Team Prime - Tumblr Posts
Okay, now there's a character I have in TFP I wish I'd see more of. And this is my cowboy Autobot Wheeljack. So if I can't see more of him, I'll discuss him. Brace yourself for a Wheeljack/Bulckhead relationship analysis.
I really like this character, but it feels so wrong that he gets no good solid long talk with Bulckhead about their history (at the point of season 2. Haven't seen season 3 and movie yet).
There's 4 plot points that aren't really explored with him and Bulckhead imo.
Firstly, Bulckhead's hard choices that hurt Wheeljack.
Seeing how Wheeljack couldn't let go of Bulcky's abandonment of the Wreckers, I hardly consider that the dialogue between them was pleasant.
"Hey, you don't know Optimus as I do! Being a wrecker meant everything to me, but I left it behind cuz..."
"Because Prime was the real thing blah blah blah"
There's some kind of undisguised pain/anger in a way he says it. And yet they have no conversation about it, even though Wheeljack is clearly hurt. For some reason I feel the kind of betrayal in Jackie's voice and not only because of that particular abandonment (though it's the main reason). The other reason of this pain is a second chance that Bulckhead has lost/ignored waaay back in a first season. Remember how Wheeljack offered Bulkhead to go with him like good ol' times? Call me dumb, but I see it like some kind of a test, last chance given to his friend he hasn't seen in probably centuries. But he failed. He once again choose someone else above him, above wreckers.. And I don't want to antagonise Bulkhead, he might have had the best intentions at heart, but from Wheeljack's perspective it was another proof of the painful truth, which leads me to the second issue. Time's arrow neither stands still not reverses, it merely marches forward.
Secondly, Everything stays, but not actually.
It's an another interesting trait I see in WJ. He desperately tries to hold on the past, the Wreckers. It was kinda confirmed by Bulkhead's own words: "...... Because some bots never change, hah.....". This is also represented in Wheeljack's desire to get his old crew together by seeking his wrecker friends, offering Bulckhead to go with him. Maybe it is also why Wheeljack is so against Ultra Magnus. Now this is where I have a question. Since Transformets: Exodus is canonical to TFP, there's a strange contradiction between these two amazing narrations. TFE says that Wreckers formed under the Ultra Magnus' command after the siege of plateau Hydrax (sorry if I call somethings different names. English isn't my first language and I'm reading the translated version), but in TFP he was sent by OP to rule them for some reason. What should I believe? But anyhow, my analysis is also proven by his inability to go further in some ways. Being a loner and unable to work in a team Prime may be a subconscious repulsion of novelty. He doesn't want to be like Bulckhead back on Cybertron. Which, once again leads us to the second big problem in the Wreckers relationship I wished we'd see them discuss. "Do you even care?"
Thirdly, Bulckhead seemingly carelessness for his fallen camarades.
While Wheeljack was searching through the space for his Wreckers, Bulckhead stayed at Earth with Optimus, not even trying to at least contact some of them. I know it wasn't Bulcky's fault, knowing the situation, but it still might have just be yet another proof how Bulckhead moved on with his life, while Jackie couldn't do it for centuries. The another moment that planted yet another seed of this realization in WJ's head was once again the proposal Bulck has denied. From WJ's perspective it just seemed that some human he [Bulckhead] knew for a few weeks/months meant more than him, than wreckers than the precious past. Which is somehow very depressing. It's way too late for me to come up with interesting transition. "What took you so long, Bulck? Don't tell me ridin' with Prime made you...... Soft"
The last, but not least interesting thing I've noticed is BH's and WJ's different opinions on the commanders.
I think this is the last nail in the coffin of their past. Like I guess in late season two/season three WJ finally realized that no matter how much he'd like to be back to the good old days with Bulckhead, it is impossible. It was centuries, Bulck changed and there was nothing Jackie could do but accept him, like Bulcky and Team Prime (kinda) did.
In the end of this dumpster fire of an analysis of this relationship, I want to summarize all in kind of TLDR way.
Basically all I've meant is it's sad we've never got to see them talk deeply about their problems with each other. It would've been an interesting dynamic of a friend who moved on and the friend who desperately holds on the past.
Okay, it scrapping 4 in the morning where I live. I have an hour of sleep leftπ and sorry for grammar..... I'll go a mimir.
Well, it's once again pretty late for me and I have no idea what is my life, so why don't I discuss Wheeljack again?
I mean, he's kinda overpowered and *slaps him* he can fit so much trauma!
Why do I feel he's overpowered? This honey can take an energon mine solo (- Miko) and if he wasn't this reckless he could've supplied team prime like it's nothing. He also escapes decepticons TWICE! ALONE!! If Wheeljack had some patience with the whole boss thing, he would've been one of the best allies.
And what do I mean abt trauma? Well, imagine u have a gang/close friends/family you love very much. U fight in a war for primus knows how long and u slowly lose some of ur friends. Then ur bestie says he transferred to another squad and they're gonna abandon the planet soon. Then u had tolerate ur new boss, tho u hate being controlled. Then u leave alone and spend centuries (or less idk) seeking ur long lost comrades only to either find them already dead or see them die in front of u. And when you finally find ur beastie, he repeatedly chooses his new family for u, and when u finally decide to stay with him and this new team, HE NEARLY DIES;!! TWICE!!! And this is just what I can remember. Guys, I know he's mostly seen like a funny badass bomb uncle, but he's fate is truly tragic. I love it.
It's once again a nighttime and I'm once again here with scene/character analysis.
As it's prominent from the last few post I'm a quite Ultra Magnus enjoyer, and I'm very upset at how people see him as heartless nerd. I see him as a person very damaged by the war. So here's some of my thoughts.
Ultra Magnus has a great problems with fitting in, because he forgot how to be in this kind of relationship and it's just depressing. For at least a century he has been in a war that took all his time for friends and especially family. And part of me thinks it is because Ultra Magnus is used to communication with orders. In "Evolution" we can see how he really tries to start a conversation, but all he knows now is orders and missions. And the next problem with him is he doesn't belong. He doesn't know what a family is, Wheeljack sends very clear messages that he is not welcomed to the Wreckers. Magnus felt completely isolated and this inability to make deeper connections than commander-soldier doesn't let him comprehend familial relationships. And I have some proofs.
The most important one is this line.
"The members of team prime are not cogs in a machine."
Why would Optimus use this particular line? It felt very meaningful and even as a non-english speaker, I felt it was very important for Ultra Magnus' character. So I went to Internet for the answer and I found this..
This one line opened a lot abt my boy. UM considers himself and team Prime through this war prism. "You are important, but we know how war is. Everyone can't survive. Sometimes you have to sacrifice something for a better outcome. Magnus doesn't think he's better than the rest of Team Prime, quite contrary, he holds himself by the same standards. I think Ultra Magnus sees himself as this metaphorical cog in a machine. He is important now, but if he isn't important in great scheme of things. This sounds like a very army type of mentality. He's prepared to die for a mission and sees little value in himself apart from weaponry and missions. So when Predaking had him and Wheeljack cornered he accepted it fairly quickly, yet was saddened with a thought of joining the allspark, especially with Wheeljack, whom he is to protect as his subordinate.
After Ultra Magnus wakes up, he's met with a lot of pleasant developments. Now he is fully accepted, Team Prime is by his side, and even Wheeljack drops this very meaningful line "Magnus fought like a wrecker"(=you're accepted in our group). And after finally asking OP about what was a Team Prime, he found out about a new concept, that basically breaks all his perceptions.
Family.
It isn't the army, or the elite guard where you are easily replaceable and aren't important. Now Ultra Magnus is family. And, forgive me for clichΓ©, but you can't replace a family. They all are accepting each other and won't willingy leave someone behind for a brighter future.
I think if Ultra Magnus had more screen time his arc would be about relearning to care/connect in a deeper way and finding your own and others' importance, showcasing hardships of a soldier, trying to become more relaxed and closer to a people he knows and loves.
Or mb I just overanalyze one lineΒ―\_(γ)_/Β―
(Also UM and OP have this so sweet bond. Former is, being as socially awkward as he is, still being honest about his feelings and asking smt he doesn't understand. And Optimus completely trusts his lieutenant with the team family and is able to see when the other's uncomfortable/sad. I dunno, they're so brothers/friends. They're very close without having much interactions on screen.)
what if optimus was a human teacher?
Well here is an interesting concept I am 100% going to go crazy with. This is a long one though so I'm going to break this up with a read more and a warning that this isn't going to go the way you might think.
Not So Normal Teacher
The Archivist in Optimus was bored.
Megatron had been quiet for over a year and not a spark had a thing to do until the Decepticons made a move. He had already reorganized the Autobot database three times and he couldn't exactly go wandering off with how much energon he used. He was stuck at base handling communications and mission assignment, and Primus, even the Matrix was antsy. He wanted something to do, anything really. And so after months of sitting around being driven half mad by lack of stimuli, he came up with an idea.
The Archivist in him wanted to teach, to preserve history, and to collect data. What better way to do all of that than by taking up a position as an educator? It was rather outlandish considering he was a Prime and from another world, but there was a school in the nearby human settlement hiring. He had no need for human currency nor was it particularly wise to go sign up as a teacher when the Decepticons could resurge at any moment. However he reasoned that if nothing else he would gain greater insight into human capability through his endeavors.
Ratchet was against his idea from the get-go but allowed Optimus to go through with it after he gave his reasoning and pointed out that he would actually use less energon if he kept his frame at base and worked elsewhere. Thus with Ratchet's begrudging assent, Optimus made himself a whole forged identity for his human holoform, plopped his real frame down in his berth, and got to work.
