Drinker
Euthrix potatoria
The drinker moth is of the family Lasiocampidae. It was described and named in 1758 by Carl Linneaus. Linneaus chose the species name potatoria as it means ‘drinker-like.’ Dutch entomologist Johannes Goedaert had previously called the moth dronckaerdt, meaning ‘drunkard,’ “because it is very much inclined to drinking” or because this moth repeatedly puts its head into water. The common name ‘drinker’ comes from the same reason.
Description This moth is distinguishable from other eggar moths by a diagonal line crossing the forewing and two white spots also on the forewing. Males are usually reddish or orangish-brown with yellow patches. Males in East Anglia are often yellowish. Females can be yellow, a pale buff, whitish, or a darker reddish-brown than the males. Male and females also differ in size and antennae shape: females are slight larger than males, and males have fluffier antennae.
Wingspan Range of Fully Grown Drinker: 45–65 mm (≈1.77 - 2.56 in)
Diet and Habitat The caterpillars of this species feed on grasses and reeds in genuses such as Alopecurus, Deschampsia, Dactylis, Elytrigia, Carex, Luzula, and other Gramineae. A few examples are Cat grass (Dactylis glomeratus), Common Reed (Phragmites australis), Reed Canary-grass (Phalaris arundinacea), and Wood Small-reed (Calamagrostis epigejos).
In the spring, they feed mainly at night and can be found resting on low vegetation during the day. The larva also supposedly drink morning dew because it had been observed to repeatedly put its head in water.
This moth can be found in Europe. It is common throughout England and Ireland but tends to favor western Scotland over eastern Scotland. It prefers habitats of marshy places such as fens, riversides, tall and damp grassland, marshes, damp open woodland, scrub, and ditches. However this species does sometimes live in drier habitats such as grassy terrain and urban gardens.
Mating Adults can been seen between July and August and presumably mate during this time. There is only one generation per year. Eggs are laid mainly on the stems of grasses or reeds in small clusters.
Predators Adult moths fly at night and are presumably preyed on by nocturnal predators such as bats.
Fun Fact Both sexes of the drinker moth are attracted to light, but males are especially susceptible.

I have been spending these last few weeks training to compete in the largest fighting game tournament in the world, of course for BlazBlue. Turn out for the game is surprisingly small this year but that means no major players so my chances of winning actually aren't zero. Who would've thought?

Hey everyone! Sorry I haven’t been posting very much original content recently. My life is a chaotic mess right now and I’ve been really struggling. I promise I’m trying my best, and I’ll try to post when I can. Another reason I’ve not been posting as much is because of my severe writer’s block. I have no idea what to write at this point TwT I’d really appreciate if you guys sent in requests for headcanons, tierlists, or anything else, really. It would seriously help me with this, and would give me ideas for what else to write. Also, please note that I plan to start posting more than just Obey Me! I also plan to start with Undertale and MHA stuff, because I’ve recently gotten into the fandoms. So feel free to request anything from those fandoms, too! (I’m also designing my own Undertale AU, so you can ask about that if you want!)

Born in a country that snowing wasn’t a frequent event, you found yourself staring out the huge windows of the dorm, wet cloth in your hands fully forgotten, dusting not really occupying your mind right now. Suddenly someone shakes you from behind and you yelp, diving to free yourself of the firm hold on your shoulders. “Why would you even think to do that” you whisper-yelled to Jungkook irritated and you flicked the cloth against his forearm for emphasis. “I wanted to inform you that me and the guys are heading out to play with the snow, but you were too enchanted with your dusting to notice me”. Before you had the chance to answer he interrupted you again. “Wanna join us?”.
Well, now that was not the case. Back in your country people lost property and lives from snow, so saying you were a little weary of it was an understatement. You really wanted to join your friends and make some white winter memories with your boyfriend-which you haven’t seen since this morning that you handed him his coffee- and a thought clicked. “I’ll pass. Tell Hobi to bring me coffee on his way back”. You really wanted to give snow a chance and you battled a lot with yourself until you decided to head out and find them. You moved hurriedly to your boyfriend’s closet and opened the small drawer you know he uses to store binnies, scarfs and gloves for days like this, only to find nothing. “What the- you murmured to yourself- how many layers of clothes did Hobi wear?
You chose a patted coat of his, long enough to rest on your ankles and stormed out in search of your boyfriend and his friends. Suddenly something pretty hard and a ton cold landed straight on your nose. You froze in place (heheh sorry, bad pun) and then proceeded to sneeze with half dozen of laughs echoing around you. Namjoon was the one closer to you and so was the receiver of your tantrum, in the form of pouts, stomping foots and lots of snow. “Yo, do not blame me, your boyfriend did it” “Oh come on, I could not do it, my hands are full”. You approached Hobi, and given your eyesight was not the best, assumed that he was holding your steaming coffee. You were wrong. “JUNG HOSEOK WHY ON EARTH WOULD I WANT AN ICED AMERICANO MID-JANUARY?”
