Day 34 of posting cute creatures we found on our field trip:

Are spiders considered cute? Well, goldenrod crab spider (Misumena vatia) is definitely one of the prettiest spiders! This is a female, because she has a big round butt (called abdomen). Males have a more rectangular abdomen and are smaller than the girls. These spiders are harmless to humans, but not to pollinators! Their beautiful color is actually a camouflage. They hide in yellow flowers and hunt insects that come to pollinate them. Like this:

This one is a male. See how tiny and well camouflaged he is?
I really like crab spiders because of their unique colors. They seem very friendly compared to other spiders, since they are more rounded and have shorter legs. They can’t jump or anything and they rarely bite (my dumb ass was catching them and playing with them as a kid and I never got bitten, but it can happen), so they are safe to be around.

Goretober Day 26: Puppet On A String Seems someone was caught in a web of lies. -------------------------------
Thank god I finished this one, this was honestly very difficult to draw. Especially the chest. And at the same time I felt really fucking bad while making this.. especially because it's a character from something I'm apart of that I absolutely love.. :(
This was also kinda based on a Ref Base I saw somewhere, if I find it I'll leave a link to it. (Please don't assume I'm stealing, I do not intend to do that and won't tolerate theft. Please forgive me.)
Hey! These characters aren't mine, and belong to my friend, @devischaotic . The same friend who owns the characters I drew during Days 10 and 14, and the one I mentioned in the description of Day 12.
GT 2023 Day 21: Arachnophobia

"My my, time to feed the spiders..~"
Side note: Though this one was a pain in the ass to sketch, in the end it became easier to trace over and color, it was worth it! Also, the pose is a reference to an animated music video that became popular on Youtube, Tiktok and through other animations. Think you can guess?
Truffle Cookie belongs to Devsisters.
Content/trigger wanting to anyone with phobia of spiders or bugs but look at what I found on my walk today as well as a mf spider on my window

Ducks chilling and vibing under the shade it’s too cute

New oc! I might make them my sona. Nonbinary flag colors accidentally but I love the palette! Not spider inspired but is getting an arachnophobia trigger warning because of the many eyes and sets of limbs. Any pronouns for the oc.

Chaotic, friendly, a little scary

Might overthrow the government
Oh yeah, and their name is Fen.
old timelapse of a Mastigoproctus tohono excavating a burrow I started for her. I miss keeping vinegaroons, there’s really nothing quite like them… although I wouldn’t want to have this particular species again—a seasonal desert lifestyle means they spend much of the year inactive and not eating.

spider eye arrangements
Rare images of a leafcutter bee sharing its nest with a wolfspider:

These photographs were taken in Queensland, Australia, by an amateur photographer named Laurence Sanders.

The leafcutter bee (Megachile macularis) can be seen fetching freshly-cut leaves, which she uses to line the inner walls of her nest. The wolfspider moves aside, allowing the bee to enter the nest, and then simply watches as the leaf is positioned along the inner wall.

After inspecting the nest together, they return to their resting positions -- sitting side-by-side in the entryway to the nest.
The bee seems completely at ease in the presence of the wolfspider, which is normally a voracious predator, and the spider seems equally unfazed by the fact that it shares its burrow with an enormous bee.
This arrangement is completely unheard of, and the images are a fascinating sight to behold.