Orion Pax turned up to the interview looking his best, but despite his efforts there were still a few little things that set him apart. He was indeed professional in wearing a simple turtleneck sweater and jeans with a belt. However that was not what made the interviewer a little concerned, no it was fact that Optimus's hair looked like the American flag with the mixed red white and blue alongside the little markings on his face just under his eyes along with scars that had also transferred over. There was also the fact that his eyes were a little too bright, his movements a tad too stiff, and the way his voice seemed nearly melodic in nature.
However since Orion Pax managed to answer the interview questions perfectly, had a clean record, and was the embodiment of politeness and patience, he was accepted in short order. Thus Optimus got himself a job at Jasper Nevada Memorial High School as history teacher.
Orion Pax befriended the entirety of the teaching staff by the end of week one with his kind disposition, patience, and wisdom beyond his years. He assisted the math teacher in grading papers and even taught him a thing or two with all the patience in the world when the teacher began to struggle. He aided the English teacher by bringing her a cup of coffee and pointing out a small error in her class prep work. He helped the gym teacher get the court set up for the lesson that day and helped him organize the various equipment in record time. He stopped the science teacher from accidentally creating a deadly gas when the teacher passed out from exhaustion halfway through an experiment, leaving Pax to carefully clean up and then grade the teacher's papers for him. Then to top it all off, he assisted the music and arts teacher in her efforts to decorate her classroom for the school year.
The staff loved him, especially the school cleaners since Pax would always stay up late to help them clean despite their protests. He was the perfect co-worker, and quickly found himself as the most loved teacher once the school year started. His students were skeptical of the teacher who looked like he crawled out some sort of cosplaying event and had an American flag for hair, but they swiftly warmed up to him due to his manner of teaching.
Optimus hadn't actually done any real research on human methods of teaching, instead relying on his own experience. In a school as out of the way as Jasper Nevada High School, the regulations were not as strict and so long as students passed their exams, he was allowed to teach as he wished. He did have to adapt a few of his methods to account for human biological limits, but he quickly garnered the students interest with how he went about his teaching.
Using a holoprojector he adjusted to look more like a human one, Optimus, or rather Pax gave the children a more interactive experience. He was passionate as he showed them history in simulations and introduced them to old battles in complicated holographic maps. His classroom was covered in star charts and old documents, studies, and artwork. Every student was urged to find something historical that interested them and dive into it with all their passion and enthusiasm. No students were left unheeded and all their issues were accounted for. The social students were grouped together and given specific historical figures to study in a manner similar to what the archivists of Cybertron did. The less social were given special homework, being required to study a specific event and bring in all they had gathered.
Students with disabilities such as dyslexia and other reading or information processing impediments were personally tutored and grouped. Those who had issues reading were given a partner who would do the reading while they took notes and sectioned out data. Those who had trouble paying attention to certain subjects were given work in areas that had their interest. A child who found warfare to be of interest would be given to mission to look into the Art of War and compile an alternate battle plan for the assault on Rome. A child who preferred the more domestic texts was to come up with a whole biography that was time period accurate for a fictional character living in their chosen era.
Every student had their education specialized to suit them best alongside the general education Orion had them listen to.
Orion was not harsh, he didn't give homework in the manner of other teachers and instead gave the students one big project to complete over the year and smaller personal research projects to complete once a month. A good archivist doesn't rush his research, no, instead time and dedication is given to ensure everything is correct and proper. He did everything in his power to instill this into his students, never putting stern deadlines on anything and instead focusing on fostering interest and a desire for truth.
He wanted his students to love history, not despise it. He wanted them to learn from the mistakes of their ancestors and move forward. And most importantly he made sure to remind them to not be angry at the past and instead see it as an example of another time. For his efforts his students loved him.
It certainly helped that he tended to tell his students altered stories of Cybertron's history, changing bits and pieces to make it seem like a legitimate but long dead human civilization. His students were enraptured with his tales and the battles he made come to life with his projector. Even other teachers would come to listen if they had free time. However to keep his students on task, he only told them stories when the completed their other class's homework before his, thus leading to other teachers finding more success in their lessons too.
After particularly good performances from his students, he would quietly teach them pieces of his culture. He told himself it was just because it was something for them to do, but deep down he knew the real reason why he did this. He didn't want everything of his people to be lost if he were to lose the war. He didn't want everything his people did to be forgotten and washed away by the tests of time. If he was to fail... he wanted something to remain with his students.
Thus he taught them everything he could. He told the other teachers that it was from an ancient culture long forgotten that he was personally studying and come up with some forged documents to prove it. Then his students were introduced to the Ancient Cybertronian language and received extra credit for every work they submitted written in it. He altered the manner in which the glyphs could be processed and spoken while still keeping it as true as possible so that his students could speak it and read it. Then he offered them even more extra credit if they spoke the language in class.
It brought him no end of joy when one Rafael Esquivel made it his mission in life to learn and speak Ancient Cybertronian. If he wasn't long used to having to remain on task even while under increadible stress he would have devoted a great deal of his time to ensuring the boy understood everything perfectly. However he abstained and kept his focus, teaching all his students equally and making sure they were still learning their own history. If Rafael came to him after school to learn more, Optimus never rejected him and taught him happily, more than a little pleased when the boy's glyphs came out as perfectly as they could considering his biology when he spoke.
He also showed his students old dances from all across Cybertron. He altered them as much as he could and gave students different dances based on personality. Students got extra credit if they could perform a dance perfectly by the end of the school year. He never really expected any of them to do it, but by Primus he was surprised when Miko Nakadai turned up guns blazing and performed three different dances from different castes as perfectly as she could considering her biological restraints. She was a terrible study, but evidently her interest in dancing was increadible. Optimus may or may not have taught her a few more dances a little later just to see if she could do it, only to be shocked beyond words when she could indeed do it.
Lastly he introduced his students to Cybertronian art which had a heavy reliance on story telling. It was an end of the year project since his students managed to burn through the curriculum in less than six months and get mostly through the next year's work before the Principle asked Pax to slow down and teach them something else for a while. Optimus thought slowing his student's growth was ridiculous, but he complied and taught them how to engrave and paint in the manner of Cybertronians. It was shortly after he began teaching this that he was yet again surprised to find Jack Darby of all his students to be the one to perform best.
The boy was an excellent engraver, to the point where if Optimus were the kind of mech he might have even let Jack engrave his outer plating. He could get the glyphs nearly perfect every time and had a gift for painting that surpassed more than a few artists from Cybertron during the golden age. It shocked and awed Optimus more than he cared to admit, and much like with his two other exemplary students, he may have slid Jack over a printed copy of some other examples of Cybertronian art from the Autobot database.
He was a proud teacher, and a fragging good one too by any standard. But that was not all, he also cared deeply for his students and got to know all of them. Bonds were a serious thing on Cybertron, especially the ones found between mentor and student. Optimus took the time to understand every student he taught, to learn their likes, their dislikes, and what their situations were. By the end of his first year teaching he already saw his students as his little archivists. He stayed out of their personal lives as much as he could considering his place, but when needed he would answer a call for help.
A student who came in hurt would find their cast covered in loving little glyphs that spoke of wishes and prayers from Cybertron. A student who had a mental illness would be given plenty of small gifts and attention to help them look on the bright side. Students with body image problems were welcomed with love, always receiving a compliment when they entered. Every student was seen to and cared for, especially in the odd case where they came to him for help.
He said he wouldn't get involved, but he was a Prime, he couldn't leave anyone in need of aid. During the singular instance where a student called him in tears at the end of the school day weeping because of their abusive parent, Optimus didn't even hesitate. His holoform was reabsorbed and his real frame moved out. He transformed and drove as fast as he could until he reached the student's residence, at which point he remade his holoform, called authorities, and may or may not have busted down the door to get his student out of there before they could be hurt further.
Not a spark touched one of his little archivists. And while he did get a fine for trespassing and property damage, Optimus had no regrets. It certainly made him feel like his actions were justified when he found a small bundle of flowers on his desk a few days later from the student he saved.
The team slowly began to get a little worried for him when he began gushing about his students around base and keeping their little gifts. When questioned he had nothing but praise for his students and in the end the team just let him be. Optimus still did the work that was needed of him around base, so why argue with him when he was far happier than any of the team had seen him in centuries. Ratchet did warn Optimus not to get attached, but by that point it was far too late if the small pile of thank you gifts and other assorted thing piled on Optimus's workstation was any indicator.
His students didn't know, but he adored their gifts. Gifts were special on Cybertron, and so for every gift he received, he returned. His little archivists were in his own mind, the best. As such when Megatron made his reappearance two years later just as his first batch of students were graduating, Optimus was actually angry.
How dare the fragger turn up and put his little archivists in danger!? It was unforgivable, especially when because of Megatron's actions, three of his students turned up at base and Optimus had to try not to sputter. Jack, Miko, and Rafael, his three most invested students when it came to Cybertronian culture. What started as a harmless little subject quickly had the children connecting the dots when it came to the team.
They thought what Mr. Pax was teaching them was rooted from Cybertronian influence, perhaps from him unearthing something from Cybertron long ago. They didn't know that Optimus was the one teaching them and still turning up to classes part time every other day after Megatron returned. How was he supposed to not get attached even more when he lived two lives, one as Mr. Pax the history teacher and one as Optimus Prime, the leader of the Autobots, both of which interacted with the children?
Optimus: Jack, have you turned in your school work for the week yet?
Jack: No... I've been having some trouble with glyphs.
Optimus: Oh? What are you learning?
Jack: My history teacher Mr. Pax has been teaching up about a long dead civilization that seems to have been influenced by you bots. He's been teaching us the language they used.
Ratchet: *glaring at Optimus* Oh really? I would love to hear more about it.
Miko: Yeah! The glyphs are boring, but Mr. Pax also taught us dances! See, look! *proceeds to perform a dance from central Iacon*
Bulkhead: Wait, isn't that a dance used by the-
Optimus: *holding a servo over Bulkhead's mouth* The ancient civilization I assume?
Miko: Yep! Its super fun!
