Codywan Week Day 6: Quiet Love
Codywan Week Day 6: Quiet Love
Summary: Obi-wan and Cody love doing small things for each other. Even things they don't talk about or acknowledge. When Obi-wan's favorite pair of robes get damaged, he doesn't have the time to repair them. However, Cody finds a way to fix them.
Obi-wan and Cody's love for each other was shown in quiet declarations. Small things they would do for each other. Sure they spent almost every night together, snuggling close to each other and holding each other. But they also slid their feet together at meeting tables and looked back at each other in crowds to make sure they were okay.
Quiet love was their favorite. Cody remembered times where he would drop something under a table and he would sit up to see Obi-wan's hand on the corner, making sure he didn't hit his head. He remembered short touches when he was nervous.
They would sneak kisses in empty halls and hold hands on walks in the woods. They loved it almost as much as they loved each other.
"Are you ever going to fix those robes?" Cody asked his partner.
"I don't have the time." Obi-wan sighed as he folded the set of robes and put them in a drawer.
"They're your favorite." The site of robes were just about the same color as most of the ones he wore. However the fabric was softer and slightly more worn. It made them more comfortable to wear.
"I know. I'm sure I'll do it soon." With that he closed the drawer. "I'm going to go get something to eat, want anything?"
"Maybe some coffee?" Cody answered.
Obi-wan smiled and left the room. That's when Cody started to look around the room for a needle and thread. He had learned some domestic skills when he was bored on Kamino or in-between missions. Sewing was one of his favorites even if it was still somewhat difficult.
Finding the small repair kit Obi-wan's had tucked away in a drawer, the clone removed the set of robes from the drawer. Then he sat down at the table and found the holes he needed to mend.
After finding the holes, Cody started to stitch them shut. It wasn't perfect but slowly he fixed each and every hole he could. The larger ones were easier to work on. Like every time he tried to sew, he stabbed himself with the needle a few times. However most of the lines were straight so at least it wouldn't look horrible.
When he finished, Cody placed the robes back in the drawer as well as the sewing kit. Then he simply waited for Obi-wan to return. He placed a bandage on one of his fingers since he had poked it with the needle multiple times.
When Obi-wan returned, he gave Cody his coffee as well as an orange flower he had found. "This reminded me of you." He smiled.
"Thank you." Taking the coffee and the flower, Cody sat on the bed. He didn't think about the robes until later. After all, he didn't do it for anything other than making Obi-wan's life easier. In fact, he didn't think he needed to tell him. Later that week, the Jedi would think about it and pull them out like he had done that day. This time, he would see that all the holes had been closed.
The two men enjoyed the rest of their evening together. Cody stayed over that night. He shut the light off and crawled into bed. Obi-wan made sure his feet were covered by the blanket.
Later that week, Obi-wan was alone in his room. He had a pile of paper work that needed to be done. Still, he opened one of his dresser drawers. Pulling out his favorite set of robes, he saw that someone had already mended them. Smiling, Obi-wan knew he needed to thank Cody. He knew he would wear them the next day and he knew that it would make his beloved commander smile. Oh how he loved the little things.

Codywan Week Day 3: Soulmate au
Summary: When you touch your soulmate for the first time you can see color. When Cody and Obi-wan first met, they discovered just how colorful the galaxy can be.
The world was so boring in shades of gray. But that was all Obi-wan knew. That was all most people knew for the earlier parts of their lives. You would wait until you met your soulmate. Then once you touched them, your world would fade into color.
Obi-wan had always wanted to see the color of the universe had to offer. Now he is 34 and waiting. A war had begun and he was a general. He still needed to meet the people under his command.
The first time the Jedi saw his commander, he felt like they would get along. "I'm Obi-wan Kenobi. We'll be working together."
"Commander Cody." He reached his hand out for a handshake. "It's nice to meet you."
As the two shook their hands, the room seemed to light up. The shades of gray they both had lived with their whole lives faded into shades of red, blue, and more. Yet the color that took Obi-wan by surprise was the color of Cody's eyes. They were a simple brown yet stunning. "You have very beautiful eyes."
"Thank you." Cody said. The two stared at each other for a moment. They didn't let go of the other's hand or break eye contact as they stood there. "I like yours."
"Thank you." The two let go of each other but stayed locking eyes. "What color do you think they are?"
Breaking eye contact, Cody walked over to light on some board. "I'm not sure about the name, but I do know that they look something like this."
Smiling, Obi-wan looked around to find something that reminded him of Cody's eyes. He settled on his cloak. "Yours are a darker shade of brown than my cloak."
"How do you know it's brown?"
"Everyone tells me it is. I used to ask my master all the time."
Cody smiled. "That's sweet."
"Yeah. Well, shall we. We have duties to attend too." Both of them knew this was the beginning of something beautiful. While nervous, maybe they would be okay. The two would figure out more about the universe together.
