Flowering rush or grass rush (lat. Butomus umbellatus).
A perennial herbaceous plant growing along the shores of reservoirs among other tall marsh grass. Dry rhizomes contain 60% starch, 14% protein, and 4% fat. From one kilogram of rhizomes, 250 grams of flour are obtained, from which bread or tortillas are then baked.
I would also like to note that flowering rush is an excellent honey plant, and its flowers can have a pleasant vanilla aroma.🌿

Многолетнее травянистое растение, растущее вдоль берегов водоёмов среди другой высокой болотной травы. В сухих корневищах содержится 60 % крахмала, 14 % белка, 4 % жира. Из одного килограмма корневищ получается 250 граммов муки, из которой потом пекут хлеб или лепешки. Также хочется отметить, что сусак является отличным медоносом, а его цветки могут иметь приятный ванильный аромат.🌿

Old-World arrowhead or arrowhead (lat. Sagittaria sagittifolia).
A perennial growing in shallow waters of lakes, rivers, and ponds. It got its name due to the shape of the leaves resembling arrows.
The root of this plant is rich in starch therefore it is used in cooking in boiled and baked form. It tastes like potatoes, peanuts, or even chestnuts when cooked. They are also enjoyed by waterfowl, fish, and some mammals, such as muskrats.🌿
Стрелолист обыкновенный, болотник (лат. Sagittaria sagittifolia).
Многолетник, растущий по мелководьям озер, рек и прудов. Название получил, благодаря форме листьев, напоминающих стрелы. Корень данного растения богат крахмалом, поэтому используется в кулинарии в вареном и запечённом виде. В приготовленном виде по вкусу схож с картофелем, арахисом или даже каштаном. Им также лакомятся водопавующие птицы, рыбы и некоторые млекопитающие, например, ондатры.🌿
