blind adoration isn’t hot ❤️ critical thinking, guys!!
Something that is confusing me is how many people are defending the changes Rick made and defending Rick himself in regards to the show.
He lied to us.
He got the entire fandom to hype up the show, got the show made on the basis of getting a book accurate adaption. This was supposed to be something accurate to the books, including the book characters, the book scenes, the book stakes- we were supposed to get to see our favorite moments in the books on screen.
And then he went and rewrote the book.
This adaption isn't the book we read. The characters aren't the characters we read. Grover's personality was wholesale replaced. This is something entirely new-
And whether you like it for itself is a different matter entirely, but the point is that... this isn't The Lightning Thief that we read years ago.
He lied to us.

what if i killed myself huh? HUH?
someone talk to me the way henry talks about fanny <33
"'...with such unpretending gentleness, so much as if it were a matter of course that she was not to have a moment at her own command, her hair arranged as neatly as it always is, and one little curl falling forward as she wrote, which she now and then shook back, and in the midst of all this, still speaking at intervals to /me/, or listening, and as if she liked to listen, to what I said. Had you seen her so, Mary, you would not have implied the possibility of her power over my heart ever ceasing.'"
i literally ceased to exist
"'I could so wholly and absolutely confide in her,' said he;' and /that/ is what I want.'"
...but at the same time there was a pointedness in his manner of asking her which she did not like, and she saw his eye glancing for a moment at her necklace, with a smile—she thought there was a smile—which made her blush and feel wretched.
-Jane Austen, Mansfield Park
he’s such a self absorbed asshole how can people genuinely ship him with fanny 😭 while i also find myself charmed by him, i feel it under delusion! jane austen had no right spewing the most loving things about fanny from our local fboy’s mouth 😍
Every once in a while I’ll come across a post being like “why did Jane Austen throw away Henry Crawford’s redemption arc that’s who Fanny should have married” and I would love for them to explain how a man refusing to accept a woman’s no for months & recruiting her entire shitty family to similarly pressure her into a marriage she doesn’t want was a “redemption arc” and not like more proof that he’s an asshole
henry crawford winning me over with his trust fund baby frat boy seducer aura was not on my 2024 bingo card!
how anyone can hate fanny price is so beyond me because how can you not relate to being left out and simultaneously wishing to be included but also knowing that's not what you really want, you just want to be understood and loved by those who actually know you
Piper: Today is a day of running through hurdles.
Jason: Aren’t you supposed to jump OVER hurdles?
Piper: Whatever. Fear is only something to be afraid of if you let it scare you.
Sophie: Do you take constructive criticism?
Keefe: I only take cash or credit.
everyone slags off jason so much and it sucks 😭 literally leave him alone you don’t get it
Jason Grace who could kill a man before he could write his name.
Jason Grace who had to look after himself when he ate poisonous berries.
Because the first rule of the Wolf House is self reliance.
Jason Grace who could command armies but couldn't tie his shoes.
Jason Grace who never cried infront of people because to do so would show weakness.
And the wolves would eat him alive.
Jason Grace who survived multiple assassination attempts both prior to and after becoming Praetor.
And could never trust so easily.
Jason Grace who doesn't know what his mother looks like but knows the names and faces of every fallen soilder by heart.
Jason Grace who doesn't smile because no one ever taught him how too.
Jason Grace who sleeps with his coin under his pillow and never tells anyone he's afraid of the dark.
Jason Grace who was never allowed to be a kid, he was made to fight.
Lupa taught him to rely on himself alone and the Legion taught him to be a one man army.
No one ever asked what he wanted... To do so would mean they saw him as human.
I am once again asking all the burnt out gifted kids to revisit hoo and consider jason's arc in this series bc this bitch GETS IT. he had always lived his life under the expectations of others and then he loses everything and tries to pick it back up but realizes he's not what he used to be and creates a new path for himself !!!
Percy: I learnt some very valuable lessons from this.
Annabeth: I’m guessing they are all horrible distortions on the lessons
Percy: Death isn’t real, and I’m basically a god
