FremiMay Day 20: Liyue
This is related to a previous FremiMay post where I made an entire au with lore.
In that post I made a very brief mention of how I think Freminet's idol after escaping the Fatui would be Chongyun. They have similar personalities but in this au Freminet would see Chongyun as someone he wants to be as strong and kind as. Freminet doesn't have to worry about accidentally hurting Chongyun because cryo is one of the only things that can actually stop Freminet when he's feral.(So their relationship is similar to the Collei/Amber kind)
But for the Liyue prompt I decided to do the OTP(Xingyun) with the experiment au Freminet. Fremi is just taking a nap.
I gave a very brief color just to have identifiers of who is who.
I'll likely spruce it up and actually make it look more than a sketch sometime-- but like I've said previously. The purpose of these daily challenges is for me to get confident in sharing my art. And sometimes getting the art out is way more important than making something perfect.

From an AU I made in which Chongyun receives a pyro vision and becomes a member of the Fatui, and Xingqiu/Chongyun end up becoming friends > enemies > lovers...... it's really good I swear (continues to not write it)

Oh sure! Thank you for asking! I haven't talked about that fic in quite a while hhhaha :')
I'm not sure how much you've poked around on my AO3, so I'll start from the top: My Second Verse is my 90k+ word canon-compliant xingyun relationship study. I wrote it as my very first long-fic because I wanted to explore Xingqiu and Chongyun's relationship, the ways I interpret their compatibility with each other, etc.
The overarching plot is sparked by Xingqiu receiving a request from Yae Publishing House for a sequel to his main book series. In chapter 1, Xingqiu asks Chongyun to act as his muse for his next book and Chongyun agrees (since that request is pretty vague as-is anyways.) From there the two spend a lot of time together working through their core character traits; Xingqiu is forced to realize he's a self-righteous prick, and Chongyun is forced to realize the way he lives his life suppressing his yang energy is unsustainable.
Things explored in this fic include:
What does Xingqiu value in Chongyun?
What does Chongyun value in Xingqiu?
What can these two grow to learn from a relationship with each other?
What does it mean to love someone? What does it mean to feel lonely?
It's pretty slow-burn with a few sword-fighty action scenes speckled in, but it's mostly introspective drama and alternating POV. Currently the fic is marked as "unfinished" because I had plotted a whole second half from the part where I stopped, but I've been on hiatus from this fic since I hit some severe writer's block :'''') If you're the type to only read finished fic, the fic as-is currently wraps up nicely! I've also received some feedback that the fic doesn't actually go the direction that some people thought it would, if that's something that you're into.

When it comes to art, I do have a WIP or two sitting somewhere deep in my folders. I haven't touched them in a long time and I hadn't made immediate plans to work on them, but I can share the sketches if you'd like :')
When it comes to future chapters, I have bits and snippets of LOTS of chapters sitting in my outline document; the whole fic was basically plotted out from the start, but I keep adding chapters in between other chapters because I'm insane HHAHA I'm still kinda figuring out if I'm up for the challenge of writing out the rest, but I might share those snippets and get some opinions/feedback if there's a lot of interest for stuff like that?
But for you, anon, I am happy to share the general outline I've been sitting on for the 2nd half of MSV. Basically, I've finished maybe 2 arcs out of 5. Here's some thoughts for the other 3; spoilers past the break below!
Arc 3 - Xingqiu/Chongyun's Relationship: Xingqiu and Chongyun's relationship doesn't go as simply as "let's just promise to be brave together"; they have to actually confront their individual issues (Chongyun's emotions and Xingqiu's vulnerability,) and it doesn't go smoothly. [At least 3 chapters are in this arc -- the trek back to Liyue Harbor, sharing nightmares in the dark, and overcompensating for their individual flaws (this last one might be 2-3 chapters actually....)]
Arc 4 - Xingqiu/Chongyun's Introspection: The two end up taking a break from their relationship to learn more about themselves, with some help from others. [I have 2 long chapters plotted here and 1 "conclusion" chapter: Chongyun meets Albedo, Xingqiu meets Qiqi, and the bittersweet reunion chapter.]
Act 5 - Xingqiu/Chongyun's Reunion: Xingqiu invites Chongyun to Inazuma for the delivery of his finished manuscript... except Xingqiu isn't satisfied with the ending. [Number of chapters is fuzzier here, but right now I have maybe 3-4: a bonding montage in Inazuma, another opportunity to gain wisdom from new friends, and a final conclusion chapter that puts everything they learned about themselves and relationships together.] Thank you again for the ask, anon!!
