This Is So True Tho - Tumblr Posts

I think people would armchair diagnose bad people with cluster B disorders much less if psychiatric disorders hadn't all been given names by ableists who of course picked the traits most unberarable to "sane" people to name them rather than, you know, the ways it affects the people that have them. It's like, when doctors are all "this disorder gives you extremely low self esteem. and it's called the Selfish Fucking Asshole Disorder" or "this disorder makes you want to die so bad. and it's called the Hysteric Bitch Disorder" or "this disorder disconnects you from your peers. and it's called the Insane Evil Cunt Disorder" and so on and so forth, so of course you have people going "oh, this person is a selfish fucking asshole, they MUST have Selfish Fucking Asshole Disorder! this further proves that all people with this disorder are like that in the first place!" Do You See It

I like how fanon Solangelo is Nico saying the most outlandish things and Will scolding him, but canon Solangelo is basically Will saying something and Nico being like “wtf you can’t just say that.”

Anyways, Nico is a high empathy autistic and Will is a low empathy autistic.

In Choso's mind, there is no such thing as good or bad. The only thing that matters to him is his brothers. If Yuji wants to defeat Sukuna, he will be there with him. If, for some reason, Yuji turns into a mass murderer, he will also be there with him. This strange moral compass means Choso can be the enemy of mankind in one minute and the savior of humanity in the next.

Oh I love how this article defines Choso and his stand in JJK universe. Simple, accurate, objective, refreshing, unique, and nothing but the truth. Offering the what-ifs scenarios that are so intriguing.

@somewheremillo is this enough to convince you to read the books/hj

i've started reading tvl and no amount of posts telling me there's a "huge tonal shift" could have prepared me for this HUGE TONAL SHIFT this is the funniest fucking thing i've ever read it genuinely goes like:

louis, narrator of iwtv: as i wandered the streets of paris, i wished most of all for death. i had called to god, to satan, anyone, to find meaning in it all. but for an evil creature such as myself there is no place in this world. there can be no love where this evil lies. it was as though a veil separated me from all that could be good and righteous. i did not deserve to love and be loved in return, not by claudia, lestat, armand. to attempt it would be a sisyphean task, a fools tale. and yet...... the need for hole from armand was so great. greater was only the need for........ living human blood.

lestat, narrator of tvl: hey guys, my name is lestat, you may know me because i'm really hot and sexy. english isn't my first language so sorry if i make any mistakes!! okay here's my story: after rotting beneath the earth for decades, my hot and sexy body has finally risen from the ground. i used to be depressed, but now i'm slutting it up again in the 20th century! first thing i did was get some (hot and sexy) new clothes and then wore them while riding my (hot and sexy) motorcycle and listening to bach on my sony walkman. while i was watching this super niche indie film (you've probably not heard of it) "apocalypse now" i realized that i'm so evil that i shouldn't exist. but then i realized what could make me deserve to live on this planet: rock n roll music.

Question, are you going to block people who don’t reblog your content?

<long post>

You see, it's not solely about my content, dear anon. If you put it that way, it makes me look like an entitled cunt, and not the positive kind (ref: Hyunjin @ YSL, god I love him).

Short answer: yes and no. Allow me to put this into detailed context because apparently the reasons still don't make sense to some people. I hope this answers some questions, so please take a minute to read.

Question, Are You Going To Block People Who Dont Reblog Your Content?

MEMOIRS OF A FICTION WRITER

Chapter 1: "Hello, Stranger"

Sometimes, folks migrate here from AO3 or from other social media platforms, or reactivate their blogs after a long period of hiatus, which is more than fine! You don't have to write an autobiography in your bio: If any of this is the case for you, I kindly suggest making a little introductory post and pinning it to your blog so that content creators are comfortable with you following them. I've seen people do it and it personally helped me a lot.

Ex: "CB97%, born in the '90s, screams about SKZ a lot". That's literally it.

Now off I go.

As I explained here, when somebody follows me, I check their bio, feed - and if it's public also their likes and who they are following. It gives me an idea whether;

a. they are real adults - not a bot that might get my blog down, or worse a minor. b. they are (also) interested in stayblr content - can be multifandom among other things they enjoy, doesn't matter. c. their blog is intended for reading/writing fanfiction. Doesn't have to be strictly this - any fandom-related content is fine. More on this later. d. they are a decent human being that's here to chill and lose their minds over Stray Kids like the rest of us, and not the lying scheming snake that tarnishes the good name of Slytherin.

One more thing that makes fanfiction writers freak the fuck out is their work getting reposted either here or on other platforms. Not too long ago, I witnessed an ENTIRE series of mine translated and put on Wattpad. When I see you meaningfully engage with creators on your feed, it somewhat alleviates that panic for me.

I'm fully aware that there is no way to 100% confirm any of this, but it at least puts my mind at ease. I'm not asking you to give me your social security number, I just want both of us to have a safe and fun experience. With me so far?

Chapter 2: "How Does It Feel? (Let Me Know)"

First, the reason that matters more to me: I do what I do with unhealthy amounts of passion, and that's on me. Nobody's putting a gun to my head to write stories, or to work this hard to craft one, but here's the thing: I'm a very emotionally-charged person. I'm fascinated by the human psyche and desires. I write to help some of my wounds to turn into scars; I write about the things that make me happy, the things I long for, and the things I miss. Every time I write something, the ulterior motive (or more like the wishful thinking) I have is to make you feel something, be it happiness, lust, sorrow, or anger... Anything. I want you to see things when you read my work. I want you to feel the texture of the thing I'm describing. I want your face to get flushed because you're experiencing second-hand embarrassment, second-hand arousal, or second-hand fury. I sincerely hope my stories can open a new window for you, or at least push the ones that were only slightly ajar. In a world where everything is going to shit, I want my words to help induce some empathy, not only for the goodness we have in our hearts, but also for the darker shades we all harbor.