Rafael: Mr. Pax also taught us how to speak the old language. I think I am fairly proficient. *proceeds to speak fluent ancient cybertronian*
Arcee: What the frag!?
Ratchet: I do believe we need to have a talk Optimus.
Okay, I just wanna say that I love ALL the fic ideas you came up with and I desperately want to read all of them but I know everyone else wants that too, so for the sake of your mental sanity, I'll pick my favorites
Also, as much as I cry/go feral over your angst works, your fluff/crack stuff does something to my brain chemistry that I need
So I really want to see more of the prompts I requested (omg, someone wanting to see more of their prompt, who would've guessed? Though which one you wanna expand on is up to you) as well as "Of all the things that could happen, did have to be this?", "Human Females Do What Once A Month?!", "Cybertrons newest younglings/sparklings"
Those are some of my personal favorites but if you aren't feeling it or wanna do angst, you do you. Love all your amazing work and thanks for listening to my rambles π
Well thank you for the chance to write more fluff! I am so happy you like my work friend! I've been meaning to get to this request for a while now. But classes have been dragging me kicking and screaming through the mud.
Prompt for this request here.

Of all the things that could happen, did it have to be this?
The battle for the Omega Lock was by far one of the most intense any of the Decepticons had ever engaged in. It was a fierce and brutal conflict that left both sides struggling. However in the end, all Autobots on Earth were captured, promptly executed, and had their bodies thrown into the Cybermatter as a taunt toward their desperate attempts to regain control of the relic. But of course, this singular act of smug retribution came with consequences.
As the bodies of the Autobots sank into the Cybermatter, the Matrix blazed and collected the sparks of the fallen within itself in an attempt to preserve them. Then, with the aid of the Cybermatter surrounding it, the Matrix did as it was made to. It remade those it was offered. Optimus it kept to itself, but the others? It molded them again granting them new life and hoping to save them from execution once more by altering how they emerged. It could not erase who they were, nor did it want to. No, it needed to preserve them and give them a chance.
With that in mind, there was no way the Decepticons, who were still reveling in their victory, could have ever predicted eight sparklings clambering out of the Omega Lock screaming and shivering. At first the gathered Decepticons were too shocked to act, but as a young Smokescreen wailed, Starscream moved without thinking. With soft murmurs and croons, the Seeker held the sparkling close to himself, soothing him with gentle touches and songs. After that, there was no stopping it. Megatron was cruel, but he was not the the kind to allow sparklings to die, no matter their origin. Thus he gathered the sparklings, brought them onto the Nemesis, and set course for Cybertron. Earth was all but forgotten amidst the chaos.
A meeting was held with all of high command as soon as the Nemesis was out of Earth's orbit. There was brief discussion of killing the sparklings considering they were formerly Autobots, however that was shut down immediately by Starscream throwing the biggest fit any on the Nemesis had the displeasure to deal with. The Seeker threw away any pretense of cowardice in order to defend the sparklings, regardless of whatever wrath Megatron might hold toward him after the fact. Thankfully for him, Knockout was quick to support his stance, even going so far as to threaten to damage the ship and tell the Vehicons about the incident if the order to kill the sparklings was given.
As such, with no other choice considering the threat of mutiny, Megatron sighed, and had the sparklings distributed until a better plan could be devised. The Nemesis continued to soar toward Cybertron, but the trip would take time and quite frankly, what interest Megatron had in Earth all but faded. Optimus was a sparkling, and without his foe fighting for the planet so viciously, the competitive desire to take the world was no longer present. Cybertron was his focus, even more so now that there were sparklings on board to fuel and raise. They had been at war for far too long, and now with the Autobot elites stuck as sparklings, it had practically been ended. Cybertron needed to be restored, and Megatron would see to it, if only to ensure he didn't lose the loyalty of his soldiers.
Of course, taking care of sparklings was far easier said than done. Each of the newly reforged Autobots seemed to have something... off about them. All were assessed by Shockwave and with his aid, assigned to the appropriate caretakers until further notice.
Smokescreen was biologically the youngest and based on the tests run, the most mentally stable. He behaved as a perfectly normal sparkling, with all the little quirks and habits of the newly emerged. In order to ensure that the sparklings with more... pressing needs were attended to, Smokescreen was given to the Vehicons, under the supervision of Starscream of course. The former Autobot rookie was perfectly tame for the most part and by all accounts, terrible friendly. He didn't care for who was tending to him and had a fantastic time with just about anyone. He only cried when he wanted something and was totally at ease for the most part. He had no sense of stranger danger whatsoever. His only notable quirk was the simple fact that whenever he got a glimpse of the other Autobots-turned-sparklings, something seemed to click in him.
In the instances where he caught sight of his former comrades, Smokescreen lost any and all self control. He would scream, kick, bite, and overall fight denta and digit to get away from whoever was taking care of him. There was an intelligence in his optics during those instances, and cunning calculation that often led to the sparkling somehow wriggling away and booking it after whoever it was he spotted. Thankfully for everyone, he would calm quite easily once allowed to interact with whoever it was he wanted to get to. He needed at least a half groon with the former comrade in question, but then he would not struggle against being removed.
Bulkhead was the second least difficult sparkling to handle. He and Wheeljack could not be separated without causing both to throw horrible fits and reject energon, and so were given to a caretaker together. Knockout ended up being the one to take both under his wing, partially due to their relation to Breakdown before their reforging, but largely because he was one of the few ground units that could be trusted with unruly sparklings. He treated them perfectly well and took great care of them. Knockout threw himself into the tending of his new charges, even going so far as to create carriers that he wore on his front and back, one for each sparkling. Both his charges were given ample entertainment and offered enough affection to be somewhat smothering. But of course, there were issues.
For an undeterminable reason, Bulkhead spent a great deal of time crying. Next to nothing Knockout did ever seemed to calm him. All that worked for the former Wrecker was being held close to Knockout at all times. Often this led Knockout to carry the sparkling around everywhere during the cycle, even while working. Bulkhead could not be left alone or he would begin to wail. Having Wheeljack with him helped, but Wheeljack had his own set of problems that made having him around a blessing and a curse. Perhaps due to his prior love of any and all things explosion related, Wheeljack was a master at eluding Knockout while he tended to his more sensitive ward. Wheeljack then proceeded to always get into something important, be it the inner workings of the Nemesis, or some wiring that inevitably led to partial blackouts. It was somewhat amusing most of the time for Knockout, up until Wheeljack started making Megatron mad.
Knockout has since kept to giving Wheeljack random broken electronic parts to mess with instead of watching his wreck havoc on the ship. Of course the pyromaniac still manages to escape the confines of Knockout's workspace here and there, but it is nothing serious... usually.
Arcee ended up with Starscream quite simply due to her rather debilitating problem. Anything that moved too quickly, she immediately did her best to attack and kill despite her small size. More specifically, anything with too much kibble for her liking ended up receiving her ire. Shockwave predicted it was due to lingering trauma from Arachnid, but whatever the case, she hurt herself and sometimes others because of her aggressive tendencies. Starscream, long used to tending to feral seeker sparklings, took her on as his own in an instant. He took every precaution tending to her despite her lack of flight capability. It had been far too long since he last saw or was even able to come near a sparkling.
Arcee was a vicious little thing, but Starscream handled her with grace none on the Nemesis knew he possessed. She quickly came to only calm around Starscream and her former Autobot companions as the seeker worked to earn her trust. It was an arduous process, but Starscream carefully cleaning her, singing to her, helping her fuel, and constantly holding her as close to himself as possible yielded results. She could not be around any of the other Decepticons without her newfound caretaker for fear of her hurting herself, but she was renown for the happy sounds she made when particularly at peace. Starscream has a whole album filled with photos of his adopted ward, which he shows off as if it were the documentation giving him ownership of Cybertron itself.
Ultra Magnus was a difficult sparkling to be placed under a caretaker. At first he was given to Knockout alongside Wheeljack and Bulkhead, but that swiftly led to numerous fights between the trio. Not to mention a startling lack of emotion from the former leader of the Wreckers and a subsequent explosion of it made handling him alongside the other two impossible. Ultra Magnus was a mess of emotions and couldn't be predicted at all for the most part... well except by one scientist. Shockwave did fight hard to not be given the position of tending to the sparkling, but Ultra Magnus needed a steady servo to guide him. He reacted to any sort of emotions that others presented with extreme prejudice. Shockwave had no facial components for Ultra Magnus to react to, nor did Shockwave have any outward emotional responses.
There were MANY concerns from Knockout and Starscream about Shockwave possibly turning Ultra Magnus into his lab rat or abusing him. However against the expectations of pretty much everyone, Shockwave was a highly dutiful caretaker once the mantle of being a parent was passed to him. He took all the necessary steps to tend to his ward, including setting up an entire section of his laboratory specifically for Ultra Magnus. In turn, Magnus was as happy as could be in a safe, controlled, and calm environment. He thrived in the stable comfort Shockwave provided and was content to remain quiet as the scientist kept careful tabs on what he needed and when. There was never a moment when Magnus wanted for anything, and in the odd instance where something set him off, Shockwave was there to hold him as he worked, waiting until Magnus calmed. Emotionally Shockwave was not particularly invested, but with Magnus's mental state, that seemed to be for the best for both of them.
Ratchet was an interesting case in that he REFUSED to be cared for by anyone. He was... odd to say the least. Being the most developed out of all the sparklings, he could easily toddle and was capable of managing basic words. What he said was concerning more often than not. He seemed to know things he really shouldn't, especially regarding death and medicine. In the end, Megatron himself ended up snatching up the former medic and becoming his overseer more so than a Sire. Ratchet had no interest in forming any real parental bonds, but he was more than accepting of tutelage despite his relative youth. That suited Megatron just fine as often he would allow Ratchet to roam with a Vehicon as an escort. In turn, Ratchet would visit with almost every one of his former compatriots and hang around with Megatron's inner circle, watching and learning without complaint.
