if you guys know any more please share!
it’s also an absolute shame i never heard of Sudan Action Week in time!
https://muslimlink.ca/news/participate-in-sudanese-action-week-dec-17-to-dec-24-to-support-sudan-and-its-diaspora
it’s still not too late! i’ve already donated some, and im going to start making flyers and contacting my reps. change starts with the individual!
i’d highly recommend you donate to or share the Sudanese American Physicians Association! they provide mutual aid and spread awareness on Sudan.
They're also censoring people who use these tags on X. Sudanese creators and activists who are talking about their experiences -and often not able to share extensive details about their sufferings because if they do, they could be killed for sharing information. Saying 'genocide' is getting their posts flagged and accounts banned too. We need to be talking about this too.
“DARFUR/KHARTOUM, Sudan – Aisha* lost both her parents last year, aged just 17. “I was left alone at home. I couldn’t reach out to any of my relatives because the situation was extremely tense,” she told UNFPA, the United Nations sexual and reproductive health agency.
“Then an armed militia took over my neighbourhood [in Khartoum], turning it into a stronghold and restricting all movement.”
The conflict in Sudan has ground on for over a year and spiralled into a humanitarian catastrophe. Estimates are that up to 12 million people have fled their homes, 2 million of them to unstable neighbouring countries, and famine is looming in multiple areas. Reports have soared of appalling sexual violence, wielded as a weapon to terrorize communities and exert control.
Aisha only left her house for essential supplies and food. “Although the soldiers saw me moving around, they did not harass or harm me at first.”
“One day, two soldiers came to check who was still in the area. They knocked on my door and asked if anyone else was in the house. Terrified, I told them I was alone. They seemed to be searching for fighters and left.”
But they would later return – this time without knocking. “They came in and pointed a gun at me. They told me not to scream or say anything – then they began to take off my clothes. One soldier held the gun while the other raped me, and then they took turns.””
I think it was silly of me to expect that making one post and constantly reblogging it will get enough attention to help Al-Najjar family. Pro-Palestine blogs on here have been putting out posts and updates non stop to get their chosen campaigns to reach their goals. The thing is, I don't have any artistic abilities or writing skills so I don't have much I can give in return for reblogs and donations...
But from today on I will try my hardest to string up any amount of words possible and do whatever simple art I can do so I can help these lovely people reach their goal. If anyone can help these families financially, I will be forever grateful to you 🙏
The families I'm trying to support are:

Abdul Aziz's family ( @abdalazizaziz2 @abdalazizaziz ) vetted by el-shab-hussein/ Nabulsi #181

I know I sound like a broken record by now: repeating the same things others have said before but I think banality of it all is the point of my post. The fact that I have nothing new to say– not about the genocide in Gaza, not about the dwindling attention of allies, is HORRIFYING.
It has been 11 months of a genocide that the UN calls “war on children”. Malnutrition, diseases, lack of suitable medical care have caused Gazan children to lose their childhood; to lose their lives entirely!
There is no hope left for a future unmarked of pain and my friend Siraj Abudayeh ( @siraj2024 ) , who is father to three sons describes it as a “feeling of oppression”. He laments that his children have been forced away from their schools, hopes and dreams by colonizers and where before there were ambitions to excel in either studies or sports, all they know now is helplessness, fear and anger.
Siraj has told me how his children- Abed, Muhammad and Amir have confessed to their father about how they have begun to feel guilty for surviving at all now ; after having lost so many of their friends to the genocide they are experiencing survivor's guilt and it breaks my heart to hear that. Abed, the eldest son, is ONLY ELEVEN!! Can you imagine an eleven year old feeling guilty because he has managed to survive while his friends haven't ? And what kind of survival it is– Half starving, drinking unclean water, forced into tents where sand mites pester him throughout the day?
I am not sure what happened or why the engagement with fundraisers has dropped so drastically lately but there is nothing more atrocious, more horrible than apathy when children are suffering. It is so strange that we can quote James Baldwin so easily and yet have failed to understand what he meant when he said,
"The children are always ours, every single one of them, all over the globe; ...whoever is incapable of recognizing this may be incapable of morality. ”
We have the power that is not afforded to Gazans and therefore it is on us to be attentive no matter how repetitive these posts feel. It is ridiculous and dehumanizing that during a genocide one has to worry about making a post original enough to maintain attention. And yes I know that we won't be able to stop the horrifying banality of Israel’s evil in a day but WE CAN help provide FIVE families that are dependent on this fundraiser with a lifeline during times such as these.
Please we have managed to get this far after struggling for so long, it cannot be that we will fail Siraj when he is so close to the end goal of 82k !!
So DONATE AND BOOST. Find it in yourself to not just reblog but circulate the fundraiser among your colleagues, friends and family. Share it in your whatsapp chats and discord servers. Share it on any every other platform that you may have a reach on.
Currently at $72,987 CAD of the short term goal of 75k. We have 2k left to raise by tomorrow.

URGENT: Adoption Request: Tawfik has 280 hours to pay his tuition.
Sep 26: The goal is now different but the pace is the same. See under the cut for more details.
If he doesn't, he will have wasted USD $2,500 on registration fees he won't be refunded for.
I don't have the time right now to focus on fundraising like I did in the recent past. Tawfik and I need YOUR support to make this happen. Even if you can't donate, I highly encourage you to adopt this campaign, promote it, keep track of updates, and/or share with others. You can write your own post or spread this one. If you adopt this campaign, I'd appreciate if you left a reply for our peace of mind.

