Old Staircase
Old Staircase
You slammed the door;
So hard it broke.
Glass scattered;
About the floor.
I pranced slowly;
Evading broken fragments;
Dissuading growing torment;
Rising from my chest.
Knowing you love me less;
Than you did yesterday.
You've shown it today.
I sat in the corner;
Without looking sober.
How could I be so brave;
While my heart is enslaved
By your captivating gaze?
Your angelic face;
In the far reaches of my brain
Has found its place.
And there it stayed;
A glamorous tattoo;
A memory of you.
I just couldn't shake;
Those promises you made
When you kissed me
In your old staircase.

Fell for the Night
Unfortunately for the girl
Who loves to be around
Broken people;
Tending their wounds;
Pulling them up from the dumps;
No one's there for her
When she needs healing.
So she embraced the darkness;
Kissed the demons;
And fell for the night!

Misconstrued
I can only construe
What has been transpired.
You wanted to see me;
So I bared it all:
My darkness,
My cracks and bruises.
Why did you run away?

72 Hours
Feel me;
Come closer.
Breathe me in;
A gentle zephyr
Filling your lungs.
Now breathe me out;
Let me go.
Cut me loose;
Let me sleep
For the next
Seventy-two hours!

Kryptonite
Pair of baby blue eyes;
Dancing about the room.
Sweet, lingering stares;
Like they’re finally home.
A flash of smile;
Sends me wild butterflies.
All these sweet nothings;
Take me to cloud nine.
But what enthralls me most;
Is your beautiful soul.
The day you bared it all;
I gave in to the fall!