The only times he made a fuss where when Megatron was eventually forced to come grab him from wherever he was hiding out and take him to his crib. Ratchet was NEVER pleased with that development. He got his energon from those his visited, and his assigned Vehicons tended to him when he required aid. He had no interest in being put to bed against his wishes, even if he was not exactly sure why. Once he had Ratchet secured, Megatron would fulfill his one vaguely parental task of the cycle and tuck the sparkling in, answering several questions and reading Ratchet a book of his choice before bidding him a good recharge cycle and leaving. Ratchet was a strange and oddly mature sparkling, one constantly hounding his fellows to ensure they were well. And despite the hatred Megatron once held to the former medic, he came to appreciate Ratchet's willingness to learn and was more than happy to give him classes necessary for a future leader. Ratchet didn't seem all that enthusiastic about leadership, but he took the lessons without complaint.
All the sparklings settled into some sort of situation, that is all save for Optimus and Bumblebee. Their situation was.... unique in the extreme. Before their reforging, Optimus and Bumblebee were bound as Father and Son. The Matrix, in its infinite wisdom saw this fact, and not wishing to destroy those bonds, came up with a fantastic solution. It simply... didn't give Bumblebee a proper frame. Optimus emerged from the Cybermatter screaming and ready to wage war despite being the size of Megatron's servo. But that was not the strange part about his and Bumblebee's situation. No, it was the fact that when examinations were run, it was revealed that Bumblebee's spark shared a chamber with Optimus's. Through some strange means, he yet lived, but was not yet truly developed. Optimus carried his sparkling within him alongside the resized Matrix, and based on the scans, it seemed that once Optimus was large enough, the Prime was going to likely go through the oddity that was budding.
That took almost everyone by surprise. Budding was not... unheard of. However it was so rare as to be little more than a fairy tale. Often it was the result of a set of spark twins forged from a hotspot not developing with enough protoform for both of them to have frames. In those instances, whichever sibling developed would eventually bulk up until there was enough protoform to break off and produce a frame for their sibling. Even in those extraordinarily rare cases, modern technology meant that it was often easier to artificially produce a protoform for the twin without a frame. With that in mind, there was discussion of having that done to Bumblebee, however a shriek of outrage from Optimus and a good look at the adult sized protoforms on board that that idea flying out the window. Not to mention Optimus's Sire coding was still active despite his youthful body, meaning that any attempt to take what he saw as HIS would end horribly. Bumblebee would be left alone, at least until Cybertron was stabilized.
Bumblebee's spark appeared healthy enough once they could strap the half feral Prime down long enough to get a solid look at his spark chamber. The gold and white mote of light spun happily around its far larger counterpart, pulsating as it swirled like a nebula. Optimus for his part was fiercely protective, and once released and given time to calm himself around his companions, he too revealed his oddities. Much like Ratchet, he seemed to know a bit too much and had little desire to seek out a parental unit. During the trip to Cybertron he largely avoided everyone and wandered the Nemesis, only remaining with his former comrades to receive fuel and check on them. Often he fell into recharge in dark corners, unwilling to settle down anywhere due to his parental desires. Thankfully for Knockout and Starscream's mental health, Soundwave, through bribery with energon goodies and respectful interaction, managed to acquire Optimus's trust.
While most certainly odd, Soundwave found himself with the young Prime as his ward. Optimus was perfectly content to remain quiet, muttering to himself and to the unframed spark within him as he followed Soundwave and watched. He was not a nuisance, and so the spymaster had no issue teaching the young Prime his craft and caring for him as required. Theirs was a strange relationship, one that never fully stepped into mentorship or a familial tie. They simply existed and assisted the other as much as possible. But of course their care for each other was quite clear when Soundwave would silently stalk the halls with Optimus clinging to one of his cables as he hurried to keep up.
They were processor ache inducing menaces at times, especially when Ratchet and Optimus managed to meet and be creepy together or when Wheeljack managed to get Ultra Magnus into a tizzy, but they were the former Autobots were Decepticon wards now. Most of the caretakers involved in tending to them would have it no other way, especially once the startling realization that they still required the Allspark to fully repair their world hit them all in the helms. That left them two choices.
One: Wait until Optimus was old enough to guide them to it.
Two: Try to focus on rebuilding Cybertron until Shockwave could find a way to locate it.
Either option involved time and a great deal of sparkling rearing in the meantime.
Hello!
I just want to say that I have no idea how I even came up with this but Iβll like to have your thoughts and opinions on it. Thank for listening.
So here it is: Primus or the other Original Primes possesses Optimus.
Like when it was discovered that the Earth was Unicron and the Team had to find a way to stop him for awakening, Primus or The Primes grind out what Optimus was gonna do and were like βNOPE! NOT GONNA LET OUT SON/LITTLE BROTHER DO THIS!β And like possesses him through the Matrix.
The Matrix was used to communicate to the Primus and The Primes, so why not it like do something like this too just for kicks.
Examples Include: Big Sister Solus possessing her little brother from doing something dangerous while she and Wheeljack create this big hammer to just knock Unicron out. I feel like Solus and Wheeljack would be like the bestest friends.
And thatβs all. Iβll like to have your thoughts on this. Thank you and I hope you have a great day!
This is literally one of the best ideas ever, so thank you for gifting me with it. Now excuse me while I write until my fingers hurt.
Guardian Angels
The Matrix is ancient and capable of not just forging Primes, but connecting the Primes of old to the current one. Primus himself was too old and far too out of touch to interact with his chosen, so the burden fell to the Primes long since gone from the living realm. Of course they were largely limited in their ability to intervene, only capable of whispering knowledge and wisdom during times of need in the beginning.
During the height of the war there were moments were Optimus found his attacks guided by grace he knew not to be his own, however those were few and far between, often coming when times were dire. Aside from those small moments, the Primes that resided within their realm kept out of the affairs of the living, only soothing and guiding gently when required for the sake of their brother. However upon Optimus's arrival to earth and the subsequent issues that came from that, they became more active.
Even then as a general rule they tried to not act, but there were just some cases where they couldn't help it.
The scraplet incident that ended with Optimus and Arcee stuck in the Arctic led to Prima temporarily taking partial control of the frame of his younger brother. It wasn't much, but with Prima's touch Optimus's frame was kept from sustaining serious damage until help could arrive. During that time he did nothing but mutter assurances to his freezing brother, doing his best to distract Optimus from the chill that froze the energon in his fuel lines.
The moments where the human children were in harms way often ended with Onyx taking up a place beside Optimus when it came to control. They worked together, often with Optimus not even realizing it to get the children away from Decepticon attackers. It wasn't obvious to others, but the way in which Optimus moved and his heightened senses when Onyx offered his aid spoke loud enough for anyone looking carefully to note something was off.
Solus made her appearance whenever there was a particular threat to Optimus that he was ignoring. Unlike her brothers, she was not gentle when she took control, often ripping it away from Optimus to get him away from whatever near lethal situation he was marching into with that stoic resolve she both loved and hated. Usually this meant having the team retreat, but when pressed she was not afraid to pick up the nearest hammer shaped object to beat the scrap out of whatever the threat was on her brother's behalf.
The other Primes occasionally gave their input or offered their assistance when something caught there interest, but it was never as often as Prima and Solus. Quintus was fond of making himself known whenever Optimus studied the happening and creatures of Earth. He worked alongside Optimus as a second mind, increasing Optimus's processing speed drastically when studying that particular subject matter. Micronus offered light hearted commentary now and then, sometimes taking partial control to lessen the tension around base with a joke that fit well enough with Optimus's personality to not seem too out of the ordinary. Liege didn't do too much largely because the other Primes did not allow it, but when he was offered an opportunity, he helped Optimus see through lies and spin half truths of his own for his team when required.
Optimus for his part allowed the possession without complaint. It was odd at first and rather jarring when Solus stripped control from him, but the Primes were his siblings. They protected him and guided him, even going so far as to take upon themselves some of his pains when it became too much. Sometimes he would even willingly offer them full control of his frame so that he could mentally rest while they kept things in order. While it was never stated outright, the team and most of the Autobots were well aware that whatever else was living in the Matrix sometimes made an appearance but "it's fine, Optimus will come back soon enough".
Of course this rather rare event of the Primes taking control was completely thrown out the window after Unicron began to wake. At that point they watched on in horror as Optimus stood against he avatars of the Unmaker himself and then rushed to his aid the moment the avatar took a swing at him. Their combined wrath led to all of them scrambling for control, each trying to lash out and fill Optimus with what power they could before Megatron launched his attack and eliminated the avatar.
Megatron offered his aid, but by that point all the Primes were in such distress that Optimus was shoved back until Prima could wrestle his way to the front and take control.
Megatron: His blood flows through my veins! I can lead you to him!
Optimus/Prima: You would lead us there, but how can we be certain you will not betray us?
Megatron: You want to save this world and I wish to rule it. Neither of us will get what we want if Unicron wakes. So until this common threat is annihilated, does it not make sense to combine our strength?
Optimus/Prima: ... You will guide us, but we will see to the success of this mission.
Upon returning to base the Primes kept up their control for a while before Optimus made his displeasure known. None wanted to back off, but Optimus was there brother, and so they adhered to his wishes thinking he had a plan. He most certainly did have a plan, one that the moment they deciphered what it was led to Solus putting her pede down and refusing to let it be.
It took a moment, but as soon as Optimus began offering the key to vector sigma to Jack, Solus snatched control away and shoved the key right back where it belonged. The team were startled, the children were concerned, and Megatron was left in complete confusion as Solus put her hands on her hips and loudly proclaimed her beliefs.
Optimus/Solus: No! We are not doing this!
Megatron: Don't tell me you are backing out now Prime.
Optimus/Solus: Not at all, but I will not allow my dear brother to go forward with his foolish plan. We have fought the Unmaker before with blade and blaster, there is no need for him to risk it all in this manner.
