up lines to use on you. But don't test him. If you try to be snarky about your flirting skills, he will immediately turn the tables and it will end up you losing and as red as a tomato.

➨ On the topic of Macaque being a theatre fanatic, BIG fan of music, especially musicals and classical music.
