Spoilers for Watching and Dreaming!

After my fifth rewatch of this episode, I noticed a detail that maybe made me cry. Just a bit. As we all know at the start of the episode Luz, King, and Eda are all stuck in their worst nightmares due to the Collector. The one I want to focus on is Luz's dream.

Now I could rant a ton about this, the details the emotion, but I'll keep this to a minimum. Luz finds Amity first, and Amity starts to try and attack. Luz runs off and ends up with Willow, who is also aggressive and threatening. Then Gus, who passive aggressively attacks her. Then there is Hunter. Now this one is different. Hunter is simply broke down. But the main thing is when the rest of the group, Gus Willow and Amity, start to attack, Hunter does nothing. He simply stays crouched down on the floor, crying.

After thinking about it this means so much more than just he is simply sad. Luz's worst nightmares for each of her friends are exactly as the nightmare goes. She is afraid Amity, Gus, and Willow will feel betrayed and turn and fight against her. But with Hunter, she may be afraid of this, but she is more scared that he will break down, stop fighting. Luz is more scared that her brother will finally snap, than for him to attack her. Literally sobbing help 😭

One year ago today, The Owl House released its final episode. Watching and Dreaming was bittersweet, such a fun watch but I cried so hard when it was over

I found out about TOH a little over two years ago, during season 2's original run. I was in a really rough place, and TOH changed my life. If I'm being honest, it probably irreversibly changed who I am as a person.

Many close friendships were formed through that show, and when I find myself in a shitty mood, I look through fanart or rewatch the show or just interact with it.

One year has passed since The Owl House ended, and my life has gotten better in many ways, and worse in others. I've changed, gotten new interests, new friends, but I still feel a deep connection to the silly witch show. Huge thanks to Dana and the rest of the Owl crew for bringing this wonderful show to life. I've been a fan for 3 years, and many have been for longer.

there’s no way this was by accident.

sometimes I can watch toh episodes in my dreams. Usually they are obviously not the real episodes, like when Shrek appeared in Lost in Language. But last night I dreamed that I was watching Through the Looking Glass Ruins and it was perfect to the episode. All of the lines were right.

you could say I was Watching and Dreaming.

(that was a bad pun)

I just realized that the message you get if you put the titles of the final 3 TOH episodes together is a message from Luz to Eda and King.

The message is “Watching and Dreaming, For the future, thanks to them”. When Luz was sinking in the in-between she was literally thinking she should thank them. And now, thanks to them, Luz is watching and dreaming for her own future. She’s been able to embrace her weirdness and find people who she fits in with. And at the very end, Luz gets to thank Eda and King for everything.

Excuse me while I go cry in a corner.

Titan Luz in 2024? More likely than you’d think. This is a redraw of a piece I drew around when the final season came out, and the improvement is wild to me! Still need to work on backgrounds though lmao

I also love how queer this show is being. Like, the first episode of s3 had the person with the non-binary nails, all the bi pride stuff and Camila being so proud, and even now with the flannel around her waist we can always see the little rainbow heart pin, she’s so supportive and it’s so gay here, also we love a they/them especially as a love interest especially plot-important and even when they constantly end up in unfortunate situations.

Give him some slack, he literally had 5 seconds to find an excuse. And he's just a little guy! Not like he tried to kill you and everyone you know or anything

I've always thought he acted like a child...
