Headcanon + little scenario: s/o who is scared of the dark, but pretends their not

He won't believe a word you're saying, seeing right through your lies. No matter how convincing you are

If you are outside, he'll try to make a fire or find some other light source if you really can't stand being in the dark anymore

Though, he'll tease you (I call it 'gently teasing' tho), suddenly grabbing your arm and doing some kind of 'boo' sound, pointing out how much you're shaking, sth like that

When you tell him to stop, he'll just chuckle and apologize. Doesn't mean he'll stop teasing tho, he'd only stop when he really makes you upset

He'll start to ignore you're words when you say how you're not scared of the dark, after some time

Will definitely offer you his hand, will probably try to get you to hold his hand if you refuse. Maybe by saying how scared he is himself or something

He'll find your pouty face absolutely endearing whenever you deny you're scared

He'll probably make up an excuse for everything he does to comfort you, so you can except it without having to say you're scared or you wanted him to do it

Your sweaty palm gripped tightly onto Xingqiu's as you walked through the woods, the darkness seeming to swallow you both. Not even the moon gave you a bit of its light reflection as it was new moon, the stars being the only thing visible to you.

"You don't have to be scared, my love.", the blue-haired said, his tone being the same as always and his gaze not leaving the path that laid before you. "I-I'm not scared-! What makes you think that?", you looked to the side to try and make it more difficult for your lover to read your face, even though he didn't need to in order to know you were lying.

Xingqiu chuckled, it was a warm chuckle that made you feel a bit safer for just a moment, like it always did. He turned his head to look at you and laid a hand on his chest, right over his heart, "As long as I am here with you, nothing shall happen to you. Nothing shall threaten you in any type of way."

You glanced at him, seeing a confident and yet teasing smile on his face. A slight blush made its way onto your cheeks and you pouted slightly. "Don't need you to protect me. I ain't afraid of anything...", you muttered under your breath, but still loud enough for your partner to hear.

His smile only grew wider a bit as it became silent between you two. You, however, were too focused on trying to make out silhuettes and calm your heart that was almost beating at the speed of light, to notice how the blue-haired started to plot something in his head.

As a chilly night breeze drifted by, made your hair fly and made you shiver slightly, is when he put his plan into action. Xingqiu put his free hand on your shoulder, "Boo." You jumped and smacked his hand away after letting out a short scream, sending your lover a glare. "Xingqiu!", you yelled, "Whyyyyyy??"

He chuckled once again, "I'm sorry, love. It was impossible for me to not use this opportunity." You just pouted and clung on his arm.

It was a quite surprising sight to see (Y/N) walking around the funfair inspired festival in Liyue Harbor, as many saw him as someone who would rather spend his time at a more quiet place like Xingqiu did. Especially considering the fact that the funfair was designed for children.

But there they were, walking through the crowd of kids and parents, looking out for interesting looking stalls while holding hands as to not loose the other amongst the people.

Xingqiu surpressed a chuckle as he saw the excitement in his boyfriend's eyes. (Y/N) never really showed strong emotions and mostly kept his voice rather low. He didn't surpress it or anything. That was just who he was, a calm and gentle young man.

The (Y/HC)-haired's eyes widened as he saw a gigantic turtle plushy, hanging on a stall. It was love at first sight. Xingqiu followed his gaze as soon as he noticed it, "Would you like to take a closer look at that stall, love?", he asked with a smile.

(Y/N) only nodded before he made his way over to said stall, careful to not just drag Xingqiu with him in the process. The blue-haired quietly chuckled to himself from the lack of words he recieved as an answer as he followed his boyfriend.

As they got closer they noticed the stacked cups at the back of the stall, an easy game to win, (Y/N) thought. Needless to say that he knocked them all over with one throw.

He may or may not asked Xingqiu to wet the ball to make it heavier. We all know how light those balls are.

"What an amazing throw, young man! What would you like? You can choose whatever."

Without hesitating the male pointed at the ridiculously huge turtle, a bright sparkle glistening in his eyes.

With a gentle smile on his face, (Y/N) carried his award to a free table next to a food stall. Xingqiu couldn't keep his eyes from the satisfied look on his lover's face, trying to hold back any teasing until they sat down.

The blue-haired intertwined his fingers as he rested his elbows on the table, gazing at the (Y/HC)-haired with teasing eyes. "You know, you look really adorable right now.", he said. (Y/N) payed him little mind, he was used to being teased. So those little words weren't enough to break his calm demeanor.

Xingqiu tilted his head slightly in amusement before leaning over the table. He cupped (Y/N)'s cheeks with his hands, soflty pinching and pulling them, "You really are the cutest thing, aren't you?", he cooed in a voice some people use to talk to dogs.

"Hmmm!", the (Y/EC)-eyed hummed in annoyance and embarrassment. He could feel his cheeks heating up as he tried to get his lover's hands off his face. Xingqiu didn't let go though, continuing to squish (Y/N) cheeks, laughing, "So that causes you to react! I shall write that one done for future reference."

