Here’s my rough sketch of Arachne, from the famous Greek Myth.
Bugs always be in a hurry, I ain't never seen a bug just walking casually, they always runnin like they got shit to do and places to be. I feel like they're tryin to make the most of their short lives but, my man, what's the point if ya don't stop and smell the roses, ya know?

in a battle between horrible life and sweet death i rivaled with the likes of a small crabbish demon sent from the world of predatory arachnids. Its mostly harmless but the fangs on that man, the hungry eyes and the distress of a maniacal wave of hysteria that took over as soon as i neared the bathtub.
i need this tub little man, im sorry
in the heat of battle many weapons have been rendered useless, even those which stood to do no harm, only momentarily restrain the enemy enough so that he may be flung out into the wider fields of the world where it is surely more fitting to settle, in a barn perhaps or a nook of a tree’s branch. the cups fell, the paper — oh the paper.
in one instant, after a tall cup had been discarded onto the floor, in my last ditch efforts to turn the tide i reached for the piece of paper that stood to be a common ground beneath his legs, oh how i regret that now.
i touched him and he freaked, spasming his little limbs in every direction, one belonging to the y-axis in which i unfortunately safely resided just a moment prior, which left me no choice but to relinquish the paper to the pit of hell that is the damp bathtub, to which the spider fell after soaring the sky for a small moment
i had not anticipated this as a victory, but as it turned out i had accidentally fucking waterboarded the spider, look at this shit
the paper isnt coming up easily, so ill have to pull it up with my own digits if i want a chance to save him

I think I might be alone on this one, but I find cobwebs oddly comforting… like, to know that something is here just creating. Spiders spend all their time creating webs. They create beautiful patterns effortlessly, yet it is so commonly destroyed without a second thought. These small creatures spend their whole lifespans creating beautiful art, and it is seen as scary or gross. Idk I’m just tired I think.

inktober day 2, Spider. So I drew Arachnae. Not my best work, but got me out of my comfort zone. lol this is probably gonna go a mythology route a lot...
The Soliph, a race of intelligent arthropods. They are powerful, and very adaptable, and are worshippers of thought and celestial bodies. They are a stark contrast with most alien designs, even among the rare arthropods. Designed initially after spiders, but new design direction is the heavily understudied Solfugid. These arachnid-like aliens evolved the use of 4 arms as a hand of sorts, and went on from there. They are large in stature, and and relatively strong. They can move very quickly. Most of their organs are very redundant.
Notes: digestion not fully described. Cancerous biomass is destroyed, and the cells put in enzyme mixtures to assist absorption of broken nutrient. This means when they have their prey being digested, less energy is lost- as food breaks down externally, cancerous biomass absorbs it in the mixture, then they drink the remaining mixture. Fat filter catches metals, sends them to oil glands to make an oil that reflects sunlight. They send out waste through an oil gland in bottom of body. Edits: they have oil glands all over that waste is sent to from the entire body. They use it for defense and waste removal. Oil dies and falls off after 30 minutes in general. They are no longer large, their highest stature is 5 feet in human measurements. They relied on foraging more than hunting on early evolution. They do not break down cancerous biomass specifically now, but routinely replace parts of the body by first destroying it with a separate organ. Prevents cancer without me needing to understand cancer.