Bulkhead: Optimus, are you alright-?
Optimus/Solus: Oh, he's not here right now. Don't worry though, I am just as competent.
There was little for the team to do as Solus marched over to Ratchet' workspace and forged herself a hammer from what materials she had available. All the while Megatron and the team watched on in ever growing confusion as she finished and waved it triumphantly. The team didn't stop her when she took those able to fight down into Earth's core, nor did they stop her when she took a wild swing at Megatron the moment they entered Unicron's spark chamber. The Warlord was sent sprawling, and with the collective aid of the rest of the Primes, she was able to use the power of the Primes and channel it through her makeshift hammer to once again seal the chaos god with yet another swing.
Not a spark knew what to do when standing proudly was Optimus Prime, or rather whoever was inhabiting his body with a hammer that really shouldn't have been able to do half the scrap it had. Megatron didn't even bother trying to pick a fight and booked it. The team simply stared for a while until Optimus dropped like a box of rocks and came back to awareness groggy and exhausted muttering something about "Solus" and "his plan being totally viable".
Questions were forced to wait as Optimus recharged for a solid week afterwards and was too exhausted to think right for nearly an additional week after the matter.
Cybertronian Civil Warfare
One wrong move. That was all it took to make Optimus Prime, leader of the Autobots, mad. Now Strongarm and Sideswipe have to deal with the unfortunate consequences of their actions by participating in Optimus's game.
(First chapter of a fic I am writing that will showcase some of the stuff being at war did to Bee and co :3)
ββββββ β β β ββββββββββββ β β β
No one was entirely sure what thought process led to the current situation, but Strongarm could remember when it started.Β
The team had gathered to celebrate what was quickly being dubbed the third liberation of Cybertron when it all began. Strongarm and her team, the Bee Team as they were called, were invited to celebrate with Team Prime in the newly constructed crystal gardens attached to theΒ restored Hall of Records. Optimus Prime himself had been the one to give out the invitations, and not a spark had refused. Sideswipe had of course made a fuss about having to go to what he assumed was a formal event, but Strongarm had shut him up well enough beforehand.
Meeting Team Prime in a more civil setting was exciting and she had no intention of missing it for the world. But of course, someone had to screw up. And that screw up in turn led to a series of unfortunate and poorly thought out words.
Primus, did they frag up.
βLook, all I am saying is that I donβt get why you all are so high strung all the time.β Sideswipe remarked as he sipped from his cup of high grade. His optics flared a pale blue, a sign of overcharge from too much to drink. A scowl marred his features and Strongarm suppressed the urge to march over and swat him.
βWhy is that Sideswipe?β Optimus questioned patiently from where he sat at the head of the table. The others present had largely continued on with their activities, uncaring of the conversation, but Sideswipe could sense the way the others threw their fields wider, subconsciously keeping an optic on the situation.Β Β
βIt's pretty bad with Bee. Heβs always whining about us using too much energon and he gets angry about us not being up all night long for our patrol despite the fact that we have cameras.β Sideswipe glared at their leader and Strongarm almost burst from the rage pooling in her spark. Did the little glitch have no respect? These were war veterans for Primusβs sake.
βSideswipe, keep your grievances back at base. We are in a public area-β Bumblebee chimed in, chastation heavy in his tone.Β The former scoutβs optics cycled in on Sideswipe, a sign of agitation that Strongarm had long learned to notice serving under him. Only Windbladeβs firm grasp on her arm kept her from getting up to teach the mech across from her a lesson.
βBumblebee, let him speak. It is at times like these that such issues should be aired.β Optimus sat perfectly composed in his chair, his attention on the red speedster as Sideswipe grumbled and continued, his words somewhat slurred as he continued.
βYou all constantly act like you are better than us. You treat us like newsparks. Iβve been functional for long enough! By old Cybertronian standards I am fully framed!β Sideswipe slammed his cup onto the table as if he were a sparkling and glared at the elder mecha present. Smokescreen stood up abruptly from where he was seated, anger etched onto his features.Β
βYou are a newspark Sideswipe. I am still considered young even though I was forged during the height of the war.β Smokescreenβs servos were planted firmly on the table, his doorwings twitching as he glared. The Wreckers at the table paused in their activities, their words quieting as they stopped to pay attention. Their stillness swiftly led to the remainder of the table falling silent to observe.
Strongarm couldnβt help the way her plating clamped down around her as the war veterans present seemed to make a shield around themselves with their fields. It was suffocating to endure.Β
βThatβs exactly my problem! You get treated so much better than us and you donβt act much different!β Sideswipe wasnβt making any sense. His logic wasnβt adding up, and yet his field screamed of outrage. Evidently he had a lot more going on than he could voice. But Strongarm didnβt care to hear it.
βSideswipe! Donβt be so rude! We are among war veterans and heroes!β Strongarm stood up as well. Her field flared in anger and Smokescreen looked over at her so sharply that she almost felt the urge to sit down. Ratchet slowly began to rise, his servos up in a placating manner as he attempted to speak before being cut off.
βYou all fought in a war. So what? Iβve fought Cons and they werenβt even all that bad!β Sideswipe stood proudly despite the fact that he obviously wasnβt thinking straight. Strongarm wished she could sink into the ground as the gazes of the elder mecha present all zoned in on Sideswipe as if he were fresh energon ready for the harvest. She couldnβt tell whose field was whose, but she didnβt need to. All of them were running with an undercurrent of rage, at least those amongst team Prime. Windblade, Drift and his minicons, and Grimlock quickly began to gather beside Strongarm, stepping back from the table as things became more heated.
βSideswipe, I believe you are not thinking clearly. What you are saying is insinuating a great deal more than I think you intend to convey.β Optimus was still composed ever as the rest of Team Prime slowly began to get up and move. Sideswipe didnβt seem to notice as Bulkhead carefully, and with surprising stealth, pulled the table out of the way in time for the Prime to stand.
This felt practiced, rehearsed almost in a sick way. Strongarm wasnβt sure what to do, what to say even. But she wasnβt given the chance as Bumblebee stepped in front of her and the rest of their team, his gaze surprisingly steely as the situation continued to unfold.Β
βBee, whatβs going on?β Grimlock asked hesitantly. The dinobot was not usually one to look soβ¦ concerned. It startled Strongarm in a way. He was usually always ready for a fight, even against one like Optimus. Here though? It looked like everyone, including the battle hardened Drift, wanted nothing to do with the situation.Β
βQuiet. Optimus will handle this.β There was no room for disagreement in Bumblebeeβs voice. He was surprisingly stern. Usually he was loose in his methods of leadership. However as Smokescreen came over and stood at attention right next to Strongarmβs leader, she felt fear begin to gather in her spark.
This was serious, and everyone seemed to know it.
βI mean it all! I donβt get why you all do all this stupid paranoid slag all the time! Always on our afts about our energon usage and lack of combat training or all that other scrap!β Sideswipeβs field was vicious and sharp, but untrained. His didnβt hurt. But those around them? By the Allspark, Strongarm could feel pinpricks running all along her plating from where Bumblebee and Smokescreen practically emanated outrage.
βSideswipe.β The Primeβs tone had shifted. It was subtle, almost too soft for Strongarm to notice. But her training under Bumblebee had done her good. She wasnβt a spy by any means, or even a special agent. However the few weeks of interrogation training she underwent were having their influence.
Optimus wasnβt happy.
βI donβt want to hear whatever fragging excuses you have, you old bag of bolts! You wouldnβt be held in such high esteem if you just ended the war when it began!β Everyone froze, even Grimlock. Windblade seemed too shaken to speak, her wings dipping so low they almost touched the ground as she stared on in horror. Strongarm was sure she was making a similar expression as Optimusβs expression changed.
He always wore gentle expressions, or at least a soft firmness or strictness. Now though? His optics were startlingly wide, almost as though he were looking at Sideswipe as some sort of prey animal. Optimusβs posture dipped, becoming tenser and his digits twitching ever so slightly. A true predator.Β
βSideswipe, that is enough.β Arcee hissed through gritted denta. The elder femme seemed two kliks away from shredding Sideswipe and appeared to only be kept in place by Bulkhead who glanced down at her in warning. Grimlock was shaking like a leaf and Slipestream and Jetstorm werenβt much better off. They huddled around their carrier unit fearfully and Drift subtly drew his swords, the tension in the air setting him on edge.
Strongarm couldnβt blame him when she found herself palming her pistol on instinct.Β
βThe Cons weβve fought have been smallfry. Sure Megaton might have been a piece of work, but you could have ended this easily! But NO, you dragged it all out! Our planet DIED because you and the rest of these plasma helmed glitches didnβt want to put aside your egos and end things!β Strongarm didnβt think things could get worse. Evidently she was wrong. Team Prime were all angry. Even Ratchet seemed to be on the cusp of letting loose what Strongarm could only imagine was a legendary string of curses.
Despite that, Sideswipe must have been absolutely sloshed since he just. Kept. going.Β
βGreat and mighty Optimus Prime my aft! All you did was make things worse! We wouldnβt have had to deal with all this Primus forsaken fallout if you had just done the right thing in the first place!β There it was. Strongarm could feel it. This was the pinnacle. One more word and things were going to explode.
βSideswipe. This is the only warning I will give you. Be silent now, or I will need to take disciplinary action on account of you disturbing the peace.β It was a bit of a stretch legally. However it seemed Optimus, and the rest of team Prime for that matter, didnβt care all that much. The tension was heavy. It was too much.Β
βSir, that would be an abuse of power. Sideswipe has the right to free speech. He can technically say what he wants regardless-β Over a dozen optics fell on Strongarm like lasers. She wished she hadnβt spoken, but she couldnβt back down now.Β
βWhat I mean to say is that, uh, Autobot law does not permitβ¦β She trailed off, but the wrath of those present was already on her. Sideswipe didnβt even seem to be aware she was speaking on his behalf. A bitter part of her processors resented that. She was hurting her reputation with Optimus Prime and likely the rest of team Prime just to stick up for him.
