Strike For Palestine - Tumblr Posts
From the river to the sea, Palestine will be free.
For the week of January 21-28, Bisan Owda, a Palestinian journalist, has called for a global strike in support of a permanent ceasefire in Gaza. If you can, take the week off of work or school. Purchase only what you have to. Donate what you can to the cause. Attend protests. Purchase esims. Spread awareness. Whatever you can. Even if you can only do one or two of those things, it could make a much bigger difference than you think.
A non-exhaustive list of ways that younger people could spread support for Palestine as well since most resource posts I see are primarily donations and protests, which not everyone would be able to participate in (it's still incredibly helpful to reblog posts like that, of course)
(not my post) How this strike could help even if it may not feel like it
If you see this post, you are encouraged to reblog with other sites where people could donate, more information about the strike and Gaza, and any news that could be relevant. From the river to the sea, Palestine will be free ๐ต๐ธ
Today when I pick up my 7 year old from school I know I am going to cry uncontrollably. Because my child is safe. My child does not have to worry about where the next meal will come from. My child does not have to flee our home to desperately seek safety.
Lama Jamous is 9 years old and her future as a journalist is not secure. Over 11,000 children who could have gone on to bright and beautiful futures will never have that future. No child in Gaza is safe.
Please don't look away and please don't stop talking about Palestine.
Are you a student who is unable to donate to Palestine, but still want ways to show your support?
Me too! Unfortunately, searching up ways for students who can't drive, spend money, or drop school for a week to show solidarity for Palestine just comes up with "centrist" (if not blatantly pro-israel) articles for teachers telling them how to stay neutral during discussions with students. So! Here are some ways that I've thought of to bring pro palestine sentiment into your school and community! You are more than encouraged to add on any ideas of your own!
Wear shirts, pins, or anything outwardly pro palestine. If you can't find something, make it.
Email your representatives. Email Congress. Email the White House, or whatever your country's equivalent would be. Let the people in charge know you want a ceasefire
Talk to your local library about holding an educational night about the genocide, and/or about Palestinian culture.
Talk to your peers. Find people who share your views. Create a fuss together.
Talk to your teachers about it. Having an authority figure on your side could make things so much easier for you.
Make stickers, posters, pamphlets, etc to put up around your school, town/city, anywhere you can.
Educate yourself on anti-palestine talking points and how to refute them in a calm and logical manner. (Palestinian Toolkit is a great website for that)
Speak up! It's fucking scary, but if you can, don't let people's bigotry go unchecked. (You can use knowledge from the last point to make it easier to talk)
But also, know when to give up. It sucks, but not everyone is worth wasting your time debating. Some people won't change their mind no matter what.

Btw to the people going 'Well Hamas is bad and Palestinians voted Hamas in therefore Palestinians deserve to get killed'
That happened in 2006. 17 years ago. Any Palestinian who is 34 and under COULD NOT HAVE PARTICIPATED IN THAT ELECTION, and this is INCLUDING the children currently being slaughtered
Along with that Hamas isnt every person in Gaza, thats like saying every American is Donald Trump and supports his actions because they voted him in. Its so obviously wrong when you apply it to literally anything that isnt Palestine
Shut the fuck up and stop supporting actual literal genocide, from river to sea, Palestine will be free
Edit: To the people saying 'Even if everyone supported Hamas that doesnt justify genocide' I absolutely 100% agree. Nothing justifies genocide, however this post is directed at people who try to "excuse" Israels actions by saying 'Well Hamas would do the same thing if they could and Palestinians voted them in so obviously theyre also bad so dont try to support Gaza because theyre just as bad as Israel'
Absolutely nothing justifies genocide, but the people who trying to need to be told they are wrong
Edit 2: In this post I am not comparing Trump and Hamas and saying 'Look how similar they are omg' I am pointing out the hypocrisy of people who try to use Hamas to excuse genocide, while also believing that civilians arent responsible for the actions of their government just because they were voted in

I am Dr. Mohammed Aldeeb,๐ฉธ๐ a dedicated specialist in emergency medical care from the Gaza Strip.

