Tea Spells

Tea spells are super easy, effective, and beginner-friendly spells that I still use almost daily. It's broom-closet friendly as well, which is an excellent bonus for those of us who still live at home with traditionally religious folks.

So how do I make one? Glad you asked! There are two ways I tend to do it: one easier than the other.

Pre-made Tea Packets: Simple; get teas that align with your needs. I usually end up opening the bags, adding other ingredients in, and stapling it back shut. Label the little tags and you're good to go!

Loose Leaf: Just as effective but with slightly more potential for some mess. Toss the dried herbs/ingredients you want in your brew together and brew however you'd like.

Here are a few of my favorite recipes!

Relief and Relax: Chamomile, Strawberry, Cherry

Energy and Zest for Life: Strawberry, Lemon, Tangerine, Ginger

Happiness at Home: Allspice, Cinnamon, Clove, Nutmeg, Orange, Ginger

Self-Love: Strawberry, Apple, Hibiscus, Rosemary

If you come up with anything you like in particular, please feel free to add it into the comments. I'd love to try some new things!

The Spark's Ridiculously Easy Energy Tea Spell

So, I did a thing tonight at work. I was really tired and almost falling asleep, so I decided to make some tea and tried to do a witchy thing and it worked! Here it is:

What you need: •Your favourite tea; I used decaffeinated orange pekoe/pekoe-cut black tea mix** •Sugar and milk to taste (I use brown sugar and whole milk because I’m fancy like that) •Cinnamon for power (optional) •Vanilla for energy (optional)

**A side note about caffeine: If you are like me and have ADHD or a similar hyperactivity disorder, you may want to avoid “uppers” like caffeine or ginseng when you’re tired. Things like caffeine or ginseng will actually calm your mind and body more and will make you much sleepier or more tired than beforehand.

Instructions: •Make tea, steep to desired strength •Add milk and sugar to taste (do not stir yet!) •Add optional cinnamon and vanilla •Vigorously stir in deasil (clockwise) motion •While stirring, say, “I infuse you with energy and alertness.” •Drink and enjoy!

*This can be adapted for any kind of drink, especially coffee for those of you who are addicted to that (imo) icky black stuff. :P *Don’t have tea or coffee, but a soda instead? Try adding milk and vanilla (or coffee creamer) to make a creamed soda. :3 *Only have water? No problem! Water is a staple of life, just give it a little energy kick by stirring and saying the words. *Play around with the add-in ingredients to suit your needs! Just make sure you research thoroughly what you’re putting into your tea to make sure it’s alright for your body. Remember that something that is okay for someone else to consume may not be okay for you (like if you have allergies or certain medical conditions).

I’d love to hear about your variations and if it worked for you! Have fun and be safe, lovelies~ ❤️

☀ Calm & Happy tea ☀

image

What you need:

☀ 1 teaspoon earl grey tea (banishing negativity) ☀ Quarter teaspoon culinary lavender (calm) ☀ Half teaspoon culinary dried rose petals (happiness and calm) ☀ Optional: Honey (to taste) (happiness) ☀ Optional: Milk (to taste) (happiness) ☀ Optional: Rose quartz (self love)

What to do:

Boil enough water for your favourite mug

Measure out your tea ingredients and put into a strainer, teapot or teabag (whatever your preferred method is)

After you pour the water let it steep for 4 minutes. If you’re using rose quartz then put your crystal next to your teapot or mug while your tea infuses!

Once it’s done, you can add your honey and milk if you’re using it

Sit down with your mug of tea in your favourite spot where you live and then read a book, have a bubble bath, listen to music or watch something that relaxes you and makes you feel happy! If you’re using the rose quartz you can sit with that in your lap or next to your mug too

A Calming Spell for Back to School

Day one of the Back to School Magic Challenge

Ingredients:

mint

lavender

sugar (if preferred)

boiling water

a mug

a tea ball or a tea pot

Put the lavender and mint in the tea ball and put it in the mug before pouring the boiling water over it. As you pour think about happy, soothing thoughts or envision infusing the water with a nice blue, calming energy. If preferred, say a phrase to state intent, like saying that this tea is to soothe frazzled nerves and promote calmness. Sweeten to taste and sip once it’s steeped to your preference.

Additionally while you drink your tea you can snuggle up under a warm blanket and listen to some music that makes you happy. You could even ice the tea and enjoy it while sitting outside if it’s warm enough!