Bonus
Cody and Obi-wan stood on the beach. The water was crystal blue. The clone could swear he had seen that color before. As the Jedi sat down to relax, Cody realized where he had seen that color before. In fact, he saw it all the time.
"I know how to describe your eyes now." Cody said as he joined him. Obi-wan had already found sweet ways to describe the man's eyes. He said they looked like coffee or old books.
"Oh?"
"They remind me of the sea. No wonder I like them so much, they remind me of home. You remind me of home."
"That's sweet. Thank you, love." Obi-wan looked around quickly before kissing Cody. He may not have shown how much those words touched him, but they did. They were one of the sweetest things he had heard in a while. "I love you."
"I love you too."
The Merry Whump of May Day 2: "Don't You Dare."
Fandom: Star Wars The Clone Wars
Warning: Character Death
Summary: Obi-wan never thought a memory of the past would be ruined during the war. Anakin was never a fan of listening to other people.
"Anakin, give that back." Obi-wan sighed
Anakin held his master's lightsaber, taunting him. "What are you gonna do?" He was ready to run away.
"Don't you dare" Obi-wan told his Padawan.
At the tail end of 'dare', Anakin took off down the hall. "Anakin!" Obi-wan yelled after him. Chasing him down the hall, the Jedi knew it would be a while before he got the boy to train. Like most ten year olds, he was difficult.
However, Anakin was his padawan. Training him was a pain but something told him it would be worth it in the end. Watching the kid run away with his lightsaber, Obi-wan couldn't help but smile. As frustrating as it was, it had some humor to it.
It had been years since Anakin had stolen his lightsaber and made Obi-wan chase him around the temple to get it back. As the years passed, the little boy that Qui-gon had picked up on Tatooine, grew into an adult.
Now the two brothers were generals in a war. They would fight side by side from time to time. Today was no different. "Hello Anakin."
"Hey Obi-wan. Good to see you."
"Likewise. Shall we go over the plan?"
"Probably."
Sitting together, the two looked over the battle plans and created them. They carefully thought out each attack and strategy, trying to find one that would take them to victory with the least amount of casualties.
The battle had started as they normally did. Hours of combat seemed to never end. Now they were pinned.
"What now?"
"I have a plan but you're not gonna like it."
"What's your plan?" Obi-wan asked Anakin.
Explosions went off all around them. Obi-wan's ears were starting to ring, a sound he never did quite get used to. "I'm going to take out the command tank."
"You'll die before you get there." Dismissing the thought, Obi-wan started to come up with another idea.
"Do you have such little faith in little old me?" Anakin joked.
Rolling his eyes, Obi-wan ignored the comment.
"I'm going to do it. It's our best shot."
"Don't you dare." Obi-wan told his padawan.
Anakin didn't listen. Running towards the command tank, Anakin deflected bullets. He got to the tank and slashed it with his lightsaber. The droids attacked the tank, using it as a weapon to kill Skywalker. Pieces of the tank scattered across the field. Anakin's body lie burned and still not far from the biggest part of the tank.
"Anakin!" Obi-wan screamed, Cody kept him from going to him.
The clone's arms wrapped around his body. "The medics will help him."
The world felt colder than he remembered. Trying to shake the feeling of loss was harder with Anakin then Qui-gon. Then again, Obi-wan had time to grieve with his father.
The battle couldn't stop for one man. If it could, there would never be any fighting. Kix pulled Anakin away from the scene and tried to find his vittles.
Cody got Obi-wan away from the scene. The fight continued and ended with a Republic victory.
Staying with Obi-wan, Cody never left his side. He already knew that General Skywalker had died. He had seen it in Rex and Kix's body language. Somehow, he knew Obi-wan knew. However, for everyone's sake, it was best to keep that quiet.
No words were exchanged when Kix hand Obi-wan Anakin's lightsaber. Maybe if Anakin had just listened. Anakin never liked to listen.
Augusnippets Day 14: Gifts
Fandom: EPIC: The Musical
Summary: Some crew members make Ody and Eury flower crowns.
It had been Polites who said they should make a gift for their captain and second in command. A few crew members tried to figure out what they give them. Eventually they discovered a nearby field that was over run with flowers.
"Do you know how to make flower crowns?" Polites asked. The men looked at each other, something nodding and others looking lost. "I'll show you!"
So Polites grabbed some flowers and sat down in the grass. Slowly, he instructed his friends how to make a flower crown. After a while, they finished their crafts. Now they had a variety of flower crowns that were all different colors. The crew just needed to find their officers.
Eurylochus and Odysseus had been talking when Polites walked up to them. "We have a surprise for you." He said. From behind his back, the man pulled two flower crowns out. One was mostly orange and red and the other consisted mostly of white and purple. "We made these for you!"
Surprised, the two men smiled. "Thank you." Odysseus said, taking his crown. Behind Polites, the soldiers seemed very happy that their gifts were received well.