"I don't know what you're talking about!", (Y/N) almost yelled when he was finally able to free his face, rubbing his cheeks. The blue-haired covered his mouth as his laugh died down in a soft chuckle, "It's been quite a long time since I last saw that precious little blush adoring your face, love."

"I'm not blushing!", (Y/N) covered his face with the plush turtle's head, "It's because of the pinching.", he tried to convince his boyfriend, slowly building up a facade to cover up how flustered he was.

"I know, love.", Xingqiu chuckled out.

Short bonus scenario:

The moon stood proudly in the middle of the sky when the two of them laid in bed, holding each other close. They weren't tired at all, surprisingly, even though it was the middle of the night. In a soft whisper they talked about the things they were wondering about. Little theories they had in their heads.

"You ever thought about clapping?", (Y/N) asked which caused Xingqiu to stiffle a laugh as he looked up from his position on (Y/N)'s chest, "What do you mean exactly?", he asked in return.

"We basically hit ourselves when we find something good."

The blue-haired smiled at his lover, amused, "I suppose you are right, love. But I cannot help but wonder how that thought entered that cute little mind of yours."

Xingqiu brought his hand to (Y/N)'s cheek, slowly brushing his thumb over it. Even in the darkness, the blue-haired could see the red hue that spread across his boyfriend's cheeks in return. The (Y/EC)-eyed glanced to the side, hoping XIngqiu didn't notice how flustered he got over such a simple thing. "D-did you just call me stupid?", he asked to distract Xingqiu's mind even further from his expression.

The golden-eyed let out a short chuckle, "No, no...I'd never do that, my love.", he moved himself so he could plant a little kiss on (Y/N)'s chin.

Xingqiu: dude

Chongyun: im busy rn

Irl, I CLING to my friends backpack when going up stairs. They terrify me. ;w;

I am a clingy person, and if I could, would hug Chongyun like a koala. Like, he's just casually walking through the streets with me behind him, clinging to his shirt cause I'm tiny as all hell and would easily be lost in the crowds.

“Well if it isn’t the two loverbirds.” Xingqiu snickered when he caught the eyes of the duo walking to them. “Did you two have fun?”

Chongyun sighed at his remark. "Hello to you too, Xingqiu." He said while still holding Naoko's hand. She stared at the heir with a deadpan look, not amused one bit.

Lily giggled as her eyes shifts to Naoko and down to her yukata. “Ooh~! You look so cute in that! Did you manage to do it all by yourself?” Xingqiu snickered beside her.

“What she’s saying is, ‘did you do it properly? Because I didn’t’.” Lily glared at him while pouting and slapping his arm.

“Shush.”

Blinking, a light pink dusted the girl's cheeks. "T-thank you, and yes, I did do it by myself. It takes a while, but you'll eventually get it." She said with a shrug, unconsciously leaning closer to Chongyun and under the cover of the blue parasol. "And from the looks of things... He's never gonna let you live it down, huh?"

Lily sighs, almost tiredly. “Yep. And I’m starting to regret asking him for help.” Xingqiu pouts while placing a hand on his chest, mockingly feeling hurt. “How rude. I didn’t even receive a proper reward-!” Lily blushed a bit.

"What do you mean by proper reward-?! All you said is reward, not what kind of reward.” Xingqiu sighs while patting the girl’s head.

“You’re too naive.”

“And you’re too dirty.”

Chongyun held back the urge to roll his eyes, opting for a simple sigh. "At it again." Was all he muttered.

"You would think they'd be married by the way they argue." Naoko decided to smirk, glancing up at the sky. "But I think it's about time we started the actual celebration, right?" She giggled behind her fan. "Knowing those two, it'll be dawn by the time they finish!"

Lily turned to them, having enough of Xingqiu and looks at the other two. “Are we going now? I feel like we won’t get anywhere while we stand here.” Xingqiu stared at them before smirking mischievously. He grabbed Lily’s hand, who yelped at his sudden action, and began dragging her away from Naoko and Chongyun. “Have fun with your date! If you need us, we’ll be by the gaming booths!”

“Wha-? XINGQIU!”

"Rest in peace, Lily," Naoko muttered. "You will be missed."

Chongyun chuckled at her words, watching the pair disappear into the large crowds. "Come on, we should get going too." His grip tightening on the shorter girl's hand. "Hold on, don't want you getting trampled."

Naoko again blushed. "Y-yeah. Where do you want to go first? My aim is horrendous so don't expect anything if we do play games."

The exorcist laughed once more. "Don't worry, that's why I'm here after all."

Okay, lads

Time for me to start going insane with opinions nobody asked for. I made a meme and then I realized that people probably wouldn't recognize both characters in the meme. So I made another meme to explain the meme.

Xingqiu is one of my mains in Genshin, he's such a goofy guy. I want to pat his head.

Don Quixote, meanwhile, hasn't had her backstory dropped yet. I can only make assumptions of character off of the cantos we've seen.

I don't think I did either character's goofiness justice in the meme, but it's supposed to be a quick read instead of an essay.

Anyways, I also think Ishmael would get along with the house of the hearth children. So I may need to make a similar meme sometime.
