after getting my heart shredded by chloe gong, here are my reasons why roma and juliette could be alive & why they couldn’t be. hear me out <3 

alive

- the two wanted a world of peace where bloodshed was not tearing apart everything. maybe they left after surviving miraculously and separated themselves from reminders of the white terror, memories being too painful.

- juliette and roma are gangster masterminds. no matter how sudden the explosion was, juliette could have had a plan and could have saved the two or vice versa.

- they survived the explosion. option 1. their ancestors saved them. option 2. a miracle occurred. after, A. stolen transportation and moved to the countryside the two visited or any countryside. B. ran away then bribed people to leave the city/country. C. stolen transportation/bribed people and hide out in shanghai, living with different identities/having different identities as they were too scarred. and, the reasons of the two not reaching out one. they were happy enough in each other’s presence. two. they did not want more painful memories resurfaced. three. one of the two died and the other killed the self or was too heartbroken to care anymore.

- if the two survived yet remained alive, they didn’t want to reveal themselves as alive as it could have their “deaths” be in vain (context. their deaths and star crossed lover story was a reminder of how useless the blood feud was and was a constant reminder of the citizens of shanghai why peace should occur. whenever blood appeared, their story was whispered and helped the slow end of the bloodshed).

dead

- would roma really willingly never see his sister, his cousin, and his best friend ever again? (unless from observations far away but that is highly unlikely seeing as the world is big and information is limited). vice versa to juliette.

- as “evidence” points, they were in the heat of the explosion. it’s impossible they survived without interference or a miracle

conclusion

honestly besides the first point, without imagination and hope, it is easy to believe that the two died. however, as it was supposed to be an open ended ending for our own speculations, i just know in my heart something happened in the midst of the explosion. their story is too full of passion and love and survival and grit to end like that, however heroic and romantical it is.

Saturday, May 28, 2022 "Y/n L/n and Lee Haechan were both found dead at the bottom of the Hollywood sign. It appears that they jumped but only they will know the true story. We'll be covering more on this during the nine o'clock news. Back to you Porter." It was a dark and rainy Sunday afternoon, two of the music industry’s biggest celebrities were found dead, apparently by suicide, neither left a note or anything saying why they did it. There are rumors why they did it, of course but the world will be left without an explanation. Friday, May 27, 2022 "Haechan-Haechan, you're so handsome" Y/n said slowly as the blunt hung loosely from her lips. "Thank you, Y/n, I love you so much, you know that right?" The young man turned to the girl on the other side of the picnic blanket. "Of course, I do" a lazy smile adored the beautiful girl's face as she traced the man's jaw. Haechan was looking at Y/n as she was looking up at the stars. "It's a beautiful night, isn't it?" "Yeah, it is". Haechan took a drag from his own blunt and left it to rest between his lips. "It’s a shame that we'll never be able to be happy." Y/n's eye were glazed over. Haechan just simply nodded and laid back. Y/n and Haechan loved each other, everyone knew that, but people didn't love them together. Their parents, siblings, fans, or friends, they all would honestly say that they'd rather see Haechan and Y/n die alone than be together. The couple sat at a picnic they set up which was in the grass at the bottom of the Hollywood sign.

"Haechan?" Y/n broke the comfortable silence. "Hmm?" Haechan didn't open his eyes all he did was hum in acknowledgement. "You know how we've had those talks about what to do if we were ever unhappy?" "Yeah Y/n, I remember. What about them?" Haechan, this time got up into a sitting position and opened his eyes. "Y/n, are you alright?" He looked at the woman he called the love of his life with worry. "Yeah, um, I just wish you and I could be happy. Like I said before. We've tried running away, it didn't work. What if we did the other thing?" Y/n looked as if she was about to cry. Haechan pulled her into a hug, she put her head into the crook of his neck and sobbed. He wasn't at all surprised by what she was suggesting, they both have talked about it before and they were both okay with it. "Y/n, I'm okay with this, but, this is a big deal. We can't go back." Haechan was in no way trying to talk her out of this, he just wanted to make sure she knew what this meant. "I'd never want to go back. If I'm not allowed to love you then what's the point?" Y/n sniffled, tears cascaded down her cheeks, staining Haechan's shirt. Spring 2017 "NO, MY DAUGHTER WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO DATE THAT SON OF A BITCH", Y/n's father was livid when he found out that Y/n and Haechan were together, everyone was. "Sir, I promise, I wouldn't hurt your daughter. Please just give me a chance!" Haechan pleaded, his tone desperate, but it wasn't enough to sway Y/n's father's mind. "Boy, if you know what's good for you, you'll leave my daughter alone". Summer 2020 Haechan and Y/n had run away together, whether it was to prove a point or to get away from everything and everyone, or maybe both. The couple had been together off and on for a little over 3 years now. They were in a cheap motel, the AC was out, and it smelled of smoke from the previous renter. Haechan and Y/n laid on the old bed, only a thin blanket covering them from their bodies being exposed to no one in particular. The room was even warmer than before due to what the couple had finished doing. Heavy breaths and hushed words were the only thing that was heard from the couple until they both fell asleep, in each other's arms and nothing between them. They both dreamed of what their life could be if only they didn’t join the music industry. But then again, they wouldn’t have met if they didn’t. They both loved creating music with their bandmates and touring, but they loved each other more.

