COMPLETELY random thought about POTO but I was cross referencing vintage photos of syphilis progression for writing purposes- obviously when the book was written little was known of the disease and its affects other than that it could eventually lead to death- given Erik's description do you think it's possible Leroux was imagining a syphilis victim who got it from his mother in-uturo? It accounted for high infant deformality at the time.
Probably not, and he was just imagining a deformed person because that was OH SO SCARY back then it was a thought that crossed my mind.
As a tribute to Slaughter to Prevail's latest single "Viking" I decided to draw the twins and Cameron wearing their merch for the occasion.
Viking is definitely a banger and another favorite of mine.
I'm definitely making more art of Max as the creepy Hatsune Miku doll cuz I'm obsessed.
Y'all ever seen that creepy Hatsune Miku doll? Yeah, I want one but those are rare and expensive, so I'll just draw my girl Max as one.

I was looking through my gallery and I found a couple of art pieces I've received from friends either as gifts or just random acts of kindness from strangers on the internet. I love and appreciate all of these!
Both on top were done by @kinda0bs3ss3d of my oc Gabrielle and the one in the middle is Max which was done by @fleverian and finally the last two I have no idea who the artist is since they were a gift but their signature is on Jeffrey's right shoulder so if anyone knows the artist please let me know so I can credit them. Like I literally looked up the @ but couldn't find any results.
I will forever treasure these because I'm still obsessed with them to this day. 💚🖤💚🖤
Just realized this is essentially asking me to choose between Brink of Consciousness: Dorian Gray Syndrome and Mystery Legends: The Phantom of the Opera.
My answer is still Oscar but I am BEGGING them both to capture me

Is the phantom from mystery legends undead in your opinion?
Ohhhhh, definitely. I had the feeling the Phantom was some sort of (literal) ghost, but by the end of the game, we see that he can physically touch Evelina and vice versa. So maybe he's a different kind of undead..? The ending text of the game refers to him as "the Opera ghost", it might still be playing on his "Phantom of the Opera" nickname, but I'll consider it another support for this ghost-theory...
Not to mention Evelina was whisked away to the Phantom's realm after opening the invitation, and including his show of the mirrors, makes me think that he has some magical/mystical powers, which would also point to the undead/ghost thing.
I should also say...throughout the game, the Phantom has a pretty well-collected appearance, but at a certain point you can see a quick flash of his damaged mask + skin. I wonder if he's been hiding his actual appearance..?

I actually have a lot to say about my design choices for these two so we'll start with the phantom 🐺
- I made him a wolf because I wanted him to be big and intimidating, I wanted him to loom over Christine anytime I draw them together.
- Wolves also have beautiful singing voices when it comes to their howls. I also thought a wolf lended itself really well to the complex way the phantom "hunts" down and stalks those who stands in his way.
- They are also extremely pack oriented, likely to persih if they don't, at the very least, have a mate. I see the phantom's love for Christine as it is in the original context, but with the added sting; him trying to marry her is his last ditch effort to form the pack he never had.

-So for Christine, I made her a sheep for the obvious parallels of her being preyed upon by the Phantom, who is a wolf. This is classic storytelling in design and I feel like you already know the dynamic even if you don't know Phantom of the Opera.
-I feel like the way Christine sings would be very easy to see a sheep sing, especially in her vibrato. I just thought that aspect was a good fit, as well as her big curly hair :>
-Lastly, in the play her dress is almost purely blue with white accents, but I added the yellow to connect her with the Phantom's yellow eyes; showing that he is a part of her and the way she performs. It also reminded me of beauty and the beast, while not a direct connection, I feel like the title and concept lend itself well to Phantom as a story.

90% of photos from Phantom of the Opera are just Christine and the Phantom caressing. There is no issue with this 👍

Imagine if you had a neighbour who keeps performing songs from Phantom of the Opera in his apartment every night, by himself but accompanied by a parrot, which he has taught to sing Christine's part. Admittedly it's kind of obnoxious but you are far too baffled to even be properly annoyed. And also you don't want to confront someone with that kind of power and determination. So every once in a while you just hear this guy dramatically bellow
"SING FOR ME!"

I just read Phantom of the Opera today (By Gaston Leroux) and I feel really weird trying to engage with the online content because the book is my only reference for the story but I know the phantom is changed to be a proper romantic option in the musical/movie while in the book he is literally the toxic asshole to say he is going to kill himself if you break up with him. Except he is also gonna blow up an opera house and kill everyone else too.
So keep being taken aback by seeing so many people be like "Christine should have chosen the Phantom" "The Phantom was so romantic" because i am just here like "YOU MEAN THE DERANGED ABUSIVE MURDERER MAN?!?!" "WHAT ARE YOU GUYS TALKING ABOUT?!?!?"