💛☀️🌼 Happy Thoughts Tea 🌼☀️💛

This is my go to tea when I’m having a particularly bad morning (or I’ve been having a rough week). It’s a great afternoon tea and taste perfect paired with some yummy homemade lemon cookies. ~ disclaimer ~

 Happy Thoughts Tea

Ingredients

☀️ Black tea (loose or bag) - simulates your conscious mind which may help aid in clearing mental blockages.

☀️ 1 orange slice - promotes happiness

☀️ A few blueberries - protection from negative energy and thoughts

☀️ 1 strawberry (sliced) - attracts luck and positive energy

☀️ A teaspoon of honey - to bind your intentions and to ‘sweeten’ your current situation and mood

How I Make It

💛 I like just putting all my fresh fruits (and honey) in after the tea has done steeping for a few minutes. Something about actually seeing the bright colorful fruits in my tea adds to the happy feeling the tea itself gives me.

💛 But if you don’t like little bits floating around in your tea you could put the tea bag and the fruit together and steep them at the same time. Allow it to steep for at least 10 minutes, then strain out the fruit.

💛 You could also make a bigger patch of this tea and drink it cold. Though i would suggest just steeping the fruit and tea together and then straining out the fruit first before storing it in your fridge.

Healing Ginger and Cinnamon Tea

Hi all! During these crazy pandemic times I’ve found myself feeling unwell both in my body and in my mind. To bring back some of my inner fire and health I’ve been making this tea twice a day and it’s become a huge part of my self care ritual. I don’t think this is a new or innovative recipe, but for those of you looking for some heat during these cold months it might be just what you need.

Healing Ginger And Cinnamon Tea

For this recipe you’ll need

- 1 inch of fresh ginger root, chopped (I eyeball it)

- 1 tsp cinnamon or two cinnamon sticks

- 12 oz water

- honey to taste

- 1 lemon wedge (optional)

Mix all ingredients in the hot water and let it steep for 5-10 minutes.

Cinnamon has incredible magical properties and can help with spirituality, love, protection, strength, and prosperity. It’s also incredible for your health, being linked to reduced risk of heart disease, lowering blood sugar, and fighting infection and inflammation. Cinnamon also corresponds with the solar plexus chakra.

Ginger corresponds with money, sex, passion, healing, love, and energy, and health wise it’s been shown to reduce nausea, relieve menstrual pain, lower blood sugar, reduce risk of heart disease, and is also an anti-inflammatory and fights infections, including respiratory infections. Ginger corresponds with the root chakra.

Drinking this tea really lights you up inside, it’s spicy and heated, but to me it feels like I’m giving myself a huge, warm hug. As I steep the tea I stir it clockwise and turn inward to focus on my intention and goals for drinking the tea and what I hope to accomplish for the day.

Anyway I hope this helps!

Anger dispersion magick tea

This can be used on you, or another person, but please make sure to ask said person before casting it towards them.

Supplies:

chamomile,

lavender,

honey or sugar,

amethyst, (optional)

agate, (optional)

and, if you want it to work quickly or if its an emergency, add ginger.

Directions:

if your supplies are limited, use a coffee filter as a tea bag. Put all your herbs into the bag, tie it off with a string or sew a thread to seal it. Boil water, pour water into cup, place bag into hot water and stir in sugar or honey.

All of this done with the intent to calm the anger of the one who drinks this tea.

Stir clockwise for good results and luck.

If you are using the stones, drop them into the tea, and stir with sugar or honey. (clean your crystals first) Strain stones and drink.

(edit: The intention you should infuse this with is lessening bouts of anger, and making it a lot more difficult to experience anger.)

Earl Grey Lavender London Fog

Earl grey lavender London fog

Since I needed Lavender for a recipe and for my Imbolc Simmer pot, and since I could only find a big bag of lavender, I decided to put the lavender to good use!

Ingredients: earl grey (loose or bags), lavender, vanilla extract, milk of your choosing, sugar

Brew your earl grey tea with half a teaspoon lavender (in a tea strainer if you have, otherwise once it's brewed you have some scooping to do). I'd brew it stronger than you usually do since the milk can "water" it down quite a bit. I made a cup of tea with 1 heaping teaspoon of loose Earl Grey and half a teaspoon lavender and let it steep for 5 minutes.