I don't write for you. I write for myself and share it with you, hoping you're also in the forest to hear it when that tree falls.

Just yesterday, I got a very sweet private ask telling me how much they like one of my stories called The Zone. While I'm still tremendously grateful for this, I wish they said that in a reblog. It's not about showering creators with compliments; it's about you showing appreciation by sharing (Read: "Yo, check out this cool thing I found!"). When we see reblogs in our notifications, with or without commentary attached, it automatically sends a signal to our brains with the caption "This person enjoyed your work and deemed it worthy of sharing." I wish I was kidding.

NOTHING gives me more happiness than going through reader experiences with my coffee, telling me how much they enjoyed certain aspects, the feelings they went through, the immersiveness of the story if applicable, the general yelling about some characters and their motives... I feel this gigantic ball of gratefulness and self-fulfillment in the pit of my stomach grow even bigger and it makes me wanna create even more. It gives me direction regarding where I wanna go with my future work.

And I'm saying this as a person on anti-depressants. Therefore, fuck western medicine, reader commentaries are where it's at.

Question, Are You Going To Block People Who Dont Reblog Your Content?

Now, onto the logistics. This is a request I put at the beginning of each of my work.

💭Reblogs & comments are always appreciated and please keep in mind they are the ultimate motivation fuel.

It's pretty straightforward. Tumblr is a platform that works on reblogs. It helps the original poster be seen and reach a wider audience. It's not just about "clout"; it also helps like-minded people find each other. Because the icons look similar, I feel like some folks think reblogging is the same thing as retweeting, but it's not. Reblogging on Tumblr is equal to liking stuff on other social media platforms. That's literally the bare minimum of engagement. If for whatever reason you're not reblogging things, commenting is a close second you can engage in. Liking things on this platform does nothing to creators because you know who else is liking stuff? BOTS.

Chapter 3: "Step Out Of Them Voices"

I can't read your mind. I haven't mastered that yet. This is where I expand on the following from an author perspective:

c. their blog is intended for reading/writing fanfiction. Doesn't have to be strictly this - any fandom-related content is fine. More on this later.

In my Tumblr experience so far, I've seen people not reblog fics for a variety of reasons, the most common one being "I feel awkward/anxious/I don't know what to say". This is a completely valid way to feel. I'm a grown-ass adult, and even I feel intimidated by people around here from time to time, but I can 325% guarantee you that even a random keyboard smash that comes from you means SO MUCH to writers. Nothing you say is ever weird, silly, too short, too long, too awkward, or whatever negative thing you think it is. I personally cherish every single word, and actually the longer and (for the lack of a better word) "the weirder", the better. Like fuck yeah, write an entire dissertation about how you were in your feelings at 4 AM in the morning. Curse at that one character and how you can't stand them. That's my shit right there. You still don't feel comfortable doing it in a reblog? Just do a blank reblog, and send an ask to the author. You're still gonna make their whole entire day.

The only time you shouldn't say anything is when you don't have anything nice to say. It goes without saying that you're gonna get yourself blocked by multiple people because people talk amongst themselves, if you catch my drift. You don't enjoy something? No harm in leaving quietly.

Appendix: "What In The Fresh Fuck, Shawty?"

The only valid reason a.k.a "I'm new to Tumblr, and I don't know what to do": It's more than fine! Just ask. Nobody's going to shame you for not knowing how to navigate a new platform because they didn't know it at some point themselves. For starters, if you're in the process of setting up your blog, please indicate that either in your bio, or make a small introductory post mentioning that and pin it - this is to help establish you're a real adult person and not some recently-opened bot blog. Then use Tumblr as intended by filling out your bio, putting up a profile picture of something you like, reblogging things, and having fun!

Now, onto the reasons some folks think are valid, but are not.

"I don't owe anybody any personal information about myself": Again, nobody's asking for your social security number to get a loan in your name, but if you would like to keep consuming content intended for adults, yes you do. If you're not comfortable with putting your exact age, just kindly provide a range like "over 25, born in the '80s..." either in your bio or in a pinned post.

"I'm entitled to my own opinions and I reblog your fics, why am I still blocked?": Of course you are entitled to your own opinions. I just don't want to interact with toxic people and certainly do not want them consuming my content.

"I leave likes to your fics, that's interaction": It's not because it doesn't have any meaning. If I see you consecutively liking all 12 chapters of my work, you're clearly enjoying it, and the least you can do is reblog them in return. If you're uncomfortable reblogging things to your main blog, you can always create a separate blog for your fanfiction activities.

"I don't reblog fics because this is a gfx/fanart/XYZ fandom/my personal blog": Again, not a valid excuse for the reasons stated above.

"I don't reblog fics because it doesn't go with my aesthetic": I simply have no words for this one because my millennial brain refuses to comprehend the concept. This is not a diss, I genuinely don't understand what that means.

If you made it this far, massive props to you, fam. Hope you enjoy your STAY here.
