HERE AM I, FUCKING FANGIRLING OVER MY OWN FANFICTION WORK. AGAIN.
I've written Control your emotions, a Harry J. Potter one shot awfully long ago, and I'm pleasantly surprised that's the story that is still having a big effect on me. It touched my heart, had me giggling and kicking my feet for half an hour.
For God's sake, I'm the writer of that!!
If you're interested, check my wattpad account βslytherinlizzyβ, the story is in the book called Harry Potter one shots.
I'm perfectly aware my stories, not even my main story is popular enough to be noticed by random strangers. Yet still, I felt the need to let some of you know of its existence, as my heart holds deep love and affection towards it.
Hope this message found the right audience who is pretty much just as obsessed with the Wizarding World as me.
Sending love,
βLiz
[A little taste of the story, though this isn't the most beautifully written one of mines. Please note this was half a year ago, and writers get better by each passing second, word, sentence, idea and book.]
The heavy rain beat on the window of the Great Hall, the whistling of the wind serving as background noise to the bustle of the students gathered for dinner. For some time now, everyone has been busy with the delicacies packed on their plates.
Harry, Ron, Hermione and Lily were chatting just like everyone else, though Harry was more interested in his potions book than his friends. He couldn't put it down, simply didn't have that much strength. Constantly reading the Half-Blood Prince's notes and advice, the boy started to annoy the others around him.
"Oh, honestly Harry, put that goddamn book down when we're eating!" Hermione slammed down her fork, glaring at her friend. "You're one to say..." afraid of the consequences, Ron mumbled under his nose.
"Ronald!"
"Just saying!"
rereading anything and everything you've written so far
reading as in both of a reader's and writer's persepctive
finding works that are in a similar theme, point of view as your story
reading anything and everything, because that's how you gain further ideas, developments
writing down random ideas in a notebook you carry around/have in your phone. don't plan them out, let it be random and messy, you'll understand it, don't worry
allow yourself to daydream, and when you get that feeling you have to write it down, no matter how far it is in the story or isn't even relevant to it, then freaking write it down. you'll thank yourself later
analyzing old works of yours, pointing out the developments, results, styles, changes you went trough
Things that are still writing even if you don't think they are (an incomplete list)
thinking about a story
creating a new document
brainstorming
researching
thinking of a title
explaining your story to someone else
reading other stories and noticing things like word choice, sentence structure, plot development, characterization
thinking of a great line that doesn't have a story yet
getting a picture in your mind that you want to put into words someday
being inspired by others, even if you don't know what to do with that inspiration yet
making notes about how you want to tag your work
editing
cutting out lines or scenes that don't work
stopping work on something that isn't working right now
starting over
writing a summary
rewriting something you've written before
Wattpad fanfictions that gave me something I didn't know I needed, changing me deep inside