Next steam 100ml of milk or just heat it in a saucepan and add a fourth of a teaspoon, or half, of the vanilla extract. Up to you! I put the milk and vanilla extract in my Aeroccino 😅

Add sugar to your tea if you need it, add the milk and enjoy!

Womb-healing potion for painful periods

I’ve always had a bad relationship with my uterus and my period cramps are a fine depiction of it. As I try to love my womb, understand it and heal it, I still experience horrible periods, and I know a lot of us do. So I have perfected my own potion to not simply cast a spell but try and perpetually heal my uterus and our connection, one period at a time.

It should heal symptoms such as:

Cramps

Headaches

Foul mood (sadness, melancholy, anger, despair)

Lack of energy

image

Ingredients:

Cinnamon: happiness and healing.

Thyme: healing herb, health, courage, strength; banishes melancholy, negative vibrations, feelings of despair and hopelesness.

Ginger: natural anti-inflammatory, gets rid of cramps by relieving pressure

Lavender (in any form you may find): relaxation, peaceful dreams, purification, love; banishes, stress and headaches.

Cardamom: femenine energy, Venus, water signs (emotions), relaxes body, clears the mind and relieves indigestion.

Add to:

Boiling milk for nightime (sweet, calming and sleep-inducing. I add some vanilla extract for extra sweetness)

Boiling black tea for daytime (femenine energy, vitalizing, improves mood and activity, banishes negativity)

In order to prepare it with intent, feel your pain and visualize it fading away as you stirr clockwise, then communicate with the potion (you don’t need to be vocal) asking for healing, as you stirr counter-clockwise. I personally find myself begging very openly to ease my pain and grant my womb some peace.

Let it sit and then strain.

I recommend preparing it the moment before you drink it, instead of stocking it away for later, but it depends on how you feel your own intent. I also added dry white roses to the one in the pictures.

Jasper's Menstruation Easing Tea

Guess who started their motherfucking period agaaaaaain-

Anyway, in light of that, I'm gonna share my very simple tea recipe that I love.

This post is very much trans-inclusive, your local agender is suffering today and I am passing on my wisdom to future generations.

Jasper's Menstruation Easing Tea

[Image ID begin: A picture of the tea in question in a white mug. The mug has a cactus and the words "can't touch this on the outside. The tea is a golden brown color and has a spoon and a blue straw sticking out of it. The mug is on a coaster in front of my open grimoire, a fake leather notebook. A black gel ink pen is also nearby. Everything is sitting on a metal microwave stand that serves as my side table. The whole image is very blurry. End ID]

Ingredients

1 cup hot water

1 teabag honey vanilla chamomile herbal tea

honey: energy, healing, health, peace, sweetening (especially of one's own disposition)

chamomile: calming, energy, healing, health, peace

vanilla: calming, energy, peace

herbal tea: comfort, healing, warmth

1+ tablespoons sugar: sweetening (especially of one's own disposition)

alternative sweeteners: sweetening

Safety Warnings

I get irritated when edible spells or potions list off their ingredients but don't mention any safety or health risks whatsoever, so...despite these being generally safe and these side effects being unlikely, let's talk about some health risks!

Chamomile is an emmenagogue (my dyslexia despises that word) but is otherwise considered relatively safe, but it can cause vomiting in large (and I mean LARGE) doses. You should also avoid it if you're allergic to it, ragweed, daisies, marigolds, or chrysanthemums. Chamomile herbal tea is also known to interact with blood thinners and makes a great Potion of Shit Yourself.

Honey is generally safe, except for honey produced from rhododendron nectar - it contains a toxin that may cause heart problems, low blood pressure, and chest pain.

Vanilla may cause headaches or sleep problems if you're allergic to it, but otherwise it's safe.

How-To

Microwave the water however you'd like (I can hear many of my friends groaning as we speak). You can boil it in a pot or kettle if you're scared of your microwave. Our ideal temperature is around 212 degrees Fahrenheit (100 degrees Celsius).

In your cup, prepare it by dropping in the tea bag or loose ingredients (if you're not using a teabag, adjust it to taste) and the sugar (or another sweetener, I ain't judging). We want to put in so much sugar that we achieve launch.

When your water is hot enough, pour it into the cup and stir thoroughly to make sure that the sugar or other sweetener is completely incorporated.

Steep 3-5 minutes, then remove tea bag/loose leaves.

Wait for it to cool, then drink.