βWhat are you insinuating Strongarm?β She didnβt need to look. Bumblebeeβs optics were boring into her with such intensity that if he were to be granted the ability to kill on sight, Strongarm was sure she would be dead by now. Still, no one else spoke up. The team were silent save for their unspoken anger which hummed in the air like a dooming court sentence.Β
She floundered, stress prompting her to rehearse what Sideswipe had said. He was saying things that no one was able to, words which should never be spoken aloud. However as she fidgeted with Optimusβs far too wide optics glued to her, she sputtered out a response.
βHe makes valid points!β Oh if looks could kill, Strongarm was sure that she and Sideswipe would be dead a thousand times over.
βHow so?β The Prime questioned, his tone too smooth and practiced. It was akin to how cashiers and those who worked in customer service would smile and wave even as they internally cursed to the stars and beyond.Β
βItβs justβ¦ according to the records, the war started because you and Megatron had a disagreement and failed to work it out. Then as the war went on, neither of you were willing to compromise or kill the otherβ¦β Smokescreen stepped forward, she could feel his field pressing against her. He felt murderous, so much so she couldnβt bear to look as Optimus tilted his helm ever so slightly in what had to be faux curiosity.Β
βAnd it is also stated that the Decepticons werenβt really all that much of a threat beyond their numbers. The Autobots had superiority throughout a good portion of the war, but it was never used. The Decepticons could have been crushed easily if you look at the tactics and the resources available at the time.β Any other words died on her glossa as Smokescreenβs servo pressed heavily on her shoulder, his face so eerily composed that she genuinely feared for her life. Optimus didnβt so much as twitch as he hummed, his optics cycling ominously.
βSo that is what you believe. Is that what the history books say?β Sideswipe had evidently finally begun to sober up a bit as he stepped back. Optimusβs field, which had up until that point been held totally at ease, finally spread out.
It was just a flare, but it dropped Strongarm to a knee as she looked up in horror. Optimus was mad. Her plating rattled and her hydraulics tensed as fear threatened to overwhelm her. Windblade, Drift, his minicons, and Sideswipe didnβt appear to be fending much better when she glanced over at them.Β
βYou believe our sacrifices were for nothing? That the countless dead were lost in a meaningless conflict? How very amusing.β Strongarm didnβt know Optimus, she didnβt even try to claim she was acquainted with him to any serious degree. But his voiceβ¦ it wasnβt him. He wasnβt talking like the Prime she knew and served alongside back on Earth.Β
However, just as quickly as it came, the tension dissipated like smoke as Optimus straightened his posture, composed himself and turned to exit the garden with only one final declaration.Β
βIt seems you have much to learn. Return to your base of operations until you receive further orders. I do not wish to see you at this moment or for the foreseeable future.β Then, just like that, Optimus left. Strongarm promptly hunched over and purged whatever she had consumed during the gathering. Sideswipe for his part immediately found himself smacked so hard upside the helm by Bumblebee that she was sure he was seeing stars. Those of team Prime were cold as they quietly gathered their things and left, not another word uttered between them.
Ratchet lingered just long enough to throw a hangover cure at Sideswipeβs face, but beyond that, only Smokescreen stuck around until Bumblebee waved him off. They were fragged. Strongarm could sense it as she was pulled to her pedes and put in with the rest of the Bee team in silence. Bumblebee said nothing as he dragged Sideswipe behind him by his right pede, uncaring of the pained groans of the speedster.Β
Windblade and Drift offered their arms to keep Strongarm steady as her tanks churned in nausea and her vision swam. She accepted it without question, not even having the energy to yell at Grimlock as the dinobot all but threw himself through the space bridge back to Earth.Β
They had messed up royally.Β
ββββββββββββ
It was to be expected really. All sorts of double patrols, cleaning duty, and plenty of additional training sessions made perfect sense considering how badly both she and Sideswipe had messed up. However the predicted backlash from Optimus never arrived. Strongarm spent months dreading it, even waking up in terror a few times in fear of those far too wide optics zoning in on her.Β
Yet, as the months passed, nothing happened. Bumblebee was cold for the first little while, but he settled back into his usual behaviors within a month. Grimlock seemed to forget all about the incident, Drift and Windblade put it behind them, and Sideswipe spent quite a few weeks in a similar state of alertness to Strongarm before he too calmed. Everything went back to normal without any word from Optimus, not even a transmission or a single set of orders.Β
Everythingβ¦ was normal. And somehow that scared Strongarm more than it comforted her. She had never seen Optimus so angry, and from the looks of it, neither had Team Prime, at least not in a very long time.Β
Her anxiety grew each passing month, until at last, after around a whole year on Earth, a transmission arrived from Cybertron along with its messenger.
βHey kiddos! Iβve got a message from Prime for you all! It's addressed to Sideswipe and Strongarm specifically, but I am pretty sure it was intended for your group as a whole.β Jazz, the special operations agent who Strongarm hadnβt seen since they took down the Council, stood before them. He was as cheerful as ever as he handed over a singular holographic disc. Bumblebee took it from him before Strongarm or Sideswipe could do so.
βDid he give any instructions?β Bumblebee questioned simply, suspicion lacing his tone. Jazz shrugged and smiled, his visor glinting in the light as he put his servos on his hips casually.
βTurn it on. Whatever he has to say will probably be on there.β An obvious assumption, but one Strongarm found herself somewhat concerned with as Bumblebee nodded and plugged the disk into the terminal. There was a long harrowing silence in the space as the rest of team Bee gathered around, watching with rapt attention as the screen flickered on.
βGreetings. It has been some time since our last communication.β Optimusβs voice rang out clearly in the space as his face pixelated into being on the screen. He seemed completely at ease as he sat in a chair, a series of datapads at his side.
βIn light of your previous statements, I have taken the time to prepare an activity for all of you to participate in. All save for Strongarm and Sideswipe will not be forced to participate if they choose to not engage.β She was already being singled out. Beside her, Strongarm sensed Sideswipe stiffening. This was the other pede finally dropping. Their punishment for speaking out of line.
βBefore you bring forward any legal concerns, let it be said before I begin that everything I have prepared is well within my rights. The provisionary council has given me the authority to move your team as I see fit, and all supplies and resources used in the upcoming activity have been funded through my personal efforts and connections.β Optimus sat smugly, or at least that is how it looked to Strongarm as he leaned forward, a little closer to the camera. Fear rattled down her spinal struts as she came to the dark conclusion that the whole year of silence hadnβt been because Optimus forgot. No, she had not been so lucky.
He had been preparing for whatever this was.
βYour involvement is compulsory.β Again, a warning. In the video, Optimus smiled, but it was a sickening thing that left Strongarmβs tanks churning. She reached out to hold Sideswipeβs arm instinctually, seeking the comfort of another as Windblade and Drift came nearer, doing their best to offer silent comradery as the words continued to relay through the audio systems of the terminal.Β
βWe will be engaging in a real time strategy game made as realistic as possible through my resources. This game will take place in the uninhabited city of Helex in exactly one Earth month. You will have the entirety of that time to prepare.β A grin grew on Optimusβs face, and Primus, Strongarm felt that same churning in her tanks all over again. She wanted to be sick as the Prime tilted his helm, an unnatural ease to his movements.
βYou may recruit whoever you see fit. However you may have no more than a hundred units under your control.β Every word was punctuated, almost as if Optimus had long ago rehearsed the lines.
βAny Autobot you can convince to join you is within your rights to recruit. To make things fair, I will not call upon my team or any close allies amongst the Autobots to assist me.β Every movement was far too crisp, practiced even as Optimus held up a datapad showing a map of the city of Helex.Β
βAre you putting it together now?β There was a degree of amusement in the Primeβs voice, and looking around, not a spark seemed to like it. Not even Bumblebee.Β
βYou will have three main objectives which will be given to you a day before the start of the game. I have not selected these objectives. All objectives have been chosen by Elita-One and other neutral parties.β This was real.Β
βComplete all three of these objectives, and you will have victory. However in the event that neither faction involved in this conflict completes all of them, the one with the most completed objectives will be victorious.β Strongarmβs hydraulics threatened to falter as Optimus kept talking. Bumblebee held her up by the arm and captured Sideswipe by his neck guard. Their leader was deadly serious as he listened and forced them to endure.Β
βFurther details will be given to you upon your arrival at the site. In the meantime, prepare for any possibility. This is war, and I have no intention of going easy on you.β Why? Why did it have to be Optimus Prime who they angered?
βDesignate a leader and begin recruiting. You will have no resources from the state, so all of your preparations must come from your own sources. My advice is simple. Recruit those with influence.β Optimus smiled again as he leaned forward in his chair, his optics too wide and too threatening.
βI do this not out of malice or bitterness, but instead to make a point.β Not out of malice her aft. There was no way there was not a personal grudge involved for Optimus to put so much effort into this.Β
βIt is my hope that our game will give you a taste of what our war was like. May you find victory, or failing that, learn a lesson amidst this trial to come. Till all are one.β The video shut down with a dooming whirl and Strongarm struggled to not purge right then and there. What had they gotten into?
βSo we are playing that gameβ¦β Bumblebee murmured, his optics distant.
βYou kiddos made him really mad. Well it wasnβt just you, but you certainly played a part! This will be interesting to watch play out.β Jazz commented with far too much cheer in his tone. Was all of this just a game? Even Bumblebee didnβt seem phased.Β
βHe canβt seriously be expecting us to do this- this bloodsport!β Sideswipe burst out, breaking the atmosphere.
βI agree. Isnβt this going too far?β Windblade commented carefully.Β
βNope! This is a common game amongst troops, at least during the war. Rion just seems to be taking it to the next level.β Frag it all.
