; this !! I have a varying opinion on touch, but it's generally a no. Especially hugs. I had a friend who was the same. And I remember neither of us liked our picture being taken, being touched and especially being hugged. BUT we felt left out since all our friends would hug and such when saying hi and bye, etc !! So we did the most normal thing and created a dance routine to say hello and another to say bye, like a secret handshake but cooler and it did involve me lifting her above my head and spinning and I did succeed. I don't know why this touch was fine but hugging and holding hands was just too much, but the dance was great and multiple sweet old ladies clapped or laughed fondly if we did it in public so. Respect boundaries, even if they don't always make sense

reblog if you think not liking physical touch is "valid" and if someone tell you they don't like being touched you will stop immediately and not tell them a hug isn't gonna kill them and then disrespect their boundaries

So, gonna ramble about OCs here:

I have this one OC, Tip, who’s touch averse. Two of her family members are touch starved. (One flips between the two, so it’s common courtesy amongst them all just to ask before you touch somebody.)

Canonically, Tip goes out for long stretches of time to sell her goods as a trader, meaning that her adoptive family doesn’t see her a whole lot in any given few months.

The idea popped into my head that the younger touched starved person (Mint) would probably be the kind to try to tackle-hug somebody. (It wouldn’t work too well, considering he’s as light as a kitten.)

My point being: Tip arrives home, Mint rushes over and is barely able to skid to a stop in front of her because he almost forget to ask and he really doesn’t want to make her uncomfortable.

Tip rolls her eyes, nods, and then is immediately tackled to the ground.
