Way Of Kings - Tumblr Posts

attempted to draw jasnah :)
So I recently convinced my friend @honeysucklethornsandalligtrhorns to start the storm light Archive. This is their first cosmere book. I am so excited for them but I also feel like I just got another person hooked on a drug. They mentioned Szeth and it took all my strength to not say “SZETH SON SON VALLANO WORE APPLE BOTTOM JEANS ON THE DAY HE WAS TO KILL A KING”.
This is such a Shallan post.

sylphrena!💙 this has been in my wips for too long.. I’m always meaning to do more cosmere art but I’ve gotta catch up on the books first 😭 most of the way through rhythm of war rn, I’m nearly there!!
Honeslty this is my one of favorite thing about these stories, how those characters are mentioned and you can find them elsewhere. And sometimes they do stuff like Gaz or the slaver who's name I forgot, or sometimes they don't, their life just continues away from the protagonists, like Hav.
Fun stormlight easter egg!
You remember Hav? A minor character, Kaladin's mentor when he first enlists in the army?

In Words of Radiance, when Kaladin meets Zahel and thinks about his past as an ex soldier (close but no cigar buddy), he wonders if Hav wound up in a monastery

Hav is not in a monastery. When Shallan is out on her first foray for the ghostbloods, we learn he's only a couple warcamps over guarding Amaram's manor!

And him and Kaladin never ended up seeing each other. Shame really.
Either one is a good start, Mistborn is nice and self contained (or at least each series started has been finished), then has novels already written set in the future of the world, another full series. Stormlight (way of kings) has larger books, a very in-depth world, whose last one comes out this year. Considering you enjoyed Tress, and I assume have read/are reading Warbreaker, you could do either one, and enjoy both.
Mistborn I would say is a better jumping off point, as the full series is about as long as maybe two stormlight books, and then you can go to its next series or to Stormlight.
Also don't forget about Yumi when you get the chance.
Good luck finding me!

Hey. I’m kinda late to the Cosmere Universe party? Anyway, I decided to start with the standalone novels (I read Tress of the Emerald Sea last year and really liked it). I’m so intimidated by the amount of books Brandon Sanderson has written (this is coming from a huge terry pratchett fan). Should I read Mistborn next or Way of Kings? I really have no idea where to start!

I am SO sorry in advance, part of a stormlight pin up calendar I made for my friend