βThen I suppose there is nothing to be done. I shall join this game, if only to give my students additional training.β The minicons under Driftβs command look decidedly unhappy, but Strongarm could only feel a bitter sense of relief. This was really happening.
βWeβ¦ better get to work.β Strongarm choked out, her vocalizer failing her as the image of Optimusβs grin burned itself into her mind.
What had she gotten herself into?
Optimus looking for answers on the Internet and getting more and more horrified when it says the chikdren are going to die (like when you look up your symptoms on Google and every sugestion is death)
Iβm apart of the βfrequent nosebleeds when itβs dry AFβ club, and I know it has to be dry as a motherfucker in Neveda, so how would the TFP bots react if one (or Primus forbid all three) of the kids got a (or multiple) nosebleed because of dry air?
I feel you on the nosebleed thing. Dry areas SUCK. As for the reactions of the bots? Well-
Ratchet would take a moment to notice, but once he notices one or more of the children clutching their noses to try and stem the bleeding, he's going to assume the worst. Having never seen a human BLEED FROM THEIR FACIAL ORAFACES, he wouldn't take it well. When a Cybertronian is leaking energon from the intake or optics, it means something has gone horribly wrong with something in the processors or internal components. That fact does not translate well for his view on the children's situation. He would likely drag the kid in question over to the medical berth and hastily begin preparing everything under the sun just in case he needs to perform emergency surgery.
Bulkhead and Wheeljack wouldn't panic immediately, but seeing the sheer amount of blood leaking from the kid in question, they would start to worry. Red is a very bright color, and it tends to look a lot worse than it is. Especially on such a small person. They would do their best to be strong for the child, if only so that whoever it is doesn't worry. But they would be quietly rushing to call up June for fear of losing one of the kids to strange blood loss.
Arcee's reaction would be similarity mature. Her focus would be on keeping the kid with the nose bleed calm. She's seen mecha drop dead on the battlefield because they panicked and bled out faster. So her entire focus would be on distracting and comforting in her own gruff way. She would be the one providing new tissues and yelling at Smokescreen and Bumblebee so that they can go make themselves useful.
Smokescreen and Bumblebee would quickly follow Arcee's lead and help whichever kid(s) are not experiencing the nose bleed. Damage control is their role, and they would do a rather poor job at not showing their worry. Most of their efforts would revolve around preparing to have to give horrible news in the event things go south. Ultra Magnus would, as always, be ready to go with funeral preparations and a speech ready to honor the fallen. Optimus would TRY to make himself useful, but at most he would start trying to get ahold of Agent Fowler and hastily dig through the human internet for some sort of guide regarding what to do to help the child in question before death becomes inevitable.
The team would be organized and controlled. They've dealt with death before, albeit amongst their own kind more than anything else. Moving with practiced precision, they would do what they could to be prepared for any scenario until June or Fowler can explain and the whole team can relax.
If Ratchet checked on the child in question repeatedly over the following days, not a spark said anything. None would say so aloud, but the fear of losing one of the children is strong.
All those bugs are fun and all, but what if the bots were patrolling in a more high grass environment and then suddenly the whole field lights up (theyβll probably think they set off some sort of explosive and they kinda did). Then a huge swarm of fireflies comes flying around. I donβt think they would think itβs that gross but theyβre more amazed by their hypnotizing beauty and nature.
This requires a short written scene.

Generally speaking, Ratchet hated insects. It wasn't just that the abominable little things looked like even smaller scraplets, but it was also in large part due to how... odd they were. If he looked at them with the optics of a Doctor, he could appreciate their formation and structure. Carapaces to shield from danger, senses on par with any far larger being, abilities that bordered on supernatural in light of their small size-
The list went on.
And yet, he still had to believe that he hated insects. So spindly, far too similar to the monsters of Cybertron. How could he possibly enjoy them in any capacity outside of the realms of medicine?
"Ratchet! Look!"
Smokescreen ran through the field, his pedes thudding with every step as hundreds of the small glowing insects ascended into the sky. They fluttered about aimlessly, their tiny frames flaring with bioluminescent light that vaguely reminded Ratchet of home.
"They are called Fireflies." Optimus supplied as he stood still in the center of it all, his optics drawn to the creatures that hovered around him. The glint in his optics told the tale of an Archivist not yet completely torn from his nature. The Prime held up a digit, allowing one of the fireflies to land on it. He smiled, and Ratchet found himself a little lighter seeing it.
"So small..." Bumblebee's binary voice chimed in. He reached out, barely prodding the little things as his optics spiraled wide in wonder. His door wings fluttered, and beside him Arcee smiled as she held the children in her servos. They were pointing in awe, glee etched onto their features.
Bulkhead and Wheeljack were doing their best to put a few of the insects into jars, but their digits combined with comparatively tiny containers and creatures led to them struggling mightily. They floundered in a desperate attempt to catch the bugs without crushing them. Ultra Magnus stood stiffly around the edge of the field, but even from a distance, Ratchet could sense ease from him.
He returned his gaze to the insects glowing above. If he didn't focus on the differences, he could almost imagine he was back on Cybertron enjoying the forests during a cycle off from the clinic.
He hated insects, but maybe just for a moment he could learn to appreciate them.

what if optimus was a human teacher?
Could we have more Teacher Pax?
Do the kids find out Mr. Pax? What's their reaction?
Of course you may have more Teacher Pax! I do love this AU as it is.

Double Life
After the kids became part of the team's life, Optimus quickly began laying low. Ratchet gave him a stern talking to about sharing Cybertronian anything with the humans, but Optimus largely ignored it. He wasn't giving his students access to any sort of weaponry or tech, he was merely instilling a sense of Cybertronian culture into them. What could be so wrong about that?
Still Ratchet was right on one front, that being that his lives as Mr. Pax and Optimus Prime needed to be kept separate. Thus Optimus did what he could to keep the children out of the loop. He even went so far as to take on the guardianship of the children while they were at school by playing his teacher role at the same time. His logical reasoning for it was that more of the team would be available to act and he would both be doing his job as a Prime and teacher. It was largely foolproof so long as nothing went wrong.
And for a long while, nothing did ever happen at school that was worthy of note. The kids came to school and were safe and then came to base where they somehow managed to get into all sorts of trouble.
It was all well and good, right up until the children gained a place in Optimus's spark as more than students. They were his little archivists, yes, but they were also his. Much like how Alpha Trion treated Orion with fatherly affection, Optimus did the same to his three human children. He simply couldn't help but give them more affection when it was appropriate. However that also meant that weather intentionally or not, he took everything regarding them personally.
It got to the point where when he found Vince pushing his luck again by attempting to fight Jack, Optimus grabbed the child by the ear and threw him to the ground without much care. His holoform's eyes blazed and he was unable to stop the way his presence radiated wrath. He tried to be calm, he tried to be composed and not favor one student above another, but Jack was one of his now. Even back at base the team noted Optimus's expression shifting into one of discomfort and focus, his field even lashing out there. He ended up sending Vince home and tending to Jack's minor injuries personally as a true guardian should.
It wasn't much better when it came to Rafael. At one point the boy's parents seemed to have forgotten him on a day where he was to head directly home instead of to base, and Optimus could only feel bitterness over it. He sat with Rafael on the steps of the school for hours, eventually trying and failing to get ahold of Rafael's parents. It saddened him greatly, especially when the boy fell asleep against his side with watery eyes. And so he stayed, even as the team worried for him and tried to call Optimus back, he didn't so much as twitch. Rafael needed him, and so he remained until at last at nearly 9pm when the school started to grow worried, Rafael's parents arrived. They took the boy, but they seemed more exhausted than anything else. It hurt his spark.
When it came to Miko, Optimus almost wished he could take her to a human residence of his own with how often she was left alone by a less than attentive host family. There were many a day when he too sat with her when the team was not in charge of her guardianship. They tended to quietly talk and draw, Miko often being more toned down with Optimus as he silently wrapped her in his field and sang a song too low for her to hear. The girl was a very lonely child when not able to come to base. Thus Optimus began bringing her little gifts to cheer her up on such days.
He loved all his little archivists, but the children were special. He really couldn't help it when he smiled around base as the children spoke fondly of Mr. Pax. It took a great deal of effort to remain at least somewhat impartial. However as with all things, the children began putting dots together when Mr. Pax turned up on a fragging battle field of all places when the children fell into a crevasse to pull them out.
The hole was too small for the Cybertronians to get into, and lo and behold, Mr. Pax turned up to get them out instead. Optimus was sprawled on the ground seemingly out cold and the team were fidgeting uncomfortably as Mr. Pax led the children to them. The children were bewildered as the team dragged Optimus back to base and Mr. Pax led them along, totally comfortable and unconcerned with everything as he sat them down to explain while the team watched on.
Mr. Pax: I assume you have questions.
Jack: Yes, quite a few actually-
Miko: HOW DO YOU KNOW ABOUT THE BOTS??!
Mr. Pax: I know of the Autobots because I am one.
Rafael: What? How can you be an Autobot if you aren't Cybertronian-?
Mr. Pax: *dissipating in a mix of static and light*
Jack: What the-
Optimus: That is because I am a Cybertronian, I have merely been using a holoform to integrate with your kind.
Miko: You mean this whole time-!
Optimus: Yes, I have been using my holoform to teach at your school.
Rafael: But why? You have cons to fight and a team to lead. Why teach us?
Optimus: Because I have always desired to teach, and when I took up the position Megatron was unconfirmed to be dead or alive. It was a good use of time otherwise spent idly.
The children were shocked, the team were mainly just happy to no longer have to cover for Optimus, and the Prime himself was content to be able to walk freely among his little archivists without fear for his identity. It took a while for the children to process, but suddenly everything made sense and Mr. Pax's oddities were all explained away.