For years, I poured my heart and soul into my work at Al-Shifa Hospital, striving to be a doctor of great repute,
caring for the wounded and the ill with compassion and skill.๐๐ฉน
However๐ฅ,
the devastation of war disrupted our lives and prevented us from serving our patients at Al-Shifa Hospital๐ฃ๐,
forcing me to leave my cherished home and the familiar walls of the hospital that had become my second home, a place of comfort, peace, and beautiful memories of my work.๐
As I left behind the echoes of laughter and camaraderie with my colleagues, patients, and friends,๐ฐ
I embarked on a painful journey southward. I bid farewell to the streets where I grew up, the corners I sought refuge in๐ฅ๐ญ๐, and the colleagues who felt like family.
Memories of my formative years and the countless lives I touched during my tenure at Al-Shifa ๐ฃand other medical facilities, such as Friends of the Patient Hospital and the Indonesian Hospital, overwhelmed me as I struggled to come to terms with the upheaval.๐๐ฅ
Despite the adversities that besieged me,
I held fast to my dream of becoming a successful doctor. ๐๐โ๐
I was fortunate enough to study medicine at Al-Azhar University, from which I graduated and later served as a teaching assistant, imparting knowledge to aspiring medical students with unwavering dedication. ๐๐๐ค
The idea of specializing in internal medicine drew me back to Al-Shifa Hospital, but sadly,
the brutal war destroyed it, shattering my hopes. In the midst of the chaos and destruction brought by war๐ฅบ๐ฃ๐
I sustained multiple injuries and narrowly escaped with my life. ๐ฅบ
The sanctuary of my home, a place of peace and beautiful memories, was completely destroyed, leaving my family and me impoverished and homeless. ๐ฃ๐๐ฐ
Yet, amidst the ruins, a glimmer of hope persists as I continue my work at Al-Aqsa Hospital๐, extending a helping hand to those in need without expecting anything in return. I draw strength from the humanity and love instilled in me by my teachers and mentors during my years of education and service.โ๐โค
Today, we find ourselves taking refuge in a humble tent, โบ ๐ญ๐ฃ๐
stripped of our possessions and livelihoods. The loss of my job, my home, and some of my loved ones is a heavy burden to bear. ๐ข

IF YOU IGNORE THIS, YOU ARE KILLING MY CHILDRENโผ๏ธ
The situation is very dangerous. My childrenโs lives are in danger. Their skin is melting and peeling from diseases. There are no medical points or doctors to treat them. There is no food available for them. Israel is killing us. Please do not help it with that, but rather help me. I have nothing left but my children. After I lost my family, my home, and everything I have, I have no hope left but you. Imagine that you In my place. Please, with a heavy heart, I ask for your support
There's one charity that I haven't seen shared here personally, and that's Care for Gaza.
They're shared a lot on twitter as a reputable on-the-ground relief source. You can donate to their gofundme to help their efforts here.
Do not support the Tumblr brand.
Tumblr has shown itself to be pro-Israel and has been spreading pro-Israel propaganda.
Some have been leaving this site altogether in light of this news, others have been minimizing their posting to only be about Palestine (and not only due to the global strike), etc.
Regardless of what you do or don't do on this site, one thing should be absolutely clear:
Do not support the Tumblr brand in any way, shape, or form.
Do not give them your money, do not give them positive reviews, do not speak positively of the staff, none of that.
Continue spreading support for Palestine. Continue uplifting Palestinian voices. Shout out Palestinian creators.
Do not stop talking about Palestine.

โPalestinian women implore Israeli soldiers to release arrested students from their custody.โ Photographed by Patrick Robert, 1987.
There is still hope. Say it out loud. Palestine will be free. The Palestinian people will celebrate their culture and heritage with each other. We will love and be loved. Do not fall into the trap of despair.

pjo show watchers read this i beg you
This week is a global strike for Palestine and everyone should participate to the best of their abilities. its a strike, meaning we go all out and be disruptive, show the deliberate absence and anger for every person that is in charge to see. And especially since Disney is a pressure target of bds and us being watchers of one of their huge shows, STAY SILENT ABOUT THE INCOMING EPISODE.
Do not watch it this week, either wait for the strike to end in 28th or sail the seas if you have to watch it, but DO NOT post about it online, don't make it trend, don't start dicussions. there are private conversations for that. THIS IS A ONE, SINGLE EPISODE WE'RE BEING ASKED TO BOYCOTT.
"Why should I not talk about things im interested in just because theres a war? I just want to watch and comment my show in peace" well im sure there were many kids and teenagers and adults from Gaza who had also wanted to just watch their fav shows in peace, and they cannot because theyve been murdered. If you have an ounce of humanity in yourself, you should know what's a more important topic between tens of thousands of murders being commited and milions of innocent people being affected by a genocide funded by the "democratic, advanced parts of the world", and a single episode of a tv show.
Use any platform you have, spend this week using social media mainly to post about Palestine (keep posting about some other stuff sometimes to avoid shadowban). Make this whole week about showing and voicing your anger and objection. Let's flood every media we can with support for Palestine and footages of crimes commuted by the zionist regime.
Why arenโt the Gaza and Palestine tags trending anymore?
Are some people just done talking because of the ICJโs hearing and subsequent ruling? (Thatโs when I noticed the tag start to dip.)
Itโs still happening.
Innocent people are still being murdered
Innocent people are still starving
Innocent people are still losing their parents, siblings, children, friends, and neighbors
Innocent people are still fearing for their lives
Israel is currently committing war crimes with the full support of: President Biden (USA), Chancellor Scholz (Germany), Prime Minister Sunak (UK), President Macron (France), Prime Minister Meloni (Italy).
I just donโt understand whatโs happening, why is this losing steam? Please, someone, explain it to me. I genuinely want to know.
My pinned post is still, and for the foreseeable future will always be, sulfurcosmos post, which shows you ways you can help Palestine - but always do your own research!