Gently, Eurylochus took the orange and red flower crown and put it on his head. He smiled and looked back at the crew. "Thank you."
The men smiled as they pulled out their matching flower crowns. They walked up to Polites and gave him one. Since he had taught them, the men wanted to give him something in return.
Perimedes handed it to him. It was almost completely white and yellow. "Oh thank you!" Excitedly, Polites let Perimedes place it in his head. Odysseus smiled at the small gesture. Adjusting the crown, the king knew he preferred the soft feeling of the flower crown then the metal of his real one.
Augusnippets Day 7: Waterboarding
Fandom: Spy x Family
Summary: Loid is waterboarded
Loid didn't know what had given him away. All he did know was now he was in enemy territory. He had been on a mission to infiltrate a popular gang in this area. One of the members must have found out he was not there to truly join them.
Despite his abilities, Loid had not expected the gang members to attack him. All it took was one lead pipe to the back of his head and he was lucky to be alive. When Loid woke up, he was in some room. His hands were tied together and he heard what sounded like a sink running.
"Who sent you?" A gang member asked. Loid stayed silent.
"We don't have time for your fucking games man. Who sent you?" Still, Loid didn't answer.
"Alright, you asked for it." One of the gang members grabbed a bucket while another grabbed a cloth. They soaked the cloth and brought it to Loid's face.
Dropping the rag over the spy's face, the gang member poured more water in it. Loid struggled under their grasp, trying to escape. It felt like he was drowning, even if he wasn't. The water coming into his lungs, was painful and had the potential to be deadly. However, at the time he should be okay.
After a moment, Loid tried to calm himself enough to think about how to get out of the situation. Escape was all about the timing. If the man could plan it out to where he used his strength against the others when they didn't have water on him.
So he waited for a moment. Once they ran out of water, Loid took his chance. He attacked them, freeing himself. Shaking the cloth off of his face, Loid headed for the door. Forcing the door to open, he ran down the hall. Now Twilight just had to figure out how to escape the building.
Augusnippets Day 12: Lost
Fandom: Percy Jackson
Warning: Major character death
Summary: After being sent on a quest, Annabeth, Percy, and Grover find themselves lost somewhere in New Jersey. There they find the mystery monster they were sent to slay.
Looking for Pan was a Satyr's greatest honor. It was also Grover's second greatest honor; his greatest honor was being Percy Jackson's best friend. So when Percy told him to join him on a quest to uncover some mystery monsters, he ran to his side. After all, what are best friends for?
They left with Annabeth shortly after Grover made his way back to camp. Now they were in nowhere New Jersey trying to figure out where to go next.
"This feels familiar." Percy joked.
"Yeah." Annabeth smiled.
"There's no threat of war this time!" Grover exclaimed.
"Nope, just some mystery monster that we have to find and kill. Easy enough."
"We've been though worse." Annabeth responded to Percy. It was true, they had been though worse. From preventing a war at the age of twelve to holding up the sky, they faced every problem together.
The woods whisperered with mystery. There was a monster waiting for the teens and they knew it was close. As they grew closer to the monsters lair, Grover knew what it was. "It's a cyclops." He informed his friends.
Annabeth looked a little nervous but she was mostly used to being around them again because of Tyson. "Alright."
"We'll be okay." Grover insured her. They were a little less lost now at least.
Then the monster surprised them. It came out from behind a white oak tree and attacked them with a club. "Why is it always a club?!" Percy yelled.
With no other choice, the group split up. Grover took off further into the woods. He felt like if he looked back, something would get him. Slowing down, the satyr stopped figure out where he was.
As he wandered around, Grover tied to find his friends. "Percy! Annabeth! Where are you?!" The stench of the cyclops hadn't left his nose yet. They were loud creatures. Grover knew it was near him. He could swear he heard Percy yell for him.
The cyclops swung a hand down, slamming Grover into some nearby rocks. He heard his bones brake on impact. Still he tried to stand. The satyr was able to pull himself to his feet and take a few steps forwards before collapsing. He tried to call out, but found it almost impossible to breath, let alone speak. It felt like his body was shutting down.
Blood surrounded his body. Grover knew somewhere Percy would be frantically searching for him. The teen wasn't sure how much time had passed. He could hear Percy talking to him in his head. "Don't give up! Hold hold!" But as the sky was starting to fade from view, Grover knew he wouldn't make it.
Percy collapsed to the ground when Grover died. His breathing was off. Annabeth grabbed him and pulled him away from the cyclops that had since found them. "What?" She asked, nervously.
Shaking, Percy tried to stand back up. "He's gone." Tears ran down his face.
After getting Percy to safety, Annabeth took on the cyclops alone. Eventually she was able to slay it.
"We should bring his body back to camp" Percy started. "We can at least do that right?"
Resting a hand on Percy's shoulder, Annabeth reminded him that when satyrs die, they are reborn as plants. There was no body to be found. Now Grover would remain in the woods, forever lost.