He didn't act human because he wasn't human. He was a robotic demi-god millions of years old from an alien world. Of course everything made sense now. Miko was excited above all else and quickly grew to appreciate Optimus in both his true form and alternate human one. She loved coaxing him to dance the real Cybertronian dances he taught her. He obliged without much of a fuss, often adding song to his dances as well when he showed her. Sometimes he would even alter his holoform to be younger and smaller so he could dance with her and show her the steps.
Jack was largely unaffected for the most part once the shock value wore off. He found it a little startling to see Optimus at school but got over it pretty quick. He relied on Optimus more for aid with his work at base and was overall more comfortable around him, but nothing too big. Although he did ask Optimus to go easy on Vince once when he caught the Prime stewing over the boy's actions.
Rafael for his part was just happy to know his teacher and Optimus were one and the same. He began talking exclusively in Cybertronian when at base just because he knew he would be understood. He took great pride in showing Optimus his improvement both in school and at base. He also stopped feeling so lonely when his parents were too busy to collect him since Optimus would tend to him after school, taking him back to base or walking him home instead. it was a safe feeling knowing he had Optimus Prime backing him.
I have a Crack idea for the Sparkling of Unicron AU. Basically, Jack's dad is Unicron, who ghosted June to avoid paying child support. When Team Prime comes to Earth & meet the kids, Jack & Optimus team up to track down their dad and get the child support payments by force.
Jack here is still fleshy & has the same personality, but can basically do what a resurrected Megatron could do in Canon, just on a smaller scale. He can't control Megatron though, his will is too strong. Also, his blood is infused with Dark Energon.
When asked as to why she would date the literal God of Chaos, June states that he "had a winning personality". (We all know you like robots, June.)
I'm just going to answer yours and this anon's request at the same time since it will make my life easier. Previous part here
Little Siblings
After the whole debacle with being exiled for a time, Optimus began to heal. It was a slow process and it was not easy by any means. He had been abandoned, treated poorly, and left for scrap by everyone but his creator and the children. Thus it took time, a great deal of it. However during this healing process, Optimus noticed something new in the children.
Firstly, they fought bitterly in his defense if one of his team so much as looked in his general direction wrong. Secondly they often refused to leave his side, emitting a strange set of waves that were so similar to EM fields but so foreign. Then lastly Optimus felt a vague... connection between him and the children. It shouldn't be. They weren't Cybertronian and couldn't have spark bonds. And yet the closer he grew to them and the more he came to see them as kin, the stronger this heretical and impossible bond grew.
Not only that, but when he was around them, he felt more stable. His form didn't flare and break apart as often. His spark remained more controlled and he could keep his physical form together with less difficulty. They made him feel safe in a way that was not too dissimilar from how Unicron wrapped him in love and care. At the same time, the urge to protect them with every fiber of his being was just as strong as their desire to protect him. They were young, they were small, and they were fragile. He thought perhaps all the emotions he was feeling and the connection that seemed to be there might be because he had been away from his team for so long and was out of touch. He almost questioned his father, wondering if Unicron had anything to do with it, but he didn't, not while he was still upset with his maker.
Then the children had to go behaving weirdly.
After his little flare that left the children incapacitated and led to his exile, there were little things that were off about them. It wasn't much so the team wrote it off and Optimus didn't even notice as he worked to restore his broken bonds and the trust between him and his team. But as the wounds healed and Optimus reconnected with his team, the children's differences became more obvious.
Rafael had an aura around him. The team couldn't sense it, they weren't attuned to Unicron's power as Optimus was. Rafael's entire being radiated strength of spirit in a way not too dissimilar from Optimus. It was almost like he too was struggling to keep his being in line, doing everything in his power to keep his form held together. The child even began to speak in the same way Optimus did when his body was too shattered to form words. He didn't seem to know he was doing it, but his emotions were clear as day with how freely they flowed from him. It was startling, especially when not long after that Rafael's eyes began to glow a startling blue whenever his emotions were projected, often becoming clearer in intent.
Miko was partially similar in that her eyes began to glow whenever her emotions got strong enough to warrant concern. At those times she would gain an aura of fear around her. It didn't bother Optimus too much considering he projected the same aura naturally when he wasn't trying to blend in. However it made him more and more concerned when Bulkhead began to shy away in terror whenever Miko got particularly mad. She didn't understand why the team were suddenly so wary of her, nor did the team know why they kept so clear of her on instinct.
Optimus knew, or rather he had an inkling, one he was growing more prevalent within him as Jack showed signs too.
It had been small and hardly noticeable amidst the flow of battle, but in a moment of stress Jack had seemingly controlled a Vehicon Optimus had been near certain was dead. The boy didn't seem to notice as he fought to keep his fellow humans safe, but Optimus noticed. How could he not? The waves of his father's power were far more intense than anything he had ever felt from an organic.
Thus after a few additional weeks of watching the children project these odd abilities, he reached out to his maker with an inquiry.
Optimus: The children are showing abilities that have your touch evident in them.
Uniron: Impossible. I have no heralds among the humans.
Optimus: Are you sure Creator? They are not like me, that is certain. However the feeling of your power is unmistakable.
Unicron: I haven't made a herald since Megatron, and I have no memory of-
Optimus: Creator?
Unicron: It seems I forgot something rather important.
Optimus: Speak plainly Creator, what did you do?
Unicron: It was during a waking sleep, one I hardly remember. However I for a time walked this earth in an organic form in a mixed delirium of emotion.
Optimus: You didn't.
Unicron: I may have ended up creating three lifeforms by accident, two by throwing around burst of power and one from a one night stand.
Optimus: Primus... you can't be serious.
Unicron: I am dead serious.
Optimus: Frag.
With the knowledge that his Creator had gone out of his way to do things while only partially aware, Optimus hurriedly moved to confirm these claims. First he went straight to the children, his frame flaring and coming apart partially in his hurry. The team were worried and watched on in growing concern as he questioned Rafael, asking for the circumstances of his birth. Rafael quickly confirmed that he had been found as a baby and adopted by his current family and that he had no real issues with it. Then upon asking Miko the same question, he received a similar answer that left Optimus terrified to ask Jack what he needed to.
It could all have been coincidence and a bad case of Optimus's outburst affecting the children in odd ways. He had seen stranger things, perhaps it was all just one big mess up. However that hopeful wish was blown directly out of the water when June was called into base and Optimus asked her a question he feared the answer to.
Optimus: Mrs. Darby, would you by chance be willing to tell me who Jack's father is?
June: Oh? I don't mind, but I couldn't really give you an answer. He was a nice guy who told me his name was Uni Cron. Odd name and pronounced very strangely, he also had some trouble with memory, but he was sweet and treated me well.
Optimus: Why is he not here assisting in raising Jack?
June: Honestly I don't know. He lived with me for a few months, we got to know each other, we spent a night together, and then he was gone the next day. I never heard from him again.
Optimus: ... I believe you may have possibly had relations with my Creator.
June: What? Last I checked, you were a giant robot and your Creator was Unicron-!
June: ... Oh.
Optimus: ... If it is any consolation, I was unaware I had a brother.
Not a soul or spark could utter a word as everyone stood there dumbly for a long moment. Then Optimus put forward his whole theory, to which the children stared at him with wide eyes but said nothing. It was silent, deafeningly so and everyone just.... scattered to think about it for a while, leaving Optimus, June, and the children alone.
There was plenty of nervous staring involved, but slowly and with a great deal of caution, Optimus began to talk with the children and June. He told them of his own creation and his experiences with thier Creator and in turn he told them what he could of their abilites. He offered to teach them and guard them, while also warning of possible side effects such as long life or even partial immortality. It was a very strained discussion even though Optimus was bound to the children by what he now knew to be siblings bonds, but after a while they figured things out.
June insisted on being called mom as soon as she figured out that Optimus had been left to fend for himself so soon after his creation. It didn't matter to her that Optimus was millions of years old and had watched the rise and fall of civilizations, he was a child who never knew the love of a parent and she intended to rectify that especially now that her son and Optimus were confirmed to be related. He initially tried to object, but June reaching out to pat his cheek in a comforting manner left him bewildered but strangely pleased.
Jack was left more startled than anything else and doubting his reality. Optimus attempted to soothe him with calming words and the touch of his field, but Jack wasn't having it. He needed time, and that was acceptable. Miko was on board with the thought of being siblings almost immediately and took to being related to Unicron without issue. She called it her "hero arc" or something along those liens and proceeded to make a show of pretending to have magic powers. It made the tension in the room lessen, especially when Rafael merely adjusted his glasses, looked up at Optimus and murmured.
"So what if I'm related to Unicron? So are you, and you are one of the best bots out there. Besides, we are family now"
Family. It was a word Optimus had difficulty pinning after all that had happened. Bumblebee was family, he was Optimus's sparkling even if their relationship was still a little iffy. Ratchet was family, he had been family for vorns. The team were family, but mainly because they needed to. Optimus had no family by blood aside from his maker. His "siblings" were of Primus, not of Unicron. They were cousins that he treated like blood kin. He loved all his family, but there was something so very novel about having blood related kin right before him.
Of course then when he reached out to his Creator, he found their bond silent. He sent question after question, wondering why and asking for answers, but he received nothing. Unicron was not heeding him, quite likely because he didn't want to deal with his newfound creations.
Optimus was a special case, he was intentional, he was the one and only creation Unicron had poured all his attention into. He was loved form day one, but the children? They were accidents, and Unicron had never been quick to love when it came to those not bound to him. Optimus knew this well, he could read his creator's spark just by letting his base nature take over for a moment. However he had no intention of letting Unicron go without at least speaking to his children. The children needed their father. Optimus had been denied his creator his entire existence up until earth, the children deserved better, or if nothing else the the chance to see where they came from.
Thus he began spending every waking moment hounding his creator and digging around to find another way to Unicron's core if his creator saw fit to continue to remain silent.