Payment methods: PayPal, Venmo, Google Pay, credit/debit. Here is his aunt's Paypal for him where he can see the daily progress (proof under cut).
Summary: Tawfik's campaign needs to reach $3,700 3,600 USD by UTC Sep 27, 7pm so he can enroll in online university classes for the semester. The second part of his tuition will probably be around a total of $5,000 by Oct 7, check the most recent version of this post for an update.
Current progress:
USD $ 1,087 3,340 / 3,600
(short term / 18,860)
Campaign details:
Tawfik is a software engineering student in Palestine trying to continue his education by enrolling in online classes at an Egyptian university.
He already raised roughly USD $2,500 in late July through a now closed Paypal campaign and paid the school as an application and reservation fee. This is nonrefundable.
I have gotten new information about Tawfik's campaign - sorry I didn't ask about this earlier and I will do so for similar promotions in the future. His tuition can be split into 2 installments: one due Sep 30 and the other Oct 10.
Now he needs to get his campaign to $3,700 3,600 for the first part of his tuition by Sep 27 so he can pay it by Sep 30, 12am in Egypt's timezone.
This number accounts for additional fees, see math section below.
Tawfik's friend transfers him the money daily and the next transfer is UTC Sep 27, 7pm (around 23.5 hours from the time I write this. We must make the goal by this time.
Transfers to Tawfik take 2 days, his payment to the school is immediate, and the money needs to be paid by Sep 30 in Egypt.
Fortunately, the way I've scheduled this gives some leeway but I'd rather we get the money in asap.
The second goal is $1,200 by Oct 10 (not accounting for any additional fees and transfer times). I will update this post shortly after we pay off the first installment.
Math:
Please let me know if I screwed up the calculation somewhere.
Goal 1 (Sep 27):
Update Sep 26: I recalculated based on concrete donation amounts vs a safe overestimate. Basically, he needs $3,600 and not $3,700.
He only needs $3,500 in his gfm to get $2,050 with an estimated 120 donations (200 total donations)
($3,500 - $1,052) * 0.971 - (0.3 * 120) = $2342. This accounts for the gfm fee of 2.9% and $0.3 per donation.
$2342 * 0.88 = $2,061. This accounts for the 12% cut the bank takes and is what Tawfik gets.
This is cutting it too close for comfort so I'm setting the campaign goal to $3,600.
Older calculation:
Tawfik has already spent the $1,052 already earned to care for his family, so it is excluded from my calculation for now. From my memory, he had ~80 donations when I made this post.
His base tuition cost is USD $2,050. GFM will take 2.9% and $0.3 of an assumed 200 to 250 donations. The resulting fee is rounded up to $150.
His bank transfer fee is 12% of $2,050 - $150, which is $228. In the end, he only gets $1,672.
So to cover additional fees, he'll need around an extra ~$600 (I've accounted for the fees on this too).
$2,050 + $600 + $1,052 (campaign money he already used) = $3,702. This can be rounded down to $3,700 as I am overestimating the number of donations.
Goal 2 (Oct 7)
He needs an additional $1,200. With gfm's 2.9% cut and 0.3 per an assumed 100 donations (an overestimate), the gfm fee can be rounded up to $70.
His bank transfer fee is 12% of $1,200 - $70, which is $136. In the end, he only gets $994.
So to cover additional fees, he'll need around an extra ~$375 (I've accounted for the fees on this too).
$3,600 + $375 + $994 = $4,969. This amount is an estimate and highly subject to change. I've overestimated the amount of donations needed to hit goal 1 and when we get there, we'll likely have already made an excess of funds that can go towards goal 2. I am not updating goal 1 because I don't want too many old versions of this post floating around causing confusion.
Update Sep 25: Tawfik saying to donate to his aunt's PayPal because his was having issues

48 million people in Sudan still can not contact their families across the diaspora. They're cut off from the internet, which includes their online banking services as well. Thousands of displaced Sudanese people were also recently turned away as asylum seekers:
This continues to be horrifying. Please keep talking about Sudan.

Hello everyone 🤍❤️💚🖤
I am Majed from Gaza, from the north of the Strip.
My family and I were displaced to the south. After 188 days of exhaustion, constant fear, and losing everything we owned, we were displaced to Egypt and paid a large sum, but some of my family and all our loved ones are still suffering in Gaza💔. We don't have residency here, so that's what makes it complicated. I also set a goal of 6,000, which is a short-term goal
Of the total specified amount.
Your donation, no matter how small, will make a big difference in my life and the lives of my children 🙏🏼🇵🇸🍉

🍉I am Mahmoud Ayyad, a Palestinian from the besieged and destroyed Gaza 😭😭, coming from an extended family of young children, women and elderly people ❤❤ who have been suffering😭😭 for 300 difficult days from an aggressive war.
Our lives are harsh because we lack all the basic necessities of life. Everything has become scarce and unattainable. There is no food, no water, no medicine.
So, I ask you to help me keep my family safe and alive, especially after we had lost all our sources of livelihood. Please do not leave my family to struggle and suffer these difficult days alone. You can support my campaign by donating whatever you can or by sharing my posts to reach others who can help us survive the war to safety and peace. Hello 👋 my ❤ friends !
I am asking you to support my newly created campaign to help my family survive the gruesome war over Gaza to safety and ✌️ peace.
Life has become incredibly harsh, tough and full of hardship and painful suffering. We lack all he basic living essentials and necessities such as food, water , medicine and other needs.
The war has made our life hopeless and desperate. My six-member family has been going through the hardest days they have ever experience for almost eleven months due to the disastrous war.
The war has taken every beautiful thing from us, leaving us homeless, displaced and jobless.
The rising prices of all necessary items of life has complicated our living conditions especially when all our savings were spent over the least necessities and needs.
So I am now asking you to lessen and minimize our burdens and loads of life through your contribution. You can help my family survive through donating whatever you can or reposting my messages.
Yours
Rewaa
