Die San, Ureinwohner Namibias, auch Buschmänner oder Bushmen genannt, leben schon seit über 20.000 Jahren im südlichen Afrika. Die Region gehört zum sog. Buschmannland, welches den San von der südafrikanischen Homeland Strategie zugewiesen wurde. Man schätzt, dass heute ca. 30.000 San in Namibia leben, wovon noch 2000 in ihrer traditionellen Weise leben.

The San, the original inhabitants of Namibia, also called Bushmen, have been living in Southern Africa for more than 20,000 years. The region belongs to the former Bushmanland, appointed homeland to the Bushmen by the former South African administration. It is estimated today that about 30,000 San are living in Namibia, of which about 2,000 still have a traditional way of live.

Die Republik Südafrika ist ein Land an der Südspitze Afrikas mit einer 2.798 Kilometer langen Küstenlinie am Atlantik und Indischen Ozean. Im Norden liegen Namibia, Botswana und Simbabwe; im Osten sind Mosambik und Swasiland; während Lesotho ein unabhängiges Land ist, das vollständig von südafrikanischem Territorium umgeben ist. Südafrika ist in neun Regionen unterteilt: Westkap, Nordkap, Ostkap, Freistaat, Nordwesten, Gauteng, Limpopo, Mpumalanga und KwaZulu Natal.

The Republic of South Africa is a country located at the southern tip of Africa, with a 2,798 kilometers coastline on the Atlantic and Indian Oceans. To the north lie Namibia, Botswana and Zimbabwe; to the east are Mozambique and Swaziland; while Lesotho is an independent country wholly surrounded by South African territory. South Africa is divided into nine regions: Western Cape, Northern Cape, Eastern Cape, Free State, North West, Gauteng, Limpopo, Mpumalanga and KwaZulu Natal.

Birds of Eden is the world largest single dome free flight aviary hosting over 200 species and nearly 3500 birds. Visitors have the option of going on a self-guided tour through the 3-hectare aviary  or requesting a guide to walk them through the aviary and telling them all about the different birds. The more time you spend in the aviary the more you will see. As with all types of bird watching, it takes time to enjoy.

Birds of Eden ist die weltweit größte Freiflug-Voliere mit einer Kuppel, in der über 200 Arten und fast 3500 Vögel leben. Besucher haben die Möglichkeit,  selbst eine Tour durch die 3 Hektar große Voliere zu unternehmen oder einen Führer anzufordern, der sie durch die Voliere führt und ihnen alles über die verschiedenen Vögel erzählt. Je mehr Zeit man in der Voliere verbringt, desto mehr wird man sehen. Wie bei jeder Vogelbeobachtung braucht es Zeit, um zu genießen.
