It Has Been One Intro, One The Song That Originally Was About Deku And Shigaraki And Not Endevour And

It has been one intro, one the song that originally was about Deku and Shigaraki and not Endevour and Hawks and one outro later and my hope is going downhill.

So I don’t actually watch mha academia anymore and only read the manga, BUT of course since my villain academia is coming up I found a ton of content on my dash.

Of course as usually Bones seems to be doing very strange things with the adaptation.

But maybe just maybe they try to make a subverting expectations in a good way thing.

As in they now show Tomura being super destructive, having this “the obvioulsy totally evil and nothing else villain steps on the pretty flower” moment while we saw absolulty nothing of Spinner in the latest DVD art.

Maybe they try to build up on the perseption of the pro hero perspective: those guys are just evil and nothing else. And then when my villain academia does happen it catches those who haven’t yet noticed how human the league are by surprise.

Then again this is a total moment of hope that someone thought things a bit better through and nothing more.

First of all: thank you.

Second: the translation is so wobbly to make the timeline clear at it. Which might be intentional to keep the mystery up, because what Fuyumi says is:

“It happend right around the time mother was admitted to the hospital.”

“Right around” is probably not the best translation for the japanese version (which I sadly can’t find any raw scans of) because time is expressed so differently from english grammer.

And even in english it could technically refear to a point before the hospitalisation, it’s not not how it would be commonly said in english.

So I’d still go with: the translation is the issue here, but thank you very much for answering.

Quick question, could you reference the "when Toya died" chapter difference? I remember well the recent chapters, when Rei said after Toya's death her mental heath became worse, but I can't remember the first time the timeline of Toya's death was mentioned. Do you have a chapter reference? I always thought it might have been a translational issue because of the fan translation/real translation difference, but I'd like to re-read myself.

If I recall, the first time he was confirmed to be dead as far as anyone knew was 249, when we first saw his shrine. Before that, the fandom was generally assuming he had run away.

We get more details in 250, where it’s mentioned that Natsuo blames Endeavor for Touya’s death & believes he killed him, and that it worsened Rei’s mental state in the hospital.

And then it was of course chapter 290 when we learned he was not dead and instead had become Dabi.

I am late to the party but I just found out that WB legit made Clark Kent black instead of using either Val Zod or Calvin Ellis, this is so infuriating.

When they anounced Black Superman I thought they would not be that stupid, they legit had the chance to make a good step forward and make a Val Zod or Calvin Ellis movie and tell every other racist asshole off by telling them that they just know nothing about comics, but nope.

As if the movie watchers today don’t watch anything companies produce under the superhero tag already, no matter the actual superhero in it.

Since I am currently on a re-reading asoiaf names with our world spelling of names in mind I found out that Dagmer, which comes from Dagmar a scandinavian, traditionally female name comes from daggr -> day and maer -> daughter/mother/maiden.

So yeah Dagmer Cleftjaw is Theon’s day mother.

First of all: thank you again! So I have seen multiple different translations that all state diffent things about the exact timeline. But sadly can’t access the japanese raws for someone trustworthy to translate for me.

But the offical english translation does state that it was after Rei got hospitalized and any other lanuage usually just translates the english version and not the orginal japanese, so looking at those doesn’t clear things up at all.

And that everything is so differently translated on that same sentence makes me think that whatever the orginal sentece was, it was either a timeform not usually used in english or a vague sentence in general.

Because I have seen translations of offical work screwed up time and time again as much as fan-translations were that I don’t trust even official translators anymore.

I had an extremly long conversation about chapter 311′s translation because none of them made complete sense to me.

I mean my favourite author got translated from english to german and having read the book in english I noticed so many mistakes in translation to the point where they even decided not to translate a whole praragraph and that was english to german, so I am extremly weary of any translation of anything I come across even if it is official.

Also I read asoiaf in german, where they legit translated all names, including last names like Dustin, so Lady Dustin was Lady Staublin, wich is the most unneccesairy translation ever.

We’re all human, we all make mistakes and japanese is a hard language and this is not the first time in bnha translation that I went: “huh? Why is this so extremly different in translations?” Well because japanese is hard and things can mean multiple things. And english is an extremly simple language that does often lack the right translation.

But thank you for the first panel of both, so I could look up witch one I read. It cleared nothing up for sure since I can’t access the raws, but it was useful nonetheless.