Haechan and Y/n would trade everything they have if they would be able to live the life they truly wanted in return. That life consisted of a farm house somewhere in the country side with a porch that wrapped around the entire house. They both wanted kids, they wanted to build a family together and grow old together.

Haechan had this reoccurring vision of him laying in the back yard with their youngest child, still a baby, laying and giggling next to him while he watched Y/n chase their other children around in the sprinkler.

He could hear the laughter of Y/n and their children in the back of his mind whenever he wasn’t focused on something else. He longed to hear it in real life for himself, and not some never ending record that replayed over and over again in his dreams.

He wanted to be able to have a domestic life with Y/n, her washing the dishes while he would dry them. He wanted a stable routine with her. He had started to loathe the screams of fans. He started to detest the snaps of the paparazzi’s cameras. He had even started to despise his friends and bandmates for hating Y/n.

Y/n made him happier than anything that has ever made him happy combined. And Haechan made Y/n happier than anything that has ever made her happy combined.

She wanted the same thing that he wanted, the stable and domestic life style. She didn’t want the rush of always having somewhere to be. She didn’t want someone to always be perched on her shoulders telling her what to do, what to wear, what to eat, what to say, and what to be. Haechan was the only thing in her life that allowed her to breath.

Y/n could close her eyes and allow her self to let go. Even if it had to be in secret and not for long. Haechan told her about the visions of their future together and that sounded like a dream. Haechan woke up first, as usual. The sun peaked out from where the curtains weren't drawn all the way closed. As much as they didn't want to admit it, they needed to get back to their normal lives. Haechan was still in the band and Y/n was due to record an album. Their little month runaway was coming to a close as their phones started to ring even more frequently, people reminding them of deadlines and concert dates. "Y/n, Y/n, it's time to wake up. We need to head back to L.A. soon" Haechan's hushed whispers weren't enough to wake the girl. That resulted in Haechan leaving a few trails of kisses up Y/n's neck and down her back. She finally stirred awake and rolled over to face her lover. "Good morning, my love. I really wish we didn't have to go back, I would rather stay here with you, for the rest of my life if I could". He moved the hair that was fanned out in Y/n's face, and he pressed a soft kiss to her lips, still pouty with sleep. When they finally made it back to L.A. paparazzi swarmed them, yelling rude things to the pair. "What the hell were you two thinking?" Y/n's manager, Joel yelled. Joel wasn't a fan of Haechan either, he thought that Haechan held Y/n back. But Haechan was used to it at this point, they both were. Haechan's people hating Y/n and vise versa. Saturday, May 27, 2022 "Haechan? Are you sure about this?" Haechan just nodded his head and kissed the top of Y/n's head. He picked them both off of the ground and put Y/n back on her own two feet. Hand in hand they made their way to the side of the sign, there was a ladder on the side of the H. Haechan started his journey to the top with Y/n following close behind him. The climb felt like it was taking years, maybe it was the anticipation. Haechan and Y/n stood at the top, her back against his chest as they looked out at the view. Someone who doesn't know their full story might've thought they were being dramatic but love can make you do crazy things, especially when you aren't allowed to love in the first place. Haechan and Y/n stood at the edge of the H of the Hollywood sign. They both looked at each other. He grabbed Y/n's hips and kissed her, hard. It was a kiss that said everything at once. I love you, I'll miss you, and I'm sorry. Both of them had tears running down their faces. They stayed close to each other not wanting to let go, not quite yet. "We might not be able to be together in this life, but we'll be together in the next one. Somehow, someway, I'll find you. In this life we just had too many obstacles, but I love you more than anything and that was the only thing I was ever sure about". Y/n finished her little speech and took one step closer. Y/n looked up at the man with a watery smile, Haechan too had the same smile. Here they were, at the edge, about to jump. They shared one last kiss together, one that was full of passion and salty from the tears. They pulled away and took one last look at each other. Their fingers tangled together and then they both stepped off.

Love makes you do crazy things. In Y/n and Haechan's case, they loved each other to death.

If I believed in fate. It means I was meant to fall in love with someone that would be taken by death in one winter season.

Love the great playwright. Would adore watching Mr. Garfield tackle Shakespeare again except I doubt I'd be able to view it live. But still, so powerful the words and the drama the very best dramatic actors/actresses showcase his works the best.

What’s the Roman/Julia shipname? I’m leading toward Joman but eh, I just don’t think their first names make good shipnames like Remery or anything.

My fan made wallpaper for the cw show Star-Crossed. I made it because if the real one comes It's only gonna be of Roman and Emery and not them and the other cast members.
