You Know What I Realized About Ship Names? Most Of The Time, Ships Either Have A Really Nice Ring To
You know what I realized about ship names? Most of the time, ships either have a really nice ring to it, or they sound fucking ridiculous.
I will now be rating the names (not the ships themselves)
Disclaimer: this does not have anything to do with ships that I ship. I do ship some of these, I’m neutral or don’t ship the others.
Examples of good names:
Luz and Amity: Lumity. Nice ring to it. Sounds witchy. Maybe a light spell. (Luminescent) 10/10.
Joyce and Hopper: Jopper. Again, just sounds nice. 7/10
Hunter and Willow: Huntlow/Winter. Huntlow has a nice ring to it, and winter is an actual word. Huntlow: 7/10 winter: 9/10
El and Max: Elmax/Maven. Elmax is a fine ship name. I really like maven though. Sad Elmax is the more popular name. Elmax: 8/10 Maven: 9/10
Examples of bad names:
Mike and Will: Byler. Byler by itself is fine, but there’s a reason why its their last names. Wike. Mill. Mikill. willike. Need I continue. Byler: 7/10 others: 0/10
Wendy and Dipper: Wendip. It just sounds stupid ok. 2/10
Lucas and Max: Lumax/Mucas. I wasn’t really sure which one to put this in. Lumax doesn’t have much of a ring to it but eh. Mucas is just funny. Lumax: 4/10 Mucas: 5/10 (bonus bc it’s funny.)
Dipper and Pacifica: Dipacifica. Again. It just sounds stupid. I don’t think any dipper ship name is going to sound good. 3/10.
Hunter and Amity: Huntmity. This is the only ship I’m going to share my opinion on because it’s literally homophobic. Not only does the ship suck, but the name is horrible. It’s so awkward to say. -2/10

I hate geometry so much because I already know it and it’s boring but today made me rethink whether or not I want to leave the class.
Two things happened that I found interesting
1. The kid next to me smelled like cigarettes the whole class and half way through he asked to “get water” and was probably gone for 10 minutes.
2. The two girls across from me licked highlighters to see what they tasted like and then tries to convince another kid to lick one because they were “flavored.”
You can call me insane all you want but I love listening to musicals on shuffle.
I’ve been listening to Rent on shuffle and I’m almost done. But here’s the thing that’s so great about listening to things out of order. Instead of being a song that’s part of a musical and bigger story, each song is one thing in itself. Once you know each song well enough, you can appreciate the little things. The harmonies in “Will I?”, the overlapping but separate stories in “Christmas Bells.” It’s such a genius musical. “Christmas Bells” especially, the little conversations that are hidden in the music really show the characters and how they interact with each other.
Angel and Collins buying coats and he finds the one that was stolen from him. Angel saying “let’s get a better one” really shows their character.
Also the conversation between Mark, Roger, and Mimi. Roger says “Let’s not hold hands yet.” This man is so scared of falling in love and then dying so he’s trying as hard as possible to not fall in love. Mimi says “Is that a warning?” She doesn’t know why he’s so scared because they’re in the same situation but handling it differently. Roger is shutting out the world and Mimi is seizing every moment possible. Mimi thinks that Roger doesn’t want a serious relationship like she does because I bet she has fallen in love with people who didn’t want anything serious. Then Roger clarifies by saying “I just need to take it slow.”
Anyways that got really off track but as someone who has seen this musical 4 times live and listened to the soundtrack for almost 10 years, I’ve had a lot of time to listen to things carefully and notice the tiny little beautiful things.
So if you haven’t listened to rent on shuffle or at all, do it. Do it right now. Go on Apple Music (because Spotify only has the disgusting auto tune movie version) and listen to it.
That concludes my Christmas Bells analysis/Rent appreciation post.
Have a nice day :)
Jeez can Mimi and Roger just stop interrupting super important songs with their songs about their rollercoaster of a relationship.
I have an official theory that the s5 time skip is going to skip forward 2 years to 1988 and I need that to happen and here’s why:
Will has an REM poster. Will canonically listens to REM. (great taste) What REM album came out in 1988? Green. Now if you don’t know about the green byler color coding I suggest looking it up somewhere else because I don’t have the energy to explain. Not to mention, Green literally has a song in it called “I Remember California.”
I don’t remember who said it but right after volume 1 came out, someone pointed out that REM can stand for Rapid Eye Movement (again look it up it’s hard to explain) which occurs multiple times throughout the series and especially in season 4.
Another interesting thing is that in Life’s Rich Pagent, one of their albums released in 1986, there is a song (a very popular cover) called Superman.
Leaving it at that
today is tuesday.
